Standing on an outcrop just 3 kilometers from the center of Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth is a truly beautiful and visionary place. Thanks to the vision of one Thai businessman. This magnificent temple is amazingly made entirely from wood, the Sanctuary of Truth has inspired the revival of traditional Thai building techniques. Every piece that has gone into constructing it is wood. That’s right – even the nails, connectors, everything is wooden. That’s incredible, right? As you wander the grounds, taking in the experience, you will be impressed with the design and the tranquillity of the Sanctuary. There are four wings to the temple, which take in the inspiration of Thai, Khmer, Chinese and Indian spiritual art. It is not just the beauty of the woodwork that is impressive about the Sanctuary of Truth, it’s the size. The building is 20 storeys high, and about as wide. You will not only find inspiration and a sense of peace here – you will also find enjoyment in the activities that the Sanctuary of Truth has on offer for visitors. Highlights include Thai cultural dancing and you can even opt to see the temple from the water with a ride in a speedboat. There will be no regrets from you or any of your fellow travellers if you choose to visit this beautiful place.

Traveled from Bangkok airport to Pattaya. Then from Pattaya back to Bangkok Hotel.
This was my first time in Thailand . Communication with Pattaya Central was very easy using WhatsApp always responded to any request or questions within minutes. Very personalized service had no problems at all. They walked me through the whole process and gave me all the options for payment and how to make reservations .highly recommend.

          A short visit to Pattaya
From our cruise stopover in Laem Chabang Thailand we did Bangkok on day 1 and Pattaya on Day 2. Pattaya - Wow. Tanna picked us up at the cruise port and we headed for Pattaya on a half day excursion. First stop, The Sanctuary of Truth. This is one of the top visits we had on the entire cruise. Tanna gave us lots of info. The ongoing workmanship of the building is so intricate and precise. Its hard to believe there is not a single nail. Its all just wood and how it's carved that holds it all together. And the message, in my words "why can't we all just get along". We drove along the waterfront to our next stop which was the Grand Buddha. I missed my toss of a coin into the bellybutton of one of the budda's but witnessed someone else who scored the hole in one and the promise of great wealth. We next went to Phra Tamnak Mountain Viewpoint with a great overview of Pattaya Beach and the city. Took some great pictures. Then down to the pier. A great top off for our half day tour. Our guide Hanna is very knowledgeable and obviously loves his work. Thanks so smuch.

          Excellent service
After a bad experience with a travel service that we have used many times, we tried Pattayacentral.com airport service and must say we will do so in the future. The driver came to the hotel punctually with an almost brand new electric car and drove us comfortably to the airport, we will ONLY use Pattayacentral.com in the future.

          Nice tour.
Our guide was very nice and helped with my father who needs mobility assistance. She did not rush us and allowed us to go at our own pace. When he could not do stairs at the giant Buddha she stayed with him so that I could go see it.

Best tour and tour guide I've ever had
This trip was incredible. First and foremost, I'd like to highlight just how incredible Lexi, the tour guide, was during the entirety of the trip. She's an exemplary example of excellence, kindness, knowledge, and fun. She offered quite a few historical and cultural tidbits about Pattaya: From the meaning of each Buddha statue, to the significance of the father of Thailands navy, to the majesty of The Sanctuary of Truth. She offered her insight and it was priceless. Her kind, calm demeanor made the tour incredible. The places you'll see are beautiful, culturally rich centers of Pattaya. They color the picture of Pattaya and paint it for what it is. A cultural melting pot with deep historic and spiritual roots. The views atop the royal hill are great. The gem tour, while not something I would have opted for proved to be interesting. The gem of this tour is The Sanctuary of Truth. Words fail to describe the enormity of this place; while physically large, it's where history, spirituality, existentialism, and human nature come to a colossal confluence. I was overwhelmed, I felt like crying, but I walked away enlightened. Thank you Lexi for an incredible day.

          The Best of Pattaya
Perfect excursion for cruise passengers! This tour gave us the highlights of Pattaya. It included their beaches, Big Buddha, Pattaya "Hollywood" sign, city streets and the best part was The Sanctuary of Truth. S of T is a very interesting place to visit. You even get the chance to ride an elephant around the entire site - highly recommend it!

Must see, Don't miss! Go Private Tour!
Nothing better than a private tour. Both Tour Guide, Po and Driver (Eg?) did a fantastic job. Po was an excellent guide. At our first stop at the Big Buddha in Pattaya Po took the time to explain the many Buddha Statues, the meaning, how to observe Buddha, lighting incense and candles, and getting a better understanding of the importance of Buddha in the lives of Thai. Our next stop was the cliff where Pattaya City sign is. We parked at the top of the hill and took the steps down for the photo opp. It was a beautiful clear day so we were not having to battle rain so all our photos came out fantastic. Next stop was north to the Sanctuary of Truth. By far a most incredible and humbling experience. The Founder developed this structure in recent times (compared to much of the history of Buddha) and is constructed entirely out of wood, no nails, joining all the wood components to make this vast and tall structure. The Sanctuary is visible from any high point in Pattaya as you look north you can see the ornamental top. The guide during our walk thru in English is employed by the Sanctuary and in 45 minutes we were provided so much information about the carvings, the meanings, the history, the purpose, and relevance to Thai. Most definitely the highlight of my trip to Pattaya. Po was very caring about my well being. Water, cold cloth, umbrella for shading, and making sure I was ok throughout the entire trip. I was picked up from my hotel promptly at 9am and returned around 12:30. I highly recommend this tour and if you have the chance, book it privately so you are in your own car. Well worth it! Thanks again to Po for doing an outstanding job.

          Very Grateful
Family of 5 here with 2 teens and one elderly. We arrived in Pattaya without any travel tour bookings. Long story as to why and it’s not relevant here. That same day, I went to a Pattaya Group Chat in FB hoping for an advice or maybe get lucky to get a driver who is willing to tour us for at least a day. Luckily, I found Lex. As soon as I messaged her, I knew in my instincts that she can be trusted. We spoke also via WhatsApp so that made it even better. In the end, we booked 3 days straight with her and was able to enjoy Pattaya to the fullest. Her drivers are professional and friendly; willing to go an extra mile for us newbies. I love how Lex helped me plan our day and plan our overall tour. I would tell her where we wanted to go and she would plot it so it’s on the same route or advised us or suggest an alternate tour. Everything is so smooth and flexible. Everything is reliable and easy. It made our stay in Pattaya stress free and memorable. We were able to visit a lot of sights. Had I not already booked a tour driver for us in Bangkok, I would have probably use her services there as well. I wonder if she does Bangkok tour too? Overall, Lex and her agency is truly one of the best tour agencies I’ve worked with. If you want quality service, this one is for you. Thank you, Lex for accepting us last minute and for helping me put together an awesome trip for my family. We are still in Cebu, Philippines. We have already visited Bangkok, Siem Reap, Hanoi and Taipei. Pattaya is one of the best vacation we had this summer because of you and your team. Hope to see you and your team again on our next visit to Thailand. I’ll be in touch.

          Highly Recommend this Tour!!!
My tour guide was Lexi, and she did an excellent job showing me various spots around Pattaya. She had a lot of knowledge about the different landmarks, had a great sense of humor, and was a safe driver. If you want a fantastic private tour where you get to see the Big Buddha, viewing sights, and Sanctuary of Truth, you should definitely take this tour. Lexi provided me with a refreshing cold towel and water and even took me to King Taskin’s statue on the beach as I was interested in King Taskin, and it was on the way to the Sanctuary of Truth. She also took many high quality photos and gave me time to look around at each spot. Don’t hesitate to book this tour as if you have Lexi you are guaranteed a great time!

This is an outstanding temple with wood carvings, much better than most mosques, thongs or temples

The tall standing wooden structure is eye catching as it looks like it is hanging off the sea shore

We were there early to beat the crowd and the heat. The sea breeze certainly gives you a quick relief from the hot humid sensation.

There are tours conducted within the premises offered in different languages. Unfortunately there are too many stories ,information and facts to tell which last over one hour which makes it hard to digest and follow. They could do a better job by printing the story out for reading and reference

The guide spokes quite fast and we started with a crowd of 50 and ended up with ten at the end of the tour as most visitors either lost interest or they cannot catch up

Within the wooden temple there are stories based on family values,Buddhism, philosophy, life and death which was quite interesting

The noise of the crowd with the microphone of the guide seem to negate your hearing and comprehension

There are other attractions including elephant riding, wood carving ,restaurant etc

You need to plan ahead to make it worthwhile

It did not get a score of 5 because of the speed how the tour was conducted as it is jammed packed with information,if you are a slow walker you will miss out!

This is one of the grandest and most impressive wooden structures I've ever seen in my life! It looks like a temple, but it's actually a museum. Its construction began in 1981 and is still ongoing. The whole place is full of carvings, particularly of statues of both Hindu and Buddhist inspiration. Access and guided tours are by language group. Entrance fee is 500 Baht per head, but I heard that it costs less if you buy your ticket online. Aside from the museum itself, there's also a mini-zoo in the compound, a restaurant, a place where you can ride elephants, etc.

This is not a temple. This is a museum. As we were told by the tour guide, this museum was built up with no nails, & the museum is to show the good & bad of human side, n the purposes of life.
However, this place is not fully completed when we visited on 10 Aug 22.

The sanctuary is a must-see wooden carving masterpiece. So many wonderful details that you do not know where to look first. I was excited! (And, you can read a lot of true ideas how to improve your life to make you and people around you better and happy.) I have chosen the first term of transfer in the morning which was perfect to avoid the huge tourist crowds comig later. The English-speaking driver picked me up at the hotel at exact time (no collection of other guests from other hotels, comfort clean car), gave me the ticket and let me on my own in the sanctuary areal for as long as I wished. At the entrance to the sanctuary tour (steep steps downhil!), there is an information plate about the times of guided tours in different languages, you have to wait for your language. I had to wait for English some 30 minutes. In that time you can visit a mini-ZOO, souvenir shop or cafeteria. In the sanctuary, helmets are obligatory. After the tour you can stay and take photos as long as you want, drink a coconut or order some meel. I used a free shuttle to get back to the parking place where the driver was waiting and put me back to the hotel. The whole trip took from 8:00 to 11:30. Well spent morning. Not cheep, but well invested money.

Disgusting place because feet from the exit right in front of you as you leave the sanctuary is a vision of Hell. In front of you was a small area with 7/8 beautiful elephants who were being abused
        Let me please explain
24 hours later I am still upset with the obscenity that I witnessed. I am traumatised. All their talk of love, understanding, karma, good and evil etc in the sanctuary and then feet from the exit right in front of you as you are leaving they allow this obscenity. This is 2024 not 1974.. No one harms the animals now. They are innocent creatures. You traumatised me.. I reported to the staff what I saw and they agreed with me. One staff member told me - I cannot look out ( the windows) and see the elephants. It upsets me. Another staff member told me - they use the bill hooks with pain to control them
No way would I ‘ ride ‘ on the back of one of these creatures who has been beaten., tied up and abused into submission until their spirits are broken. I noticed 3 elephants doing the rounds with thick stupid tourists ‘ riding’ on them. Then I noticed the bill hooks in the hands of the guys controlling them. You’re right I lost it. In case you do not know these bill hooks cause extreme pain to the elephants when they are beaten with them. The elephants scream with the extreme pain. It’s how these evil people control them. I shouted at them with what they were doing and they laughed at me. Yes they did but not 10 minutes later when I marched into the elephant’ paddock ‘ . Where the elephants were congregated and took out my camera phone. I began to film them asking where the bull hooks were. Hey presto all the bill hooks had disappeared. Some keepers had disappeared completely. The few sat there were not laughing at me now surprise surprise. They knew I spoke the truth. They knew I was mad with anger. Silence is complicity. I cannot remain silent.
A terrible terrible experience. A visit to Hell. Sure go if you want to be transferred like me. Your choice . For 1 million dollars I would not enter that place agai

Beautiful building on the ocean. Fascinating. Cons-pricey at about $14 a person, with crowds I saw they are making bank, stairs - flight to stairs to go down and back up, disabled access?, crowds - probably crowded all the time, was today. guides- good luck if you are with your language guide, difficult to hear guide speaking. At the North end of Pattaya.
