          Tour director was wonderful!
Our director, Tomer, went out of his way to make our experience great. He has wonderful energy, and was extremely accommodating and kind like all the Israeli’s I’ve experienced. I was skeptical before the tour because I had booked one earlier in the week where they forgot to pick me up and that I was never contacted by the tourdirector to apologize or even explain:( I would recommend this tour but I will say we needed more time at the museum. Bring water, and cash if you want souvenirs and of course, for tipping!

          Jerusalem Tour Option
Very informed guide and it was well organized with good quality for the cost. Pickup and drop off was easy. 3 of my other Nazareth, Jericho and Bethlehem tours were canceled so buyer beware if the group has less than 4 people as the tour will be canceled. They refund your money quickly within the week for me, which I greatly appreciated. Good luck

          Masada Dead sea relax
I really enjoyed the trip! The guide Eyal was very provident and professional! I Learned a lot about the places we passed by. We went through the sites without any hurry. The things were explained in an very eupeptic manner. Although we passed through the Westbank in summer 2024, there was no impression of any danger on the way. Local people we found where very kind at all places. The stay at the beach was about 1.5h, enough to enjoy this extraordinary place. Thanks for a very nice trip!

          Jerusalem in a rush
It was a really nice trip! The guide Abu Shai was very professional, a history professor giving courses in US universities, as he stated. And indeed a lot of historical background was given beyond the facts about the sites we visited. Furthermore information was always intended to be in a consistent (not always religious) context. I really enjoyed the discussions. Unfortunately, we went through Jerusalem with a great portion of hurry, not really giving us time to rest and contemplate as I would have preferred for such a magic place on earth. People were also told to don't stop at any stall or photographic site except the ones we were told by the guide. The excuse was that we had to pass by so many places in the given time frame. Finally we finished the tour in around 6 hours. Anyway I learned a lot and enjoyed what I found. Thanks

Unforgettable Masada and Dead Sea Adventure!
This "Masada and the Dead Sea Day Trip from Tel Aviv" was incredible! The convenience of hotel pickup and drop-off, combined with comfortable air-conditioned travel, made the journey stress-free. Our guide's detailed explanations at Masada were enlightening, enhancing our appreciation of this historic site. Floating in the Dead Sea was a surreal experience, with optional therapeutic treatments available. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Israel!

          Trip of a lifetime!
Avi was our driver and tour guide. Easy efficient pick up and drop off. This was a 'return' trip for me after 53 years. Avi made the trip live up to all my expectations and more. We covered the Sea Level pit stop on the way down to the rift valley from Jerusalem. The cable car ascent of Masada and Avi gave us just the right depth of insight without any stress or rush. Then our time at Kalil Beach for our float in the Dead Sea and our self-pasting with Dead Sea mud was the best! A once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. It was a humbling honour to be blazing the trail for the return of tourism to Israel after the devastation wrought on 7 October 2023.

The operator cancelled the tour 12 hours beforehand and all the others were booked. Unacceptable and unprofessional. The guide then did not return text messages. Stay away from this.

Great tour and amazing tour guide
This trip was the highlight of my time in Israel. Itamer was an amazing tour guide- his knowledge of history, Israel, and the Bible all fused to make this trip really memorable. All the sites we visited were amazing, there was ample time at each one but it didn’t feel like we were there for too long, and Itamer did a great job conducting the tour in multiple languages for different people. He truly cared about each person having a great experience. Visiting Jesus place where he grew up and did most of his ministry was truly incredible and the price for the tour was great. If you go, download what’s app because they will communicate with you that way for the pick up and drop off.

I did the one day tour of Petra from Eilat. I usually avoid tours because of the size and rigidness of schedule but doing this trip solo was just gonna be too much of a hassle with all the touts/language barrier etc so I opted for a tour. I’m glad I did because the day was effortless and relaxing. Only pushy salespeople at Petra itself.

From my hotel in Eilat I was picked up in a van along with four other participants. We were driven to the border crossing and aided by Ramzi who expedited the additional visa/exit fees, $140. From there we made our way through immigration and were met up with Fadi, our guide for the day. Here we also met up with a bus load of other participants coming from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

It was a large group but Fadi was great. You can tell he’s passionate about his job and introducing Petra, his hometown, to us. We were told about the history of the site during our ride to Petra. There was a nice break to deprive us of some $ at a souvenir shop but that was expected. We were given about two hours at Petra this included about a 60-75 minute tour from the entrance to the Treasury by Fadi who did a wonderful job at keeping me entertained. There was about 45 mins to wander independently before meeting at Sandstone restaurant for our lunch buffet. I made it as far as the amphitheater before I turned around and headed to the resto.

I think a day is sufficient at Petra unless you arrive on a day that also has the night candle entry. If so I’d stay o/n and do the night entry in the evening and come back to Petra the following day and explore it further to the monastery.

Buffet lunch was ok with typical appetizers of the region and three meat dishes along with a very mushy vegetarian spaghetti entree. Only one small plastic cup of water was provided but you can purchase more beverages.

Return to the border back to Israel was straightforward. We made another pit stop for a coffee/watermelon break and more souvenirs.

For me the standout was Fadi, which is why I’m giving it 5/5. Otherwise, I think the tour would merit 3.5/5.

Our one day Petra tour was advertised to be on a luxury bus. Instead, we were put on a small passenger van with stiff, plastic/vinyl seating that had absolutely no padding. The 3 1/2 hour ride from Tel Aviv to Eilat was miserable, as we could feel every little bump in the road (and the roads aren't smooth) and by the time we arrived, my daughter and I had excruciating back pain. We received false information about this tour, and when we asked for a partial credit to compensate us, we were offered a mere 10%, which didn't even pay for the airline flight we were forced to take back from Eilat to Petra. The Bein Harim representative I spoke with the day of the tour promised our ride back would be on a luxury bus, as promised. But, at the end of the tour it was the same small van - not the bus promised to us. Bein Harim refused to make it right. Don't book this tour!

Very good tour in the exceptional site of Petra. Very good Jordanian guide. Fast border formalities. Good meal at the end of the tour.
On the other hand, lack of time on the site, the departure from Eilat should be much earlier.
If you really want to visit Petra, you should plan 2 days.

Review in short: Precious time wasted due to inefficiencies, lacklustre tour guide, shortchanged on tour promises, discrepancies in tour costs.

Context: I signed up for a 2D1N Petra-Wadi Rum trip, starting from Eilat. The tour group that I went with had people going on 1D Petra (roughly 30 people) and 6 people on the 2D1N trip. At the end of Day 1, the 1D tour members returned back to Eilat while the 6 people proceeded to a Bedouin campsite on the outskirts of Wadi Rum for the night.

        Review in long:

Precious time wasted - Before detailing the complaint, the positive thing was that the morning shuttle bus pickup in Eilat and dropoff at the border were timely. While the border crossing was relatively fast (15 mins), the tour group had to wait more than an hour for visas to be done. From my perspective, I felt that the visas could have been done beforehand before the tourists arrived at the border. Furthermore, we had to wait for the arrival of all tour groups before we could proceed. This could have been mitigated if the timing of the pickups in Eilat were worked backwards, so that the arrival of all tourists would have been timely. The most pissing thing that happened was using our precious time to process unpaid payments of a number of tour people. Thereafter, there was a payment issue involving some tour members, which consumed 40 mins of our time waiting in the tour bus. All these payment matters could have been settled before the trip took place.

Syndicated tour - not a complaint, but it should be known that the different tours are syndicated under one organisation. I deduced this when the driver picking me up was the same person as another trip that I did with Tourist Israel (day trip to Timna Park). To Bein Harim staff reading this review, please verify whether my claim is correct.

Lacklustre tour guide (Petra) - while I understand that this is not the first time that the tour guide has led this tour, the delivery of the history on the bus felt very scripted. Personally, as a history buff, I felt that the value-add of the relatively expensive tour prices was the description of the region and country. Along the Petra tour, I believe there were many sights that the tour group passed by, but I felt that the description of the sights were pretty shallow. This was made worse when we passed by dams along the route to the Treasury and there were no stops made at the dams to describe their function and purpose.

Lacklustre tour guide (Wadi Rum) - the tour group took a jeep tour around Wadi Rum with our driver, who was a local. Instead of a narration of the region whenever we made a stop for phototaking, it was a Q&A instead. While some may prefer this type of tour guide, people who are curious about the region and have no clue about the history would not benefit much from this style of delivery.

Shortchanged tour promises - on the itinerary on Bein Harim website for the Petra-Wadi Rum 2D1N trip, it specifically said that the jeep tour in Wadi Rum was from 9am to 1pm. However, I was shortchanged (I can't speak for the other group members who booked the trip via other tour agencies) because the jeep tour ended at 11am instead. I clearly expected at least a 3-4 hour jeep tour but we got less than what I was promised and paid for. After leaving Wadi Rum for Aqaba, I expected to make the border crossing back to Israel at 3:30pm. Instead, our group made the crossing at 1:30pm, leaving me shortchanged of 2 hours that I could have spent in Aqaba. To fully detail the events leading up to Aqaba, our group left Wadi Rum around 11:15am and took a 45min van ride to Aqaba, arriving at 12pm. We had less than an hour's free time before being gathered to leave from Aqaba to the border at 1pm. In the end, all 6 of us in the group were collectively shortchanged, leaving us hanging/waiting in Eilat for a couple of hours till our individual transportation out of Eilat came. One tour member I know had to wait for a 9pm flight out from Eilat as she expected the tour to end around 5 to 6pm.

Discrepancies in tour costs - Just to be clear, this is a description rather than a complaint. According to Bein Harim, my tour package costs USD351 (I paid using a student discount). The usual price of the tour is USD369 (standard adult price). Asking other tour members on my trip, I found out that other tour agencies charged around USD400 for the same 2D1N trip. While I am not doing marketing for Bein Harim, please be aware that given the supposed syndicated tour arrangement as I mentioned above, do a price comparison before booking.

Conclusion - all in all, I felt that this trip was very overvalued. Given the amount of money I paid, I certainly did not feel I received the full value of the trip. For me, I am paying for time. While I acknowledge that some things are beyond the tour's control, such as traffic jams, bad weather, a lot of the inefficiencies were man-made and can be attributed to the tour agency. The activities that felt worth it to me were the night at the Bedouin camp and Wadi Rum. The other activities felt badly affected due to the multiple inefficiencies.

Please get your act together, Bein Harim and other tour agencies.

I booked my tours and received 0 confirmation on itinerary. Had to call back server times to confirm dates, schedule, pickup location, and room reservations. When I called the hotel to confirm my reservation and CRS was rude and would not try to resolve the issue. I ended up having to call the hotel myself to confirm and get the details of the stay. This company needs an upgrade on customer service and be more detailed in the logistics of each tour so the one is not wondering where the pick up is, who is doing the pick up and other pernant information about the tour that is needed.

Dear Alex, We are most regretful that this was the nature of your service experience. It certainly should not have been so and we have been able to draw conclusions as a result but also got some answers from the operations team person with whom you spoke. Indeed the reservation was all in order, but as it is booked via an agent, the direct name is not always the case. That is why you were concerned regarding your booking. I understand that you wanted Nir, the operations person, to call the hotel for you to make sure, but he had the document between the agents that stated so.That is standard. However you should certainly have received what is standard procedure for ANY booking (not clear why you didn't ..) a reply email with all the details listed etc. Indeed the significant information is essential for the peace of mind and confidence of any traveler in our service and on this we make every attempt not to compromise. Sincerely apologize that this was the nature of your experience. Have no problem to apologize and also revamp the procedure instructions learning from what you have brought to our attention. Sincerely, Bein Harim Tourism Services team

Amazing tour, great guide, kind service. Everything was well organized. Petra is definitely a place to visit if you have a day or two during your trip in Israel.
