Great way to find yourself in the city on your first day!
Beirut is in a delicate moment, as far as economy. Turism is not as big as it used to be. Therefore there are not many clients using this service. Anyway, Simon - the guide, and the driver , made sure we stopped at all attractions we wanted and even waited for our group to see the museum. They were very helpful and thoughtful. Simon answered lots of questions we made about Beirut and was really kind to our group. Beirut is insane to drive, as most traffic lights do not work and you do not see any government employees working to organize traffic. Do not rent a car ! Use this service to visit main attractions on first day and then use Uber. Make sure you have cash to pay it, as most services do not accept credit cards now.

        Highly Recommended
In January 2023 I took Zingy tours Bcharre, Qadisha Valley and Cedars tour (one day) and on another day the Jeita Grotto, Harissa and Byblos tour I was lucky enough to have Mahdi as a driver and everything was excellent! The attractions were brilliant and Mahdi was a great guy, very good company (it was just he and I) and a terrific driver. I really appreciated the chance to have a good chat with a local and learnt a lot about Lebanon from talking to Mahdi. Everywhere it was good to have one, a superb knowledgeable guide was arranged for me. I’d particularly like to thank ski instructor Pierre who guided me to walk down into the Qadisha Valley and at the Cedar forest. Another really nice guy. Very enjoyable and memorable days Heartily recommended - six stars!

Visit to Khalil Gibran Museum in Bcharre
Bcharre is the hometown of the famous Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran whose poetry and artwork reflects his upbringing in Lebanon's mountains. The museum itself is a 19th century monastery that was cut straight into the rock. The exhibition consists mostly of Gibran's paintings and snippets of his original poetry,. Entrance to the museum costs just 200,000 LBP ,but it is closed on Mondays.

        What is it with selfies?!?
I got a friend to recommend a private taxi to deliver me to all 3 places. Jeita Grotto: so pleased they took people’s phones off them first - is there no end to this selfie craziness?! Two different underground places, one with a boat trip, one where you simply walk…and then they have a power cut, so you’re a long way down in pitch black. Bit of a shock for the Netflix generation! Cable car up the mountain was fab because of how close you are to folk’s actual apartments. More craziness. Fabulous view from the top. Religious centre on the mountain peak is a bit weird with all the “woo woo” music and loudspeakers asking everyone to be quiet, but a superb spot to look down over the city.

        Beautiful trip to Baalbek
We visited Baalkbek today with our guide Paula and driver Hatem. It was wonderful, Hatem was a perfect driver and very helpful. Paula was also very helpful and told us everything about the tempels in Baalbek and everything als we wanted to know. She also took us to a delicious restaurant. So a very nice experience today. We are very glad to go with them again on Friday!

        Poor guiding
Places are amazing to see. However, English pronounciation of the tour guide was very poor, the sound system in tbe vehicle was also very bad. It was hard to hear and understand the information conveyed. Plus, all tour was very information-dense. It should be more interaction-based.

        Unforgettable day
Byblos is a place rich in history with ancient ruins, castle, old streets full of beautiful shops and nice restaurants. Jeita Grottos are magnificent and Harissa very implessive with a fantastic view! A must visit! Overall the day trip was unforgettable and I would glandly visit again even though it was our second time there.

Good tour/guide. Office staff could be better
Had a very nice day tour with this company. The guide Walid was great — strong English skills, good knowledge base, and a nice person throughout the tour. In fact, he even went out of his way to help the others on my tour, and I was very impressed with his work all day long. That said, I knocked off one star because the company wouldn’t pick me up at a residential address (their competitors would), and managed to fumble the pickups of the other two people, such that they also had to go to the main office. The lady working at the main office was not interested in helping figure out where to go.

        Beyond Beirut
Super prepared and friendly staff. Guide knew everything about her country's ancient and contemporary history, and beyond. We had a great time and we saw and learn stuff you miss if you stay just in Beirut. Also a good chance to meet people if you're a lonely traveler as me. Next time I'll take the Bekka valley tour for sure!

        Tyre and Sidon
The medieval castle in Sidon and the walk through the old town was most enjoyable but the highlight was the Roman remains in Tyre especially the hippodrome. Look out for the monumental Roman arch, gateway to the ancient but also remains of the Roman road with its arcades and the remains of the aqueduct. The other site in Tyre is on the headland and equally worth a visit with its view over the open sea.

Full Day Tour to Baalbek, Anjar and Ksara
Our tour guide’s name was Nouchka if my memory serves, and she was great. Very informative, knowledgeable, patient and well-organized with the itinerary. The tour was punctual. We were picked up at our hotel in Downtown Beirut in a van and taken to Nakhal office where we met up with other travelers - we then left for Anjar in a 42 seater bus. We were given a biological stop on the way at a local cafe where we could optionally pick up some breakfasts. The tour was great. It didn’t feel rushed or anything like that, especially at Baalbek, which was huge. Lunch was included in the tour, and we were given water bottles for the trip. After Baalbek and before Ksara, we were taken to Casino Arabi for a decent lunch, which included a generous portion of delicious grilled meat dishes - along with some appetizers, veggies, bread, fresh fruits and coffee. The tour ends with wine tasting at Ksara vineyard and winery before we headed back to Beirut and were dropped off at the hotel. All in all, it was a great well-organized day trip that did its intended purpose. No hassle planning it ourselves!

        Picked the wrong day!
I visited during the recent protests and unfortunately the city centre was in lockdown on the morning of my scheduled tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and did her best to plan an alternative but it really amounted to a trip around the National Museum and a short walk up a famous flight of steps. Not the tour company's fault - I was just unlucky with my timing.

Right after the breakfast, the guide from Nakhal agency came to pick up us at the hotel’s reception. A few minutes later, we were on route to our first stop, the Umayyad city of Anjar. Located in the Bekaa Valley, this fascinating complex is filled with ruined temples, impressive arcades, and gates, many built in Hellenistic and Roman style.

While walking through the ruins, we were plunged back in time and were able to figure out how well organized was the life in this small city. Our favorite part of this site was definitely the thermal baths built on the Roman model.

When we arrived in Baalbek, we realized that Anjar was just the appetizer! The monumental complex of Baalbek is remarkable and the most spectacular temple of this site is certainly the colossal Temple of Bacchus with its rich and abundant decoration. Just being there and walking from temples to temples was definitely worth the visit.

After the lunch at Casino Arabi restaurant, we went to Ksara, home of the famous Ksara Caves. Unfortunately, the guided visit does not include a tour of the plantation. We briefly visited two rooms of the Roman caves, where the wines are stored and concluded with a tasting of a selection of four wines. The Sunset Rosé wine did not impress us but we really enjoyed the Château Ksara 2014 Red wine and the Moscatel White wine.

We enjoy this tour and you can find more photos on my Instagram (kelledstyle) and more info on my blog ;-)

Tour is OK and does what it says. You will visit Anjar (40 min) and Balbaak (2h) before heading to a good lunch and the Ksara winery (1h). The guide was also fine, quite kind and relaxed and provide good information on the various sites. Time to each site is OK if you are not a particular fan or expert of history. It gives you just the bear minimum.

The issue is that you will be in a bus with >50 people, so highly impersonal. It seems to be in a Chinese tourist bus. With so many people, is also difficult to interact. Unless you are alone, for the price tag (90 USD per person) my suggestion would be to hire a private driver as it won't be much more expensive, it will be faster (bus is quite slow) and you will be able to dedicate more time to the site as well as the flexibility to decide how much time to spend in each one.

Nakhal service was brought to us by Hilton Metropolitan. Even though we adored Baalbeck, the reason to go for tge trip there were quite some misses. We were picked from the hotel at 7.30, for a program starting at 8.30 even though it is 5 min.away from their office and had to hang for 45 min. The program - Ksara winary is paid and poor site...you may see my evaluation there. Anjar also isn't anything spectacular. The guide - Natasha was quite boring and intrusive, engaging the audience primarily with herself. I got from the trip that she is teacher, archeologist, guide etc. She was engaging the group with stupidities, appearing a lebanese cause zealot, which is intrusive after having being paid. The lunch included, even though marketed as a 5 star restaurant in Zahle, was a middle class country-side place, that even isn't listed on TripAdvisor. The setup made - 25 people on a table for much less, made all feel quite awkward, while the food was generally middle class. Generally poor and overpriced.

If there is one conducted tour you are taking in Lebanon, we suggest you do this. Baalbek is a destination which is best seen with a guide.

Nakhel Tours- the local tour operator - has a great team who works with clockwork precision to guarantee you a good time. You can buy this tour through multiple agencies (such as Viator, Expedia etc) or directly from Nakhel- but do check out the prices in Trip hobo before you buy- you might get a better deal than elsewhere.

The pickup from the hotel and drop off back is done efficiently and on time -although there could be slight delays due to the notorious Beirut traffic. They also pick up from Beirut suburbs on the way.

After a brief stop for breakfast, the first stop for an hour is in Anjar- not very impressive as compared to Baalbek. The Baalbek temples are a sight worth seeing- almost as grand as Petra in Jordan. The only minus point in doing this as a day tour is that you do not get to see the artifacts stored in the air-conditioned museum and you cannot spend more than an hour or so marveling at the majestic Roman architecture. The lunch is at Zahle at around 1430hrs- good Lebanese mezze with free choice of beer, Lebanese Arak or soft drinks. The tour comes to an end with a visit to Ksara winery where they are very generous in offering you the free samples for tasting- you can also pick up wines at a good price in the shop.

Although the price seems to be a bit steep the overall experience is good value for money. A word about our driver- he needs to be congratulated for the expertise with which he manouevers the narrow roads with cars parked at the bends on the road side- good going Joseph. The woman guide - I think her name was Stephanie- had a lot of useful information and more importantly great insight in Lebanese history and interpretations.

We booked it by Nakhal. The group was 38 persons. This was to big. Half English and half French. So, the guide has to tell his story twice. In the bus the installation was bad, so you can hear only a part of the story the guide told. Outside in Anjar and Baalbek the guide was in a hurry because he has to tell everything twice, then he walked very quickly further to a next stop in the tour to win time and he doesn't has to answer questions.
      The lunch was mediocre.

The trip is very worth it and the guide is nice. But the manager of the company has no flexibility and the bus won't wait for you if you are few minutes late, even if you made a phonecall before to inform him ! Also...the bus can leave earlier ! The departure could be at 8h15 am although it is said to be 8h30. And don't expect to come back after 4h30 pm because, probably, the employees do not want to work more than 8 hours a day or / and will not be paid in this case. Only your money is wanted here ! Also, all the day long, you will be stressed to rush and rush. Forget this tour' agency !

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review although it should not be posted because it was your fault; the meeting time is 08:00 am, and the bus should leave by 08:30 am from our offices, however you called us at 08:20 am from a point which is 10 KM away that needs more than 20 minutes to reach, so we have moved the bus and informed the driver to move slowly so you can catch the bus, and you did it finally and you were able to join the tour!!! We cannot make 22 people in the bus to wait for just 1 person who was late to be ON TIME!! and then you complain!!! The trip is an organized tour for around 8 hours, and the timing is studied carefully to include 3 sites visits + Lunch, so if you feel that you need more time at each sight, then you could do your visits on private basis and don't go in an organized sightseeing tour. Regards, Nakhal Sightseeing Tours.

Our guide Nastasha was excellent. A very knowledgeable lady and made the tour very interesting and exciting. Her passion shine through making the day excellent. The bus was uote cramped which wasn't suitable for everyone. However, I had a great day. The food at lunch was amazing also. Truly authentic. I am very happy I toured Beirut this way.

The sites are a must see, Baalbek specifically is one of the best archaeological sites I've been to, and I've seen a fair share. Lunch was delicious and more than enough food. Our guide did a great job delivering lots of interesting information throughout the entire trip. Wished we could have had at least a little free time at Baalbek. The wine at Ksara was not good, in hindsight I would have paid a bit extra to get a higher quality sampling.

The sites were beautiful, but the tour was very bad, we visited anjar baalbek and ksara, but everything was rushed, the guide would just say a few words and walk as fast as she could to the next place, no time to take photos, the group was way to big and i could barely hear what the guide was saying. the lunch was basic for the cost offered.

Spent the whole day touring around the site in and out of various exhibits. Just picked up some tour guides right there for a reasonable price. Get a small goup of other tourists together and bargain for a good price for at least 2 hours!
