We had a great time on our recent 2-day Akagera trip with Countryside Tours! Both days were planned completely by the company, and everything ran perfectly on schedule. Our driver, Ben, was a second-generation guide who had tons of experience with the park. He told us about the history of the park, was eager to answer any question we had, and made sure we got the whole experience during our short trip. We even got to see all of the Big Five! Although this isn't guaranteed on any safari, especially in Akagera, thanks to Ben and our other night time guides we were able to locate lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, and black rhinos! Highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit Akagera.

Shadaddy was a fantastic guide and went out of his way to help us. We loved this trip. We asked Olivier to give us a slightly customized change that allowed us to spend more time at the genocide memorial which we highly suggest. Give yourself at least 90 minutes to see the whole museum. Highly recommended!

I booked this tour for my first day in Rwanda and it was an excellent introduction to Kigali. My guide, Shadady, was so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with him almost immediately and enjoyed my day with him. I learned a lot on the tour and especially appreciated my visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, heartbreaking as it was. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who has just arrived in Kigali and wants to get their bearings and learn more about the city and Rwanda in general!

They were very professional at all times, super responsive via e-mail, and they offered a great service! Our diver, Ben, was great and very knowledgeable, accommodating all the needs communicated in advance!

The tour was very well-organized. I loved the beautiful views throughout the trip (while we were driving to and from, and also at the lake). Jean-Paul was great. He showed up on time, made sure I got to see more of the countryside during our drive, and even got us back to Kigali after the tour at a reasonable hour. Would definitely recommend going on this tour to see more of the country.

I would highly recommend the three-Day Nyungwe Canopy and Kivu Lake Adventure with Countryside Tours- Rwanda. We had such a great time exploring new parts of this beautiful country. Our tour guide, Jean-Paul was so friendly, accommodating, kind and courteous. He exceeded our expectations in every way. He was fun and very knowledgeable. Never once did we worry or wonder what the plans were – his communication skills were amazing! We always felt safe and informed. We left early the first day and made a quick stop at King’s Palace. Following that stop we drove to Nyungwe National Park and participated in the canopy walk. Nyungwe National Park is gorgeous! We had an amazing time. From there we traveled to Lake Kivu for an overnight stay. Jean-Paul was an amazing driver and the vehicle was very comfortable with WIFI connection on board. The next day, we took a water trip on Lake Kivu to Nepoleon Island and Monkey Islands. We hiked to the peak of Nepoleon Island. It was so beautiful to enjoy this beautiful lake from the top of the Island. In the evening, we went on a night fishing trip with the locals. Such a magnificent experience. A once in a life time opportunity for sure. The trip included two nights stay and five meals plus all admission to the canopy, night fishing and boat ride to Napoleon Island. This was so much fun! Our group of 23 individuals participated in the 1-day Boat Ride and Game Drive at Akagera National Park. Olivier Kanyabikali at Countryside Tours made this trip such a wonderful experience in every way. His communication was top notch. He and his team picked up our large group from our hotel. Each tour driver was very accommodating, welcoming, knowledgeable, kind and professional. We had the time of our lives! The Safari exceeded my expectations in every way. Akagera is beautiful! We saw hippos, white and black rhinos, giraffes, zebras, elephants, baboons, buffalos, Nile crocodiles, warthogs, impalas and many other antelopes. We also saw many different bird species including giant kingfishers, grey crowned cranes, African fish eagles, spoonbills and many other rare birds. They worked together as a team to ensure we saw as many animals as possible. I would 100% recommend Countryside Tours for this tour.

I took this trip towards the end of my visit to Uganda and Rwanda. It proved to be a great way of book ending my time in East Africa. Akagera is a precious gem on the Rwanda / Tanzania border. I was lucky enough to see elephant, lion (just about), hippos, giraffes up close, cape buffalo, baboon, African fish eagle, zebra and Nile crocodiles. Seeing all of this is not guaranteed of course but my guide Ben was very informative and knew how to try different routes to give the best chance. I met other tourers along the way and the boat safari was a highlight among many highlights. Innocent the 'skipper' displayed a great passion for conservation. With 8 billion of us, we need more spaces in the world like Akagera. I would definitely recommend Countryside Tours, Like I said Ben the driver was informed and helpful and Oliver has been clear and frequent in communicating back and forth with any queries I had. First time in Kigali and first time at Akagera National Park. It was amazing! Our tour guide Ben was the best tour guide we could ask for. He was very accommodating, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Very funny guy and knows the ins and outs of the park. Definitely would recommend. Thank you Ben for a wonderful experience!

Are guide John Paul gave us new insights/information about Hotel Rwanda. Also the views were spectacular. The food at the local restaurant was delicious. A It has been great being here in Kigali.

What a memorable day exploring the Akagera National park to catch the big 5 or how we like to call them the big 5 and the medium 5. Our tour guide was a very professional and knowledgeable young man. A walking Wikipedia with the necessary tools of an expert safari guide; binoculars and encyclopedias. I did other safaris later and looking back, I can see the high quality of the one in Akagera! I learned so so much about animals, wildlife, Rwanda and its fauna that on other tours I could easily take the role of a guide just by sharing the information I learned on this 1day game drive. we felt comfortable and in good hands, he always respected our wish if we wanted to make small changes to the original plan. All in all, big thank you! 🙏🏼

Used this company to do a kigali city tour, and they were good and informative, picked us up from are hotel at the allocated time and took us on a city tour ,complete with WiFi in the car ,the guide told us lots and was informative,recommend to use this company if ever in Rwanda.

We had an amazing and unforgettable time on our city tour. Our guide Jean Paul was incredibly patient and helped us connect with the country and people. We loved that we didn't only go the tourist spots and that entrance and food costs were included in the price. Great for people like us on a budget. It was worth the cost and we would recommend this tour to anyone.
