Long but outstanding day trip including superlative lunch & guide
"Day trip to Armenia" from Tbilisi literally was ALL day, ca. 11-12 hours (including lengthy border crossings and morning check-in with Gamarjoba Georgia Tours). However it proved to be outstanding, thanks to one of the best & most informative guides (Zurab/Metro) we'd had on our 2 week Georgia/Armenia trip, and an over-the-top, bountiful, healthy, and delicious home-cooked Armenian lunch (our conclusion is that Armenian food ranks with the best cuisines of the world). We were a bit put off by the check-in process - a LOT of people starting their tours in a small office (with a toilet available, thankfully), giving the sense of chaos. However, the check-in itself proved to be quick & smooth. Thankfully there was just one Armenia tour so we connected with our sign-holding guide once it was time to embark. We had a comfortable bus, but we were one of 17 people, mostly young, perhaps 30-40 somethings (we are septuagenarians), very international, 7 countries. We even left a little early, which was a good thing because the border crossing from Georgia to Armenia took a LONG time (we'd done this before so we knew what to expect; this was our last outing on our Georgia/Armenia trip). We had done an 11-day small group (7 participants) tour of Armenia/Georgia, but booked this day trip separately and took it after our group tour had concluded, because it included a section of NW Armenia with some World Heritage sites which weren't included in our 11-day group tour. We are SO glad we did this. We lucked out with perfect weather (date of tour was Oct 3), and I had a good seat right by Zurab and thus heard most of what he said (I am hearing impaired) - he was VERY informative, speaking clearly and cogently. In the course of our group tour we had many very good guides but Zurab was the best speaker/educator of them all. We visited 3 church/monastery complexes, ranging from strong Georgian influence to mixed Georgian/Armenian to mostly Armenian. All were in splendid mountain settings. We also visited an oddball airplane museum (we could only view from outside as the gate was locked that day) and had a final stop to view a copper factory from a bridge. That last sounds strange but the setting was beautiful and it was a good break before the long journey back to Tbilisi (with a faster border crossing, thankfully). There was a stop at a supermarket with a place to exchange money en route, soon after the border crossing into Armenia. The opportunity to buy snacks was important as lunch was very late, perhaps 1:30 pm? (the check-in process had started at 8:30 a.m.) However, that lunch was one of the best we'd had in Armenia, and we'd already had several outstanding Armenian home-cooked lunches thanks to our previous 11-day group tour. I LOVE Armenian food - very healthy and fresh, with lots of vegetables, somewhat similar to middle eastern, but with different complex spicing. There was one "blip" - on our first border crossing, we almost left one of our group behind. Luckily I had been talking to that young man (he was from Jordan, traveling alone) while waiting in the very long passport control line, noticed he wasn't on the bus, and informed Zurab. After that incident, I could see Zurab counting the # of people on the bus before leaving each stop. WHEW!

      Great day trip!
Wonderful opportunity to visit another country and enjoy a fine meal. Great scenery and history. Guide was knowledgeable and helpful. It does take time to cross the borders, but that is part of the experience.

      Best tour in Georgia!
That was the best tour we ever had in Georgia! Definitely recommend Gamarjoba Tours and especially, if you can have Metroman as your tour guide for the day. He is absolutely amazing: very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I’ve been here in 2021, but this tour really exceeded all my expectations and previous experiences. I’m very grateful and couldn’t recommend better

      **NOT a wine tour**
The day was a good visit of the Kheketi region, with Nika our guide was very knowledgeable . nonetheless, if you are a wine lover, and would like to discover Georgia viticulture this is quite restricted experience, you will taste only 2 vineyards, which one is the biggest commercial operation ( tasting 5 wines) and 2 more wines from a smaller family operation. So it appears that for a little more we should have take a private driver from Tbilisi ( which you can easily find on many comer in the old city)

There is lack of information they provide
Lack of information they provide on their booking website due which we missed our trip inspite of reaching the pick up point 15minutes earlier. There is no signs on their buses nor they provided us with bus number or contact information of tour guide. They contacted 2 minutes prior to bus departure

      Lovely picturesque landscape
To be honest I am a bit short of words to describe by experience. It was just perfect and I am very glad I chose to visit Georgia. Georgia really has one of the most unique and beautiful landscapes I have ever seen, and even my pictures can’t do the justice to the beautiful nature in Georgia. This tour was really well planned and we had considerate amount of time in every location. My guide Pari / Tamara (I hope I pronounced her name correctly) was beautiful, very well informed and shared a lot of interesting information about each location and about Georgia is general. Thank you very much for taking care of us. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

      Highly recommended tour
This was a really well organised trip and special thanks to Dmitry our tour guide for taking care of the entire group. He shared many historical stories, interesting facts about Georgia, and helped us click pictures too. Now talking about the location, waoo, the landscape and view was so beautiful. It’s a very picturesque spot and I really enjoyed the time there. Lastly about the Monastery, it was a great experience to be there, very calm and peaceful. I am also very glad to have the opportunity to drink David's tears spring water.

their tour guide named SOSo was really bad and keeps on showing the hatred for some countries during all day. He should not shows his hatred towards other countries with travellers and making joke of their leaders.

      Excellent experience
Ungo was an excellent guide - she explained everything very well, that too in detail. Ungo is not merely a guide; she has true passion for her job and ensures that her customers understand and experience everything about the trips she takes them on. Gamarjoba is one of the finest tour operators in Tbilisi - we have booked multiple tours with them and they are well organised, punctual, prompt with responses and ever ready to assist. Had a very enjoyable trip to Mtshekta, Jvari and Uplistsikhe. The destinations are breathtaking and we got enough time to explore everything and take photos. The trip was totally worth the effort and money. The only con, if i may add would be the set lunch. We pay 45 GEL ( 17 USD) per person which is a shared lunch between the people who have opted for it. The items are not replenished after the first and only serving which seemed inadequate for a large group. If they could at least include a second serving for the items, that would be good.

      Kakheti trip ♥️🌿
This was my first time in Georgia and my first trip outside of Tbilisi. Pros: Overall, the tour was well-paced with no rush at any point. I loved all the places we visited, and Nina was very welcoming and informative. The views from the Saint Nino Church were stunning, and I think the time spent at Singagi should definitely be increased. Cons: The lunch at Singagi was overpriced for the portions, As someone who doesn’t eat pork, I requested chicken but only received three tiny pieces, which was disappointing. On top of that, for a 12-hour trip, the overall food portions were far too small to sustain us. Either the breakfast on our first stop or the lunch. But thanks so much for the experience and learned alot about the types of wine, which to drink when. Would definitely do it again

Firstly would like to thank my guide for the evening Natia for showing us the city through her eyes and sharing a perspective which we would have missed going around on our own, she is passionate about the city and loves it like her own, also she was patience and kind enough when we wanted to stop for some photographs, the tour organiser were Gamarjoba Georgia Tours were very welcoming, they invited us to their office and explained about Georgia also treated us to a glass for wine before the tour begin. It was overall 3 hrs of walk through various prominent places in the city and ending with Wine tower shop. Although it was cold we enjoyed every moment of the walk and its best way to know about the rich culture and heritage of Tbilisi. A very highly recommended walking tour with passionate people to enjoy the sights, sounds, history of this beautiful city.

This was my first visit to Tbilisi, I came from Dubai.
I traveled a lot, and normally I join the group tour wherever I go.
Honestly, the tours in Tbilisi are the best.
Or maybe the company I have tried is the best (Gamarjoba,Tbilisi)
Very clear , honest , detailed, and extremely warm staff.
When I booked this tour , I was not expecting much since we paid only $ 14 per person (me and my son).
But later , I felt that I have to pay them more.
Amazing arrangement, with extraordinary guide .
I was lucky to be guided by her (Lika, pronounced Leka)
She is highly educated, very clear English language , friendly without limitation.
She was a professional tourist guide , explaining the history as a novel or story never to forget.
The information received, the sequence of the journey, and the confidence I got worth much.
My personal advice to any traveler (especially coming from GCC ) is to have a similar tour
Not only that, but try to have this tour first morning in Tbilisi, because after that , you will understand many things about the capital, the attractions, and the right directions, which means smooth stay after that.
There is no doubt that I will do my best to come back here in the spring.
    To Amazing Tbilisi
Thanks Lika, you made our day

We decided to use the Tbilisi city evening walking tour with local guide Gvantsa. Gvantsa speaks perfect English and she knows a lot about the history in historical stories and funny stories about the city. The tour was great, not too long …the perfect evening walk with the local guide. Gvantsa gave us a lot of useful information about where to eat and how to spend the day in Tbilisi. She was very open if I can compare much more friendly as Sophie …but we were in contact with Sophie only by phone that is true. I think depandce also who you get as a guide and we were lucky.

    Must do!
Do not miss out on this great way to learn about the beautiful city of Tbilisi. This is our first time visiting and the tour was a great choice. Our guides were the fun, friendly, and informative Natia and Tata. They took us to visit the beautiful churches, modern architectural bridges, and the magnificent waterfall right in the middle of the city, all the while explaining the significance of each site.
Just make sure to wear some comfortable shoes as there is quite a bit of walking.
We got great recommendations too for delicious khinkali.

We arrived in Tbilisi only an hour before the tour started, and it was the perfect introduction to the city. Our guide Natia was great, so friendly and knowleadgeable, and we learned a lot during the almost three hours that the tour lasted. We felt like we covered all of the most important spots and can't wait to get out and explore on our own! Overall, I would highly recommend joining this tour, and it was such great value for money too. Thanks for a great evening😊

We started our Georgia tour by choosing the walking tour as we wanted to explore the beautiful city 💜 our tour guide - Maree, loved her energy and she truly was a beautiful soul 💜 we explored soo many pretty cathedrals and walked around all the lovely streets, took the cable car, walked towards the waterfall in the botanical garden. Everything was totally worth all the 4 hours of walk haha 🥰 Maree also got us Kachapuri from one of the oldest bakery which was super delicious. I would definitely recommend people to try out any of the tours Gamarjoba provides as honestly all of them were super fun ✨

As a solo traveler you are always looking for things/activities to do on your own so at first I was skeptical to take a tour..especially a walking tour. But this one definitely surprised me. Givi and Laddo were our tour guides and they made sure the walk was fun, informative, interactive and most importantly memorable. They were extremely well versed with the history and culture and were open to answering any and every question with ease. Not just that they were happy to take pictures and guide you around with other recommendations. I definitely recommend taking this tour - it’s a great way to meet new people and sight see the city.

Lenny did an excellent job explaining the history and eccentricities of Tblisi. He went above and beyond when answering questions and inserted humour whenever possible. The tour is a good way to understand the subtlities of the history and art found in the city as well as understanding the significance behind them.
Even though the weather was hot, the tour was fun and I would definitely recommend it to those who don't mind walking around the city.
