- JR00 contributionsAkhnaton Carpet School - Great place to purchase a handmade silk rug in GizaLove the Akhnaton Carpet School! They teach young kids from local families a trade to help them through life. What a great concept. We toured their awesome facility as part of our Gate1 tour. We saw the process from spinning the silk from the silk worms, to the actual looping of the carpets. It was inspiring watching the young children creating such unique masterpieces. We purchased a beautiful silk rug and love it! Not only do you get a gorgeous rug, but you are helping the community and future generations to be financially independent.Written 19 December 2022
- Rudy62780 contributionsFull Day Tour with Mo Salah (no, not the footballer!)I had a good day out with Mo Salah for my long-awaited first visit to see the pyramids. He was punctual (which I value highly) as well as friendly from the outset so we were off to a good start! It was quite a packed day involving four separate stops (albeit relatively close to one another), but Mo's calm and relaxed approach made things go very smoothly. Mo was also really good at taking those really cheesy photos that are undoubtedly a must-do when visiting Giza for the first time. You may cringe at the time but you'll surely appreciate the photos later! I booked via Emo Tours because they were one of very few providers that didn't ridiculously inflate prices for solo travellers, and also because they had very good reviews. All in all, a successful visit to see the many pyramids in the area - highly recommended!Written 3 March 2019
- Brock E0 contributionsExcellent Trip with MO SalahExcellent trip! MO Salah was always in touch and contacted us the day prior to ensure he knew where to pick us up in the morning. Our day started with a traditional Egyptian breakfast before starting the tour. I have to say that he is like a walking encyclopedia. He explained the history of all of the sites and answered all of my questions. Besides the sites mentioned on the tour, we also stopped by a carpet and papyrus shop. The option is yours if you would like to purchase anything, but I have to say that the work is of high quality. We ended the day with a traditional Egyptian dinner: kabobs, grilled chicken, rice, and salad. I highly recommend this trip and our guide!Written 1 March 2019
- Sted0 contributionsMo Salah was Amazing!!I cannot say enough about our amazing tours with Mo Salah this week! I took 3 tours (Alexandria, Giza/Sakkara/Dahshour/Memphis, and Egyptian Museum/Citadel), all with Mo Salah. He was always on-time, super friendly, and very knowledgeable. He helped us see and learn about all the interesting information that each site had to offer. He also helped us avoid tourist traps, etc. He took us to some great spots for lunch, too. We booked all of our tours through Emo Tours, who referred Mo Salah to us. We can't thank them enough...he was wonderful! If you book through Emo Tours (which I highly recommend), be sure to ask for Mo Salah. You won't be disappointed.Written 24 February 2019
- Alvy_Advisor0 contributionsGood. It Didn't Stop For Any Unwanted Shopping ExperienceWhat I like about this tour: - Private tour. - My guide, Aly didn't take me to any unwanted 'disguise' shopping experience that usually other tours trying to trick their guests. - Picked me from the airport but willing to drop me in Giza. - Good informative experience. What I don't like about this tour: - All entrance fees not included (just realized with the price I paid, other companies include the entrance fees). - Wasted 40 minutes trying to find the guide at the airport. - Although it says 'snack included' but the guide didn't buy my any snacks. - Although it says 'lunch included' but the guide didn't take me to lunch.Written 24 February 2019
- Nomad354140 contributionslate but fineThey were scheduled to arrive at 8, no show and no call. By 8:30 I called them, no one answer, emailed-they never answered. I started looking for another tour to book when the guide came at 9. To his credit, it was the company that put 9am I saw his email, I showed him my 8am pick up email too. The tour was fine, I wish it had started on a better note. They never apologized, they operate under a different name and my tour with them days later was at a wrong time as well.Written 20 February 2019
- Brenda R0 contributionsBe careful who you book withThe show itself was entertaining however the booking company we used were not good. From the moment we stepped in the van they kept trying to sell us other packages using them, it was relentless.Written 16 February 2019

- amsherry0 contributionsUnforgettable!Had an awesome experience in Cairo and Giza, expertly led by our outstanding guide Mahmoud and a very professional and safe driver. The thoroughly-packed day itinerary highlighted Memphis, Giza, the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and Bazaar and allowed the opportunity to take a relaxing dinner cruise on the Nile and enjoy the sights and sounds of Cairo at night. The explanations, insights, and attention-to-detail provided by Mahmoud made such a tremendous difference on this quick weekend trip. Clearly, two days were not enough, but i"ll return.Written 21 April 2018
- 0 contributionsWhoa ! Amazing day in CairoThis was one of most amazing days of my life. Our tourguide was Mohamed Hamed. Mohamed was so awesome. He picked us up on time and before we left, he explained what we were doing and asked us if we needed anything. Although we were hungry, my wife wanted to get to the activities. Traffic in Cairo is crazy, and after a long ride to Giza, we started to get hungry. Mohamed stopped at a local restaurant and got us some amazing breakfast. The sandwiches were the best I have ever had and the falafel was so tasty ! We filled up and proceeded to the first location. Quad biking is always fun, but I have never done it in the desert. Mohamed gave us clear directions in English and checked all of our equipment for safety. He even gave us each a desert scarf for the ride ! The ride on bikes through the desert was amazing. We sped through the sand dunes like professionals. When my wife was scared to go fast, Mohamed went slow to make sure she was comfortable. We got to the first panoramic site and got some amazing pictures. Mohamed is also a great photographer !! He got great shots of us and then we took off again for another ride. We sped all through the desert, stopping occasionally for more pictures and enjoying the afternoon. After we returned he prepared us for the next activity. I am a big man and not scared of anything. However a camel is an adventure. This monstrous animal was not happy to see me and I was a bit nervous to hop on its back. Mohamed explained how the camel moves, and how I should mount it. It actually was much simpler than I thought ! We rode camels through the desert and had the best sunset moments for pictures. I must say that I have never seen anything like that and Mohamed treated me like a brother the whole time. After we got back to the base, he sent us all the extra pictures and videos he took and we returned to the hotel right on time. Mohamed was an amazing guide and the activities were PERFECT. If you decide to come to Cairo, you must do this activity with Koki tours and request Mohamed Hamed & Mr. Help. A great team to tackle the day. You will not be disappointed.Written 18 March 2018
- 0 contributionsAmazing VacationLet me start by saying that me and my husband are AMERICAN. From the east coast. This was the BEST trip ever. We have travelled all over the world and have never been treated so well. Mohammed was PERFECT, PROFESSIONAL, and PUNCTUAL. Everything he did was the best. He explained everything in perfect English and translated every word when people spoke to us. He explained every event and prepared us for each activity. Our day began with his timely arrival to our hotel. He explained the drive time and provided additional water for us. During the drive, he provided information about the city and buildings; as well as cultural pearls to help during our trip. The ride was actually very brief considering the immense traffic. We stopped for a quick snack (the most amazing falafel) and proceeded to the location for the desert 4 wheeling. Although this Giza neighborhood was very bustling, Mohammed took the time to make sure we were comfortable with the equipment and the environment. We sped off for the adventure. I drove slow, but my husband encouraged me to drive a bit faster so we would not miss sunset. I’m glad I did. The ride was smooth and Mohammed waited for us when I was too scared to speed down the hills. The views were amazing and we got all the traditional pyramid photos. Once finished, we drove around the desert for awhile longer before returning to the city. We got a quick drink of water and then embarked on the next activity. I will say that the camels are a bit intimidating, but Mohammed explained all the instructions from the guide. The camels were bumpy but the ride was quick and our location in the desert was perfect for photos at sunset. Mohammed took some good photos for us and he was a total professional. We returned to the city and headed back to the hotel. Mohammed made suggestions for the rest of the week. He sent us all of our pictures and delivered us to the hotel right when he said he would. The day was absolutely PERFECT. If you ever come to Cairo, you must request Mohammed. His service was exceptional. We will book more activities with him before we depart.Written 13 March 2018
- msaji0 contributionsBook Koki Tours if You Want to Guarantee You'll Have a Fantastic ExperienceI initially booked a 5 day cruise via my credit card company and was given Mahmoud's information to finalize the details. I let him know I would be in Egypt for a major birthday and wondered if he could help me fill in my days. Before I continue, let me first say I've traveled the world and have never hired a tour company before as I've always preferred to explore on my own. However, I was advised by an Egyptian friend that as a woman traveling alone, it would be better that I have a tour guide with me to limit unwanted attention. I'm glad I listened and lucked out with Mahmoud. He arranged for me what can only be considered the best experience of my life, helping me bring in my 40th birthday in an incredibly memorable way. I'm not sure how I will top this trip for my future birthdays. In addition to taking me to the requisite sites in Cairo (the Great Pyramids, Sphinx and other archeological sites), he also gave me a beautiful taste of the best of Cairo -- a visit to a perfumer who provides the flower essences for the world's most famous European brands, where I was given an extraordinary presentation on essences; a visit to the city's best carpet makers, where I was also given a presentation; a visit to a papyrus maker with yet another presentation and finally, a visit to a cotton store where I took home a 1600 count Egyptian cotton bed sheets for much less than what I'd pay if I bought in America. He connected me with another company in Luxor, who also made tremendous efforts to ensure I had a spectacular experience in their city with my very own highly knowledgeable tour guide who took me to sites very few people visit but were astonishingly beautiful. My cruise also included my own private tour guide as we stopped at historic sites on the journey down the Nile between Luxor and Aswan. I can't speak enough of how beautiful an experience I had-- to the point where I shed some tears when it was finally time for me to return home. I am very grateful to Mahmoud for his role in orchestrating all aspects of my trip and highly recommend him to anyone who want to guarantee they have an exceptional experience while in Egypt.Written 16 January 2018
