Shah Dag Tour Review; The Good and the Improvable
I recently embarked on a tour to Shah Dag and had a wonderful experience. The breathtaking scenery and stunning landscapes left me in awe. However, I do think our tour guide could have been more diligent in ensuring everyone was accounted for before departing each stop. The tour was well-organized and I would recommend it to others.

Exceptional Old Baku Tour Guide Nazperi from Azerbaijan Travel international travel
Our tour of Old Baku was unforgettable, thanks to our amazing guide Nazperi. Her deep knowledge and passion for the city’s history brought landmarks like the Maiden Tower and Shirvanshah’s Palace to life. Every story and detail she shared added a rich layer to the experience, from the city’s Silk Road origins to its modern cultural significance. She was engaging, patient, and attentive, tailoring the tour to our interests and answering every question with insight. Her warmth and local tips made the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re visiting Baku, her services is a must—transforming a stroll through the Old City into an extraordinary journey through time!

Road trip to Gabala & Sheki
The drive from Baku to Gabala took very long. There was long queue at the cable car (Tufendag) - better to get tickets in advance as they are not covered under the trip If possible, suggest avoiding holidays or weekends - there are long wait for changing over cable cars at the third & fourth stops, due to less cars (alternates with ski lifts). If in cold weather try to avoid Nohurgol lake boating in late evening. We couldn't cover Gabala forest, Diri baba mausoleum, Jume mosque due to another route for avoiding bad roads - and it took a lot of time travelling (so check with the driver in advance to manage expectations) The road trip was good and comfortable, but if you are going to Gabala & Sheki, try to start really early and plan

The views were amazing. We took so many photos Nazperi as a Guide was excellent. She has a very pleasing personality and she only provides important information about the historical sites rather than boring her group with too much information.

      Gobustan-Absheron tour
Somaz was an excellent guide on this Gobustan-Absheron tour and very knowledgeable. The start was a bit slow as we were in the bus for 70 minutes before the first visit (which was 10 mins from our hotel). The cultural sites and museums were excellent and a great way to understand the history of Azerbaijan. Highlights for me were the petroglyphs and the “wacky races” experience in Soviet era Ladas up to the mud volcanos

This was an excellent, well-organized tour that gives you a great overview of Azerbaijan and its varied landscapes. You get to visit several stops along the way and back but Sheki itself is a real highlight of the trip with its fabulous palace, Armenian church, great artists, delicious piti and sweeties, and wonderful architecture. Trying to see it and appreciate it in a one-day trip sounds like a terrible idea and we are so glad that we opted for this trip. The hotel we stayed in was a great treat as well with an excellent and inexpensive restaurant on-site, free breakfast, and even a spa (so bring a bathing suit). Our guide, Michael, was a font of knowledge about all things Azerbaijani. I highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Azerbaijan.

We have just returned from a great trip to Azerbaijan with Azerbaijan Travel International.

We were a group of 8 (4 couples) and had a 7-day custom-made tour of Azerbaijan which consisted of 4 days in Baku and 3 in the north, staying in Shaki.

The guide was knowledgeable and attentive to all our needs, the vehicle comfortable, and the entire trip was conducted in a precise and professional manner.

If you are planning a trip to Azerbaijan this is a company to go with!

We took a 2 day 1 night Gabala-Sheki tour. I had originally booked these two places on separate day tours but upon seeing the map of Azerbaijan, decided it would be far more efficient covering both places on an overnight trip.
Day 1 was pretty much wrecked by bad weather on Tufandag Ski Resort. I would imagine with good visibility instead of the fog, we would see views of lush vegetation of different colours. We spent our evening overnight in Sheki.
We started Day 2 at 11am, and at a leisurely pace covering the historical monuments in Sheki. It was a long journey back to Baku, with us reaching our hotel back at 10.30pm.
Lunch on both days were covered, and to a pretty good standard, above average compared to most lunches we get on day tours.
Our guide on both days was Nazperi. She articulates well in English, and is clearly an experienced guide and was able to share a lot about the places we went to. I also appreciate that as the group is of diverse background, she made it a point to emphasise the importance of punctuality, so the itinerary is not derailed.
All in, I would recommend this tour if you decide to visit both places. It is well organised and all you have to do, is pray for good weather at Tufandag.

Visited exotic places in and around Baku, Azerbaijan. We had an excellent and able guide in Nazperi. She had loads of information on each of those places and she could explain the significance and historical importance of the places we visited. She was able to communicate with us in english as we are from India and we don't know the local language. She was ever smiling and more than interested in clarifying all ouŕ doubts, questions etc. Within a short span of 5 months into her career, she has established herself as a true professional. Wishing her a great future and awesome career.

During the Baku-Gabala-Sheki Excursion, I was amazed by the variety of natural landscapes, from desert to mountain forests. Each area is beautiful in its own way. The excursion is intense, but very informative and varied. All liked it. Kamal Sadykh-zade, our guide, talks interestingly, has all the necessary knowledge, has excellent command of the Russian language and public speaking skills. We also had a wonderful driver, which is very important and valuable in Azerbaijan. Thank you to everyone for the excursion and organization.

We enjoyed our trip very much! The places that we visited and the sightseeings we saw were all different and unique. We enjoyed the rich nature with its high green mountains and different kinds of trees, partly covering the highway, creating a green tunnel. We also loved the impressive sycamore trees from the year 1530 (!) We were impressed by the the mosque and the Sheki Palace, the latter with it’s magical atmosphere and unique architecture. Michael (Mushfig) was our very friendly and attentive guide. He not only provided us with a lot of information about the sightseeings, but also about the history and culture of Azerbaijan. Due to his deep knowledge he could answer all our questions relating Azerbaijan. But also in general it was very interesting to speak with Michael about various topics, so that we really enjoyed our time in the car on the way to the next sightseeing. We highly recommend this tour and especially the tour with Michael :)

Great experience. Aziza was my tour but we became friends sharing a lof of things during two days' trip. The first day we were in a bus with other group, Aziza started to introduce local real life, and answered many questions we were curious about. The second day in Sheki, I was like a private tour cause only me going to Sheki. So the trip was more relaxing, Aziza and I kept talking, she taught me how to eat Sheki's national cuisine Piti! I became half local, lol.
I hope to come back in summer time some time later, Azerbaijani are nice and friendly, they tried to share what their life here and keep connected with outside world. Thanks for this great experience.❤️

Ismaïl was our fantastic guide during this great tour. He is enthusiastic and knows a lot about Azerbaijan, the people who live here and about the history. He speaks English very well and has a lot of humor. Ismaïl brought us to places that are absolutely worth it! We certainly did not want to miss the ski resort, a fantastic experience with the ski lift going all the way up. Fantastic view! The driver drove very well and brought us safely to all places. We had a great day and recommend everyone to do this tour!!
