Premadasa Stadium is a cricket stadium situated on Khettarama Road, Maligawatta, Colombo, Sri Lanka. During games, large crowds of local fans fill up the lower seats who’ll scream and cheer without any extortions to “make some noise.” The best seats available are in the Grandstand, which is less congested and offers a great view of the giant scoreboard. There are plenty of food stalls at the stadium, including KFC, Pizza Hut, Lays potato chips, as well as local vendors selling hot dogs, pineapple, chocolates, and many other snacks.

Day 2: KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

Stop At: Sita Temple, Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
The Sita Amman Temple dedicated to Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, situated in the hills of Nuwara Eliya, is treated with enduring devotion by Hindus as it is considered to be the only such temple in the world. It is located five kilometres along the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. History has it that this is the place where King Ravana held Sits imprisoned.What is interesting about the temple is the presence of footprints by the river, which is construed as being akin to Hanuman’s.

Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other four are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is the second largest garden in Sri Lanka.

Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, also known as Muttiah Muralitharan International Cricket Stadium , is a cricket stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. In July 2010, The Central Provincial Council in Kandy announced plans to rename the stadium to honour the legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, but hasn’t officially done so yet. The stadium was opened on 27 November 2009 and became the 104th Test venue in the world in December 2010.

Gregory Lake was created in 1873 by the British era Governor at the time, Sir William Gregory, supposedly for the purpose of providing electricity. However, the lake was mainly used for leisure and recreation after it was built. At its peak of fame, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area and was used as a place to relax by many visitors.

Stop At: Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, Kandy-Nuwaraeliya Road, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple is built by the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka. Located in Ramboda on Kandy-Nuwara Eliya Road located approximately 30 odd kilometers North of Nuwara Eliya on the A-5 route facing the Kotmale Reservoir. The Chinmaya Mission is a Hindu spiritual organization engaged in the dissemination of Vedanta, the science of the self as expounded in the Vedas, particularly the Upanishads, and other important Hindu scriptures including the Bhagavad Gita.

A captivating sight, it is highly recommended for nature lovers and bird lovers to pay a visit to this amazing natural preserve.  There are two observation points on the A7 highway from which the views of this water fall can be enjoyed. The lower observation point is even more special because, both Devon and St.Clair waterfalls can be can be seen cascading down the scenic mountains.

On the slopes of the majestic Kikiliyamana, the fifth highest mountain in Sri Lanka, lies the village of Shanthipura. On reaching Shanthipura, visitors are greeted by the small but beautiful Buddhist pagoda which makes the centerpiece of the village at the tallest place; surrounded by the villagers’ houses in differing altitudes. Day 5: ELLA – UDAWALAWE NATIONAL PARK – GALLE
