- BlightyEngland0 contributionsPiano(the tour guide) will entertain you all day!!!!!!!What a fabulous experience which I and my family could easily repeat.Piano(yep) the tour guide made the day with her never ending jokes and permanent smile…with an infectious laugh. From beginning to end it was very well organised. The waterfall, bagodas, hillside village and local market were truly great experiences. If you are going to only do one tour in Chiang Mai do this one.My teenagers loved it….and so did my wife and I.Written 11 August 2024
- angelawK4741MA0 contributionsA good workoutIt was a good day and the hike was a workout. I think it should be mentioned that there are many many steps on this hike not just an incline. The lunch was great and the pagodas interesting. I was glad to support the coffee farm after they converted from opium The guide was very nice . I would have liked more AC in the van, it was not working well.Written 30 April 2024

- Camper415305624980 contributionsWorst driving experience ever. Tour was baaaad.Garbage. Driver-NEGATIVE 5/5 (worst ride I've had in my life) Guide-1/5 Waterfall, temples, hike-5/5 2 villages-1/5 Detailed version. After everyone was picked up we drove 10 minutes and then had a 30 minute break (WTR REALLY!?!) so people could get snacks due to a late lunch (2pm). What a waste of time. This should have been either 10 minutes or avoided altogether. Very easy to add "late lunch, bring snacks" in the description, or send a note to guests. We came prepared, but had to waste 30 minutes here. First stop, temples, were cool. Very cold so maybe bring a jacket (high elevation). Second stop is the highest point in thailand. We found it boring but I'm sure many would like it. Its a 10 minute loop for a photo. 3rd was the hike. That was cool. Lots of stairs, but you can take your time. About 2-2.5 hours. Small nice waterfall. 4th stop-waste of time. Little market, maybe 50 shops, but almost all were EXACTLY the same. Just a tourist trap. We walked for 5 minutes, saw everything, then 10 more to kill time ( and saw the same shop repeat itself over and over). Lunch- not great, not horrible, just meh. Each portion is for 4 people. Due to 6 wanting vegetarian, we were forced to also jave vegetarian, while the only 4 who weren't got fish. Not impressed. The coffee/tea village was also a tourist trap. We sat at a table, guide said "here are 3 teas and a coffee, try them, then go buy them". He didn't even hand out glasses, we had to do it ourselves. (Was not impressed with him at all). Last waterfall was cool. The driver though. OMFG horrible!!! His idea of going down a hill was SLAM on the breaks for 0.5s, let go for 1s, SLAM on the brakes for 0.5s, and repeat for 20 minutes. The bus jerked violently the entire time, several people felt quite ill and wanted to puke, and everyone complained. It was the worse experience in a vehicle in any context in the nearly 40 years I've been alive. Yes, that bad. Our guide also provided little to no info. Quick regurgitation of basic info then disappeared. He spent more time on Facebook than he did anything else. Do the stuff on your own!Written 27 January 2024

- Extraordinary5058400 contributionsWonderful trip to Doi Inthanon, though the tour operator needs to stop offering elephant riding tours.I really loved this tour. Both the driver and our guide were great, and I learned a lot. They took good care of us, they were always friendly and helpful, the meal was tasty, and we saw some unbelievable sights, not to mention getting to taste local coffee and tea. The only downside to this operation is that unfortunately, Wendy (the tour operator) still does elephant riding tours, which is deplorable, as it's well understood how abusive that practice is to elephants. I think they, along with other tour operators, need to move away from this barbaric practice and take tourists to authentic elephant rescue centres or sanctuaries instead.Written 4 January 2024
- 543sandraj0 contributionsNot what was advertised.Indicated 12 people max in tour, but we had 22. They combined two vans for 1 tour. Tour guide kept changing vans Hard to hear your guide when sitting in back of van. He spoke broken English so trying to translate and hear was difficult. Too soft spoken Not a great guide. Basically just told where we were and when to be back. No additional info was given on history of the area Was disappointed when we got to the highest point. Guide basically walked us around a trail with no opportunity to take in what we were looking at. Didn't allow us to stop and take a picture with the famous sign that said "highest point". The stop at Ban Mae Klang Luang was a joke. No watching and culture. It was a quick stop to eat then move on to a sales stop to buy coffee. No watching people in their environment. Got back to hotel around 7-7:30, not the 5 or 6 like advertised which messed up our evening plans.Written 30 December 2023

- Alex W0 contributionsGreat time and beautiful parkThe tour was very well coordinated and the park was beautiful. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Without knowing much about the park, it felt that we saw everything we should have seen that day. There were two surprises that were not in the itinerary, a coffee and tea tasting and a visit to a small market. Both were wonderful additions. I would recommend this tour!Written 15 November 2023
- rowannem7580 contributionsOK if you want to be on main tourist trailAverage tourist trap sights. Tour description says maximum 12 people and they certainly crammed 12 people into a mini bus. Long drives with not much to really see. Waterfalls were nice but nothing spectacular. Mountain village - there were loads of buses and tourists. Being one of what get like hundreds of other such buses was a disappointment. Our guide was fine, very pleasant and approachable, although their job seemed to be more was more about directing toilet breaks. Go if you want to see countryside and have limited time to do so, as we did,Written 25 October 2023

The stop at the first site was not a place I would return to. It’s dark, there are no lights and there are bats in the caves of the temple. Not much to see there.
The second site is a beautiful place with 306 steps to climb. My partner was not able to make it up do to physical restraints, but since the guide did not wait for us I did not find out until I was all the way up that there are electric escalators available. My partner was never able to make it up because by the time I found out there was very little time for her to go up. So we paid for 2 but only one got to enjoy it. The guide should have asked if everyone was ok to make it up there and given us the information that escalators were available. He was always rushing in the front without noticing if his whole group was together.

The first stop on the tour takes you to Wat Umong. In the daylight I'm sure this is a stunning location, but by the time we arrived, it was pitch black. We all used our phone torches to navigate the steps but were unfortunately unable to see the outside of the temple (or much else but our feet). The underground visit inside was interesting though and we did get to see some resident bats.
The second stop on the tour is Doi Suthep, which is high up in the mountain and is reached by cable car on arrival. This one is very visible, and aesthetically was very impressive. We also got to see monks and locals together conducting one of their services before we saw a skyline view of Chiang Mai.
It did take us a long time to reach both stops, both through local traffic conditions and the distance between the two places. It was a shame that we couldn't see much at stop one though. Our guide for the trip seemed lovely, but didn't introduce himself/the itinerary when we arrived and we struggled to hear him when we were at both stops.
A different way of seeing the temples, yes, but would I do it again? Probably not.

This was a 4.5 but I decided to round up.
First of all, this tour was of excellent value.
Both temples were beautiful and interesting in their own right, though Doi Suthep is the more famous one.
Two small caveats:
- The tour guide was professional and passionate, but his English was not always easy to understand.
- We saw the Doi Suthep view well after sunset. I think this view might have been better when there was some daylight left because it becomes hard to differentiate any of the city features at night.
The two caveats weren't a big deal for me, but might be more impactful for others. Overall, a very positive experience.

The highlight of this tour was the Doi Suthep temple! It’s over 500 steps to get to the top but it was worth it- spectacular view of the whole city and the temple itself is breathtaking. Visited 2 temples total, would’ve liked to seen more or at least include additional nightlife things in the package. If your looking for a short, simple night tour then this is suffice.

The tunnels were visited as a walk through.
The guide wasted time outside every location telling jokes instead of letting us visit the places.
The tour guide wasn’t letting us take our own photos. He jumped in front of the buddha statues while at the tunnel and reprimanded me for taking pictures while he was speaking. Because we didn’t have time.
So most people didn’t take photos at the tunnels and he continued to control the picture taking by saying he was going to take them for us.
Then, I petted a dog that was there, a clearly domesticated and friendly dog whose owner was around. He told us not to pet dogs as it was dangerous.

Sorry to hear the negative feedback. This is a guided tour in which a guide provides explanations and escorts. A guide explains the temple's history and Thai Buddhism. After the explanation, a guide gives guests time to take pictures. And Generally, the guests are happy when the guide takes pictures for them.
As for dogs, they look gentle on the outside. However, several of our guests were bitten by those while petting them, so we had to take those guests to the hospital. The dog's owner was not responsible for the hospital bill, and the company had to pay for that. Moreover, we don't know if the dogs have been vaccinated against rabies. That's why guides warn guests never to touch dogs during the tour. Thank you for your valuable review.

This private tour was a perfect introduction to Chiang Mai. The trip to Doi Suthep and Watt AMong was informative and the sites were beautiful at night. The information provided by the guide was extensive and the views of the City from the temple were amazing. I highly recommend this tour

Went with my Son, Wife and their young family 2 & 5 years old who live in Chiang Mai and my 83 year old Mum. We were unable to be collected as advertised for an additional fee - this caused us a lot of stress as eventually we had to drive to the first temple, then wait for communication which was not forthcoming.... We constantly had to call the office for reassurance prior to the trip to try and establish why we could not be collected and where to meet, as well as when waiting there at 18:00 as informed...who was coming and when.
When the guide arrived he charged on ahead, did not acknowledge us with the rest of the tour group who were already on the mini bus leaving us to follow with our tiny children and a elderly lady with limited mobility. I had to have firm words with the guide when we eventually caught up with the group, as he was over half way through the history of the first temple. The guide was apologetic and moving forward did his best to accommodate and help us but clearly needed another guide to help him.
This trip is not fully accessible as advertised and parts of the tour cannot be accessed by anyone with mobility issues.

Booked the tour last minute, Immediately response to give us a collection time from our hotel. Turned up bang on time and Faan was excellent from the very start and throughout. Really informative, friendly and funny. This was a great way to spend 3 - 4 hours for a bargain price. Don’t hesitate to book.

The whole tour is a rush. It takes over an hour to get all the people picked up and then you arrived to the first temple by 6-6.30 pm. The tour guide was rushing all over as the next temple was over 30 min driving and closes by 7.30pm.
Better to see the temples by yourself and enjoy the time instead of rushing it! You are on holiday!

Short version.
Company was fine but I wish we just went on our own.
Long version.
3 stars isn't due to any faults/bad action of the company...i just don't think a tour is needed here. They were on time, drove well, etc. Only complaint here was the lack of AC for most of the ride home. It was SOO hot in the van it made me sick.
Between pickup, dropoff, waiting for people to take photos, people being late etc, we could have saved an hour (or more) on this trip. Considering it was only 3.5 hours, that's substantial. I wish we just got a grab and went on our own.
We spent 10 minutes at the first temple and 10 minutes in the tunnel. We had a 5 minute explanation of the temple/tunnel. Total 25 min. We could have googled the info and seen the temple in 15 (though we are quick to see stuff).
Second temple we had 50 minutes to explore. We only needed 30 ( disclaimer, we've seen a lot of temples this week).I could see some wanting 1-1.5 hours depending on interest levels. No real explanation of anything here. 30baht per person for entry.
If you want to not think at all, (and spend time waiting and pay a lot extra) maybe a tour is for you.
Personally, wife and I think this was the only tour we regret booking of the 7 we've done in the last 12 days.
