About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Sandra13360 contributionsSpectacular Ancient CityWhat an amazing place to visit while in Bangkok. Take your time looking at everything. Souvenirs stores and a couple of restaurants there. They have a few vendors selling ice pops along the park which is convenient since it gets so hot.Written 19 January 2025
- Sightseer578453246480 contributionsExperience Bangkok carfree in 8hrs!This is a must! Our driver Sam greeted us at the airport, tok us to meet our private guide Cindy at city center Bangkok. My girls and I had our own private car, which is super convenient. Cindy is very kind and she'll realty take care' of you and listen to whatever you want to do.. We definitely highly recommend! 🥰Written 15 January 2025
- kunjal0320 contributionsVery comfortable and informative tripWe had amazing fun time diving in to the ancient history of Lord Buddha. highly recommended. We had so much fun!!!! Tour guide was greatWritten 3 January 2025
- 30gild0 contributionsTry a different operatormassively overpriced tour. Unfortunately, our guide, while knowledgeable, was extremely inexperienced. It was very, very hot, over 90 degrees. Our guide had to keep asking for directions, and could not figure out how to use the bike lock that came with the rather lousy bikes that were provided for us. The bike part of the tour was very short, and the tour should not be called a bike tour. Ayutthaya itself is fascinating, but we could easily have managed the visit on our own. In regards to the tour operator - late on the day before the tour, the tour operator asked us to change the day of the tour, and when we let them know that wasn't possible, they asked us to change the time, which also wasn't possible. They then agreed to the original booking, but it was clear that they had an issue providing an experienced guide, though they seemed to be blaming the issue on the bikes. The tour operator was also very uncommunicative - they would send a text via whatsApp, I would reply, and then there would be a significant delay (nearly an hour) before their next communication.Written 28 December 2024
- R4089HEpauls0 contributionsGolden Triangle and Doi Tung. This tour was expensive but very rewarding. It takes you to the Royal Villa and beautiful gardens at Doi Tung, downtown Mae Sai including the border crossing, the ruins of an ancient temple at Chiang Saen, and the Golden Triangle. Very comfortable vehicle, leisurely pace, and driver with good English and reasonable knowledge of geography.Written 28 December 2024
- NataliyaD4900 contributionsGreat tourIt is a nice tour with a reasonable pace - not too hard. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable, she gladly answered questions. I recommend this tour for PattayaWritten 27 December 2024
- S4601LJjennys0 contributionsHighly recommend!I had a wonderful time on this trip! We were on the 1:30pm sunset group tour. The pickup was very timely at the specified hotel. We went to 2 temples in Ayutthaya and they were both very unique! Jom (Jonny) was a fantastic tour guide and gave us a lot of fun facts and information about each temple. Then we went on the sunset boat tour-the boat was so cute and it was so fun to sail along the river! During the ride they gave us bread pieces so we could feed fish and there was also a traditional Thai dance performance on the boat. Jonny offered to take pictures of everyone and be our personal photographer. Then we went to dinner in a serene area by the water. We are vegetarian and they were very accommodating to our dietary preferences. Highly recommend!Written 26 December 2024
- ray252520150 contributionsAppalling Service from Hertz Car rentalMy experience with Hertz at Walvis Bay Airport on December 13, 2024, was appalling. I had prepaid for a car through Booking.com, but on arrival, Hertz refused to issue the vehicle because the signature on my driver’s license (from 1991) differed from the one on my passport (issued in 2020). Despite presenting two additional forms of identification and offering to have the car issued under my wife’s name, Hertz stubbornly refused to assist me. Their inflexibility left me stranded, forcing me to rent a car from Europcar instead—using unbudgeted funds. Thankfully, Europcar was 33% cheaper and provided excellent service. Hertz’s rigid policies and lack of customer support are unacceptable. Avoid them if you value reliability and good service. I certainly won’t be using Hertz again.Written 26 December 2024
- Marlene F0 contributionsRather visit out if season. The landmarks were great to see. However, everything was a bit rushed. The lunch was absolutely terrible. Bring your own snacks. At the Sanctury of Truth, the group sizes were too big, and it was so noisy that you couldn't hear what the guide was saying, also too rushed.Written 23 December 2024
- stephen17570 contributionsLandmark Tour of PattayaThe Landmark tour of Pattaya provides a total package of important information about the city and its history and culture in a day with a tour guide.Written 20 December 2024
- Lanidracl0 contributionsExcellentThe trip was amazing. Our guide, Yute (?) was full of interesting information about Thai history and current events. Our diver, Kenk (?) was cheerful throughout what was a long day for all of us and a patient, safe driver. We could not ask for better. We left Bangkok at noon, so we got to see the sun setting on the Ayutthaya historical park. Great experience and great for photos. The bikes were medium to small but ok. The ride was all flat, mostly in quiet areas, only one part with traffic. Communicating with the organizers, through TripAdvisor or Sun Leisure World was a royal pain. I am still waiting for a response on the spelling of names. I would recommend booking this tour or one like it through different companies.Written 17 December 2024
- Corina G0 contributionsGreat Tour with DaisyDaisy was very knowledgeable, hospitalable and patient; she provided valuable information on the tour and other great things to do.Written 15 December 2024
- 48sallah0 contributionsScammy - stay awayI booked a private temples tour + grand palace with a stop for lunch. I booked with them again because I thought it’d be good. I even requested the same guide as last time and was given a rude response. This time we had an elder woman who had some very uncomfortable and xenophobic views. At the end of the tour we were taken to a jewellery store and pressured to spend money. Such a scam honestly. And a betrayal of our trust as tourists under their care.Written 10 December 2024
- Theroaminghaggis1230 contributionsRelaxing way to see the highlights!Relaxing way to see the Highlights, beautiful temples at a leisurely pace, sail along the river on a heritage ship taking a moment to feed the fish and watch a life Thai dance before being taken to dinner. No hassle, good driver, good van with an aircon, small group size! Definitely recommend :)Written 10 December 2024
- Fearless556258819690 contributionsAmazing Experience on the Tour!I really enjoyed the tour! It was great to see all of the sights my favourites were the Buddha Mountain and the Sanctuary of Truth was amazing to hear to stories and meanings from the guides there as well. Our tour guide Noh was really friendly, bubbly and had a great attitude! He was super helpful and kept to moral up for the group during the day! Overall would highly recommend this tour for sightseeing Pattaya!Written 30 November 2024

To no fault of the tour operator, this trip involved a lot of riding in the van. Also, if you want to be guaranteed a seat on the train, you need to pay 300 baht for first class, otherwise, you may need to stand for the 1.5 hour train ride. That said, the sites we saw were interesting, but we were generally rushed because we had to be on the train at an exact time. We were not told what time that was, so we spent a lot of the morning wondering what our schedule was. The cemetery and museum were fine. The museum was very small and the curators didn't clean or update the displays. Photos, copies of documents, and signs were faded, the movie had an ear piercing soundtrack, and the display case items were coated in a thick layer of dust. Again, no fault of the tour operator. The train ride was nice, but the truly scenic part we all see in these photos lasted for about 10 minutes of the ride. Lunch was fine, walking the bridge was fine, the Buddha in the cave was fine. The tour was fine. If you really want to get out to River Kwai, this is a fine option. Any other tour operator coming from Bangkok is going to have most of the same challenges our tour faced, so most of the downsides to the tour were out of the operators control.

We joined the 9 customer group, our tour guide, Nina and our driver at the Hilton Garden Inn on Silom Road at 615am. We departed at 630am. Nina greeted us with a banana and bottle of water. We drove west for a couple hours in good traffic and mostly on highways.
We had a tour of the JEATH War Memorial after a toilet break. The museum with old photos gave us a good feel for the terrible conditions for the POWs working on the bridge. A short video added more detail. A good A-4 paper brochure provided more details.
We visited the multi-national cemetery that honoured those killed working on the railway. The cemetery is well maintained by Thai workers and is impressive to witness.
We arrived at the bridge over the River Kwai, took pictures and had time to do some shopping.
We boarded the train, found our reserved seats and started moving across the bridge. These seats did not cost more as previous posts indicated. Nina provided fruit to eat and small cakes were provided for a snack along with another bottle of water. We rode the train for an hour and enjoyed the journey. The train was open-air but not too hot. We stopped at several spots to take pictures. We arrived at our destination and got off the train.
A superb buffet lunch was provided. The food was diverse including chicken, meat, fish, salad and dessert.
We drove home for about 2.5 hours and arrived back at the Hilton at 5pm.
The trip was long but exceptional. Nina was a very helpful guide! The driver was quite skilled and made good time. For those with interest in the WWII history of the bridge and rail line, I'd very highly recommend the tour!

Amazing trip to the war cemetery, bridge and train ride to the caves and great buffet lunch. Highly recommend requesting RACH as your tour guide, he was extremely helpful to not just me but other people. Pick up on time and dropped back to the hotel after the driver expertly navigated Bangkoks chaotic traffic 😂

My trip was very unpleasant, my reasons follow. After your initial payment there is an “upgrade” charge at the first stop for a seat on the train, I somehow missed this upgrade and was separated from my group and sat in the baggage car (alone) causing me to miss the stop where my group exited the train. I wound up at a different stop and had to wait for a ride back to my group. The tour guide ( OOM ) was just as bored as the tour group and used videos instead of explaining the historical significance of our initial itinerary. Each stop is approximately 20 minutes, except lunch, which was decent, anyway, you are constantly rushed due to the two hour drive ( each way ) and the one and a half hour train ride. The vans are old and in disrepair and not very comfortable. I would not recommend this tour company as there are better choices out there.

This tour was over promised and under delivered. The tour is rushed as it seeks to beat peak hour traffic in Bangkok. The stated times at each site simply aren’t true. For instance, we spent 15 minutes at the JEATH museum, not the stated 60 minutes. The sites that you visit are extremely historic, however the guide failed to pass on any of this significance. Our guide was more concerned with taking photos, which you get bombarded with at the end of the day.
Further, we were encouraged to spend another 600baht each to upgrade our train ticket and pay for a boat ride. Why these items aren’t included in the ticket price is odd and felt like a local scam.
More broadly, the van we travelled in was old and the promised “incredible” buffet lunch was nothing special.
For the price, give this tour a miss.

Highly recommend this tour. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide who ran us through the itinerary at the start of the trip and provided background before arrival at the first point of interest. He also took pictures of the group through the tour on his phone which are sent to you at the end, complimentary. Good for solo travellers.
The war cemetery was peaceful and you could walk through the rows to see the different allied forces that rested there (aussies near the front entrance to the left).
The museum, though small, was a good reminder of what war actually looked like.
The railway, particularly near the river is a stunning but somber reminder of what people died to create and that this was all done by hand. Some of the track is being replaced due to its age but the line is thesame.
Other notes, I did quite enjoy the extras that I paid for; the short boat ride under the bridge thay was bombed by the US Air Forcr and the upgrade to reserve seating in the train which guaranteed a seat, snack, water for the 1hr train ride (economy looked full that day and it was too hot to potenially stand for that long) which was THB 300 for each extra (THB 600 total for extras).
The buffet lunch was a solid selection of Thai food and desserts with instant coffee or tea included. Ate till full and awesome view of the river :). Option to buy cold drinks too if desired.

A fabulous trip. Good communication between the organisers and us. Vit our tour guide was such a lovely man, he really looked after us, he took us to a couple of extra places to give some fresh vegetables to the wild monkeys and get some fresh coconuts. The trip involved a 2 hour drive with toilet stop, and straight to the veterans cemetery which was very well kept, and next to the JEATH museum which definitely was in need of some TLC. I visited here 25yrs earlier and remember it being the same, lots of faded pics. Still enjoyed it, and found it information interesting.
Next a trip on the boat up the River Quai to the bridge. We were able to walk across the bridge and we paid an extra 300bhart to have a guaranteed seat which was a blessing as a trillion school kids got on but luckily not in our carriage.
We had some lovely people on the tour which also made it for us.
When we got back from our trip, we felt like we had a lovely day.

This trip was great in that it covered much and was very informative. The visit to the cemetery was very moving as well as walking across the bridge.
We took the boat ride up the river to the bridge because others in the party did and we would have had to wait. As it turned out we enjoyed seeing the bridge and railway from the river and got some excellent photos there.
Lunch was good and we liked Oom's video clips which gave us an overview of that period in history prior to our arrival.
My one complaint was that I would have preferred to walk through the small Jeath museum on my own to read captions and reflect on illustrations without the tour guide telling us what HE thought was important.
It was a little hurried overall because of having to stay on schedule to get on the once daily train. Perhaps the cemetery or museum could have been at the end of the day. (We certainly did not need TWO chances to visit souvenir shops)

Truly a memorable experience. The history behind the bridge and the suffering of those tasked with its building was almost overwhelming during the visit to the gravesites and the museum. So very sad what we humans can do to each other for no reasons other than greed in its many ugly forms.
The boat ride and the train ride were very enjoyable, and the scenery was beautiful.
Our guide was friendly, organized and knowledgeable, and our small group were all friendly, and all had a very good time.
We highly recommend the trip and a first-hand look at a sad time in our world's history.

Whilst we booked through Get Your Guide, we had a company called Sunrise Tours, (guide Om), not such a great company, or at least the tour guide whilst fulfilling his role was not engaged with the group, or in answering questions. The actual train ride was good, as was the museum and history of the area.
There is a 2 day trip to this area, we were going to book, however glad that we did not. Ensure you book a seat on the train, (payment in Thai Bhat).
