Daniel has organized our time in Port Moresby and in Varitata NP. So in one day me and my friends have seen all we could see in town. And the next day when I was alone Daniel was my birding guide in Varirata NP. It was really amazing he knew not only PM but also all local birds and their habits. In Varirrana we have seen 2 BoP, papuan nightjar, papuan eclectus, owl with its chicks, calao. And I made a perfect short of paradise kingfisher! I highly recommend him in Port Morsby area as very reliable person and perfect local guide.

Was robbed at gunpoint by 4 men with machetes and a pistol in Varirata National Park. They were actually mad at the tour guide, Daniel Wakra, because he cheats the locals out of money he owes them.

We booked a day tour with Daniel months in advance. He was supposed to pick us up from the airport and show us Port Moresby and the Varirata national park. In the end, he didn’t show up. We waited for 1,5h at the airport and then called the hotel to come pick us up. The hotel then organized a tour for half the price. I understand stuff comes up but it’s bad practice not to cancel and to let us wait for a long time at the airport.

Don’t use Daniel, greedy extremely poor service, charge lots of money but the accommodations and foods were poor, booked and paid all in advance, after 10 days, nagging us to pay the bills for accommodation and foods, three of us paid 500 usd per day per person for 20 days tour, plus 3500usd for chartered flight, that would never happen as it was in august 2018, Tari airport was burnt, he refused to return the money until I threaten to call police last day of the tour, he returned 3000 usd, kept 500 usd doing nothing, instead he accused me calling him liar when I asked for receipts of the chartered flight, he said he already paid but never able to show me the receipt, just a robber

Daniel was fabulous and we had an outstanding day out with him visiting Varirata NP, Ronna Falls, the Nature Park, Harbourside precinct, Hanuabada and Tatana Villages and the Koki fish market. His great birding skills enabled us to observe several species of birds of paradise (including many Raggiana BOP) and he had intimate knowledge of their calls and behaviour. He answered our many questions about PNG with patience and humour and we learnt so much about the people, cultures and recent historical events. Many thanks Daniel!

We luckily found Daniel's number online and he was able to take us around the next day! We went to Varirata National Park and did a tour around Port Moresby. Daniel is very knowledgeable and a nice person to be around. Would recommend!

I purchased a two day Bird Watching and Cultural Tour from Port Moresby through Viator. Thankfully because I purchased through Viator I was able to get my money back. All my details for pick up location were provided to the tour operator but they never showed and never contacted me. I sat for two hours in my hotel lobby waiting for no one to rock up. The phone number for the company was disconnected. The operator didn't respond to any emails. He sets it so that you cannot make any modifications or cancellations to your booking so he can take your money. The website for the company won't show as it says he hasn't paid his bill. When my hotel found out the name of the operator they said he owed them money as well and wouldn't likely come. This operator is a fraud and should be avoided at all costs.

After one week of nice fishing in Coral see we (3 persons from Lithuania) had 2 days free being in Port Moresby. We were interested in PNG nature and wildlife, so we decided to take 2 days tours led by New Guinea Natural Tours and guided by Daniel Wakra. It was really great ! Daniel was really brilliant: was very clear, honest, sincere, objective, with the deep knowledge in all areas, eg. in the area of bird life - he is encyclopedia. We got a full and realistic picture of the Papua New Guinea. He is real representative of his own country. Many thanks to you Daniel. I would unhesitatingly recommend him to anybody who needs an advice about Papua New Guinea.

Our small group did two day tours with Daniel, who is punctual, articulate, well grounded & experienced. We saw many different birds including four different BOP species. Other bonuses were a couple of agile wallabies (coffee-brown & fluffy), two New Guinea birdwing butterflies & what looked to be a WWII Sikorsky YR4-B helicopter wreck. At one point we had 6 x male Raggiana BOPs in the lek tree, one of which was chosen by a female for a mating to occur right before our very eyes, from a distance of 25 metres. We also had three growling riflebirds 20 metres away & on the ground, when out of nowhere a grey goshawk swooped down & attacked one. The raptor got a fright at seeing us & flew off. The juvenile riflebird was slightly injured so I ran in and rescued it. We took this bird to a bird-care institution in PM. Daniel's kind wife also made us quality packed lunches, and a thermos flask of piping-hot coffee for each day. I can't speak too highly of the service & overall experience. Thank you Mr & Mrs Wakra!

PNG is still unspoiled compared to some exotic destinations. The bird watching is out of this world. Plenty of jungle teeming with all varieties of avian. The thing that made it an exceptional sojourn was Daniel the best guide I have had the pleasure to meet. On my way to spotting 150 different species of birds he pointed out and identified all of them. Noticing a 3 inch long bird from 50 yards or more was a norm through the 4 days. It is as if he is on first name terms with all the birds. You have to go birding with him to appreciate his knowledge but he also looked after everything in the trip. All the other domestic things like where to change money and shopping for souvenirs. All I had to do was get in and out of the car. If you are thinking of going to PNG for birding, then do. There is only one company you want to get to arrange it for you and that is New Guinea Natural Tours. Highly recommended.

Daniel and his wife picked me up at the airport and we have started the tour around Variata National Park. As I had already visited POM before I actually was looking forward for the tour. Ofcourse with Daniel nothing would go wrong. The tour was great ! We went bird sighting in the forest and we actually saw several ! The viewing at the top of the peak was amazing. We stopped by a local road side vegetable shop and Daniel offered me some local young coconut. It was super refreshing ! As I was only transiting in POM, Daniel did a great job on managing the time and got me to my flight on time! Thanks Daniel for a great trip, which I enjoyed by a lot !!!

We booked two tours with Daniel, visiting the local Varirata National Park as well as taking a tour of a few villages(don't expect any penis gourds or feathered hats). All I have to say is that Daniel really knows his birds and his country. Don't be shy and ask a lot of questions and Daniel will shower you with fun little bits of information about life in Port Moresby and in the whole country as well. Even though our trip to PNG never took us further than Port Moresby, we left with a good sense of the country as whole, having learned a great deal about it and its people. I would recommend making sure that you're booking a trip during the bird of paradise mating season so as to see their famous plumage in all it's famous glory! Also, don't hesitate to trust Daniel on when and where to go see the birds because he really knows what he's doing. His 25 years of experience in birding really does show. The one thing I did have an issue with is the price. Even though Daniel kindly gave us a sizeable discount for booking two tours at once, for which we are eternally grateful, we still had to part with a sum more than considerable sum of money. But if you have spare cash lying around, it's good value for money!

Daniel met us at the port with his van. Had two vans so he was divided between the two. Trip to the natural park was good to see the country side. Walk was nice but didn't see as much as we expected however Daniel did provide good talk along the way (tours provided by ship did not have guides which were as knowledgeable). Daniel is very knowledgeable about his country and willing to share and educate you when you visit. Recommend his company.

We did a full day tour with Daniel of Port Moresby. He took us around the sites. We walked in the Varirata National Park, the botanical gardens, saw the war memorial, and had an overview of the city. The cost was reasonable, and Daniel was willing to tailor the tour to our needs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Daniel to anyone.

Daniel met our group of 25 from a cruise ship. He had to split us into 2 groups due to having 2 buses. He started off it one bus and narrated as we made our way to the Natl Pk. Half way up the mountain we stopped for a photo stop. (nice scenery) Then he got in the other bus, so he could narrate to them. I felt he was only giving us 1/2 of his time because he did this throughout the day, going back and forth. We got to the top of the mountain for a nice view and he said we would take a 30-40 min walk thru the rain forest and hopefully see wildlife. He knows his birds, but not as much about plant life. When asked what certain plants were, he only knew about 1/2 the answers. We only saw a few birds. The path was so full of roots and slippery, one had to keep watching his/her own feet, it was impossible to really appreciate the beauty of the rainforest. The walk lasted about 50 min. Those who could not do the walk were able to take the bus back to the meeting pt. After this, we went for some lunch, where no one's credit card would work--PNG?? at the Orchid and Bird Park area. I thought maybe he would guide us around there, but we were on our own, after eating our meal. The orchid park was nice. Saw some kangaroos also in the preserve area. I think there should have been a little more detail to attention.
