About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- nannerzz0 contributionsFrequent travelers that decided to use a Tour Service and saved more than you'd think! We had a fantastic time! Cannot give enough praise to Tran for being so attentive with Realistic Asia. We technically used Tour Radar but that is just a platform to find a tour. To be honest my husband and I rarely use a travel agency when we travel mostly because we do 'enough' travel that we are very much capable of doing it ourselves and often save money doing it... not in this case, we could not extend our trip further than 16 days (plus some added on the ends) and wanted to make sure everything went smoothly and it did, cheaper traveling more luxurious than if we did it ourselves at a pace that mixed leisure with tours. If you are a frequent traveler and dismiss an agent for similar reasons this review is for YOU! I can say this because my sister and her hubby who have relatively deep pockets but are super frugal, frequent (retired young at 50) travelers with lots of time, so they planned their trip using my itinerary loosely to plan their trip and... in the end spent about $1,000.00 USA more than we did with less. Although they did add a week and stayed much longer... that was not really where they spent more because they did not have all of their tours booked for their stay, were at a family wedding for the first 5 days (not included) and did not have 5 star hotels, breakfasts at their hotels (nor many lunches or water included with some tours) did not have a driver with their names on it greeting them, they struggled with long lines and some confusion at the airports and although her price included all the airfare internally and some tours- her 'booking.com' did not include any transfers *What she did have was the flexibility to change a few things along the way- and drank wine out of plastic opposed to the glass glasses we had and with the 'booking' discount sites we all know you are still locked into the investment and cannot easily change the reservations. So although they found some jewels in their travel to SEA, we went without any worries and- cheaper staying at higher end hotels etc. :) First off, when I booked our flights- the app did not expand to quickly display the dates with flying over the international date line AND the daylight savings in the USA coupled with the long 24-hour flights as much attention as I had given, I goofed up on the flights (international flights we chose to use our cc points and upgraded to the lay down pods, which I highly recommend if you can swing it). Tran caught it and we were able to adjust our flights very quickly- something that 'could' easily happen planning yourself. We were never without a driver taking us to our next stop and... I did have to text Tran that one driver was not there, I wasn't worried but it was unusual to have a driver be 5 minutes delayed so sent the text. Good thing, the driver had car trouble, so a new driver was dispatched instantly and all went smoothly! We enjoyed the time in Bangkok and the weather allowed some time at the roof top pool, but our favorite evening was going down to Chinatown to listen to music and have some local street food all recommended by our tour guide Eddie who was a fantastic fun guy. In general, all of the hotels were in great locations, welcome drinks and great English speaking front desk. I am caught between having all the wonderful amenities of a 5 star and having a lower-level hotel in the middle of all the action but in the end, being able to have a great full-on breakfast trumps out the ease of getting in a Grab (do download the app ahead of time) to take us to a popular evening market etc. Our favorite city was Chaing Mai the elephant tour was truly a highlight, we did have time to have lots of suits and dresses made in Hoi An (do have some clothing ideas before you go or you'll end up overwhelmed even with all their help- don't worry who you use they are all great and similar in price) and our favorite hotel was the Myst in Saigon- a wow but very unique hotel! All of the tour guides were also great- so happy we upgraded the suite on the river cruise on Halong Bay (if you can squeeze in a second day to go ashore to the town you should - we couldn't spare the time, and also others highly raved about Siem Reip which we also couldn't spare the time and recommend an extra relaxation day there as well). Thao Vo was so kind and knowledgeable on the temple area in Vue and took a lot of photos for us to enjoy. I also will commend Realistic Asia when a lunch was included- they let us eat without the guides. I have been on some tours where we did not get a minute to ourselves to talk about our day and the guides sat down with us to eat too... it's a small thing but huge when you are with a guide all day to have some personal time so kudos! We were blessed to have time at a family wedding in HCMC and Tran arranged for a transfer to this hotel and the final pick up to fly out as well. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely encourage frequent travelers to use Realistic Asia when traveling to this region. Other tips: Don't 'believe' you need to only use a backpack to travel, although I can and have travel nicely using a backpack but we got hung up on all the YouTube videos of backpack travelers in SEA... if the backpack is already needing to be checked don't hesitate for a normal suitcase on wheels, the youtubers are on a budget and not really booking ahead like this trip is- if you are having a driver pick you up, using Grabs and going to nice hotels, they are going to carry it for you anyway so why suffer with a tiny bag.... don't get me wrong PACK LIGHT you really don't need much and can always buy a cheap bag to bring treasures home, but we used large backpacks and was inconvenient to squash each time we transferred to another hotel and it was kind of silly- we were not staying in hostels nor were we unsure of where we were staying next- use the suit case! Other tip: Don't be afraid to alter your trip with Realistic Asia, look at the suggested hotels and if you want one in the middle of the party- ask, they will certainly find you the perfect fit!Written 18 March 2025
- DJSC9250 contributionsGreat custom trip in Vietnam!Ivy with Realistic Asia provided outstanding support for our 19 day customized Vietnam trip for our group of 6. We started in Hanoi, took an overnight train to SaPa, went over to Ningh Bingh, spent 2 nights on Halong Bay, had a flight to Danang, enjoyed 3 fun days in Hoi An, had another flight to Mekong Delta area, and ended up in Ho Chi Minh City. With ALL that travel there wasn’t a single late pick-up and it was absolutely stress-free. All of the activities, tours, drivers and guides were great, and Ivy even made arrangements for a few last-minute itinerary changes that we requested, too. Definitely recommend!Written 18 March 2025
- james c0 contributionsOur dream tripEverything about our month in Vietnam and Cambodia was sensational, we are in our 60s and wanted to recreate a 1970s backpacking trip in India, but with some comfort and travelling simplicity. Realistic Asia, through our contact, Jennifer, absolutely nailed it! 1. They were great at tailoring and extending their 23 day highlights trip to a 28 day trip to our spec 2, the range off accommodation we requested- homestay/3 star and 4 star hotels all exceeded our expectations 3 the group tours were all small groups and superbly organised. We enjoyed joining different groups which gave us the self guided independent feel we wanted The tours we had -day trips, multi day treks snd multi day cruises were beyond fantastic and the balance between free time and activity was also perfect! They were always smaller group sizes than we expect which was an added bonus. 4. The transfers ( our greatest worry) were perfect whether we were at airports, sea ports, hotels, trekking locations or very remote home stays. The vehicles provided were excellent and always on time. 5. Jennifers support was brilliant. Whether it was suggesting places to visit, ensuring everything was to our liking, or just staying in touch but not overly intrusively she was fantastic. I could go on and on. Suffice to say we were 200% delightedWritten 17 March 2025

- Sheeshee60 contributionsGoing beyond the call of dutyFrom the very beginning, they were excellent to work with. They helped me build a customized trip. They were totally responsive and carried through on everything they said they would do. When I got sick in Laos and decided not to finish the rest of the trip and come home, they were Very helpful in making those arrangements as well as getting as much money refunded to me as possible. I highly recommend them.Written 17 March 2025
- michaelrI6560GX0 contributionsCambodia Family HolidayWe’ve just returned from our second trip with Realistic Asia, travelled through Vietnam in 2024, and now through Cambodia in 2025. These guys are the best, nothing is too much trouble, the detailed itineraries are amazing, the tour guides and drivers are the friendliest most knowledgeable people. You have a rep on what’s app 24/7 should you need anything, and to top it off the prices are better than everyone else we considered. We’re already planning a third trip and will work with Realistic Asia on a personalised itinerary that meets for our needs. One final point, Cambodia is just the best most beautiful country, if you’re considering a trip, please go, you won’t regret it. Thanks to Kathie and the team The Ratcliffe’s UKWritten 15 March 2025
- Denis1904810 contributionsAMAZING TRIP IN VIETNAMOur tour in Vietnam was an unforgettable experience! We explored breathtaking places, from bustling cities to serene landscapes, each offering a unique glimpse into the country’s rich culture and history. The highlight was definitely the food – every meal was a burst of incredible flavors, from street food to traditional dishes. The only extra activity we added was a coffee class, which was amazing! We learned so much about Vietnam’s coffee culture and had a blast. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vietnam, and don’t miss out on the coffee class—it’s an experience you won’t forget! A special thanks to Mr Chris Tran for the effort to help us in this amazing trip!Written 14 March 2025
- nadxia20180 contributionsWonders of Asia in 16 days with the best tour companyWhat amazing way to experience these three countries. It was a great balance between the activities and relaxation. Edna was the best tour leader for this type of trip. She made sure we were catered from start to end. We unfortunately didn’t see the time to review our hotels list, even though we had the 3 start accommodations, we had the perfect trip. Everything was just perfectly plan!Written 13 March 2025
- 795DebbieG7950 contributionsGreat Company, Superb Guides and Magnificent Tours & ExperiencesGuide $10, hong, Tong driver $5 We book a trip/tour tato Vietnam & Cambodia. It was wonderful. Pham Long was our contact. He explained how each day would go. He would go over the itineraries and tell us what we needed to know. Even though he was not on the tours with us, he always kept in touch with us and answered any questions we had. We never felt left on our own. We used WhatsApp to communicate. It was never more than a few minutes before Pham Long would answer anything we had a question on. The hotels were awesome. Great rooms, friendly service, fabulous food. The activities & tour were all amazing.🤩. We especially enjoyed the overnight trip to Hoang Bay. The boat we were on had great rooms great service good food, and the activities in the bay were wonderful. I loved the cooking demo and of course kayaking to see the monkeys. I even caught a squid 🦑 during that activity. The bay is of course off the charts unique and unforgettable. all the tours we went on were well organized. The guides were great and the drivers were friendly. Again, a special shout out and thank you to our contact and constant advisor Pham Long. Another one of our favorite tours on this trip was what we called “The Food Tour. We took a bus ride and our guide “John”Sang to us. He was an amazing guide. He had an iPad where he showed his pictures of all the things he was telling us about. It made it really easy to understand and remember the things he told us. In fact he was so good. The company should promote him to train other guides. We went and saw where coconut candy was made. We got to hold beehive trays, we got to see the local people sing and play instruments and have a special honey tea. The activities of that day and the guide were amazing. All our guides were great. They knew the itinerary well enough to juggle the activities so that we wait in long lines and had the best experiences. They all knew right where to stand to take the best photos and they were right there taking out pictures. All in all it was a great experience. It makes me want to return and do it all again.Written 13 March 2025

- Expedition8287650 contributionsEen fantastische reis mede dankzij onze begeleider achter de schermen Chris. We made trip from North to South Vietnam. Organized. We were a little afraid of this at first but everything but everything was organized to perfection. Everything on time and of high quality, the transport, the hotels, the excursions. Behind the scenes we were "followed" by Chris, who monitored everything and regularly asked us if everything went according to plan. He visited us briefly in HCM city and gave us a gift. It was a warm and sincere contact. The trip was a group trip but for 90% we were solo which was wonderful.Written 10 March 2025

- Z3105BPamberw0 contributionsAmazing private highlight tour of china! Looked after every step of the way, couldn't have asked for better!I booked a 11 day china tour including Yangtze river cruise with this company. Having never booked a tour before I was a little worried but I needn't have been! I was sent the paper work a few weeks prior to departure by our lovely online rep long Pham. Stepping off the plane we were greeted by our guide at the airport, everyday from that point was so well organized and efficient the guides we're all so knowledgeable and friendly I couldn't recommend them enough! If you're having any doubts just go for it!Written 6 March 2025
- 764olhan0 contributionsAmazing TripWe have recently finished our tour: amazing Thailand in 9 days. We like our tour really a lot: hotels were good and excursions were quite interesting. The overall organisation was great, and big thank you to Chris, who provided us with the great support during our trip! We will book out tour to Asia again with Realistic Asia.Written 6 March 2025
- SueRandall660 contributionsA wonderful trip. A great adventureVery well organised with flights and transfers, Jennifer Bui was brilliant when we realised one of our internal flights had been cancelled last minute. Always quick to respond and reassure. All the activities gave a great insight into life in Vietnam and it's history. The guides were very friendly and spoke good English. The drivers were amazing felt very safe . The itinerary was well put together to take you to the main sights. The hotels were in central locations for all the main sights but used the grab taxis to get about (Vietnamese Uber) which were very safe never waiting more than a few minutes for one and very cheap. We went in February/March and Hanoi / Halong Bay was much colder and wetter than we thought so should have packed a coat. Hoi An and Ho Chi Min were 30 degrees plus, very warm. Definitely recommend Realistic Asia and hope it's not long before we come backWritten 5 March 2025

Excellent experience with this company. Éllie was our consultant and we greatly appreciated the communication throughout the booking process and our travel. We always felt like we were in good hands with all our guides, accommodations, transfers, and activities. The tour we chose was a great blend of main attractions and quieter moments behind the scenes of local living. If we had concerns during our time in Vietnam, they were addressed immediately. We would definitely book with this company again and have recommended it to friends looking for a new adventure.

Hi everyone,
My family and I booked a two week trip with Realistic Asia and our very attentive tour agent was Dat. From the beginning of planning our trip, we were in constant communication with Dat. He provided us with a lot of information to help plan our trip. We had very specific requests for our trip and Dat helped us book our custom planned trip. With 14 days, we were able to enjoy Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore. Any request we had, Dat worked very hard to accommodate our requests. I have him a sample itinerary and he was able to not only match that itinerary, but enhance it by making his own recommendations which made our trip even better!
Our flights were booked accordingly to maximize our time in each city we visited. Our international flight was booked with Korean Air and we enjoyed their service. Our airport pick up and drop off went off without a hitch. All of our tour guides were exceptional, including our time spent on Glory Cruise on Halong Bay. The pre-booked meals were delicious, and we were more than happy with our upgraded hotels.
We had a minor issue with one of our tours in Phuket and when I notified Dat of this issue, not only did he respond right away, he rectified the situation and made our trip even better!
I would highly recommend Realistic Asia to everyone! Dat and his team offer exceptional service at a great price. They go far and beyond to ensure that their clients receive exceptional service. When I revisit SE Asia, I will definitely book through Realistic Asia and Dat!
