- Jonathan G0 contributionsAmazing viewsLorena was amazing! I will definitely book with her again once I come back to Colombia. The time was just perfect as there was no clouds covering the mountains so we were able to see La Chorrera since the beginning of the hikeWritten 6 December 2024
- 55andalive0 contributionsMixed feelingsThis was certainly a good value. However, we had mixed feelings. It was a beautiful drive to the park and would have been nice to stop at a viewing location of the valley on the way there,vs attempting to capture through the window of the van as we buzzed by. As a couple in our mid 60's in fair to good condition.this was a very difficult hike . I'm not sure if the altitude played a part, but the steep, rocky, and sometimes wet path was very challenging for us in spite of wearing hiking boots and using hiking poles. We had a hard time keeping up with the pace of the guide and would have enjoyed the hike much more if we could have gone at our own pace instead of feeling guilty that we were slowing down the guide and the 30 something joint hiker. We were also disappointed that there really isn't a good place to sit and enjoy the waterfall once reached. A couple other thoughts. Very good breakfast prior to driving to the park.Nice to have choices off the menu. The guide was sweet and patient, although her English was quite weak thus preventing much depth in the way of conversations about the area etc. The lunch meal was tasty but far too much after a big breakfast and positioned with a third of the hike remaining. Good driver. He transported us back to our hotel after the hike which was appreciated. Overall, were glad to have seen the mountain area and park. Although, wish we had hired our own guide with strong English speaking skills, and go at our own pace with a stop for a view/drink after.Written 1 December 2024
- Fearless638018807860 contributionsThe Best kept secret in Medellin.A great night in Medellín! Our guide suggested we visit this newly opened spot, and we’re so grateful for the recommendation. It was a wonderful evening with Oscar and Esteban. We enjoyed a variety of dishes from all over the country, served in small portions—but plenty of them! There were also fruit drinks, cocktails, and even shots of local liquors. As they say, it's an experience that's hard to describe. 100% recommended if you love food, art, and discovering Colombia in an amazing place.Written 27 November 2024
- Litia640 contributionsBest tour guide and driver in South America. Our tour guide was so so knowledgeable and informative. She speaks good English and explained everything so thoroughly. Our driver was excellent too as he was so cautious and drove safely as we find the drivers there are a bit crazy😅😅they drive erratically .Written 26 November 2024

- X1377NGandrewj0 contributionsAwesome guide - so glad I checked it outHad a great time seeing La Calendaria with Lorenzo, who’s such a fantastic person. I booked last minute and very glad I did. Not seeing La Candelaria while in Bogota would be a tragedy. My guide new the district and the people there so well. I learned a ton and also asked many questions about the neighborhood, history and to be honest, everything about Bogota and Colombia. I’d highly recommend the tour and wish i had more time to do another with LorenzoWritten 23 November 2024
- Katfir900 contributionsRecommendGreat tour, learned a lot about history od Colombia and Bogotá, and got to taste some local fruits, coffee and traditional chocolate with cheese.Written 21 November 2024
- 683felicia0 contributionsGreat experience, perfect organizationMy mum and I had a wonderful day with Yvonne! Starting with a nice local breakfast in Bogota, followed by an informative drive towards the waterfall and a great hike including lunch. Yvonne was very open and knowledgeable, the trip was perfectly organized. Would definitely recommend this tour!:)Written 14 November 2024
- dominiquefX2001CG0 contributionsFun Bogota food experienceI thoroughly enjoyed this food tour with the lovely Ivonne who was our tour guide. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Even though we had a massive group that day, she still made an effort to connect with everyone in the group. Her pace was perfect and the places we went to try the food were just the best! Highly recommend!Written 13 November 2024
- MarcinBP0 contributionsWonderful views and magnificent natureOn a cloudy day we left Bogota and through the hills and fog we got to the village near waterfalls. We hiked in a pouring rain which made this experience unforgettable. The guide Ivonne and our whole group of six made a perfect match and we spent wonderful day in great company. Ivonne told us about the area which sort of preserve by local people that run restaurant and stands with local food and drinks. Hand made souvenirs are also available. The views at the area are incredible. I literally had tears in my eyes standing at the foot of both waterfalls and seeing the power of nature. If you have any doubts about this trip, don’t. It’s absolutely worth each dollar spent and hike is not hard at all even on rainy day. To add more I need to say that Ivonne and our driver made the trip even better by playing a lot of great Colombian music in the van and making stops in most interesting places along the way.Written 28 October 2024
- demi11220200 contributionsThe most beautiful HikeI had an amazing experience and while slightly challenging it was something I will never forget, aside from it being a beautiful Hike with a really cool group, our Guide Ivonne made sure we all made it to the top safely and we had a good time, she is an amazing guide with whom I'm hoping to have a second tour with before I return home. Thank you so much, IvonneWritten 28 October 2024
- 393mihak0 contributionsNice relaxed atmosphere tasting the different dishes from all over ColombiaWe really enjoyed the tour with Daniel. The tour started at the Cranky Croc hostel and then we made our way around the streets of La Candelaria popping in and out of different restaurants sampling the different types of food from all over Colombia. The pace was pretty relaxed and there was a nice balance of sweet and savory dishes to satisfy anyone. We were also quite lucky with the weather so all in all it was a lovely day out in Bogota.Written 14 October 2024
- Jo d0 contributionsIncredible day trip! What an amazing experience! Jaqueline, my guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer all my questions about the waterfall, Bogota and Colombia in general. The views on the drive up the mountain were stunning and then came the hike… It was a fairly hard hike - the inclines were steep and with the altitude it made it a challenge but seeing the waterfall up close and the views down the valley made every step worth it! I would absolutely recommend this tour. An incredible way to see the rural area outside of the city!! Thank you so much Jaquie for the BEST day!!Written 13 October 2024
- worldwanderer1818180 contributionsLong day but worth it to see two amazing places !Great way to see both attractions in one trip. Food thru out was good. Diego, our Tour guide spoke English and explained each step of the day. Both locations were totally different. The hiking was a nice way to be outside in nature and the cathedral was such a unique experience. Would recommend !Written 12 October 2024
- camilod1640 contributionsCity tour with NataliaWe did the city tour, visiting the most iconic places here in Bogota like Monserrate, Candelaria etc. Natalia did an amazing job, we met at the hostel and she explained everything that we would be doing throughout the whole tour. She’s a very knowledgeable guide and gave information on anything that we asked her, most importantly she took care of us when we were walking around and she fed us well. All in all we had a great time, thank you!Written 9 October 2024

The transport bus broke down and we had to wait more than 2 hours for 2 cars to show up. They cramped us 3 people in the back seat on a medium size car for the 1+ hour drive. Andrea and the coffee plantation was great but the transport was terrible and no stops along the way to see the scenery of Bogota as they advertised on the tour package. Tour only lasted 4 hours and not worth the $98.00 they charge for it.

I had an excellent time during this coffee tour and got right hands on with the coffee farmer. After being picked up in the city, we left for the mountains and visited the Paramo - where Andrea explained about some local plants and the importance of the area.
We continued our way to the Coffee Farm of Marcela - a s mall bio certified plantation with only 8000 trees. We had lovely fresh breakfast with fruit and eggs, some Juice and Coffee.
We planted a coffee tree, harvested some beans, processed them, dried them and enjoyed previous once roasted.
Ending with a home-cooked lunch by her Mom. The tour was great, the guide really knowledeable, all tried to speak Spanish in a very slow way.
I really enjoyed this day.

We had the opportunity to go to the coffee farm, the owner and Karen, are very nice people. We learned a lot about the process of coffee.
In our opinion, the price is very expensive, special for the quality of the food that we had. We had for breakfast, a very small amount of fruit, egg, envuelto, and of course, coffee.
For lunch, was very bad, meatballs, rice, salad, and fried plantain. They had an option for vegetarians ( lentils ).
They should offer better food, with a good selection of typical Colombian dishes, so that foreigners have the opportunity to try them. Again, is very expensive.

The real deal! The tour was amazing and everyone made us feel welcome and very comfortable. Guide was fluent in English and Spanish! Teenagers enjoyed the experience and we have a whole new appreciation for the coffee bean. Learn about organic techniques to keep chemicals out of the drinking water and the appreciation the farm has for not only coffee, but the land and ecosystem. Highly recommend!

Great tour. The guide Luc is a happy and very nice energetic guy.
Everything was extremely well organized. Marcela and Karen are extremely nice and knowledgeable and committed to what they do ie organic coffee farming.
A real eye-opener for a city guy like me that do not know anything but drinking bad commercialized coffee.
After this day tour, you will enjoy your coffee more due to gained knowledge re what a good coffee is and how to make one.
I am committed to keeping my promise to never drink cheap commercialized coffee anymore.

Experiencing the intricate process of coffee-making firsthand was a truly remarkable experience. The details and nuances I learned about made me appreciate each cup of coffee even more. Our guide, Julie, was exceptional at conveying this information. Although the road to the farm was a bit narrow, it was generally well-maintained and the hour-long ride was worth it for the stunning mountain views. The farm's owner provided an excellent education on coffee quality and production. The tour also included delicious breakfast and lunch. While the workshop was somewhat pricey, the wealth of knowledge gained made it well worth the investment.

It was a wonderful experience, the trip is very close to Bogotá and we spent relatively little time going to the location, compared to the times even within the city. The guides will explain to you the full experience of the coffee making from harvesting to preparing the cup of coffee. The views on the way are amazing and the "páramo" which is a ecosystem located above Bogotá and the cafetal is also worth a look. I am not sure how the harvesting occurrs off season but you should ask in advance (they told us that the harvest occurs during the dry months from November to about March)

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who like to drink and value their coffee and anyone who is interested in the production chain of coffee beans.
The tour started at the hostel in la calanderia from where we were picked up by a bus on a 90 minutes drive up the mountain on to 3500 meter and on the other side down again. We arrived at the coffee Plantage where we were warmly welcomed by the owners and their dogs. We were introduced in to the planting of coffee trees, the collecting, peeling, fermenting, washing and drying process of coffee beans. There was good food, stunning views, a funny quiz and of course excellent coffee and time in nature. Good English and nice mangagemne by the carasmatic tour guide nick as well!

As someone who loves coffee this tour really appealed to me. The owner of the farm, Marcela, is so kind and enthusiastic. Her passion for coffee shines through and she is so excited to share it with visitors. She walked us through each step of the coffee growing process in great detail. It made me appreciate just what coffee goes through before it gets to us, the consumer. Marcela spoke in Spanish but our fabulous guide Cristian translated into English for those of us who do not speak Spanish.
On the way back to Bogotá we stopped briefly to learn about the local ecosystem. Cristian did a very good job of explaining it to us. I found it interesting to learn about it.
It was a wonderful day. Marcela and Cristian were wonderful hosts who took great care of us. I learned a lot of new things about coffee which will allow me to appreciate it more.

Thank you Andreea and Marcela for taking us through this coffee experience. We learned a lot, we had lots of fun and we tasted great coffee and food.
For all the others, it starts with a 1h drive but you stop at one point where the guide is telling you about this bio-diverse country. Interesting info and great pictures places.
Once you arrive to "la finca" (the farm) you start with a breakfast and then Marcela is taking you through the process of coffee harvesting while gearing you up to start harvest. :)
You go on through the entire process of coffee making from harvesting to drying the coffee while learning about coffee, coffee plant and differences you find in Columbia.
Last you get some lunch. you have some fun with the hosts and you experience the coffee.
We really enjoyed this tour, we totally recommend it! Great job guys.
PS - there was so much info on coffee that we received that if we would want to start a coffee farm now I think we'd be successful. :))
