Day 1: CUSCO – SOQMA – CHANKACHUCO VALLEY

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
We leave Cusco early in the morning and drive through the Sacred Valley for 1½ hours to the small town of Soma. This is the starting point of our trek and where we meet the horsemen that will join and assist us during the trip.

Our hike begins with a one-hour walk to the spectacular Perolniyoq Waterfall. Continuing on for 45 minutes we arrive at the Inka site of the same name, where we your guide will provide a brief tour before enjoying a delicious lunch together in the village of Rayan.

After lunch, we make an ascent for two hours until we arrive at the first pass, Kuychi Qasa. The views as we climb grow more and more spectacular, and we will have plenty of time at the summit to rest and take some unforgettable pictures. From the pass, we have a final 90-minute hike before we arrive at our campsite for the night in the Chankachuco Valley.
