- L7541OGj_r_mec0 contributionsWe enjoyed biking through the Central Highlands!!We really enjoyed our 5 day bike trip we booked with Phat Tire. They usually offer longer trips but we got in contact with them and they were willing to arrange a 5 day trip for us. We went from Hoi An to Da Lat, going through the Central Highlands. On the way we saw beautiful landscape, and minority villages. It was relaxing to visit less “tousristy” areas. You have to share the road with big trucks and scooters but we still felt safe mainly because there was always a car / our driver near by and our guide would try to avoid to very busy roads. We would stop frequently during the day to fill our water bottles and have some of the snacks our driver prepared (fresh fruits or soft drinks). Our guide Linh was very open to discuss with us the different options each day (distance we wanted to bike and the route we wanted to take). We ate at many local restaurants and visited some historical monuments. We appreciated the good selection of hotel along the way.Written 17 October 2024
- Dream338006323320 contributionsBest day Ever Canyoning with Phat TyreBest day ever. My kids were 11 and 9 and it was such a great bonding experience for us. It was exciting and scary but I highly recommend it. You feel so alive and Phat Tyre are amazing guides. We always felt safe and their English is very good.Written 16 October 2024
- kaspers4130 contributionsGot a half tour with dangerous crawl, but had to pay for a full 👎The abseiling was very nice, and the instructors were very competent. Unfortunately, we only did 2 out of 4 abseilings due to the rain, and instead we had to do a 2 hours dangerous uphill “crawl”. After the dangerous “crawl”, we had to pay the full price, even if we only got the half of the tour. Not recommend. 😞Written 16 October 2024
- jesstW9172WT0 contributionsWonderful ride through the pinesI had a wonderful time on the Northern Exposure Mountain Biking morning ride (meet 8:30, hit the road before 9, back around 13:00)! Linh was an excellent guide - he was friendly and told interesting stories, and kept us informed as to what to expect at each section of the trail. I'm very much a beginner with mountain biking, and I appreciated that Linh offered lots of water breaks, and always reminded me that walking was an option when sections were too technical. The ride was very beautiful through the hills and pine trees, and at the end through local veggie farms. There were views of the Langbiang range. I'd say the route was moderately technical - not a gentle trail ride, and mountain bike was necessary (as opposed to hybrid/street bike). However, even with needing to walk sections, I still enjoyed the ride and was happy to see this area of Dalat. The bike was in excellent condition and was adjusted to fit me, and a helmet and fingerless gloves were also provided (small sizes). There was a full water bottle on the bike to stay hydrated, and the guide carried a refill. A tasty fruit snack break midways, and fruit and pastry and juice/coffee were provided once back at the office. Two people minimum to run the tour and I'm solo travelling, however I emailed ahead and was able to be paired with another person to make the day happen. Thanks very much Linh and team!Written 9 April 2024
- Dreamer270535245680 contributionsFantastic time with Phat Tire VenturesWe did the five day/four nights Adventure tour. We had a fantastic time from start to finish with Dong our guide, and our main driver Thom. Every pick up was on time, and the drive to each destination comfortable. We stayed at a beautiful riverside hotel in Cat Tien where we enjoyed the scenery, gibbons and crocodiles on two holes there. The three nights in Da Lat were in a lovely hotel run by the friendliest lady in the world! The hiking and kayaking in Dalat was incredible - really felt close to nature on the less well trodden paths and Dongs picnics were fantastic. Finally the cycle to Nha Trang! The most incredible scenery in front of us all day, and Phuc our driver for the cycling tour kept us topped up with snacks and cold water at every stop, as well as iced towels at the finish which were very welcome indeed! Really recommend this package to anyone wanting to explore the south from Cat Turn to Nha Trang and do it in an active way to really see Vietnam up close!Written 16 December 2023
- Departure100026955740 contributionsVin was a legendOr tour guide Vin was very friendly, funny, and patient. After he realised we weren't built for the full 37 KMs he took us the shorter route instead which was easier and only 22 km in total so anyone considering if they can do the full thing should take that into account. Would recommend!Written 9 December 2023
- survip20230 contributionsSuper day trip and mangosSuper day trekking through jungle and alpine forests, and kayaking on the lake. Our guide Lin was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! Vietnam is a wonderful country, but our experience has proved that it's the beautiful people that have made our trip memorable. We loved getting to know Lin and sharing his passion for the wild nature around Dalat. Very hearty lunch too - the mangos yum yum!!Written 27 November 2023
- mf6280 contributionsTwo nights in Da LatDid one full and two half days with them. Our guide, Linh, was great! He was knowledgeable and super helpful. He clearly loves what he does! Our driver, Phuc, was also lovely. We did some hikes through pine forest and jungle and the cultural tours of Coffee, flowers and silk. Sadly our kayaking was thwarted by massive thunderstorm and heavy rain, but enjoyed beauty of the storm.Written 12 October 2023
- toclem0 contributionsAmazing canyoning experience in Da Lat!We had an AMAZING canyoning experience with Phat Tire Ventures! Everything was perfect!! We further had the luxury to have two amazing guides, Sun and Hung, just for the two of us (where other groups comprised 8 to 10 participants). Sun and Hung were super helpful and professional: security is their first main concern. They took all the measures to make sure that we could have a great time with safety. We also would like to thank Ting Dong, our super friendly driver, for the nice ride! You should definitely go for a canyoning excursion with Phat Tire Ventures if you stay in Da Lat!Written 20 September 2023
- bdeboe830 contributionsthe undisputed highlight of our Vietnam holidayWe had a truly great time on the canyoning tour. After the team gave a safety briefing and practiced techniques until everyone (including the guides :-p) was confident, we set out for the real deal. The very first descent was still in the touristy area, but soon after we were in a wonderful forest with an amazing mixture of pine trees, bamboo, jungle stuff, and the river of course. The descents build up nicely in difficulty, and the three guides had a perfect routine in setting up and tearing down the safety ropes to minimise waiting times. They also took lots of pictures so we can make our friends and family jealous :-) The tour ended with a nice hike out of the canyon, just before it started raining after a sun drenched morning. Thanks Dung, Terry and Vinh for such a great day!Written 18 August 2023
- nikolausb3410 contributionsHike and KayakingThe hike was about two hours long through the hills and by the lake side. You can see everything from mountains to a tropical forest. We had a nice lunch with baguette, different vegetables cheese and sausage. The lake was really calm and pretty. We where basically the only tourist there and could explore as much as we wanted. Dong our tour guide was really nice. I can definitely recommend it.Written 17 August 2023

What a fabulous experience this trip was. Communication was easy over WhatsApp and our guide Linhde picked us up punctually at 7.30. It was quite a drive to get out of town to where we would meet our bikes but Lindh was chatty and gave us lots of information. We were a group of 4. The bikes were what we call In Australia Gravel bikes. They had smooth tyres and were really well maintained. Fully geared, disc brakes and front suspension. I was a little concerned about how I would go riding 70km in the heat but there really is lots and lots of downhill. It was an amazing ride with hardly any traffic at all and fantastic views. It bucketed with rain at one stage but that kind of added to the adventure and kept us cool. Lunch was delicious. We were exhausted and muddy by the end of the day but it really was a great day. Highly recommended and I’m so glad we did it. Linhde was a great guide and very safety conscious . He rode with us and we also had two vehicles following us so you feel very well looked after.

We had a very nice bike tour with Vinh from Da Lat to Mui Ne. Actually, the tour starts close to Di Linh and ends some kilometers before Mui Ne. In total the covered distance was about 70km, with a lunch stop at approx. 30km.
The road is not very busy, but in a very good condition for biking. The provided bikes were in good shape, too. To fit the right frame size we were asked for our heights beforehand. That worked out well.
Vinh was always concerned that we drink enough on the tour.
The tour organization was really good. The accompanying car waited at some stops and had us refill our bottles and provided some fruit. The driver was quick in fixing a flat tire - it took only 2 minutes and we were on the road again :)
At the end we were awaited with some cold towels, watermelon slices and cooled drinks.
The track is only difficult in the beginning and is then mainly downhill with some very short uphill passages. The last 15km were quite hot and mostly in direct sun. Therefore it's important to drink enough.
All in all, we had a very nice bike tour and can recommend to go with Phat Tire Ventures.

Enjoyable cycle ride along a quiet mountain road through the Vietnamese countryside with a nice lunch stop at a locals roadside cafe halfway.
We were collected at our hotel in Da Lat with all our luggage, transported in a vehicle to the start of the country road by two guys who were informative and enthusiastic, then driven to our hotel in Mui Ne after the cycling.
Good way to transfer between locations, get some exercise and take in the countryside.

Thoroughly recommended company. We actually booked 2 bike trips with Phat Tires. The first was a day tour of Dalat with Linh. Biked to a flower farm, coffee plantation, cricket farm, rice wine making place, an impressive Buddha statue and a silk factory. So good being on a bike in the countryside, and Linh’s fluency in English, personality and sharing of Vietnamese culture a highlight.
The 2nd day was the bike ride to Mui Ne. Once again in good hands with Linh, beautiful jungle scenery, quiet roads, a good local spot for lunch. Oh, and also a ‘spot’ of rain, but that’s all part of it! Thank you Phat Tires, we’ll be back.

Fantastic way to travel way from Da Lat to Mui Ne! Ling & Cuong were professional, friendly and fluent in English. The bikes were high end, the lunch was big and tasty, Ling told us about the local areas & people, we got as much drinking water as we wanted, fun down hill cycling and overall a great experience. Couldn’t be happier!

We did the tour as a couple.
As it was still Tet we thought it might not be possible.
Nevertheless the guys from Phat Tires made it possible and it was an amazing experience.
Starting 5k uphill, and then through the beautiful jungle with monkeys on the side of the streets. Downhill we had such a breathtaking view over the mountains and the jungles.
Our guide adjusted very well to our speed. Explained everything very good, not only concerning the bike (I have never been on a mountain bike before), but also the track and the surroundings.
The lunch break was a well prepared picknick at a local coffee shop. Including fresh fruit and sandwiches.
We did not make it till the very end as it was very hot and we are both not that well trained.
This was no problem as our "safety car" was just around the corner to pick us up and bring us to our hotel.
So far one of the most memorable experiences of our holiday in Vietnam.
Thanks a lot!

If you’re into great views and don’t mind a bit of exercise, this is the best way to get from Da Lat to Mui Ne. The roads are quiet and the scenery in the mountains is amazing. Our guide, Lin, went at our own pace, and was always encouraging and patient. I had no mountain biking experience before this, and managing to get up to some thrilling downhill speeds. The bikes are very high quality brand-name bikes with all the required accessories, and helmet, gloves and water are provided.
The trail is quite tough, but if you only want to do parts of it you can jump in the van for the uphills, or the long flat road at the end of the tour. Even if you don’t cycle the full route, the whole experience is worth it for the small villages you pass on the route and the gradual descent from cool highlands to the more humid parts at sea level.
We had a lovely Banh Mi picnic for lunch, and had plenty of stops for water, trail advice, pictures and local oddities.
I’d highly recommend this tour, and the professional service from Phat Tire would make me book another tour with them next time I am in Da Lat.
Thanks Lin and Mr Bo for a great day in the mountains.

We did the two day bike trip from Da Lat to Mui Ne and it was amazing! Our guide, Biet, was lovely and made sure we were comfortable and happy at all times! The first part of the trip was a bit scary, navigating traffic in busy Da Lat, but soon after we got to the country side and we felt much better. Still many trucks that pass very close and honk loudly, be prepared for this!
The driver, Fu (not sure about the spelling, sorry!), followed us the entire way. Even though we didn't need to sit in the car and rest, it was very comforting to know that this was a possibility in case the cycling got too much! Fu made sure we had a lovely lunch each day, baguettes and fruit, delicious! The overnight accommodation was very basic, but that was expected for a two day trip where we paid less than U$200 per person for the entire thing (bike, guide, driver, luggage transport, lunch, dinner, breakfast and lunch and hotel!).
Dinner on the night was at a very small, very local eatery. I got the feeling they didn't normally cater to tourists as there was no menu and definitely no English was spoken. We had the best time though, with Biet and Fu explaining the meal to us! For the first time ever we ate goat, it was delicious! It was an experience we would have missed out on if we hadn't done this tour, as we would have never had the guts to eat at such a local place since we don't speak any Vietnamese.
The second day of cycling was almost all countryside, we passed the most beautiful villages and rode through the jungle, luckily pretty much all of it downhill!
We finished up about 30 mins outside of Mui Ne and got transported to our our hotel. This was definitely the highlight of our trip and we are already making plans for a future trip with Phat Tyre! On that note, next time we will train more on the bike beforehand. We are both fit runners, but were struggling a bit with the uphill part of the course. Also, make sure to wear proper bike shorts. Your backside will thank you!

Firts we did a two day, one night hike in the jungle + a stay on the campsite Nam Qua. 6 hours of hiking around the lake through pine woods as well as jungle, with some nice challenges in between, when you need to cross water. Setting up your tent, making a fire and sleeping on the shore of the lake is great. In the morning doen kayaking and a light walk back.
The day after we booked a cycling tip from Dalat to Mui Ne (instead of our already initial transfer by minibus). What a wise decision. Great cycling (climbing, downhill and flat), great views, good lunch and most import high quality bikes, helmet and gloves. And always the supporting van following, so people can easily decide to stop and step in de van, which makes it a great adventure.
Both trips we were accompanied by our tourguide Hoang Viet Linh. Proving great info about the environment, speaking English very well and taking care of safety.

Hello, I would like to book but 2 things concerns me.
1) riding in the city... can we start riding after the traffic? When we are in small roads
2) do you transport all of our lugage to Mui Ne?
Thank you for answering
