Highlights
    What to Expect
Begin with an introduction to the key ingredients used in Thai cooking, followed by a tour of the market. Fortunately, this class takes place in the market, so you won't have far too go.

After the market experience, you will prepare four dishes. Typically these are:
    - Miang Khum - a traditional appetizer
    - Som Tum Masterclass - 3 different versions
    - Pad Thai with a Twist
    - Red or Green Curry

You will learn about the diversity of ingredients and how different dishes can be adapted using different ingredients, giving you the chance to experiment and even create your own variation.

Menus are subject to change for variety, and some of the ingredients will depend on seasonality. You will also be served Thai herbal drinks and dessert.

This class is taught by an experienced Thai chef, and class size is limited to eight people. It's suitable for vegetarians, as all items have vegetarian substitutions. If you do have specific dietary requirements, please advise in advance.

    Stop At:

    • The Market Experience, 2nd Floor, Yodpiman Flower Market, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

    Sample Menu

We had a wonderful afternoon with Alyssa! The premises were clean, cool, modern and inviting- a surprise on top of the traditional-looking flowermarket. I enjoyed the tour of the marked with Alyssa as a friendly and informative guide as much as I did the cooking itself. The

Hi Vera, Thanks so much for your review. It was fun afternoon with you and your husband and your teenage boy and girl. You and your family reminded me when I had one cooking class in Norway. It was a great day as well. Our Private Cooking Class provides 15 menus of Thai cooking with my Thai recipes. All 4 menus that you selected to cook with your family were 4 of the tops choices and all can be made with ay twist or choices of Thai ingredients which are mostly available in OSLO where I cooked as Executive chef of Thai cuisine. If you do cook at home, we would love to see photos so we can continue sharing your Thai cooking experience – send us them or tag us if you post them on social media ;) Once again, thanks for joining us. Regards Simon, Alyssa, Tum and The Market Experience Team

Travelling with my sister, we always try and find a cooking class to try some new foods, get a deeper sense of the flavours of the place and hopefully learn some culinary tips to bring home with us. This class was all of those things and more. A completely seamless experience.

Thank you for your review of our cooking class. Thai Cooking with A Twist is quite different from other Thai cooking classes as we, the team of The Market Experience, have not only taught the basics of Thai cooking but also, the culture of the food through a walk in the market. We help the traveler to discover Thai culture with the cooking class and a visit to one of the oldest market in Bangkok, Pak Klong Talad, AKA YodPiman Flower market, where it might be best known as the 24-hour flower market that supplies much of the floral trade across Bangkok and elsewhere in Thailand, but Pak Khlong Talat market – located alongside Memorial Bridge on the Chaophraya river – also has a substantial fruit and vegetable selection that comes close to rivaling Bangkok’s biggest fresh market names like Khlong Toey. And despite recent efforts to close down ‘illegally’ operating stalls on the pavements around the main body of Pak Khlong Talat, those traders inside the market continue to operate. If you do cook at home, we would love to see photos so we can continue sharing your Thai cooking experience – send us them or tag us if you post them on social media ;) Once again, thanks for joining us. Regards Simon, Alyssa, Tum and The Market Experience Team
