While Beijing is really a very large city, to ensure the morning pick-up going smoothly as scheduled, we suggest you choose centrally located downtown hotels. If the location of your hotel is beyond our free pick-up range, you may need to pay for extra mile transfers or get to an appointed meeting point. For any pick-up issues, your one-on-one travel consultant is ready to help anytime.
- Group Size: About 9 people. There are chances that 5% of the tour groups will exceed 9 people but we will make proper arrangements.
- Important note: Entrance tickets of the Forbidden City are usually released online 7 days in advance and could be easily sold out. Kindly advise you to book the tour 8 days before since the ticket purchase is based on the real name policy.
- Since the Temple of Heaven is closed on Mondays, this tour designer carefully choose the visit to the Beihai Park instead of Temple of Heaven if your travel date happens to meet Monday.
- Departures are guaranteed with even two persons.

Our guide, Rocky, has been the best in guiding us around and we’re super glad to have chosen this trip for two reasons: Rocky’s passion to explain and availability to accommodate all the needs of the group (especially considering it was 3rd and there were tons of tourists and difficult to move around) and the fact that, without a guide, it would have been almost impossible to visit the forbidden city and the Great Wall by ourselves. We unfortunately chose the golden week to go which meant it was extra busy but our guide Rocky navigated the tour so we maximised what we saw. He also gave excellent commentary on the various sites. If you are going to spend a few days in Beijing, the best way to know the city os using a tour guide. Our guide Kevin was very nice person, with a lot of interesting informations about the places we were visiting. Informed us about the best places for pictures, and took very good pictures of us with the amazing wall landscape. During the ride to the wall we had a very interesting chat about China. Definetly Kevin was the best guide we ever had.

I just came back from doing the 12 day private tour from Travel China Guide. We started in Beijing, then continued to Xian, Chengdu, Guilin, Yangshuo & finally Shanghai. I will limit myself to the Beijing portion of the tour for this review, and will review the other cities separately.
I did not know what to expect since I'd never been to China before. I was hesitant about booking a tour online. We booked the private, no shopping tour.
I have to tell you that the trip was one of the best of my life. Starting with Angela, who was the person that I communicated with via email to coordinate all of the details of the trip. She was professional, courteous & helpful. She answered all of the questions precisely & quickly.
When we arrived in Beijing, we were greeted by Maggie, our tour guide at the airport. She was excellent. She took us to our private car, where they had bottled water waiting for us. Then, they drove us to our hotel, and checked in for us.
We had 3 nights in Beijing. On Day 2, we went to Tian'amen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. We also had a lovely lunch of Peking Duck. On Day 3, we went to the Badaling Great Wall, the Ming Tomb, and the Sacred Way. We also drove past the Bird's Nest stadium. On Day 4, we went to the Summer Palace, and a Hutong visit. We tool a bullet train to Xian.
The tours were well arranged, and very enjoyable. The hotel was great. Maggie was a great tour guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. We really enjoyed our time in Beijing and look forward to going back!

We booked a 7-day private tour of Beijing through Travel China Guide. The initial booking experience with our travel consultant, Abbey, was a very positive experience. Abbey was very responsive and was able to answer all of our questions and ease our concerns prior to arrival. She kept in constant communication and provided a lot of information regarding our trip, Beijing, what to pack, and where to dine.
Kevin, our guide, provided a very thorough history of all of the sites we visited. He was able to explain building architecture, culture, and tradition associated with many of the temples and sites we visited. In addition to being a great guide, Kevin also had a great sense of humor and was a pleasure to spend the week with.
Over the course of the week we visited: Beijing zoo, Beihai Park, a local hutong, Badaling Great Wall, Sacred Way and Ming’s Tomb, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, Confucius Temple, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Temple of Heaven, and Chuandixia Village. Kevin provided information on each site and was able to answer all of our questions. We enjoyed chatting with Kevin and hearing about current events in China as well. He really made the trip a great one!
Our trip was action packed and we will never forget the sites we visited, the history we learned from Kevin, and the amazing views from the top of the Great Wall. Our driver, Mr Lin, was also very professional and experienced with driving in Beijing. He was able to get us from “Point A” to “Point B” very quickly due to his knowledge of the roads in Beijing and great timing. We very much enjoyed Kevin and Mr. Lin and have recommended them to our friends that would like to visit Beijing.
I definitely recommend booking a tour with Travel China Guide in Beijing. The company, guide, and driver exceeded our expectations. We had the trip of a lifetime and will be returning to visit later this year (and will be asking for Kevin!)!

Totally enjoyed our small group tour of Beijing Summer Palace with our tour guide Candy. Candy filled us in all the history of the Palace and gave us interesting details on the Empress Dowager Cixi!

I booked this tour last minute and everything went smoothly. Candy was my tour guide and she was very fun to talk to. Although it was only 1 day, everything was perfect. Highly recommended tour. Had lots of fun during the day.
