Bangkok: Amazing Bangkok City and Temple Tour

By I Asia Thailand (Bangkok)
Wat Trimitr houses a 3.5 meter-high and 5.5 tonne heavy pure Gold Buddha. The statue came from Ayutthaya in 1767 and escaped the marauding Burmese, because it was hidden under a plaster jacket. It was shipped to Bangkok and as he was to be hoisted in 1956 to its final position, it fell from the crane cable and the real material, pure gold, came to be visible. Continue to Pak Klong Talad, the biggest wholesale and retail fresh flower market in Bangkok. Most flowers found here are destined to be woven into “Phuang Malai” , garlands used as offerings. Some will be offered to images of Buddha inside temples or on the shrines of private homes. Others will find their way to ancestor spirit shrines, spirit trees, or one of the countless dedications to Hindu gods like Brahma and Indra. From the nearby pier, we take the public ferry and cross the mighty Chao Phraya River to Bangkok’s best-known landmark, the enchanting Wat Arun(Temple of Dawn).

A Relaxing & Picturesque Cruise in the City of Bangkok
The White Orchid Cruise provided us with a delightful dining experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with my family and we all had a great time. The cruise was definitely worth the cost as the food was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly. Additionally, we were able to enjoy the stunning scenery of Bangkok while on board. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend.

        Opulent Opulence
What an amazing dinner cruise. No problem finding the location and from start to finish a professional experience. The food was excellent, the staff attentive and the entertainment was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner cruise and would highly recommend paying a little extra for this wonderful experience. Plenty of food, no need to rush with everyone else, take your time and take in the incredible views as you wine and dine. Bangkok is extraordinary and beautiful at night from the river. The grand palace, temples and the bridges. We could not have wished for a more spectacular ending to our city break in Bangkok.

        Beautiful boat and good services!
We (4) took the dinner cruise by the Opulence at IconSiam on Monday. The cruise was beautiful and had plenty of food. We brought the tickets via LINE app. The waiter was helpful.

Not recommend for family with elderlies and small children
Regret for paying above the standard price (this cruise cost more then the rest, a higher end) but worse service. Not recommend for family with elderlies. As seen in other reviews, we were made to wait, standing in the crowds (packed like sardines aka mackerel). Yes, we are awared that the ship only leaves at 8pm and between 6 to 7.30pm, it is checking-in time. However, if you choose to check-in closer to 8pm (reduce waiting time), you will face with another problem : the HUGE crowds. there is no way you can get to the check-in madeshift counter/table at pier 2. In short, it was really hard to find where is the check-in table with such packed crowds (hundreds standing infront of the checked-in table). we had to squeeze our body into the packed crowds to find the check-in table. nightmare! Why? - this cruise is the LAST to leave pier 2. there were many OTHER passengers (at least hundreds) waiting to board the EARLIER ships (not this one). To make problem worse, i asked for chairs for my parents who are elderlies (over 80's) with knee problem (cannt walk or stand long). The opulence girl (at check-in table) simply replied "dont have" and immediately looked away to persons behind me, simply ignoring me right away!!! the dinner cruise was to celebrate father's day (16/6) and it was made worse by the check-in girl to ignore request for chairs for my father! at pier 2, there was no seat for waiting passengers! (as mentioned in other reviews). To avoid causing extreme tiredness and pains to my parents, i walked to pier 1 (at the end) and found (FIXED) seats there but too far for my parents to walk from pier 2 to 1 and back again. So, i did search and hunt for chairs AGAIN! (unbelievable!). later, i found 2 chairs a few TINY steps away from opulence check-in table! (it is a check-in counter/table for earlier ship which left the pier, so finally, empty chairs and table). Wow, opulence girl who simply ignored my request for chairs, knew about the empty chairs at next table did NOT even offer empty chairs next to her table!!!! Fine, you (young girls) dont want to offer your chairs for elderly passengers who cannt stand too long, but at least look elsewhere for chairs for YOUR OWN PASSENGERS IN DESPERATE NEED! waiting at least 30 mins standing up for elderlies over 80's with knee pain is very difficult for them (in case you have lack of empthy or understanding). No seat facilility at pier 2 is bad enough but do offer some assistance to the seniors while waiting for boarding!! Yes, the buffet is another nighmare! there was no proper queue rules, so everyone just grab food from two direction at buffet! another nightmare! this cruise is not recommended for family with elderlies. Choose a standard price cruise (only difference is this is a newer ship) and earliest cruise (to avoid the crowds of earlier ships) for your family just for one time experience. Not worth paying higher price to wait at pier, standing up for long time, packed in crowds, no empathy service to special request made and cold dishes (none of the food was served warm except for the very warm weather outdoor (practically sweating away non-stop).

        Chaotic free-for-all
Our recent experience on The Opulence river boat cruise in Bangkok was unfortunately disappointing. Despite the advertised to arrive between 18:30-20:00, the vessel didn't arrive until 20:00, leaving us waiting for 1.5 hours on the pier with no seating. This poor organization was just the beginning. Once on board, the buffet was a chaotic free-for-all. The lack of order and people pushing in line significantly marred the experience. We spent most of the cruise queuing for food rather than enjoying the river sights, which was very frustrating. We finally managed to sit at our table just as the vessel turned around and headed back to the pier. Overall, the disorganization and chaotic buffet situation ruined what could have been a pleasant evening on the river. Such a shame as this has so much potential to be a great trip down the river with just some better organisation.

Definitely worth the price. the environment & live performance are amazing!
I had a great time there with my fiance, you can order alcohol for extra if you would like, that's what we did. Soft drinks were all included. The show started around 7pm and ended a little after 8. There is a wide range of food for the buffet, seafood, pasta, Thai noodles, Indian... had a feast there! Great Value as well and cheaper than walking in.

        Good Dinner Cruise
Good dinner cruise, friendly staff, clean tidy boat, great music. It's a long wait to board the boat, and very busy area. The only improvement I could suggest is pointing out the sights passed, we didn't know what we were passing or its significance.

River Kwai and Burmese railroad was an amazing and emotional day excursion from Bangkok. Great guide. Good info.
The trip was great. Very emotional going thru cemetery, museum and train trip. One thing don’t forget to take baht 300 for train trip if you want to ride the track. Great day.

        Fun night
What fun! This is a hard working cast dedicated to your pure enjoyment. It was a trip around the world with fabulous costumes and interpretations of native dance from many cultures - Thai, Indian, Japanese, latin, pop and movies. The venue is intimate. The service was impeccable. The cast is available after the show for fotos. Enjoy yourself!

        Wouldn’t do it again
Beautiful ship, she arrived in spectacular style, we were really excited…even though we thought it left at 7pm but actually doesn’t leave until 8pm, nowhere to sit so you just have to stand and wait,,,,on a normal night I’m sure it would be fab but the night we went the tide was too high to get under the bridge to see the sights we’d booked to see, the tide is not their fault admittedly but I’m sure a captain being in charge of a cruiser must be aware of the tides well in advance and the outcome and disappointment to guests, we live on an estuary and even we know when to expect a higher than average tide so really annoyed they took the booking,,,instead of seeing the Royal Palace and Wat Arun at night which we we booked it for we had a very boring cruise of the docks ….annoyingly we could have seen the sights on a ferry ticket we’d bought earlier in the day, but it was my birthday so paid over £100 for this to be a special night. Also the buffet was like a bun fight, instead of arranging for guests to walk in one direction people were all over the place, I felt uncomfortable having to fight for food at a buffet I ended up with some noodles then gave up, the experience was awful, …..they need to arrange for guests to walk in one direction that at least would make it easier. I was expecting Thai entertainment but it was a singer, she was very good just not what I was expecting. My husband was so disappointed he’d booked it as a lovely birthday surprise and quite honestly it was a very expensive mistake.

        Fun Cabaret
It took us an hour to travel by taxi to the theatre and 15 minutes to get back. As such we arrived just as the show was starting. There was someone to meet us and take us to our seats. A choice of free fizz or orange juice was a nice touch. The theatre was spacious and we had good seats. The show was as expected, music, cinema and wonderful costumes. Dancing and choreography was good. It was sassy. I went with my 21 year old daughter, she loved it. The performers line up at the end for photos and tips.

Great day out for the family
My husband, two children (14,12) and I went on this fantastic day out! We were on the smaller catamaran (Sun Wind) which was perfect. Excellent staff, great service, food and hospitality. Our highlight was the seacave kayaking. James Bond Island was manic but to be expected. Recommend!

        Average dinner and a show
We were recommended this show by a friend and had a good time. It’s not in the same building that is shown in the pictures, it’s currently on a small circular stage in the center of the restaurant. The doors open at 7 and they start serving drinks (1 nonalcoholic drink included) soon after. Appetizers are a small dish of fried food (sweet potato, beans, shrimp) with duck sauce. Entrees are rice with a curry, broth soup, fish, and glass noodles. Dessert is fruit. The food is good. They offer a small glass of fig juice after. The show itself has lovely dancers with live music and lasts 45 minutes. It is a very simple show with no backdrops, just nice consumes. They do get the audience involved. We enjoyed our dinner here but for 800 baht it was steep.
