Overview
Take a step back in time and visit one of the world’s most infamous exclusion zones on this full-day retro Chernobyl tour from Kiev. Hop into your classic Soviet-era car and head into the Chernobyl exclusion zone with a guide. Explore the derelict city of Pripyat, and discover abandoned buildings including the hospital, swimming pool and schools. Along the way, gain insight into city life under Communist rule. Visit the secret Duga military radar station, and see photos of Pripyat and Chernobyl before the blast of 1986.
What to Expect
This 12-hour day trip is packed with the best of what Chernobyl and Pripyat can offer. The unique communist atmosphere, the chance to drive an UAZ or Lada, and pictures in communist uniforms will give you a unique perspective of the Chernobyl area and the country before and after the Chernobyl accident. You will visit abandoned buildings, including a swimming pool, a hospital, a school, a kindergarten, a police station, and an amusement park, which will be followed by a visit to the secret military radar station, Duga. The guide is equipped with photos of Pripyat and Chernobyl, giving you the chance to go back in time to 1986. You will experience the communist propaganda and its artifacts—buildings, signs, slogans, and military technique.

A Great Experience

I took the tour on 30.08.2018. The transfer to the zone was interesting, because we watched a film about the Chernobyl disaster. In the zone there were more people and traffic than I expected ;) Our guide Victoria was great! With her enthusiasm for the...More
