Rooms were generous and well appointed. Food was very good, lots of choice and included local menu items. Staff were excellent, attentive and courteous. Security was not an Issue, never felt uneasy. The local population were welcoming and friendly. The Nile is the star, the ruins a wonderful support act that never failed to surprise you of the engineering and artistic talents of ancient Egyptians. Sonesta St George was the perfect way to travel. Highly recommended, as is a hot air balloon flight over the valley of the Queens.

I took the 7 nights cruise, and it was great. The suite was very clean, big and elegant. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. The food was fresh delicious and tasty. Luxurious ship, safe environment and great experience.

Just finished this 4 night cruise. The service and food were amazing. The staff were so attentive it was like they could read your mind. I would highly recommend this experience. We had a private tour guide and stayed an extra night. Well done

Ship was beautiful and classy. Food was excellent. Pool was cold, but area was amazing to lounge and read a book. The staff, however, exceeded my expectations. Some of the best service I've ever received. Would get us things "off menu" if we needed which was much appreciated when our bellies did too much indulging the day/night before. Would highly recommend this cruise!

The boat, food, staff were all awesome. Could not have asked for a better experience. We just returned from our August trip, which is low season with limited travelers, yet the staff was still at the top of their game, very friendly, and had tons of food and service, without low season limitations. Enjoyed every bit of the trip, tours, and boat.

What a fabulous time and an amazing cruise! The boat is beautiful and furnished with a lot of class...but still comfortable. The boat is very clean. The staff were superb! They were all so friendly, happy and helpful - it was wonderful. The food was amazing - we have never eaten so much. The variety of food on offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner was just stunning. They wash all food in bottled water so you can eat anything on offer without risk of tummy upsets. The stops were obviously great but the cruise itself was very memorable and we highly recommend it!

Great experience -lovely boat and good service . Food generally good but a few missteps . Egyptian night buffet very nice . Great way to go to see many temples. Shops on board seemed reasonable -especially liked the jewelry shop .

One of the more upscale boats on the Nile. Definitely upgrade to a suite-they are spacious. Service was impeccable-favorite moments were sitting on the pool deck with drinks and snacks. Loved both gift shops on the boat-so convenient with good prices. Very good guides and great organization. Food quality was very good and restaurant staff was excellent. Very fun goodie bags on New Years Eve.

Hany Refaat was an amazing tour guide- extremely knowledgeable, engaging and great company. We had a Presidential suite, and it was worth the upgrade. The facilities on board were great, the toilet was a little dated and Wi-Fi intermittent- small issues that had no impact on our overall enjoyment. We made good use of the the upper deck but the real 5 star attractions came with the guided tours and the scenery. A huge thank you to Hany who made our 30th Anniversary extra special. Well worth the effort and the money.

Always on the top my list is the place has to be clean and this was spotless! We upgraded to one of the suites and it was worth it! We saw the suite we were to have and you could not move around in it. I would ditch the fruit basket.The fruit was just too old and there was way too much for 2 people. Food, service we all good. THE BAD: 1- kids running around & picking at buffet 2- pool was freezing 3- dinner was serviced way too late. We had to get up by 7 and out the door by 8-8:30 am every morning to site see or you would miss it because the boat was leaving.We could have have dinner till 7:30 - 8:30 which was way too late for our stomachs to settle. Also we like a walk after dinner and you just could not do this. When docked the boats stay running. All you smelt was the fumes from our boat and others and trust me some of them had BLACK SMOKE coming out!! the NILE was filthy. We even saw a dead dog floating by on our last day in port. Cruising was the nicest part. 3 days is too short. This boat was to dock on its own and it did but due to the other boats all around us you could not enjoy the last afternoon on deck. AND our room ended up with non water view twice. Both nights we were kept awake from noice from the streets. We could not enjoy our 2 patio doors and amazing room because we looked at the street and not the Nile River both times. We had 1 day with Nile view. Not sure if you can ask about this when booking your room.

lovely boat, lovely cruise, no complaints about on board. Vegetarian friendly food. Off the boat, be warned that the horse carriage to the temple at Edfu is VERY dusty. But that was my favorite temple so don't skip it!

Our first trip to Egypt must include a cruise on the Nile River and we chose this itinerary (going down river, north, Aswan to Luxor) on the St George, a beautifully designed river boat. Although the weather was hot as expected for June, the ship was beautifully air conditioned, except for the top deck which encompassed the large pool, lounging area with wonderful 2-person cabanas, and bar and outdoor dining; a lovely place to go after hot and sandy touring. The rest of the quarters were beautifully decorated in elegant classical style, from the large lounge/bar at the entry level, to the lower level dining room (at the water level for great viewing as we cruised the Nile). The estate rooms were lovely, small but replete with stylish wooden furniture and teak wood accented bathroom. The bath/shower/sauna was a luxury. Service was consistently delightful, cheerful but not intrusive, and the dining room staff were attentive and indulgent. Mr Samir, the General Manager was very visible and checked in often with his guests. Food was delicious. The Chef inspired. The huge buffet (breakfast and lunch) offered multiple self serve options, more than our 3 days allowed us to try. Dinners were off the menu except the special evening which included an outdoor Egyptian theme buffet (not too warm in the evenings). All of the offerings were delicious (have to say that again). We didn’t use the spa/exercise area, we did plenty of walking daily during the antiquities tours. It was small but well appointed. Entertainment in the lounge every evening, although we didn’t participate since we had early morning departures to beat the heat. This was our first river cruise, we have only done ocean sailing (on Silver Seas and Seaborn), and this was a delight in every way.

This review is long over do. My husband and I traveled to Egypt during the pandemic. We took a 4 night- nile river cruise on the Sonesta st. George and it was lovely!! The manager was beyond accommodating and made our stay very special. We loved tea time on the deck and watching the sunset. My husband also enjoyed the the gym which he mentioned was clean. Cute shop on board as well. Truly amazing experience
