About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Shajukr0 contributionsLarge & Nice building but yet to be arrangedVery large and nice building built recently. Items are still in transformation stage from the old museums. Not yet officially opened but soft opened for visitors. Entry fee is 1,200 EGP for expat adults and kids can have student ticket for half the price.Written 30 December 2024
- vincenttD161TE0 contributionsSpoiling the visitors experienceMagnificent building only marred by typical Egyptian B.S. The Museum opens at 8.30 am but the main galleries don’t open until nine. Another 30 minutes standing in front of closed doors. The first thing you learn in Egypt is how to wait!Written 23 December 2024
- KAY B0 contributionsNot worth the moneyThe overall experience was ok. The staff is not well trained and bit rude. It’s just like old Egyptian museum but in bigger building. No new interactive experience. The the Abu Dhabi Louvre or even old Egyptian museum is better then grand museumWritten 22 December 2024
- dinan8830 contributionsHistorical placeThe museum was very huge and has 12 rooms containing a lot of monuments. Rooms were in the 3rd floor, the stairs that will take you to the room also has monuments on them to amuse you while going up. The museum also near the pyramids. Last time to enter the museum was 4 pm as the tour inside will took about 2 hours and the museum will be closed at 6 pmWritten 16 December 2024
- Trail431173320020 contributionsnice experienceCairo is one of the largest Cities in the world. this trip enhanced our knowledge of how cairo is and specially we were able to see musuems and other places which is of course wonderful experience, the Downtown is crowded and not clean, uptown is better and new city is lovely. the tour people helped us in so many ways , thank you very much for the nice experienceWritten 25 November 2024
- Voyager127471325590 contributionsLast day at the Grand Egyptian MuseumA splendid half day tour of the magnificent Grand Egyptian Museum. Fabulous architectural features reflecting the great Pyramids of Giza. Inside full of treasures brought to life by the clear explanations of Mohamed Osman. Mohamed Osman’s experience and historical knowledge made our trip more meaningful and understandable. We plundered his banks of knowledge and were richly rewarded. Sadly this was our last touring day but the GEM a fitting place to finish our exploration into ancient Egypt, We’re very grateful to the Egyptian Tours Portal for organising a very enjoyable and entertaining fortnightWritten 1 November 2024
- fcaslin0 contributionsFantastic tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum with Mr Walid. , expert EgyptologistWhat a fantastic tour !! Mr Walid , our Egyptologist guide , was so knowledgeable that he made the Grand Egyptian Museum come alive for us . His in depth explanation of Egyptian ancient history was fascinating and I would recommend him to anyone with an interest in history who wants to visit this phenomenal place !Written 30 October 2024
- tva061007150 contributionsGood driverWe had a nice driver who took us to Sakkara, Dahshur, and Memphis. It's highly recommended to get a car to avoid the heat. Thanks to Belal for showing us around!Written 28 October 2024
- joW6325NO0 contributionsGrand Egyptian Museum - Avoid Audio tour on expediaThe building itself is fantastic and once completed and fully open it will be a main attraction of Egypt but as of yet there is almost nothing to see. We paid for an audio tour on expedia thinking it included entry to the museum - it did not and once we got there we had to buy entry tickets. The guards were English speaking and were very helpful assisting us with this. The audio tour was a 7 minute AI WhatsApp voice message which I turned off after the 1st minute, AVOID PAYING FOR THIS AUDIO TOUR AT ALL COSTS. The museum has massive potential but I would recommend avoiding until completed. As of October 2024 it has a few statues and a decent pyramid view at the top of the stairs, if you view my 6 images you will probably see as much as I seen. But still, I consoled myself thinking I have paid them some money to get the project moving forward.Written 10 October 2024
- 190khadijan0 contributionsTripPositive experience, started in morning everything was smooth and the guide's explanation was great and the driver drove smoothlyWritten 28 September 2024
- 757bettyf0 contributionsSoft Opening, but worth the visitewe booked this tour with Emo Travel. They picked us up from the hotel in Cairo and drove us to the GEM. Once there you have your ticket vouchers for the entry and guided tour. We visited the Tut Experience, is not historical, just a good video production. But the main thing is the Main Staircase, that takes you to different sections of life during the Pharaohs lives. Every thing is original, and at the end of the staircase you have a beautiful view of the Pyramids. They are adding new sections that you can visit. But even for the main hallway its worth the $15 a ticket. NOTE: they do not allow cameras, but you can take pictures with your phones.Written 4 June 2024
- marcusbL7998IZ0 contributionsThe guide and the driver made my day! I had a blast sightseeing so muchVery good guide who spoke English very well. It was very effective to have a private guide and a designated driver the whole day.Written 19 May 2024
- dottie5020 contributionsAwesome experienceVisited with Egypt to go tours , the museum is amazing and more is opening all the time, we had the immersive Tutankhamen experience and it was awesome , so realistic you felt you were back in time. Although it is not fully open a visit is Definitely recommendedWritten 16 May 2024
- TeddySoo0 contributionsNew museum not ready for visitorsThe Grand Egyptian Museum was newly opened and included in my private tour itinerary. The museum itself was huge and impressive. Interesting architecture and designs encapsulating the concepts and nuisances of ancient Egyptian culture and designs. The collection was dismay. Only the exhibition on the steps in the main lobby was available. The layout and display was dangerous as many artifacts were placed on the edge of steps, and visitors could easily fall while looking at them. The special show was not amazing. The technology was surprisingly not the latest and the contents were weak. I was expecting a strong story on King Tut but it was more like a visual display for kids. Perhaps the museum will be better in a few years when more exhibits are added and the show improved.Written 11 May 2024
- Erin M0 contributionsNot worth your time and money during the trial stageCurrently in it’s trial phase - absolute waste of money. The immersive experience is simply a 30min animated video that tells you nothing about the life of Tutankhamen. Sure the building is beautiful - but it should be free to enter at the moment given there is nearly nothing on display. They are throwing in a guided tour for free - but they are infrequent and we didn’t want to wait an hour given it takes less than that to see the number of items on display. Not worth the money or time at this point. So very disappointed.Written 26 March 2024
