About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- GrandTour1016350 contributionsAmazing team! Highly recommend! We have been to the Himalayas twice. Once with just a guide on recommendation and the second time with a guide and porters from Nepal Trekking Experts. We chose the Langtang trek and the Gosaikunda trek. As with the last trek, we expected basic service and help with accommodation. But we were surprised and at the same time thrilled with our support team. Our guide Dinesh took us not only through the trek, but also through the history and attractions of the places we visited. We learned a lot about the people who live there. Moreover, for a price that did not seem high to us, we always got one of the best accommodation in each place, and excellent food three times a day.Written 5 January 2025
- Eitan D0 contributionsThank you Raj!Many thanks to Raj for helping to make my trip to Nepal so memorable. On very short notice, he organized a 2-day tour of the UNESCO heritage sights in the Kathmandu Valley and a 3-day trek through Poon and Gurung villages, including a hike to Poon Hill to see the sunrise. He even lent me a warm jacket for the trek! My guides, Ari and Krittam, were fantastic. Both are so knowledgeable and down to earth. You can tell they are very proud of their country and take great pleasure in sharing it with foreigners. I am immensely thankful to them for that. I highly recommend Raj for any and all of your Nepal travel plans!Written 4 January 2025
- Z4503WAga0 contributionsAmadablum Base CampI did a trip to Amadablum Base Camp with Ram and the team in October and November 2024. A wonderful trip; we were looked after beautifully. Ram and the team were excellent guides and very thoughtful and patient with us when we were trekking slowly. We had one rainy day slipping about in lots of mud and they made sure we were safe and picked me up when I fell over!! The trip itself was planned in great detail, briefing and maps were provided before we set out. Even in remote areas Ram seemed to be able to "find lunch" for us each day and there were no issues with accommodation. The trip was very good value for money with no hidden costs. Ram's command of English was excellent and he was happy to chat to us about culture and life in Nepal which was fascinating. Thank you so much for the trip of a lifetime guys I hope to book again one day xxWritten 31 December 2024
- 959leonj0 contributionsAnother amazing trekThis is my second time trekking with Nepal Trekking Experts. Rajesh and his brother are guaranteed to go out of their way to ensure you have the best possible experience. On this trip, I did the Khopra Danda Trek (a shorter trek than my previous visits, but still full of variety). As before though, the guide was very accommodating to me adjusting the pace and breaking his plan (which is only there really as a basic framework). If you are looking for a fair price, excellent service, flexibility, and an overall incredible experience, then you don't need to look further. No doubt I will be back again...Written 22 December 2024
- bolettei20240 contributionsAnnapurna CircuitMy friend and I hiked the Annapurna Circuit arranged by Nepal Trekking Experts. The months leading up to the hike was Rajesh a big help in answering questions, with an incredible fast response rate! We had a warm welcome when we arrived with a nice hotel, welcome dinner and help with buying/renting whatever we were missing for the hike. We had the pleasure of the company of our guide Kritam. Kritam was an incredible company to our hike. We learned a lot about the mountains and Nepalese culture while just having so much fun with lots of laughs! Kritam took care of our every need and made sure we got the best rooms and reserved a spot next to the fireplace in the evening. Very quickly did it feel like walking with a friend and not someone you just met. We truly made memories for life!Written 22 December 2024

- tomvA6118OZ0 contributionsAmazing Three Passes TrekI did the Three Passes Trek together with a group of friends in November and I’ve had an amazing experience. The itinerary is very well put together with plenty of time to explore and relax. Our guide Basanta was very knowledgable and knew how to motivate us which made the trek comfortable and exciting even during the challenging parts. The Three Passes Trek really has everything. It’s challenging and demanding and just keeps on giving. The views are amazing and change with every corner you turn. It was incredible to see and experience the Khumbu region this way. Thank you Nepal Trekking Experts for this once in a lifetime experience!Written 19 December 2024
- St_Albans_City0 contributionsAbsolutely top class trekking companyI did Everest Base Camp with Nepal Trekking Experts two years ago and when I decided to do another Himalayan trek I had no hesitation in approaching them again. From beginning to end they were once again absolutely first class. I had originally intended to do Annapurna Base Camp, but when I realised my knees wouldn't cope with the large amounts of steep downhill every day the ever-helpful Rajesh suggested the Khopra Danda trek instead, and it proved a very good choice. As before they were very flexible - booking me on flights to Pokhara rather than the many hours of bumpy road, and then changing the itinerary part way through when I decided the side trip from Khopra to Kayer Lake was going to be a bigger challenge than I wanted. As requested they booked me in solo rooms in each tea house along the way, and even managed to get me my own bathroom on two nights My guide, Amit, was an absolute star, going way beyond one might reasonably expect from a guide. He spoke excellent English, and was a mine of useful information. Best of all, once I said that because of a problem with my balance system I found steep downhill slopes very tricky, he made sure always to walk close behind me, and grabbed my rucksack to steady me on the two or three occasions when I did start to slip. The porter, Ram, was also excellent. He spoke more English than I expected, and was always a source of encouragement and fun. If I do go back to Nepal I'll definitely use them againWritten 18 December 2024

- swissoldies0 contributionsUpper Mustang - a beautiful trek - Photos https://www.flickr.com/photos/stoecklinm/albums/72177720322276619The Upper Mustang Trek is a total different experience than any other trek in Nepal. The reason is the different landscape. The Upper Mustang is behind the first mountain range in the rain shadow. So it's very dry, more like a desert. Furthermore it's the Tibetan culture which makes the trek impressive and interesting. The trek started after a short fly from Pokhara in Jomsom. After three relatively short days on 3'000 m we started climbing up on the western side of the valley and crossed several rivers and passes on the way to Lo Manthang. It was up and down all the time and quite demanding. The hike on the gravel road would have been an easyer trek, but the dust of the passing buses, jeeps and motobikes was unbearable. In Lo Manthang we visited the village with the impressive temples etc. We also walked further north to visit some caves and temples. On our trek back to Jomsom on the eastern side of the valley it was up and down again and very tiring, but still beautiful with views to the Annapurna, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains. The last stop was in Mukthinath, famous for hindu pilgrims from Nepal and India, another impressive place. Positiv: - Our guide Thakur Dahal is simply the best. It's our 2nd trek with him. He was open to change our schedule on demand or if necessary (health issue) - Thakur let me set the pace in our rhythm when climbing in the altitude (up to 4'300) and walked behind us. Other guides set the pace and often it was too fast for the clients and they breathed too much and had to take breaks all the time instead of having a regular rhythm - Our porter Nirjal, a young student who earns some money like this was very helpful and supporting - The unique landscape and interesting cultural monuments - The weather - only blue sky - the first days even clear, later a bit hazy or dusty - Everything was perfectly organised by Rajesh fo Nepal Trekking Experts, including our Safari in Bardiya NP after the trek. Negativ: - The gravel road is really a nuisance. The problem is, that often you have to walk on the road because there is no seperate walking trail - only if you take a much more tiring route in the altitude. - The Guest Houses along the road are often new and better standard than the old ones. But they are very busy with motorized groups and also more expensive and impersonal. We preferend the traditional tea houses Conclusions: Would we do the trek again? No, not like this. We foreigners pay a lot for the permit (US$ 500 for 10 days), but get very little in return. No seperate hiking trail. We have to swallow the dust of the road. The Nepali tourists/pilgrims pay nothing for the permit and get a road, where some of them drive very fast and close to the trekkers.. If and when the government makes a seperate hiking trail, Upper Mustang is more than worth a visit!Written 13 December 2024
- floorm6140 contributionsAmazing three passes experienceI joined the 3 passes trek with 5 friends. It was very well arranged, from tea houses to the information en route. We couldn’t have wished for a better guide and porter. They made this trip so memorable. Thank you Basanta and Nabin it was a once in a lifetime experience.Written 13 December 2024
- GrandTour7296510 contributionsNepal trekking at its bestFrom the very start Nepal Trekking Experts were exactly that, expert, with a first class detailed itinerary that suited our time scale and fitness, all questions answered promptly detailing any changes and the cost, the first meeting at the airport was on time and very friendly taking us to our hotel which was ideally placed and very comfortable. On the trek for 3.5 weeks the guide Ram and the 3 porters were of a high standard and very friendly with nothing too much trouble, the Tea Houses chosen were very good, friendly and comfortable, everything we needed was in place from food to drinks. We would all highly recommend this company to anyone.Written 12 December 2024

- thavo20170 contributionsKanchenjunga TrekSecond trip with Nepal Trekking Experts, and another amazing adventure, hiking up into the remote valleys of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. As always, Rajesh was extraordinarily responsive and accommodating as I was planning my trip, providing me with a private guide (at no additional cost) when the other members of our proposed group tour opted out at the last minute. My guide Dilli was a great partner on trail, extremely knowledgeable, upbeat, and experienced on the route - I felt confident I was with the right guy when other guides started coming to Dilli for advice on trail conditions and teahouse options. All around outstanding experience - I hope to make it back for another trip.Written 10 December 2024
- barcaranger0 contributionsWorld Class Trip to Nar PhuI have been trekking many times with Nepal Trekking Experts and even with the same guide Prakash and Porter Thakur. Rajesh the owner knows what I want things like my own room and if possible an attached toilet as I get older. This Trek is not a well known trek and is quite remote despite being just of the main Annapurna circuit. We travelled by private jeep from Kathmandu to our start point Jagat but despite the terrible road conditions after the floods we made good time and made it in 8 Hours. The next two days were on the main circuit first to Dharapani then onto Koto . The main circuit was very busy but not as busy as the Khumbu this time of year. After we left and headed on the two day trip up to Meta there was zero WiFi and only occasional mains electricity and part from a few climbers coming down from Himlung a 7200m peak we saw almost know tourists. The next two days up to Phu were incredible scenery and accommodation was rustic to say the least. Phu is stunningly beautiful. I knew I had only one huge day in me so we skipped Himlung Base camp at 20km acclimatisation day so we headed straight down to Nar Phedi and the night in possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed the Monastry there. The weather looked like there was going to be snow so a tough day took us up to Nar…the most beautiful village in Nepal where we laughed and had a great day at a local festival. The next day was the Kang La about 1000m up followed by 1700 down in Ngawal. Going up was very very hard at over 5300m the air was thin. We saw 2 retired US soldiers and one German on his 35 th day of trekking plus locals and guides that day. Up was so hard coming down on a moving scree face was worst. It took me 10 hours not as long as the Larkye but conditions were far better. One night in Ngawal then down to Beshihar and onto Pokhara by private jeep and car This was my best of many treks in Nepal. Amazing conditions, no one there , best views. My guide Prakash sometimes was my son sometimes my father when I needed geeing up. I have complete trust in his judgement my Porter Thakur should be a guide he is a lovely caring person who looked after me when I really needed it. Rajesh runs a world class operation and after Nar Phu he organised as my trip to Lumbini and onwards to Kathmandu. I’ve been so many times with these guys they are like family and I know all my friends who have gone with them have been so happy. So next year go to Nar Phu before they build a road and go with the best outfit in Nepal. 100/100. Most important thing is you can trust them and they can completely tailor a trip to just how you want it .Written 4 December 2024

This trek was a major challenge for me: first time in Asia, solo travelling and over 4000m. Luckily, Rajesh was of great help in successfully accomplishing my challenge: always prompt, flexible and understanding, he was there to make sure my journey will be safe, comfortable and enjoyable. He was always there to help me, answer my questions, give me guidance in customizing my trek and I think he did a great job.
On the actual trek, we had Daljit as a guide, Amrit and Diliram as porters (we were 3 ladies in the group). They managed to create a safe environment, friendly and funny, they always looked after us with great care. Daljit is the guide you need - polite, knowledgeable, a true gentleman. Throughout the 3 weeks trek we discussed many subjects such as religion, politics, education and many more, giving me a great cultural overview over Nepal. He managed very well the stressful situations and he was always patient with us (although we would've liked more breaks).
This trek is a long one, if you've never did long treks before, I'd suggest you go for a shorter one - you might get exhausted and moody and that's no fun. I'm glad I had this crew with us as they made the experience smoother.
I highly recommend Nepal trekking experts - they are true experts of the Manaslu trek (they are from the region, they are doing the trek multiple times a year), the price was right for what you get and Rajesh was very prompt in every request.

Words cannot express how wonderful our trip was and the kindness that Thakur and Rajesh showed us when we trekked the Manaslu circuit in March. Can’t recommend them enough, we saw a handful of other guide companies and guides on trail and the quality of Nepal Trekking Experts was no comparison. They created such a wonderful experience for us. We had a number of unexpected things come up in our trip and Thakur and Rajesh took care of us completely. When we go back to Nepal, we will 100% book with them again!

What a tremendous experience with Nepal Trekking Experts! From the first communication to the last they handled everything promptly and professionally. Rajesh was very informative when we were first looking into trekking the Manasalu region. He answered any and all questions over email. It was clear early in our trekking company search that we wanted to go with him and his team.
Upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu we met our guide, Thakur. He was by our side for the rest of the trip! Thakur was an amazing guide in Kathmandu as well as out on the trail. He has such deep knowledge of the culture, flora, and fauna of the region. He was incredibly thoughtful when briefing us on what each day would hold. So wise! You could tell that he and the company were well known and connected in the villages along the trail.
Our trek was in early March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic was beginning to spread globally. Once we began our trek, there were plenty of rumors on the trail about travel restrictions and our status as foreigners eventually needing to get back to the USA. Thakur did a great job making us feel calm and at ease considering the developing situation globally. He was in constant contact with Rajesh and in tune with all updates and guidance from the Nepali government. I can’t say enough about how experienced and professional Rajesh and Thakur were at every step of the adventure. They made us feel at ease even among the chaos of traveling in the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I would absolutely recommend going with Nepal Trekking Experts. I hope to someday return to Nepal and spend more time on the trail with Thakur! Thank you, Nepal Trekking Experts!

We did the Manaslu circuit with Tsum valley trek which was a wonderful experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend Rajesh and his team. Everything was managed professionally from the start with a detailed briefing before the trip, regular (and very accurate) weather updates on the trip and a friendly debriefing with a cup if tea after the trip.
A special recommendation goes to our wonderful guide Mohan who was truly the best guide we could’ve wished for. Super-friendly, funny and very easy going, he made this a truly special trip. I will surely choose Mohan again if I ever go on another trek that requires a guide.

I have trekked extensively around the world and one trick I find is to use a well rated local agency as service is better, they are far better if anything goes wrong and all the money you spend stays in the country….plus it’s a lot cheaper . Rajesh runs an excellent organisation which I dealt with all over the COVID period and he proved to be an excellent partner. He responded quickly and efficiently snd kept me fully updated with the situation on the ground. His guide Prakash and his his Porter Yadu were both excellent and helped to baby me around an incredibly hard trek and ensured I was successful despite the serious snow we faced crossing the pass . Manaslu is empty at the best of times and in this period was super quiet . Everyone else had booked with international firms were paying a lot more ( up to double ) yet were sharing rooms and porters while I had a guide and a Porter to myself , it was our own little team and both locals spoke excellent English. I cannot rate these guys highly enough . From picking me up at the airport , fixing a piece of my broken equipment to helping me with cars , shopping nothing was too much trouble. Please don’t look elsewhere book with these guys . Read the reviews they couldn’t be better. Thank you to Rajesh , Prakash and Yadu !

The Manaslu Trek, Wow!!
Having trekked the Annapurna circuit last year, I wondered if the Manaslu Route would be able to surpass the joy of last year, I need not have worried.
The circuit is a beauty; challenging but rewarding. The long 20km days to begin with, followed by shorter days at higher altitude, helped to ensure that everyone made it over the pass. From walking through tropical forests in narrow valleys, to seeing the majestic Manaslu and Samdu Peaks, the whole circuit is a natural wonder. Even the last day from Bintang to Dharapani, would surely classify as one of ‘top 10’ day walks in the world!
This is the second trip with Ecoadventure and I am very glad to have used them once again. Travelling with 2 other chaps who had not trekked before, the opportunity to borrow key kit was very helpful. I requested Anil Rai as my guide and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any group. Yes, there maybe other guides with slightly better English, but if you want the consummate professional, look no further. From his evening briefings to carrying bags when we were struggling, the whole group were delighted with my choice.
Given the changeable weather, we decided to combine with a couple of other groups for the majority of the circuit (indeed, one of the joys of trekking is meeting likeminded people). It was noticeable to see that even around other guides, Anil was the one who others looked to and fellow trekkers commented on how professional and caring he was.
A huge ‘shout out’ and word of thanks must also go to Dipesh, a guide in the making who acted as a porter and unofficial number two. Credit and thanks to Gokhana, who was acting a porter for his first Manaslu Trek, he worked hard and enjoyed the landscape and laughs as much as we did. If you unsure about using a porter, I would say to use them but don’t overpack your bag for them to carry. They help to make the walking easier for you and also provide work for the locals, which is very much needed.
I would thoroughly recommend the Manaslu Circuit and if you have lots of time, why not look to undertake the ultimate circuit, combining it with Tsum Valley and the Annapurna Circuit? Just be sure to add in rest days!
Finally, a big thank you to the ever efficient Chatra and his ability to handle last minute requests. I look forward to planning my next adventure to Nepal already!

Just got back from trekking Tsum Valley and the Manaslu circuit, and we could not be more grateful for Rajesh, Ganesh (our guide for the trek) and team!
Communication and assistance were spotless. From the first email we received accurate information, and Rajesh always responded within the hour on any inquiry we might have. The airport pickup service was greatly appreciated after a long flight, and when meeting up at the office in Kathmandu we got a good introduction to our trek. Rajesh went above and beyond to make sure we had a seamless and enjoyable experience. Rajesh immediately understood our wants for the trip, and allowed us to make changes to our itinerary last minute to better suit our expectations. We are particularly grateful for Rajeshes flexibility, trust and professionalism when we ran into issues when organizing our trip the first day in Kathmandu. An error in our planning which with other companies might have quickly halted the trek was dealt with and sorted by Rajesh in less than half an hour. - We are impressed!
We are beyond happy with our trekking guide and trail friend for the journey, Ganesh! With a big smile and easy going personality Ganesh were attentive to our every need, and made sure we were always comfortable. He always took us to the best places along the trail, and were of great help when we got sick or ran into other issues along the trail. A great guy to trek alongside with, and a master momo-maker! Our warmest recommendations for this guy if you are heading into the Manaslu region, we will miss walking with you Ganesh!
Impeccable service, thank you so much guys!

Rajesh was an awesome host. He ensured we had the best overall experience possible. He ensured a warm welcoming and transfer from the airport to our selected hotel and back on the dates we wanted as we arrived before the trek and stayed longer after as well. He selected a great guide and porter for our family. The porter had a pretty good english and we were able to communicate with him as well as the guide which was a big plus! Throughout the trek, our guide was in contact with Rajesh in office and all issus were addressed rapidly when they arose (mostly without our direct knowledge). We felt safe and as though the best Tea Houses and rooms were chosen for us by the Nepal trekking expert team. Our 2 children (10 and 11 years old) are great trekkers but the team were flexible on the planned schedule to accommodate any rest days we felt were necessary.
We also did the Tsum Valley along with the Manaslu circuit and this was a great suggestion! We would definitely recommend this itinerary and trekking company as they put the heart in soul in giving you the experience of a life time.

I highly recommend trekking with Nepal Trekking Experts -- especially if you are going to do the Manaslu Circuit Trek! Rajesh, Thakur D. (our guide), and Thakur N. (our porter) are all from the Manaslu region and their depth of knowledge of the area was evident in every part of our experience.
This is my second trek with Rajesh. He was my guide for a Langtang trek in 2014, and when I heard that he'd started his own company, I couldn't wait to support him when planning this second trip. I'm so glad we did!
Because we booked in advance, we were able to get one of their team's most senior guides, Thakur D. He was excellent! He answered all our questions, had a great sense of humor, made us feel safe, and knew so much about the route and area. Thakur N. was a wonderful porter. He carried our heavy bags without a single complaint, was always helpful at the tea houses, and was a serious Dhumbal competitor (bring a deck of cards and ask him to teach you how to play!).
Another reason to choose Nepal Trekking Experts:
While on the trail, it was clear that not all guides & trekking companies are equal; very few matched ours in professionalism and none beat ours in experience. Our guide, Thakur D., had 10+ years of experience over other guides and does a Manaslu trek 2-3 times a year. Other guides were choosing tea houses because of Thakur's recommendation, and I observed him mentoring other guides while we were hiking.
Also, I trusted his experience over all other guides on the trail and felt safer having him in the lead. For example, when we went over Larke Pass, a winter storm blew in, limiting visibility. It was Thakur that knew the route best and led the way down the mountain not only for us, but for all other trekkers and guides on the trail at the time.
All in all, there are many choices out there, but none beat Nepal Trekking Experts! I highly recommend them!
