This trip will fill your passport books with stamps as you go through Guatemala and Honduras. If you love hiking and beautiful places, book this tour. It is physically demanding but worth it. The landscape is stunning, the view from the crater is spectacular, and the whole experience is amazing. Josué was our guide and he was so much fun. Ask for him! Josué is the best!

This trip has been absolutely fascinating! Visiting two incredible Mayan sites in one day—Joya de Cerén and Tazumal—was an unforgettable experience. At Joya de Cerén, walking through the remarkably preserved remains of daily Mayan life felt like stepping back in time. It’s amazing to think that this “Pompeii of the Americas” gives us such a vivid snapshot of how ordinary people lived centuries ago. Then at Tazumal, the towering pyramids and intricate ruins told a completely different story—one of power, ceremony, and the architectural brilliance of the Mayan civilization. What made the day even better was Gabriel, our tour guide. He’s such an interesting and engaging person, full of knowledge and enthusiasm. He knows the history inside and out, but what really stood out was the way he told it—so clear and easy to understand, even for someone like me who isn’t a history expert. He has this knack for turning facts into stories that really bring the past to life. And it’s not just that he’s knowledgeable—his joyful personality and sense of humor made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. It felt like more than just a tour; it was like exploring history with a friend who truly loves what he does.

Truly a great tour. Gaby picked us up from our Airbnb at the stated time and the drive was comfortable as we drove to the Monkey sanctuary. The location was beautiful and we saw so many monkeys! Kayaking was a lot of fun and there were very clean bathrooms to change in. Such a great tour.

This is a great day trip from San Salvador. You'll spend most of your time enoying the hike, not driving to the destination. The hike is moderate and the views are spectacular. The photos don't do it justice. My tour was with David, an enthusiastic, fun guide who knows a lot about his country and the volcano and he keeps it interesting. A good guide makes a lot of difference in the outcome and I was lucky to have David, he's a perfect guide in every way and knows how to keep the energy up and make it fun for everyone.

The hike was nice and the view at the top spectacular. The view of the lake and lunch at the lake was amazing as well. Josué was also an amazing guide. Very friendly and offered us some information about El Salvador along the way which we loved! He made our hike very memorable and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!

From beginning to end, we had such a great time! We were lucky and it was just us and Chamba; our guide. We were able to go at our pace and truly enjoy the waterfalls. Chamba had a great energy the whole time and was super patient and made sure we were safe throughout the whole time. We were lucky enough to also have some of the waterfalls to ourselves for a bit and Chamba took incredible photos and videos for us! We absolutely loved our whole experience!

Josué was the best tour guide(and photographer haha)! He was on time and very professional. He made our tour very personal to us. He was kind and charismatic and made sure to go the extra mile to make sure we were having the best experience in Guatemala. His driving skills were very impressive. We felt very safe along the way. He was also great with our baby. He was very knowledgeable on El Salvador and Guatemala. We would recommend 100% this tour and would love to work with Josué in other tours in the future.

What a beautiful outing from start to finish! The best thing was Gaby, my guide. She was so knowledgable, thoughtful and adaptable. As a regular hiker, the hike was moderate but enough of a challenge and the lunch by the lakeside was perfect! I would highly recommend this day trip and Gaby! Lucy S
