About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 349dih0 contributionsCanon del Maipo trip. This was an amazing trip. Driver tried hard with his English. The driver was a skilled driver as the roads were very narrow. He stopped at a number of places so we could take photos. A memorable experienceWritten 13 February 2025
- Kathleen F0 contributionsVery enjoyable day.Impressive scenery, helpful and polite driver/guide (thank you, Gonzalo). Value for money for such a long day. Clean and well-maintained minibus. Lovely picnic at the end.Written 13 February 2025
- mohababas250 contributionsJhodad is amazing!Jhodad is amazing ! He is very kind, funny, patient, and knowledgeable. He answered all of the questions that were asked of him. He made sure everyone was ok and having a good time. He made sure the group stayed together so no one gets lost, and did an amazing job communicating excatly where the bus will be, what time, and what we were doing. Thank you so much Jhodad!!! I look forward to doing another tour with you.Written 12 February 2025
- domosed0 contributionsToo short Valparaíso visitThis tour is kind of OK, so much so, that one does get a glimpse and feel of the world heritage town of Valparaíso. A nice short guided walk is included. But instead of allowing for free time there, the busload of tourists (the group is certainly not small) are dumped into an otherwise completely empty overpriced restaurant in the nothing-to-write-home-about beach resort next door. It's a huge anticlimax. The wine tasting toilet stop before breakfast is not worth even mentioning. Even less - the way too long process of picking up and dropping off people at different hotels.Written 11 February 2025
- mjpshaw0 contributionsGreat city+ tourWe really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Consuelo Gutiérrez was very knowledgeable and professional. She and the driver not only showed us many interesting places around the city, but they also took us to the country side to explore beautiful nature and nearby small towns that tourists normally don’t get to see. We had a great time.Written 9 February 2025
- Tasnia_240 contributionsWonderful experience and excellent tour guideThis is a great trip. Itinerary is well designed. Our tour guide Alexis Soto is magnificent. He is kind, courteous, friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. He even showed Chilean traditional dance forms by dancing himself! He kept us very well informed of every step of the trip from start to finish. He is phenomenal!!! Our driver David is a great driver too. Overall, I enjoyed the trip thoroughly.Written 9 February 2025
- rebeccasT8055DH0 contributionsHappy with MTO Tours ChileWe booked two tours with get your guide and both were run by MTO Tours. One to Canyon Maipo the other one to Valparaiso. We enjoyed both. Guides spoke good English. For the Valparaiso our guide was Alexis. He is enthusiastic and interesting to listen to.Written 9 February 2025
- VerTheGreat0 contributionsGreat Tour - Hope you get Alexis!Alexis was our guide — because of him the tour was so good! Very helpful, friendly, funny, and super knowledgeable of all things you’d want to know. Great recommendations. The lineup of the tour was well thought out. The winery tasting was not our style, chocolate wine, sweet wine, etc, but they had some delightful bottles for sale. Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar were gorgeous, and walking tour was fun and informative. Alexis clearly knew just what he was doing, very competent. We found his English easy to understand. Kind of amazing that he was able to keep a bus full of all different tourists in line lol. And seamlessly switch from one language to another. Great tour! If you do this, hope you get Alexis!Written 7 February 2025
- BandPenn0 contributionsA Good Evening with an Opportunity for ImprovementsThe tour was mostly driven with two stops: Bicentennial Park and Santa Lucia Hill. Luis did a good job with his commentary, but stops to walk around Plaza des Armas and the Presidential Palace areas (rather than drive-bys) would have been nice. On the dinner and show, my wife and I tend to avoid folklore shows (this was a last minute substitution for another tour that was canceled). The dinners tend to be mediocre and the shows hokey. This one’s food was quite good and plentiful. The show was OK. They had music, song, and dances from the four parts of the Chilean nation – South, Central, North, and Rapa Nui (Easter Island). The challenge for us was the time in-between each section to allow for costume changes. The MC sang a pop song and went around the room asking everyone where they were from. They also had a tribute to couples celebrating their anniversaries and people celebrating birthdays. The transitions got pretty hokey. The first three parts of the main music and dancing (South, Central, and North Chile) had some good traditional music and dancing. However, the part on Rapa Nui was pretty over the top, with scantily clad women and men and war dances. I suspect a Rapa Nui native might object. In summary, with some improvements, the tour was good. If you like folklore shows, you should like this one.Written 7 February 2025
- saahebg20230 contributionsGreat tour!!Jhodad did an excellent job leading the tour! He was attentive and knowledgeable! His team was very helpful and a special shoutout to Julio who was an amazing driver! Thank you to all for a great tour!Written 3 February 2025
- N7813HFneilm0 contributionsProfessional & courteousOur local guide Jhodad Chavez is simply amazing! Good English and humour. On point and on time. Always willing to help and answer question.Written 3 February 2025
- billp7970 contributionsGreat day and experienceThe trip was amazing with a great view through the Andes. Can’t believe how light blue the reservoir was. Our guide Edison was so knowledable. To drive all the switchbacks was a challenge and his ability to take the switchbacks on was great. We made stops to take pictures as promised. Lunch as promissed was great and not part of the tour as promissed. I wish the “picnic” was overlooking the mountains and resevoir and probably should not have been held 15 minutes after lunch. Pickup and length of tour were as promissedWritten 3 February 2025

The trip was more of a taxi ride. We were picked up after 9 and done at 2pm. This was not a full day tour. The guide dead new and not knowledgeable about where we were going.

Our cruise was meant to end in San Antonio but due to high waves our ship had to dock in Valparaiso instead. The tour company was already aware of the issue when I called and simply moved the pickup to Valparaiso instead. They waited for us for 3 hours until we could clear customs in the new location and they adjusted the tour so we could still see all the highlights. They were simply amazing and lovely people. For us Valparaiso was the highlight with so many hillside lookout points, wall art, historical buildings and lovely old streets. Vina del Mar was interesting to see as a modern city compared to Valparaiso right next to it but it did not have the charm of Valparaiso and I am happy we spent much less time there. The Casablanca wine region is very beautiful and it was a lovely drive. We stopped at a winery for an interesting tour followed by a wine tasting which gave us a good introduction to Chilean wine. The view was spectacular from the winery. Our guides also pointed out some interesting sights in Santiago as they drove us to our hotel and gave us good pointers and suggestions for our stay. We loved the day and highly recommend this tour.

This is not a professional tour co. We waited well over an hour. No signs looking for us, 2 guys in sweat suits showed up. We are lucky they didn’t kidnap us. We drive up to 3-4 “things to see” our driver had never given a tour before. 7-8 hour tour was really a ride to the airport and a stop a vineyard, pretty sure they do the tasting for free. Totaling 4 hours. Do not recommend

Thank you for your comment, it's unfortunate you didn't enjoy the tour, however, saying "We are lucky they didn’t kidnap us" it's incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful.

Really nice staff. Wine was great. They went above and beyond in customer service - I had forgotten to schedule my COVID test for travel, so I thought I couldn't show up for tour. They fixed all the logistics of the test for me, and when I got back to hotel, a medical professional was waiting for me to take the test. I was thoroughly impressed with this service.
