Full-Day Monkey Island and Indian Village Tour from Panama City, Panama
US$ 145.00
Overview
Combine some of the most popular day trips from Panama City, Panama into one day of adventure. This tour includes a boat ride on Lake Gatun, which is part of the Panama Canal, a visit to Monkey Island, which is home to three species of monkeys, and a visit to Soberania National Park and an indigenous village.
What to Expect
The tour starts around 8am, leaving the city behind and heading toward the jungle and Soberania National Park. You will get on the small boat known as a 'lancha' on the Charges River, pass under the Gamboa Bridge and cruise the Panama Canal for a little while, passing big ships and learning all about the history of the area.

Once you get to a place to turn off the main channel of the canal, you can explore the back bays where you will see a lot of wildlife! Upon return, you will pass the dock and head a bit further upstream to the village.

There you will be greeted and will learn about the culture, history and traditions of the tribe as well as the flora that they use in everyday life. On the way back to the city, the guide can make a stop for lunch (not included).

Fascinating Tour!

Gonzo was a terrific guide! He was knowledgeable about Panama City, it's history, the canal, the ecosystem, the indigenous tribes/customs, and every other question we threw at him. I highly recommend the tour. It was great!

We were picked up early in the morning and got back mid-afternoon. We stopped in a little shopping area/food court which was lovely with outdoor seating....at the end of the tour and by then we were hungry!
