In and around Bangkok is the PERFECT tour to start your visit to this city! Navigating the winding streets of Bangkok can be challenging so my wife and I were SOO happy to be able to relax, not have to constantly be navigating from our phones, and instead just enjoy the endless incredible views of endless markets and vendors, interesting narrow alley-ways, beautiful temples, gorgeous city skylines, and breathtaking views of Buddhist temples.

Our guide’s name was Ken and he was soo incredibly kind and attentive to my wife and I as we explored the city during our first ever day in Thailand. He worked hard to help us visit the highlight or must-see attractions in the city and he happily offered to take photos of us at each attraction.

The price of this tour was a GREAT value! It was only $50 or so dollars per person and it was a private tour for my wife and me all day for 8 hours!! A private, custom tour like this in Italy or the Us would be easily $200-300 per person.

It was customized to whatever we wanted to see in whatever order we wanted. Ken also offered helpful suggestions to take the pressure of planning off of us.

Taking a tour like this really helps you to get a better glimpse into what it is like to be a Thai local and it’s hugely helpful to have a guide (like ken) to help you translate because the amount of English that Thai folks that we encountered in Bangkok who speak English was surprisingly few.

One day in Bangkok!

We highly recommend getting a tour guide- especially if you have a limited amount of time in Bangkok. Explorenique was easy to deal with, responsive, and reasonably priced. Our guide Kim was awesome! We were able to efficiently get to all the places we wanted to see in the one day we had to explore the city. Kim helped us find routes across complicated waterways and winding streets, arrange street and water transportation, get quickly through lines, and take care of entrance fees and protocols. He knew about the history of the city, temples, and he helped us pick food in the floating market. Great tour with amazing tour guide Uma!!

The was a wonderful trip.

Before the trip I emailed with the trip coordinator almost daily to plan the customized the trip, adding massage appointments and extend the tour length, etc. The trip coordinator Joy was always very quick with her email response and clear in her communications.

Our tour guide Uma was excellent. Her English was superb. She knows so much about the city, the temples and the palace, and provided us with lots of History and background. The visit would not be so interesting without her introductions.

Uma also took many wonderful pictures of us! She went above and beyond to help us have a great time in this tour.

We also added the night market at the end of the tour. But Jodd Fair market was way too crowded to really enjoy. I would go to a less crowded night market if I were to do this again.

We did everything we would like to do in this tour. Thank you so much Joy and Uma for making it possible to fit everything in one day.

A must do for a 1st visit to Bangkok! Thank you Kim!

An amazing & exciting day with our fantastic guide Kim who arrived an hour early at our hotel! You get to choose what you want to experience & we had emailed our request the day before. We had originally asked to start at 10.30 and Kim advised an early start at 7 which paid off as we were first into the Royal Palace & saved hours waiting in line! Next was the reclining Buddha which was just wow! Kim arranged all the transport we needed and when I didn’t fancy the long tail boat (can’t swim!) he immediately arranged a taxi to take us to the floating market which was just fab!
Kim gave us beautiful orchid garlands at the start of our day and flowers as offering to the Buddha at each site we visited. He has a lot of knowledge to share with you and he took great care of us providing water for us from his little magic bag & took care of our shoes when we had to remove them for the temples. He also arranged a variety of Thai food for us try at lunch time at the floating market. You do have to pay for the admission fees, transport costs & lunch for yourself & your guide and you’re told the day before how much it will cost, so no hidden extras! Fantastic value for money and an excellent day - we would highly recommend it! Thank you Kim for making our visit to Bangkok so special.

Kop Kuhn Krap for a fantastic day out Gang and Mr Kim.
Our instructions to the team were to avoid all of the big attractions of Bangkok as they are well documented and easy to reach independently, take us to the hidden Bangkok and teach us how to be polite, to get the best food and see the sights. After that they did all the route planning. From breakfast in a family restaurant, to a taxi to hidden chinatown, to a Tuk-tuk to the Portuguese district, a hidden Muslim temple, another taxi to a market, another tuk-tuk to another hidden temple, to beautiful coffee houses and river crossings. It was all a sheer delight. Gang, is great, funny, even silly and very informative.
He couldn’t have hit the brief with any more style. I am sure he will do the same for you as well. Thank you.

8 wonderful hours in Bangkok

This was our first visit to Bangkok, and with only 2 days in the City we wanted to spend our time efficiently and see as much as possible. With that in mind this was the perfect trip. Our guide, Ken, phoned shortly after we booked online and asked if there were any sights that we particularly wanted to see. When he picked us up from our hotel the next day (11am) he had an itinerary sketched out. We walked to the nearest boat terminal and off we went. We focussed on the major temples and the Royal Palace (which are all extraordinary). We asked to go on a boat trip down the river and canals, which Ken sorted after the Palace visit. We had a fantastic lunch (very cheap and great Thai food). We skipped the flower market and backpackers area because we had been there the night before, so Ken wrapped it all up with a rooftop bar at sunset overlooking the river. Ken gave us a full 8 hours of his time, perhaps the most enjoyable of which was getting to know him over a beer in the evening, and understanding a bit more about his story, meditation, Thai life and more.
It’s worth noting that the costs of entry to the various temples/palaces, boat rides, Tuk-Tuks etc are additional. (This is also clear when you book online). But Tuk-Tuks are cheap (and fun) and the entry prices are generally pretty good. I highly recommend this trip. For the more adventurous (or if you have more time) it could be fun to do it all without a guide - but I suspect that we would have missed a lot of the sights that only the locals know, and Ken took dozens of photos of us at all the locations (knowing where the best shots should be taken) and he has already sent them across via WhatsApp.

Great to explore the old Bangkok by boat

We had a great afternoon with Geng. On the Klong Tour with him he showed us his neighborhood by boat and answered all our questions about the old and unknown part of this wonderful city. Very interesting to see the old and modern so close together. Geng was very informative and helpful with his tipps for eating in Bangkok too.The relaxing atmosphere at the rooftop was a great ending for this nice trip.
Next time we do a food tour with him - and his mom. 😉😅

A TRUE CULTURAL IMMERSION!

My fiancee and I had a real cultural immersion in Bangkok with the help of the Explorenique agency. It was without a doubt one of the best experiences we had in Thailand.
The owner of the agency, Mr Gen and his guide Mr Tee guided us through places that we would never be able to explore if we were alone and that made all the difference, as we also visited many places that are not touristy, neighborhoods, temples, palaces, alleys and canals, all on foot or by bus, tuk-tuk, taxis, boats, always truly experiencing the local culture through the eyes of locals. We felt part of the community, interacting with locals and getting a real taste of the country. Thanks to their knowledge, all our doubts were answered and we had a real lesson on Thai culture, in an easy and interesting way.
Mr Gen and Mr Tee, thank you so much for the amazing experience and friendship and we hope to see you again soon on the streets of Bangkok.

Takes the stress out of travel

Traveling can be exhausting, but with a private guide it’s just fun! Ken took out the stress of transportation and planning the day. He knew the best places to take us and helped us see sooo much in two days. There aren’t many English speakers in Thailand so having Ken as a translator was a huge help in ordering at a restaurant, finding food and drink we wanted to try, and talking to taxi drivers. Ken was so joyful and knowledgeable and provided great company for us. Awesome to have a photographer with us too to capture many memories. I wish I could have Ken on every trip I take!

Great way to see Bangkok in a short time!

Bella was a great tour guide and it was definitely worth having a local private guide to show me the sights. She gave so much more background and history about the temples and other major sights around the city that I would have never gotten if I did this own my own. Plus, I didn't have to worry about navigating to each place and where to go next.

I told her what I wanted to see and she put together our rough itinerary. I can't imagine being in a big group tour and going to the temples because it was really crowded. We were able to make our way around easily and I could always hear what she had to say. Plus she knew all of the great picture spots.

I was in Bangkok 3 nights and I have to recommend resting a day before getting in and doing the full-day tour. I got in the night before and was really fading by the end of it. Have a free day the day after your tour so that you visit other sites you might have missed. She gave great recommendations for other things to see but I had another tour booked outside the city for the next day.
