What to Expect
This Cajon del Maipo tour from Santiago begins with hotel pickup. Your private driver expertly handles the curving road up through the mountains while you admire the passing scenery. After a pitstop in the town of San Jose de Maipo to stretch your legs and optionally buy snacks, finish up the drive to El Morado Natural Monument of Valle de las Arenas (weather dependent). Upon arrival, follow your dedicated guide up the rocky slopes of the Andes Mountains en route to the El Morado Glacier. Your ascent is rewarded with a stunning landscape and picnic lunch. This hike was somewhat difficult as there was a lot of incline in some parts. I struggled coming back down in tennis shoes sliding on the rocks so I highly recommend non-slip hiking boots! Our guide was very good and the views made the hard work well worth it. The prettiest hike
