- Rene R0 contributionsPeles & Bran (Dracula) castle tourAbsolutely Beautiful Tour to Peles Castle and Bran Castle, had a wonderful time Tourguide Serban was super nice & friendly, i totally recommend him!Written 13 February 2025
- 35laureneli0 contributionsA trip well worth! We loved this trip so much! Great to fit in a couple of castles especially as they are so contrasting, one lovely decorated as a typical royal castle should be and the next is one that really gets your imagination going! Laura was a fab tour guide and taught us so much! She also navigated the manic Romanian roads very well. We were in a group of 7 and found this was a great number as we weren’t waiting around for loads of people for ages and were able to get on our way when we needed to. All in all a great day trip, totally worth it!Written 9 February 2025
- RarelyReviewer0 contributionsGreat way to experience Romania!Laura was very well organised and kind, and being a small group, the experience felt very personalised and flexible. Really recommended!Written 7 February 2025
- Jon N0 contributionsHighly recommended! You can't avoid being in a vehicle for several hours, but the coach was comfortable and provided WiFi. The guide was not only knowledgeable, but amazingly pleasant and passionate about the history. I was traveling alone but the others on the tour were fun to be with and around. Couple things to consider ahead of starting the tour: - Restrooms are a bit sparse - You may want a portable charger as you're in the van for a while It was about 13 hours from pick up to drop off, but I'm sure that can vary.Written 1 February 2025
- joan w0 contributionsChasing Dracula 🧛🏼♀️Had an amazing, beautiful, snow day chasing vampires 🧛🏼♀️. Serban, our guide and Peter our driver were phenomenal. We did not have to wait in long lines due to their strategic planning and master driving manipulations of the snowy highways. NO ONE GOT LEFT!! Serban will understand this when/if he reads the post. No reason to stop by the supervisor’s home to complain (we know where you live ) 🤣😂. I would recommend them 1000 % of the timeWritten 19 January 2025
- Roam8158140 contributionsWorthwhile, but a long and cold dayBeautiful location in the Carpathian Mountains. The communities near the castles are reminiscent of alpine villages. Both castles are a bit run down and can be crowded, but are worth seeing. Brasov Castle plays up the Dracula theme a bit much, but the historical information about past rulers is very informative. Expect to be cold! There is no heat in these buildings and much of the tour is outdoors. I recommend heavy coats and toe/hand warmers. There also is 6+ hours of driving if you’re coming from Burcharest.Written 16 January 2025
- 894kabilanp0 contributionsGreat tour guide! Fun day tour!Serban was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area & extremely kind. I recommend going on this tour, especially if you want to hit all the important spots in a short time.Written 12 January 2025

- _M1475SP0 contributionsBest Transylvania experienceWe loved it!! Our trip to Peles Castle, Dracula Castle, and Brasov was absolutely unforgettable, thanks to the amazing guide, Serban. From the start, everything was perfectly organized and comfortable. Serban is a true gem — his blend of humor and knowledge made the tour both entertaining and informative. He shared stories and historical insights at every stop, keeping us engaged throughout the day. Not only was he a fantastic guide, but an incredible driver too. The tour is made thoughtfully, so you have plenty of time to explore each destination without feeling rushed. If you’re looking for an stress-free, enriching, and enjoyable experience, this tour is an absolute must! Thank you, Serban, for making this trip so memorable.Written 8 January 2025
- OnAir6243520 contributions1 day trip to Bram and Peles castlesLaura was lovely. Very friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend booking a smaller group trip, more flexibility and less waiting around for people.Written 3 January 2025

- sarathc20150 contributionsBest guide in RomaniaSerban the guide made our day in the best possible way. He planned the things with his long experience and avoided long waiting times. He was helping us with the correct fuel stations where we can find clean restrooms and guided to nice restaurants. 10 out of 10 for guide and the company. God is Romanian ..Written 9 December 2024
- RohiniG750 contributionsAmazing experience to Bulgaria with an amazing guide! We had a fantastic time on our tour to Bulgaria with Serban! His energy and enthusiasm were infectious, making the whole experience enjoyable and fun. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly kind and jolly, which created a warm atmosphere for everyone in the group. We hit some traffic and ended up running late, but Serban was so understanding and graciously waited for us without any hesitation. It truly made a difference in our day! Overall, Serban’s positivity and dedication made this tour unforgettable. Highly recommend him as a guide! Thank you, Serban!Written 4 December 2024
- H5264PUemmac0 contributions5 star 🌟 tourI cannot tell you how fabulous our tour was. Serban Riga was our guide and he was the most wonderful gentleman, he was punctual, funny and so knowledgeable, we had such a great time. We didn’t feel rushed and he did go over our time to allow us to enjoy our wine 🍷 highly recommend, wonderful experience.Written 4 December 2024
- Sheeetal0 contributionsBeautiful trip for my husband’s 50th birthdayWhat a lovely day! We started off at the agreed pick up point on time, joined the mini-bus and the rest of the group compiled itself. First stop was the service/fuel station, quick trip to the bathroom, a coffee/pastry or usual light snacks available. Then to Peles Castle (note, November 2024 scaffolding outside); absolutely amazing, the interior is even more spectacular. You will be thankful for your guide, Mathew who was very informative throughout. It should be noted that there can be absolute chaos actually getting into the the castle, we were in a queue waiting as we are programmed to do. So and slowly but surely, herds of people were by-passing us, soon it became apparent that there is major queue jumping going on and no order is preserved from the venue. This is a real shame as it is a major health and safety risk of crushing/crowd control. As you get closer to the entrance, it really feels as though it may just take a few crazy people to start pushing and can end dangerously! If you are travelling as a group, it seems as though your leader gets you to enter together as per group. Next stop, Bran Castle, you will get a chance to have lunch before entering. We had grabbed some market food as we wanted to look around for the hour beforehand. Note, stall holders will only take cash and ATMs are available. Then to the castle, there was a queue but more organised than Peles. The castle is smaller but still super amazing to admire and take in the history. Last stop was Brasov, beautiful town, would be nice to spend the day exploring if travelling on your own. We had approximately an hour or just over and managed to see the tower to the views and grab a hot chocolate from the main square. We felt as if it were enough for us as the day was quite a long one. Peter, our lovely driver, met us at a more convenient spot to save our legs from waking which was very much appreciated at this point. I have to mention that we met the most amazing group, I have never been on a trip with friendly, warm, funny and kind people. If I had to ever do a group trip again, I wouldn’t change anyone on this trip, they truly made it worthwhile for us! Positives: Speak for themselves, the people, the group leader Mathew and driver, Peter- they were lovely The sights, it’s an action packed day (don’t make dinner plans as it could get very late if you hit traffic) Small group Time efficient Negatives: The queue system or not, at Peles (although this is the fault of the Castle organisation) Maybe for some, it can become a long day, but it’s the only way to see as much in the short timeWritten 27 November 2024

It was great! In large part this was due to our driver/guide Narcis Brandusescu for two very different reasons. First, he was a great help physically – we are in our late 70s and really needed his strong arm/hand when there were no hand rails on stairs or the footing was very uneven – this despite our walking sticks (which I recommend, BTW). Secondly once Narcis discovered our preference for viewing museums he re-arranged the planned itinerary to include more of them and less churches. We also added a trip up the mountains to see Lake Vidaru, on the way meeting a mother brown bear and her two cubs!

Be sure to add an extra few days when visiting Bucharest to visit the countryside. The 3 day tour includes the Bram and Peles Castles which people often take in a one day tour. The extra days driving over the Carpathian Mts. and stopping in 3 lovely towns, 2 overnights had us all chanting, "we love Romania!"! This country is very rich in history. Seeing the bears by the side of the road was amazing too though people shouldn't be feeding them. We had a delightful tour with our guide, Serben, from TravelMaker. He was funny and had a lot of historical knowledge. He was able to anticipate crowds and adjust our schedule so we could avoid the worst tourist bottlenecks. The website had all the info about bringing a certain amount of local currency which we needed for tickets to the Peles Castle, suggested tip, tipping in general etc. My only suggestion is to understand the acommodations better. Maybe a link to the hotels could be sent beforehand. The last hotel was in a fabulous location right at the town square, but no elevator. Serben was great carrying bags up stairs and the next morning the hotel had staff to help. We were a group of 9 older travelers.
The driver, Floin, for the van was very professional oal and managed the mountain switchbacks and crowded areas with skill.

My son and I had the trip of a lifetime as we celebrated his 16th birthday present in Romania this summer. This tour was everything you want in a tour of a country very different from your own. Our group was small and our guide, Narcis, was a knowledgeable, informative, and thoughtful tour guide who took us to all the best places not mentioned in guidebooks. In a short three days, we learned about Romanian culture and history through visiting museums, monasteries, churches, and medieval villages. The van we toured in was great with large windows to view the gorgeous landscape and the hotels we stayed in were very nice with beautiful breakfasts. I am hopeful that I can send many friends and family on this fabulous tour through Romania.

First of all I would like to compliment Travelmaker, WOW! what a great company, once you are in their office everyone and everything welcomes you. Indeed they did a good job in organizing our tours and airport pickup.
Secondly, Matei Boerescu, our tour guide for the Medieval Tour, he was excellent by all means. He was very punctual, informative and had a great sense of humour. Overall, it was a great experience and would love to do the tour again, however, the next time would be to have more time and spend at least 6 days in this tour. Great Job!

My husband, college aged daughter, & I very much enjoyed our tour of Transylvania. The private tour allowed us to go at our own pace so we never felt rushed. Our tour guide, Serban Riga, was very knowledgeable and really made us feel comfortable and at ease.

Hello. I'm very interested in this tour, but I realize that the tickets for some places are not included on the tour's price. Is it possible to buy those tickets with you? If not could you recommend for me a website to buy those tickets?
