Private tea experience in beautiful hanok
My last trip and experience at rakkojae culture lounge was the best experience that I had in Korea. Since this place take only 1 team per session, tea experience was very private and healing. Head manager was so kind to explain about Korean ancient home ‘hanok’ and letting us know why this place hanok is special. Loved there welcome gin cocktail, Korean organic teas and handmade desserts from this lounge. Thank you !

Amazing experience during the tour to Swon, historic sites between Swon and Andong, and the stay in Andong Hahoe Village
Andong Hahoe Maeul Village is a wonderful village where traditional hanok houses built in the 1500s remain intact. Michael, who planned, coordinated and attended to this private tour for us with a great hospitality, also arranged for a guide, a Japanese woman married to this village, and it was very interesting to hear her detailed explanation. Both the scenery in the village and the river side were wonderful. The riverbank is lined with cherry blossom trees, and we were recommended to revisit during the cherry blossom season. In the village, we stayed in a traditional country hanok house, which has maintained its historical value while adding modern comforts, and experienced an authentic traditional Korean sauna. It was an amazing experience! It was such a wonderful village that I would have loved to stay there for a full day to see and hear more about it. It is a pity that we did not have a longer time to stay in the village due to the tour itinerary. Also, Michal stopped by Swon, historic sites with nice view between Swon and Andong on the way to Andong Hahoe Maeul village and back to Soul. These were great experience for us, too. At the Royal Palace in Swon, we received detailed explanations from a Japanese-speaking guide arranged by Michael, which was a very interesting experience for me as I love the history of the Joseon Dynasty due to Korean historical dramas. After visiting the Palace, Michael also took me to a hill from where I could see the whole of Royal Palace in Swon. It was a great view and a lot of fun. We feel very sorry for Michael, as it must have been very difficult for him to guide us, who wanted to see many things at our own slow pace and without considering the schedule of our itinerary. However, we sincerely appreciate the fact that he made various adjustments and attended to us for a long time in order to fulfill our wishes to the best of his capability. At Rakkojae Seoul, we stayed in a real traditional “Yanban” (Korean aristocracy) house, enjoyed the traditional room and garden, experienced wearing real “Yanban” costumes made of pure silk, and had a very delicious traditional Korean breakfast. I believe that you should definitely stay at Rakkojae Seoul and take the Andong Hahoe Maeul Village tour. As an experienced tourist, I strongly recommend it. By the way, I think the luckiest part of this trip to Korea was meeting Michael. He took care of us in so many ways that I can't write them down here, and we received the best hospitality. Thank you so much Michael. I would love to meet you again.

      Authentic
An outstanding way to see some of the attractions outside of Seoul such as Hwaseong Fortress and Byueongsan Seowon Confucian academy. Rak-Ko-Jae Andong is conveniently located in Hahoe Folk Village and is a perfect way to experience traditional Korean accommodations and food. Our guide and hostess were gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating. We had a wonderful two days in the country.

Great way to get to Andong
This was a great way to see more of the historical Korea via a very comfortable private air conditioned vehicle with a great guide. The tour was personal and enjoyable visiting historical places on the way to Hahoe Folk Village and included an invigorating hill walk to look over Suwon. The Hahoe Folk Village experience was very authentic and comfortable. Highly recommend this for those who wish to learn more of historical Korea

      Happy at the Hanok
This was a great tour. Michael the best guide. Nothing too small for him to help with, and lots of fun too. The cherry blossom outside the Hanok was amazing and the night we spent in the village very peaceful. Make sure to visit the mask museum before attending the performance, which is very interesting and lively. The kids enjoyed it too. The village is very special - Over 300 years old and it feels like it has never changed. After the frenetic pace of Seoul, it is a fantastic place to chill out for a day or two.
