- CarlosS1056000An amazing trip!A very helpfull experience with Bravo Indochina Tours! Two wonderful places all should see once in a lifetime 👍🏼
- brenfarr198700DisappointmentFirst of all, I would like to start by saying that the tour guides and driver we had the first two days of the tour were absolutely wonderful. Bird, Joe, and Cook from Avatar tour (or Avatar travel, I'm not entirely sure of the company name) were so nice and informative. However the third day was honestly quite horrible and ultimately what has led to me leaving this 2 star review, along with some other things. I would also like to state that this was actually the second time I've taken this tour. I went last year with a friend a enjoyed it so much that I decided to take my mom this time. 1. Breakfast - the description of the tour clearly states that the guest is to receive 2 breakfasts as part of the payment. It of course comes with the hotel that they book you into. We were barely able to get even one breakfast because the 2nd day of the tour we were picked up at 6:30am, which is the same time breakfast started. My mom, who is 71, tried to at least grab a pastry from the breakfast buffet and was yelled at my hotel staff. The 2nd day of the tour is visiting Ayutthaya and our tour guide didn't end up giving us lunch until 1:30pm and we'd been up since 5am. My mom got to the point where she nearly passed out. 2. lunches - when I took this tour last year with my friend, we had lunch covered every day and I very clearly remembered reading, when I originally booked this year's tour, that all the lunches would be covered but they were not and now the description has also changed to state 1 lunch. Only day 2, Ayutthaya, was covered. The rest of the time we had to fend for ourselves, which wouldn't be too bad except day 1, again, our tour guide had us go-go-going, that we really had no time to stop. It wasn't until we got to Temple of Dawn were he finally asked us if he could go eat, which we of course said yes cause we also needed the break and food. 3. Viator chat operator - after we returned back to our hotel on day 2, we asked our guide, Joe, when we were to be picked up for day 3, but he had no clue - nobody gave him the information. So I went through the viator (this tour is actually hosted by viator, which is a subsidiary of TripAdvisor) chat to message the operator at 3pm about pick up time and whether we could actually eat breakfast this time - got absolutely no response. I later attempted to call through the hotel phone line but none of the phone numbers worked because the hotel could not dial international numbers and there was no local number provided. Finally, at 8pm, I messaged through the chat again and got a response that our pick up time would be at 7:30am. 4. All of day 3 - after getting ready the next day, we go down to eat around 7:15 and while checking out, I'm told that the driver is already there to pick us up. I was specifically told 7:30 so I said we're going to eat first. Later the driver and front desk staff came over while we're eating to tell us that we were supposed to be picked up at 7am not 7:30 and at this point, I was done. I told them again we were told 7:30 and we will finish at 7:30. At precisely 7:30 the driver comes again and hands me his phone where a very rude person proceeds to tell me (in a semi-yelling voice) that we were supposed to be ready at 7 and there are other people to be picked up. I finally yelled back that I was told 7:30, we are finishing our food now and will be leaving. I later discovered the person on the phone was our tour guide. Also there were supposed to be 3 stops on day 3 but we only went to 2, the floating market and the railroad, we didn't see Wat Bang Kung. 5. private tour - last year, day 1 and day 3 of this tour was a private tour. My friend and I had our own guide and driver and could take the tour at our own pace. Only the trip to Ayutthaya is combined with other tourists which makes sense. This time we only had day 1 to ourselves and had day 3 with another traveler. I honestly don't mind this but would appreciate it if we had been informed ahead of time - also the site again clearly states that it's a private tour and we would be traveling on our own. I understand this year is a huge boom in tourism so scheduling everybody is difficult but just keeping us informed would be nice. 6. The hotel - the hotel was okay, except the fridge was broken, as well as the bathroom door. We were so tired the first day that we went right to sleep, so we didn't notice these problems until the second day. Maintenance almost tried to get us to switch rooms but they eventually got the fridge fixed and we just decided to deal with the bathroom door for one more night. The staff was nice except the one lady who yelled at my mom for grabbing a pastry. Overall, I'm disappointed in how this tour turned out. I had such a great time last year and was excited to share it with my mom but it was kind of a bust. Like I said before, Joe, Bird, and Cook of avatar tours were wonderful and I'll book with them directly, but I won't be using Bravo Indochina Tours again.
- 655saifa00Excellent Tour, lovely tour guide. It was a very well organized trip, excellent tour guide and we enjoyed our day. We visited the tribes village and the tea farms, tour chiang Sean to border of Myanmar. The lunch was very delicious and as requested it was a Halal Muslim restaurant. We did a visit to golden triangle and the opium house. The tour guide (Sandy) was very passionate, helpful and caring. Thanks to her.
- Mike2012London00Great introduction to the city and countryHalf day tour of Vientiane. Well designed tour, with plenty of interest and knowledgeable guide. He gave me the option of extending the tour to visit the COPE visitor centre which was both shocking and inspiring.
- richwG9866NK00Fantastic Thailand - 9 Days'Fantastic Thailand - 9 Days' Just got back from this 9 day tour of Thailand and I have a lot to say. Much of it is glowingly positive, some is not. First, the guides were great at their jobs. They were all super knowledgeable about the sights we were seeing or the areas we visited. They all spoke good English and articulately explained everything well. Having someone local to show me around and point out details I might otherwise miss was wonderful! Most of the attractions we saw were outstanding. The Golden Buddha and Reclining Buddha temples in Bangkok along with the royal palace were incredible and awe inspiring. Chiang Mai itself was lovely along with the Doi Suthep Temple, street markets and dinner/cultural dancing etc. The boat tour of the Phi Phi Islands off Phuket was one of the most beautiful places I've been in my life. These all had a major impact on me and I will never forget them. I am actually already starting to think about which ones I want to see again in more detail. The hotels were nice, clean and modern. I don't need fancy places to stay, but every one was recently updated and had a breakfast buffet waiting for me each morning. They were all serviced well and very accommodating. Traveling to each new part of the tour was seamless and easy. That and every attraction was taken care of by Indochina Tours and made my life much easier since I didn't have to deal with buying tickets to individual attractions, etc. One thing I was not crazy about was that when I booked a "tour" I assumed there would be other people traveling, or at least seeing these sights together. For most of these excursions I was the only one on the tour. Part of why I booked a tour was to meet other people since I was traveling solo. I wish I would have known that I was the only one going. Also, I would have liked to have a contact person there with me at each stop, not in another country away from everything that's happening. For example, when I got to the hotel in Phuket at night after a long travel day, they couldn't find my reservation. I had to try to get the leader of the tour on the phone (who was in another country) and get her to speak to the hotel manager. It was frustrating. When I first arrived in Bangkok after nearly a full day of traveling from the US, the person who was supposed to meet me at the airport was not there. It was 3 AM local time and there was almost nobody in the airport to ask for help. Again, my contact person was in another country, though one on the same time zone so she must have been asleep. The first day of tour events was not something I would have chosen to see. The rail market, floating market and sea salt manufacturing process were boring at best and not worth a nearly 2 hour drive outside of Bangkok, especially when I had just arrived in a new, vibrant, exotic city. There must be plenty of places or attractions within Bangkok I could have seen, but they did not choose that for me. They were flexible though. One of the days in Chiang Mai we were supposed to drive 3 hours to the Golden Triangle and go to a museum of opium. I told my guide that I didn't want to do that and I would rather see some of this new, amazing city I had just arrived in. Instead she showed me parts of the city and then we drove out to a waterfall you can climb up in a national park. All in all, I would recommend Indochina Tours in general. They did a mostly great job. I would suggest that they swap out some of the attractions on this itinerary, like the floating market and the Golden Triangle for things inside of those respective cities.
- sarikio00I highly recommend this tour for first-time visitors to Thailand like myself. My overall experience was excellent. I highly recommend this tour for first-time visitors to Thailand like myself. I saw diverse parts of Thailand, from the capital to the northern region and southern islands. I enjoyed visiting the elephant sanctuary and canoeing in the bay filled with limestones. The private tour guides for my trip were excellent; they were very personable and friendly. I like the direct communication with the tour company via Whatsapp. I didn't have to worry about much during my trip because they organized everything for me from when I landed in Bangkok to the end of my tour. The only thing I didn't like was some of the hotels that were selected for my trip. They weren't my style. I mentioned it to the tour company, who quickly made changes to accommodate me. Thailand is a beautiful country to visit, and I recommend this tour.
- pitrodav00Vietnam & Cambodia TripGroup of 10 Travelling between 5-21st March from the UK. All in all, we had an enjoyable trip it was hectic back-to-back but never the less a memorable holiday. Both Vietnam & Cambodia were amazing countries and highly recommend them. Bravo Indochina are a good tour company there were flexible in accommodating our few tweaks and I would recommend them. I am grading them down purely on poor communication. The only negative point of this trip is the Lack of Communication not sure where the breakdown was: - We received our full itinerary a day before were due to travel. We were not informed by the guide to pack and overnight back for the Halong Cruise, which meant we all lugged our suitcase, ce. Last minute hotel change again we were told that the Tara Angkor Hotel On arrival at the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel, we were told by our Tour guide that our evening Meal only to be told at the restaurant that we had to pay for our meal. How can a guide get something so crucial wrong………. We were told that we have trip to a religious village, this was not part of our Itinerary, collectively as a group we were not keen, our guide asked us all to sign a disclaimer, very bizarre when a phone call would to Tony would have been sufficient. I personally felt that Our guide handled the interchange (domestic flight to international fight) luggage allowance very unprofessionally causing anxiety and unnecessary stress and panic within the group. We are all well-travelled in the group and this concern was pro-actively raised and we were reassured that this would be OK.
- ZLawrence00Grand of Indochina Tour 27 DaysFirstly I would like to say I had a fantastic time. There are however some areas that I feel could be improved hence the 4 star review. Ive also added a few tips which I hope will be useful. Prior to the trip there was huge lack of communication. I messaged Bravo Indochina through the Tour Radar portal and I literally had no response for weeks to the point where Tour Radar were also chasing. I was travelling alone which I have done numerous times before but do expect clear communication and instructions prior to the trip. I still had unanswered queries the day before my departure and although I had been sent the itinerary there were quite a few errors particularly with the flights. This all created unnecessary stress especially given Visas were required for all three countries. Whilst I had understood that this would not be a fully accompanied tour I had thought there would be a consistent group of people and some continuity with Guides at least within each country. Instead I was on a series of day trips, sometimes with other people, sometimes alone and with a different guide pretty much each day with the odd exception. Obviously Im talking from a solo traveller point of view but this was extremely disappointing and I wouldn't have booked this particularly trip if Id known as I wanted to travel in a group. Luckily I'm perfectly happy travelling alone so I just embraced this so as not to spoil my holiday. Teo from BravoIndochina was on hand via WhatsApp through out the trip but If you are a solo traveller looking to travel as part of a larger group this is not the trip for you. Flight/ start times in general seem to be arbitrary, also the note on the trip description about no early start times is not true. Its not a problem but I generally had meet times of 7:30am and sometimes earlier. Know your itinerary as there were several occasions where things that hadn't been communicated back to actual the guide but are included within cost already. Once checked they were included no problem but would have been overlooked if I hadn't mentioned. Guides were all generally very good, informative and really helpful so no issues there. There was no welcome dinner as noted in the itinerary, I was dropped off at a hotel with pick up for the first trip the following day. Hotels were not all up to scratch, at my first hotel (Blue Diamond Luxury in Ho Chi Minh) I was given a room which had no window, bugs and the room was very damp so smelt bad too. The hotel itself was nice and great location but rooms unsatisfactory. BravaIndochina did change it for me when I complained though, and also swapped out a few of other hotels. In general there does seem to be a damp issue in most hotels in Vietnam, but they all swapped out for another room when I asked. All hotel staff were very friendly and tried to accommodate needs as best they could. At Orchid hotel in Hue I couldn’t fault the staff, they were lovely and hotel nice but very noisy as in backpackers district, also had noisy generator above as room was on the top floor. The itinerary was changed to include a short high speed train journey between Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang due to customer complaints that the car journey was unpleasant. The train was really quick, It’s 40mins train journey and very efficient so you get some free time in Luang Prubang which is great. However a few things to be aware of on arrival at the station; you need to show passport with ticket, your bags are scanned and if they pick up any aerosols they make you unpack and confiscate the aerosols. I’d been on five flights travelled half way around the world and had my insect repellant confiscated for a 40 minute train journey. The drive between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh includes for some temple visits and a stop over at Kompong Thom. I personally would have preferred to have driven all the way to Phnom Penh, whilst its a long drive its broken up with visits and lunch. The lunch was in a very strange place, basically a restaurant in an empty carpark with no-one in the restaurant so think this needs to be changed. The hotel was nice and had a pool but not near anything. I would have rather had another night in Pnomh Penh. As is normal in South East Asia you need to cover up shoulders and knees to enter temples; this is any temple and needs to be a physical t-shirt, trousers they will not accept a scarf across as they inspect underneath. You will also need to adopt this dress code for palaces and war/ genocide related places. Overall I did have a lovely holiday but would strongly recommend that hotels are reviewed and care is taken to properly communicate and be clear about what this trip actually is. As a traveller you need to be on the ball to make sure you are getting what you have paid for.
- spm2300Planes, Trains and Automobiles (to enjoy amazing places)Absolutely amazing 21 day Indochina tour visiting Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and then Bangkok. The guides, the travel, the hotels, the food, everything was just brilliant. 7 flights, 1 train and multiple car journeys packed in amazing experiences across all 4 countries with such knowledgeable guides to help us know so much and enjoy some incredible and humbling sites. Would definitely recommend using these, our tour said it could be upto 10 people, we were just a couple with the guide pretty much every day. Felt like royalty being taken around the amazing WAT’s and so many other beautiful places. Some early starts and long days but never felt exhausted from it, just enthralled and amazed. Book with Bravo, you won’t be disappointed

- Albertus99900The amazing and fantastic experience Bravo Indochina Tours delivered. We took the "Amazing Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam 18 days" tour and customized it to a private tour for the 4 of us and upgraded the hotels to 5 stars. This tour was amazing and provided a chain of highlights whether it was cultural in nature, infrastructure, historical sites, floating markets, elephant sanctuary, overnight cruise, experiencing real life in the country or big city, dinner dance show, museums, learning about the Vietnam war, meeting local people and tasting local foods, it was simply fantastic. The people everywhere were extremely friendly. We highly recommend Bravo Indochina Tours. Toni, the operating manager of Bravo Indochina Tours was fantastic. He was helpful, responded prompt to any of texts via WhatsApp and greatly contributed to the fantastic time we had. From the experience we had, it is hard to imagine that anybody would be disappointed taking this tour. The tour guides were knowledgeable, extremely friendly, fun and very helpful. We could not have had it any better.
- ArchieGee00A fab holiday despite some bumps along the way!Me and my husband really enjoyed our 18 day tour overall and all excursions within and the food that were included. It took a lot of effort after purchasing the tour, to get everything confirmed and finalised in writing. There were errors found and timings were wrong in the itenary etc There was a lot of back and forth via whatsapp right up until the last minute. When we were thereThe tour guides we had were all really lovely and knowledgeable and the majority spoke exceptional English. We had enough time at each of the sites we visited which were included in the tour. Transportation was very comfortable too with water provided. Everything was timely, although on the odd occasion we were picked up earlier than expected which left us rushing around. If you're looking to get a glimpse of these beautiful countries and don't have endless amount of time, this tour will do it. Majority of the areas we stayed in were touristy and so you'd have to travel elsewhere/further out to experience the authentic lifestyle. Some hotels weren't great. We needed to stay in touch with Toni from BravoIndochina on a frequent basis, (more often than i would have liked), to get information on flights, pick up times, hotels etc and sort out some issues we experienced. You need to have access to data to do this. You should expect some changes, namely to hotels, and some itenary items not being covered which left us disappointed on occasions. Toni was at hand to respond and help come to solutions. If you had the time and patience, you could probably arrange this trip yourself for a fraction of the price. Tours are easily accessible wherever you stay. We decided to go with Bravo as its less hassle and you can just enjoy the holiday without having to make plans whilst you're there. Overall we had a great time on this tour despite all the rearranging.
- layraybay00Great guides, highlights tourI traveled solo through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. My entire trip was planned by Bravo except flights to and from SE Asia. They sent me a personalized itinerary about six weeks before the trip with specific dates, accommodations, and internal flights. This was very helpful to have in advance. I picked this company since they offered trips to all four countries on dates that worked best for me. I am not entirely sure why specific your dates are offered as I traveled by myself. Because there were your dates, I expected to be a part of a larger group but that was not the case. That was something I should have asked about - a misunderstanding. Also, some of the places were just reopening to visitors, which meant the company had less customers than usual so that may have been a factor. Regardless, I got a individual tour! I am not thrilled that I paid an extra $700 because I was solo. I understand that running a tour for one person is expensive, but the company could have cancelled it if it was costing them too much or checked to make sure I understood that I would be paying to travel alone. The guides were great, a different one in each city. Attractions and transportation were included in the original price. I only spent additional money on the flights to/from Asia, visas, food, laundry, and souvenirs. I definitely think it was worth it to have someone else take care of all the logistics because there were A LOT! The tour was jam packed with the best of each area. I appreciated that there was some independent days to relax and evenings were almost always free. The guides in each place and a rep from the company all regularly texted with me to coordinate and confirm details. This was incredibly helpful and reassuring. I did not get a SIM card but every hotel had wifi. Most of the hotels were in great locations, such as everyplace in Vietnam. The hotels in Laos and Cambodia were not close to the centers of town but still walkable to a restaurant or two each. I would recommend finding hotels more central. This tour was full of breathtaking moments such as the Hoi An lanterns, Halong Bay cruise, and a trip to the killing fields in Cambodia. I feel like I had the chance to see most of the highlights in these four popular and beautiful countries. Overall, I would highly recommend Bravo. My only suggestions are to communicate with them about the size of your tour and additional solo charges.
- MayAnn2500Thailand TravelThe elephant sanctuary was a blast. And the tour guides, especially the ones in Bangkok and Chaing Mei were very resourceful and friendly
- Phil G00Solo trip by surpriseTo my surprise and disappointment I was the only one on the tour. My guide Lee was very good but without other travelers made for some lonely times. If had known I would be the only one I would have made other plans.
