Overview

If you’re short on time, you don’t need a full-day tour to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, a network of Vietnam-War–era tunnels some 37 miles (60 kilometers) outside Ho Chi Minh City. Stay in bed longer, enjoy lunch at a place of your own choosing, and take it easy with door-to-door round-trip transportation on an afternoon tour that’s perfect for anyone who loves unique places.

What to Expect

Your local guide will collect you from your central Ho Chi Minh City hotel for the drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Learn about the role the underground network played in the Vietnam War along the way. On arrival, watch a film about the tunnels and the savage fighting in the area. Then explore a sample of the vast warren: the weapons factory, hospital, kitchens, as well as some tunnels so low you need to crawl.

If you’d like, try cassava, the bland root that was the main food for guerrillas fighting in Cu Chi. You can also choose to fire weapons, including AK-47 assault rifles and even machine guns at the nearby shooting range. Once your group is done at the range, return to your hotel in time for dinner.

same same, no difference if you catch from their office. They came to my hotel and the bus was late, so we walked 5 mins to the office, but I think it’s a flat rate unless you are way out of the city.

6pm will be tight if you go for 1pm afternoon tour as traffic is quite severe around 5 pm to 7pm for office rush hours. Better to go for 8am tour & be back by 3pm latest.

I’m sorry, I know they definitely speak Vietnamese and English. I am sure you could ask for a Mandarin speaking guide, they have many employees.
