About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:

- W7804OGrichardb0 contributionsCairo and Nile CruiseAbsolutely brilliant sight-seeing trip with Reflections Travel (found through Tripadviser, based in Luxor). Package did not include international flights but these were easy to book separately with EGYPTAIR. All transfers from/to airports + internal flights, were included. Hotel accommodation was 5* as was the Nile cruise (Kahila). The tours included the main attractions for Cairo and the Nile Cruise (unlike many other packages in which the tours on the cruise were optional extras). The price was good value. We had a busy full day in Cairo (2 nights) including Giza pyramids, the Sphinx, Egyptian museum with our guide, Bilan, who was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. (Having a guide appears to be essential not only for their knowledge in Egyptology but also for their advice on tipping and protection from excessive badgering from locals). Our flight to Luxor was 6am(!) on the third day. We were met by our guide for the day at the airport and taken to Karnak temple, then Luxor temple before checking in at our cruise boat before lunch. Again, the guide was a very knowledge and highly trained Egyptologist. Once on the boat, we met with Roshdy Khodery, our guide for the rest of our cruise. Roshdy speaks very good English, is a very knowledgeable and experienced Egyptologist and is very easy to talk to, with a good sense of humour. Being November, the cruise was by no means fully booked, and we were fortunate (as with our previous guides) that Roshdy was solely looking after our small group of four. He looked after us very well throughout, discussing the daily itinerary with as well as optional extras. As regards the latter, we did do a couple of optional extras (Abu Simbel temple - 3-4 hour drive, setting off at 4am and a small boat trip up to a Nubian village on the other side of the river). Both were well worthwhile and we never felt any undue pressure to agree to these. Included in the itinerary were: The Valley of the Kings (going into 3 tombs), Hatshepsut temple, Colossi of Memnon (2nd day, while still docked in Luxor) Edfu and Kom Ombo temples. (3rd day further up the Nile) Unfinished Obelisk, Temple of Philae and High Aswan Dam (scheduled for 4th day, whilst in Aswan but we went to Abu Simbel temple on the 4th day instead and went to these Aswan sights on the 5th before flying back to Cairo) Back in Cairo, we were met and transferred to Le Passage, a 5* hotel at the airport. We could have done another morning of sight-seeing in Cairo, which Roshdy would have arranged but decided to relax at the hotel before our flight back to Heathrow in the afternoon. Check out was 12 noon but the hotel reception were happy for us to use our rooms until 2pm. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable trip with Reflections Travel and very good tour guides, especially our main tour guide, Roshdy.Written 29 November 2024
- margaretrT7030OU0 contributionsGreat holiday Exotica / Planet ToursWe had a great trip with Mohamed of Planet Tours as our guide. He guided us through our trip and pointing out the highlights at all of our stops. He had a sense of humor and appeared to enjoy his job and his country. He told us how to deal with beggers. Where to buy quality souvenirs. He even made arrangements for us to purchase a suitcase to get our extra shopping home! Yes we made the traditional shopping stops that guides I assume get a kick back from. All our accommodations where okay, Nothing over the top a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Our only issue was we where a party of 3 wanting to roon together. They always splitting us up into 2 rooms. Mohamed worked with us to arrange rooms to accommodate all 3 of us. Food on the cruise and the all inclusive resort was okay, again nothing special. Buffet style meals hot and fresh. We never got the dreaded travelers diarrhea. Stayed away from salads and fruit. Traveling throughout Egypt was on a full sized tour buses. Bus drivers had water and pop for sale if you needed. Bus had a toilet for peeing only. Going to a country of different culture and language would only travel with a tour company.Written 18 November 2024
- lauratH1452NH0 contributionsOutstanding Brief Tour of Cairo and Surrounding AreaOur experience with Reflections Travel was outstanding. We were a group of 6 and the company created a custom itinerary based on our brief stay of 2 days, 3 nights. We were booked at the Hilton Ramses on the Nile River which was a great location about 40 minutes from the airport and centrally located in downtown Cairo. The breakfast was included and delicious. The hotel social spaces were beautiful although the room itself was quite dated. Ask for a room overlooking the Nile. Our tour guide could not be better. Rasha was delightful, knowledgable, flexible and so very personable. She maximized our short time frame taking us to Saqqara Necropolis, Memphis, Giza Pyramids and Sphinx and the old Egyptian Museum that houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world, as well as the Hanging Church, the oldest Christian Church in Africa (2nd C.) We ate lunch at two fabulous restaurants- one new and one very old. I would highly recommend Reflections Travel and especially Rasha as your guide. Our driver, Mohammed was also wonderful- always prompt, helpful and friendly. We ended our two days feeling like we had made two wonderful friends in Cairo!Written 12 November 2024
- lindasbarnett0 contributionsViking Cruises Pharaohs and Pyramids tour is a must!We just returned from the best trip of our life! It was the Viking Cruises Pharaohs and Pyramids Tour from October 27 to November 7 on the Aton The sites that we saw were expertly chosen. One day to the other was " the highlight of the trip". The accommodations at the Fairmont and the Intercontinental in Cairo were fabulous. The Aton was a wonderful river boat, very clean with spacious rooms, fine dining and excellent service. Our cruise director Ana was so kind and enthusiastic. Our room steward Hassan kept everything meticulously clean and tidy. Our desk agent Mustafa went the extra mile to assist us with anything and everything. The three guides, Amin, Manal and Hassan were experts. Hassan was with us throughout our trip. Not only was he a respected archeologist and Egyptologist, but he shared his personal favorites with us at each stop. He watched out for us. Hassan was so enthusiastic about the sites we saw and Egypt in general. He could not have done a better job showing us his country! At the airport our Viking representative, Girgis Nabil, met us right at the van and helped us tremendously with navigating the complicated check in. He kept us informed every step of the way and didn't let anyone "crowd us out" in lines. In all, Viking has come through yet again with wonderful accommodations, service, and sites. I highly recommend this tour!Written 8 November 2024

- janmB8978GQ0 contributionsReflection Travel delivers with serviceOur 8 day/7 night Pyramids and Nile Cruise with Reflections Travel was so well planned and exceeded all expectations. We were met at all airports and the hotels in Cairo were excellent. We always had a driver with our guide which made it so much easier to converse. The cruise on the Nile was on the Monte Carlo where service and food were plentiful. Worth noting, drinks were extra and the ship lacks USB ports, if that is important to you for charging your devices. We were in constanta communication with WhatsApp. Our guide in Cairo, Maior (I believe), did a great job taking us to the pyramids, museum and Coptic area. It was a full day, but we covered the main attractions with enough time at each. Abdo, our Nile cruise guide was absolutely amazing with excellent English. His knowledge of Egyptian history was incredible and his enthusiasm for sharing was infectious. He hit all the high points at each site plus more. We were given ample time to explore on our own if we wanted. He also answered all our questions and gave us insight into Egypt’s relationship with its neighbors. Very enlightening. And for those who are questioning whether Egypt is a safe place to be during these troubling times, let me just say that we always felt safe. Don’t pass this up.Written 28 March 2024
- Syloptimatium0 contributionsA wonderfully curated tour in EgyptIf you’d like to experience the highlights of Egypt, with great guides, reliable transportation, and quality accommodation, then this is for you! Having decided to take a trip to Egypt, I had undertaken extensive research before deciding on Reflections travel. Ali tailored the tour according to my preferences and I must say he did a fantastic job in choosing the right accommodation, cruise, and fantastic guides (Sam, Roshdy) who had excellent command of English for my private tour. He (Ali) was always available to communicate via messaging for smoothing out a few issues that had come up unexpectedly during the trip, and also made the time to meet face to face at one point to check in and make sure all was well which I appreciated. I’ll point out a few highlights of this trip: Upon arrival in Cairo, a representative was waiting for me as I stepped off the plane and assisted with the process through immigration/customs all the way to getting a SIM card and meeting my private driver. This was beyond expectations and made the arrival process frictionless. The Luxor-Aswan portion of the journey was really nice and relaxing. The Nile cruise Ali had selected was truly 5* and deluxe: clean, comfortable, and the service by the friendly cruise staff was faultless. My tour guide for this leg of the journey was Roshdy - he is so knowledgeable, helpful, personable, and informative, a true gem! Roshdy put in the effort to ensure I was comfortable and checked in to ensure his customer was satisfied. Clearly he is an experienced guide who is motivated in his role and always brought a positive attitude - for example when I needed something from a store, he made sure we took a detour so I would have access to what I needed. He was also knowledgeable about the sites and helped to take some really good pictures! I must also mention the drivers - I was floored by the drivers in Luxor and Aswan who were incredibly professional with very well maintained vehicles - with whom I always felt safe with on the roads (very important with the amount of time spent on the roads)!Written 3 March 2024
- Sightsee3444640 contributionsFantastic day and fantastic guideWe had a private tour of all the Cairo must see sites. Our guide “Sam” was knowledgeable and passionate about the history, and our driver was an expert in the Cairo traffic! Not only did Sam provide the information we needed but he also took care of the logistics (tickets, checks, etc) which enabled us to cover everything in the one day, important if you are short of time. I highly recommend Reflections and the private tour we took (Museum, Pyramids, Sphinx, Camel ride). They made all the arrangements and we were able to concentrate on the history and did not stress about the admin.Written 28 January 2024
- nevink7760 contributions8 days egypt tourAs a family (2 adults, 2 children), we participated in an 8-day Cairo, Luxor and Aswan cruise from Cairo through the Get Your Guide website. We would like to thank Zeinab for her excellent and dedicated work. We could reach her at any time when we encountered problems and she solved our problems. He informed us of about next day trips and the trips were well planned. Our tour guide in Cairo, Mahmoud, is also a great guide. He was kind, knowledgeable, and worked hard to ensure we had a good time. We thank him very much too and strongly recommended him who would like to visit Cairo. We will comment again later about Luxor and other days of the trip.Written 23 January 2024
- tonycU2334IJ0 contributionsA patchwork of great individual toursThe tour guides for this trip are excellent. Sam in Cairo and Barry for the Aswan to Luxor cruise are knowledgeable and helpful, going above and beyond. Truly wonderful experience with the individual tours. But be advised that this is really three tours patched together- Cairo, then the Nile cruise, then Cairo again. I found Reflections poor at communicating the logistics, and they even changed one of my travel options without telling me. The individual tours are operators are 5 star, but the poor organisation and communication from the central office tarnished an otherwise wonderful experienceWritten 18 January 2024
- christianmH9123MH0 contributionsWonderful experienceIt was a wonderful experience visiting Egypt with reflections travel. My tour guides throughout the trip were Sam in Cairo, Ahmed in Aswan, and Sayed in Luxor. All of these folks were very kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt’s history. They always made themselves available for any need I had and I’m grateful for how easy and comfortable they made the trip. I learned so much at each stop and truly got to experience the magic that Egypt has to offer. The tour company also provided around the clock support and were able to address any questions I had.Written 8 November 2023
- martin a0 contributionsBest tour ever!!Sam, our tour guide, was most knowledgeable about all things ancient Egypt. We went on a tour 2 days prior with another guide but learned so much more with Sam. My husband is a huge enthusiast of ancient Egypt and has studied and read many book regarding the history of Egypt. He KNOWS a lot!! Sam has to be on his toes and he was. He was able to answer all of his many questions along the tour and taught him many things he did not know about Egypt. We toured the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Hanging Church, saw the hiding place of Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the Egyptian Museum. We also had a wonderful lunch included in the tour. Also our driver was excellent. We enjoyed our time with Sam so much so, we will book another tour with him next week to see Old Cairo when we return to Giza after our cruise😀👍🏽🙌🏽Written 18 October 2023

- jenniferhK3338NB0 contributionsGreat experience of a Nile River cruiseRoshdy was our guide for 5 days/4 nights Nile River cruise with a private guide. He was very good, spoke very good English and very knowledgeable in Egyptian history. It’s amazing how he could keep facts of all those gods straight. He always made sure we were comfortable and gave informations in advance, so we could plan out a day. We toured 3 places that were included in the package with another tour group a day before. So, Roshdy took us to different sites, including Dandara. Habu Temple/ Deir El- Medina which were all very nice. Of course, we needed to pay extra for these tours, but they were worth it. Another must see place is Nobula Village. Don’t miss out this one. Inhabitants are descendants of migrants from Africa and Sudan. Their houses are very colorful and it takes about 20 mins boat ride with nice scenery. He also arranged a transportation for us from the cruise ship to the airport. Thank you Roshdy for a wonderful experience. The ship was old , but clean. Food was good. Staffs were all very friendly,Written 3 October 2023

We specifically chose a tour that would take in not just the big guns of the pyramid world at Giza but the lesser known bent, red, and step pyramids at Sakkara and Dahshur. We even saw (from a distance) the broken pyramid, which is not open to the public, and our guide Sam told us a little bit about this pyramid too.
The reviews of this company are good for a reason-they are easily contactable on Whatsapp and email, their prices are reasonable, and their guides and drivers courteous. Thank you Sam and Muhammad.

We had booked a day tour to the Giza pyramids, Saqqara and Dashur to follow on from our Nile cruise, which I reviewed recently. Following my review which criticised Reflections I received no response. Do they care? Probably not, however in this review I have no issues. We were met by our guide Mohamed Mamoud aka, Meko and our driver, also Mohamed, perfectly on time and transferred to our hotel. The following morning we left early for Dashur, our first stop. Here we visited the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid. In the distance we could see the Black Pyramid, which has substantially collapsed. The 3 Pyramids were all attributed King Seferu abou 2600 BCE. Next was a visit to Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt to see the imposing statue of Ramses ll and the 2nd largest sphinx in Egypt. These were wonderful to view. Next was Saqqara and the oldest stone building on the planet. This area is a necropolis for Memphis. The Step pyramid Of Djoser is being restored slowly. I last saw it 10 years ago and the has been considerable progress made. Several of the other tombs are now open for viewing. Off to Giza for the best known of Egypts 124 pyramids. Even though I'd been here on two previous occasions, the wow factor is still there. A visit to the Solar Boat museum is well worth the extra money of 100 Egyptian pounds for the two of us. Mohamed organised a camel ride for us to view the pyramids from the desert. Is that worth doing? I could honestly say no, but my wife enjoyed it very much, but each to their own. It was a great day and I can thoroughly recommend this day tour.
