- ishianka0 contributionsMust do in Egypt! We had an absolutely incredible experience on this tour! Everything was flawlessly organized, and our drivers went above and beyond—not only were they skilled navigators, but they also treated us to delicious homemade meals and even entertained us with live flute and drum performances. Spending the night in tents set up in the heart of the White Desert felt like something out of a dream—the surreal landscape was truly breathtaking. If you're visiting Egypt, this tour is an absolute must!Written 16 March 2025
- bogwurst0 contributionsthe different faces of the desert is amazing!i went solo but we were 9 in the van from cairo to bahariya oasis hotel. there were multiple vans full of campers on the way to bahariya and we all met in every gas station for toilet breaks and finally in the bahariya hotel for lunch. from bahariya to the desert we were split into smaller groups to fit the 4x4 suvs. all the 4x4 were still stopping together in every site like black desert, crystal mountain, agabat valley, sandboarding, white desert so it was fun coz it was a big group, mostly japanese kids in their 20s, 4 people from argentina, a french family, and a couple of korean men. ultimately we had 3 vans in our camp so 16 tourists + the 3 drivers. the tour was pretty organized, they send you information of what to bring and what to expect. i'd say the biggest thing i was iffy about was they only gave us a spoon for dinner - to eat the grilled chicken leg quarter. meaning you had to eat it by hand when you're all dirty from playing in the desert all day. would it kill them to provide forks? lol or at least tell us beforehand to bring our own cutlery if we don't like eating with our hands. anyway aside from that the rest was fine. even if it was cold they had fur lined sleeping bags and camel wool blankets for everyone. the day after they only serve breakfast, no lunch. after breakfast it was a short stop in a hotspring, then back to the hotel to transfer from the 4x4 back to the van and drive back to the city. there were 2 vans one was going to a giza drop off point and the cairo van that drops you near tahrir square. it was incredibly traffic when we got back to cairo i think it was 4pm bu the time they dumped us all in tahrir square and we all had to find our own way home. overall it was a memorable experience and it was fun meeting the other tourists. so even if you're alone, don't be afraid to book, you'll still be with a group! it was amazing to see the different faces of the desert, i highly recommend!Written 16 March 2025
- asiyahyul0 contributionsI will be back!It was an unplanned desert camping trip on my first Egypt visit. Before my airplane took off, I browsed the viator, and picked this trip. Amir, the trio organizer was very friendly. Although I canceled the trip 24 hours before because I didn't receive any prpe information, Amir made the effort and gave me discount, eventually his reasonable price won me back. In the desert, our safari desert guide Waheed, the "king of desert", is another highlight of the camping. He speaks good English, took us to unusual places to avoid crowd. He also cooks wonderful camp dinner including a ozone soup, delicious vegetables and chicken barbecue. He is also caring, funny, and honest. We sit around the camp fire drank the delicious tra he made and had the pleasant conversations about life. My heart was deeply touched when I saw the moon shines the desert, and when the stars covers the full sky at the middle of the night when moon goes away and the whole world is in absolute silence. I made a promise that I will come back again whenever the scene of the moon, stats, and the desert starts to fade from my memory. More to add is that this is a very safe trip because I am a female solo traveler.Written 13 March 2025
- taliam2520 contributionsIncredible guides, stunning views, made our Egypt tripThis tour absolutely made our Egypt trip. The guides were kind, funny, extremely knowledgeable, and were truly the gems of the excursion. The views in the white and black desert are unreal, and they made it so fun letting us sand board, stopping frequently and with interesting anecdotes, and cooking us a great meal. We had great conversations sitting by the fire, a fun time riding in the jeeps with the guide, and we were wowed by the stars at night. We were a group of four 20 year old girls and felt completely safe the whole time. I recommend to ANYONE going to Egypt who wants to do something unique and adventurous on their trip!Written 13 March 2025
- 448catalinaf0 contributionsInteresting, not for everyoneYou leave from Cairo and it's a 4-5 hour drive to the base camp already, with a 5-6am pick up time. You arrive, they explain what we are going to do on that day and the following one; they give us lunch (no drinks included, you can buy a water or coke there), very simple: a soup, some rice, bread, some stew (it was tasty but super basic). When we arrived they had lost power and water, which was annoying. When we finished eating, they divided the big group into smaller ones and assembled convoys with 4x4s to take us to the different landscapes. Again, 1-1.5hs trips between each one, first black dessert, then white, then stones and sand boarding. You spend 15 min in each to take pictures and look at it. Finally, we get to the camp site (just a specific site in the dessert), 2 jeeps together. the two drivers prepare the site with rugs and some cover, where they will cook us dinner (a stew). They provide the tents and sleeping bags, which are very warm! It went down to 9 degrees C and we weren't cold. **Keep in mind, you go to the bathroom for 1 and 2 right there in the sand. Not for everyone. Next day, we woke up, they give us breakfast (quite varied for the circumstances), we drove back to base (we had the option to go to a hot spring but we didn't go, it didn't seem to last to long anyways since everyone arrived 15min after us) to later get back to Cairo. It's not a bad experience but I wouldn't do it again, too much time spent driving for just a couple of pretty pictures of desert.Written 12 March 2025
- Georgia S0 contributionsA must do tourThis trip was well worth the money. As a teenage girl traveling with one other friend, we felt extremely safe and well cared for. It was well organized, fun, productive, and unique. Our tour guides were amazing as well, Hazem being super friendly and welcoming. Food was great for desert food. The preparation was fantastic and they knew exactly what they were doing. I highly recommend this tour as it was truly one of the best days of my life! It would be a mistake to not book this tour while in Cairo.Written 12 March 2025

- mahinz20230 contributionsAmazing Tour and Guide!Words can’t describe how amazing this trip was. Waheed was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and made sure that we had amazing views. He cooked a delicious dinner with both vegetarian and gluten free options. The desert is also breathtaking. I would highly recommend this experience. I would recommend packing multiple articles of clothing though as it can be quite sandy in the desert and the weather can get quite cold.Written 9 March 2025

It was truly an amazing experience. This was the best memory I have of Egypt, even better than visiting the pyramids, museums, etc. The people on this tour were super-nice, I made friends and met some great people. The guide was kind, prepared everything for us, and met my special requests without exception. When I called after booking to let him know that I wanted to go to two additional places that were not on the plan, he did not forget to organize them for me(But the plan was enjoyable enough without the additions.). I can't thank you enough. They had prepared warm bedding for us so that we would not be cold when we slept under the stars. This allowed me to sleep comfortably and securely under the night sky. The starry sky is very beautiful. It is a good idea to ask your tour guide about travel precautions, what to bring, etc. before you leave your own country. I heard about it after I arrived in Egypt (one day before the tour) and it told me what I should bring, but I couldn't do anything. Still, what I had brought was sufficient, though.Written 3 March 2025

We asked for 5 days a personalized trip in Siwa and White Desert. The firm is really very well managed and the manager Mr. Amir was really great in answering all our needs. He provide us a good car with a professional driver (thanks Mr Hisam) that is essential in Egypt (in january 2024 you cannot drive by your own because there are many military ckeck-point in the Siwa area, and also because, believe me, you don't want to drive in Egypt!!!).
I was particulary satisfied with the quality of all the collaborator of Mr. Amir, and in particular Mr. Amh the guide in Siwa, one of the best Egyptologist we have ever met.
In Siwa we had a dune safary with Mr. Nassir, that was really outstanding, with a bath in a hot spring in the middle of a tiny oasys, and a tea at the sunset tea on the sand.
In Siwa we appreciated also the visit of the old town (Shali Fortress, build with mud and salt crystal), the archeological sites that date back the ancient egyptians, and the bath in the salt lake.
In White Desert we went in a sleep over in the desert with Mr. Hazim, an incredible guide with such a deep knowledge of the desert (and a very good cook): he is definetely one of the best guide you can have, with a very good english. Safary in the white desert, with the dinner at sunset is one the best experience you can have!
White Desert Travel (Ahmed Safari is the name of the company) provide us a great accomodation in Siwa (Qasr El Salem hotel). The secondo hotel in Bahariya (Ahmed Safary camp) was ok for one night, but I wouldn't choose for a longer stay (very small room that need renovation).
Great trip that I would definetely reccomend! Mr. Amir a very reliable person.

Amir was an excellent guide! He took us to all of the sites we wanted to see and let us make our own plan. We could start the day as early as we wanted and he always checked with us to make sure we were happy with our tour.
He replies very quickly in WhatsApp and has great communication. He allows you to pay at the end of the tour so you don’t have to worry about if the company is legitimate or not.
He also arranged a guide to take us to the Pyramids in Giza when we returned from Siwa.
I recommend anyone wanting to come to Egypt, no matter what you want to see, send Amir a message and he will make it happen for you!

A memorable journey to Siwa Oasis in the Sahara Desert, Egypt
When I made the decision to dedicate three precious days of my 10-day trip to Egypt to visit Siwa Oasis, I had my reservations. After spending a day merely sitting in a moving car, I began to question whether my choice was the right one. However, on the second day, my experiences at the Mountain of Dead, Oracle Temple, and Sati reignited my emotions. By noon, I was overcome with joy as I immersed myself in the Salt Lake I had longed to see. I believed it was a worthwhile use of my time. Nevertheless, the pinnacle of my trip was the exploration of the Sahara Desert. I struggle to find adequate words to describe the sheer beauty I encountered; it surpassed even my wildest imagination. It was an extraordinary tour that showcased awe-inspiring natural landscapes. Adding a touch of emotion to the memorable journey: It was an incredibly special and unforgettable experience, made even more remarkable by saving the best for last. I am overwhelmed with deep gratitude towards the desert driver, who skillfully guided me through the vast expanse of the Sahara Desert, evoking an indescribable feeling of pure bliss as if I were dancing in harmony with the sand dunes. The sheer magnificence of witnessing the sunset, accompanied by the aroma of freshly brewed tea and the taste of succulent fruits, stirred my soul to its core. It was a truly awe-inspiring and magical moment that will forever be etched in my heart.

I went to Siwa right away after I arrived in Egypt and it made me fall in love with Egypt even easier.
After other cities I went after that, now I can say Siwa is most unique, surreal place in Egypt.
And all this good memories and experiences that I could get was, for sure, thanks to Amir. (and of course, Hesham)
Communication with Amir was fast and clear and Hesham, the best driver, was friendly and so considerate.
They cared me all day all the time for 2nights 3days and I felt they treated me their best.
Siwa city tour guide was friendly and professional with fluent English, Safari jeep driver gave me most exciting moment with his perfect driving skill.
If you think all the cities in Egypt look similar or if you feel like you are now familiar with Egypt, it’s time for you to head for Siwa and this tour will definitely complete your experience. In

The trip is fascinating and well-organized by Amir. The crew selected by Amir is amazing and we can't ask for better guides throughout the trip.
Hesham, the driver, is meticulous and responsible for making sure our program is well adhered to. He's attentive to our needs and ensuring we are well taken care of, be it food, water or accommodation.
Nasir 33 of Desert Safari at the Great Sand Sea is one of the best drivers you can have. His maneuvering of the sand dunes is unparalleled.. The Siwan tea he brewed is one of the best we have drunk.
Ahmad Hamza, the guide for Historical Tour of Siwa, spoke in flawless English. He's knowledgeable about the world too. He spoke and explained to us the history of Siwa with passion and gusto. We couldn't ask for a better guide. He has brought Siwa to live through his stories. Siwa is not only a location, but a way of life.
The accommodation at Siwa, Qasr El Salam, is a gem and of unique character. It is clean and hygienic. It also serves up a simple hearty breakfast.
Overall, 10/10 recommend.

It was beyond excellent. The rep picked us from home and dropped us at the bus station after buying us snacks. We stayed at qasr el salam hotel and it was beautiful. The food was amazing and the guides were knowledgeable. We had a lot of laughter at the language barrier. Desert safari, sunsets, salt lake were out of this world. All the people taking care of us made us feel like family. White desert tours have impressed us with this one

This was a very well organized and wonderful tour of Siwa. Our guides, Amir and Mohamed made sure everything was taken care of and communicated all of the details of the trip with my friend and I. And while we saw a lot during the short time there, I honestly wish I’d booked an extra day or two. Siwa ended up being one of my favorite cities while visiting Egypt. It has a calm/ peaceful vibe. The people were very friendly, food was great and there was no real sense of urgency with anything (compared to Cairo). We had an amazing time on the desert safari tour and in the salt lakes and learning about the history of Siwa. Would definitely go back in the near future.
