- CT27500Great!We did a 3-day Kruger safari and a day tour in the Maputo special reserve with Maputo Tours. I cannot recommend them more. Everything was great! The reservation process and payment options were excellent. All communication was easy and on time, both by email and WhatsApp. Our guides were excellent. Our guide at Kruger, Thabi, was amazing. We like all animals, so we were not only interested in seeing the big 5. We wanted to see everything, so she made sure we did! We stopped to photograph every bird, lizard, bug… lol, with all the “can you move the car 10cm backwards” to get a better shot. We saw all the big ones, I think she called them the amazing 8, because on top of the “big 5,” we also saw wild dogs and whatnot. We got to see a leopard sleeping like 2m from our car! We ended up with over 100 species of animals photographed there. I guess we were lucky that we were basically on a private tour as it was just the 2 of us and our guide for the 3 days! The hotel where we slept was good, and the food there was very good. Marloth Park was a very nice place to walk around at the end of the day with tons of animals. The rest camps where we stopped for lunch were also very good with great food options. Our guide had snacks and water in the car. The trip from Maputo and back was very comfortable, and the border crossing was really easy. I was worried about it as Mozambique just added my country to the list of countries that do not need to apply for a visa, so I was worried that the system was not working properly. But no problems at all. They just checked the stamp we got at the airport, the receipt of the “visa exemption fee,” and all was good (no need for the old system of visas with multiple entries and stuff. The visa-free countries can leave and re-enter for 30 days). Remember to keep that receipt though. They asked for that in border crossings and then when we left the country. Our driver on the way back from the Kruger to Maputo said he liked to do tours in the Maputo Reserve because of the landscapes there, and so we decided to book a tour there. I liked the honesty of this agency; when I said that I would like to book that tour, they said that after Kruger, I might get disappointed as it does not have the same “big animals.” But it was amazing! And we really liked our guide – the same one that drove us from the Kruger and had recommended this park. He really loved that area, and it showed. We might not have seen lions, but we saw amazing landscapes, a huge variety of antelope species (probably more than at Kruger), whales passing by the beach, lots and lots of bird species. We really liked it. I just wished we could have stayed there more days, but it was forecasted to rain, so we only did the 1-day.
- Journey3864729636400Excellent kruger safari from Maputo 1 night and 1 dayBIG THANK You from our 4 people for the Wonderful night and day safari we spent in the Kruger. Everything was perfect ! ❤️ Really good drivers, All on time, kind and helpful. We had a perfect visit with the big fives seen in 5hrs and many many more animals seen. The Guides are so respectuf in the park😍, between each other and towards the animals. No friction Never. That was so more perfect than what we can dream of. 💖 Thanks again for such good people happy to share with us their lives, their stories and their knowledge (🙏Ofiso, 🙏Saïd, 🙏Paolo) . That will be one of our Best memory in our life. ❤️Thank you so much❤️
- 905beccaa00Incredible intro to eSwatini! Our driver/guide was incredible and made the day trip exceptional. It was incredible what we were able to see and do in 12-13 hours! Everything went smoothly, the car was very comfortable, and the logistics were seamless. The stops along the way were amazing, so many animals, cool historic and cultural sites, a great spot for lunch and souvenirs. Wonderful day trip!
- PipI_00225500Cultural Trip to EswatiniWe booked this tour very last minute, but the team was able to organize our request very quickly and efficiently - providing all the necessary information for visas. The driving is long, but there are a fair few stops - the game reserve, cultural village, waterfall, lunch, and Swazi Candles. Our guide, Ofiço, was excellent - very informative and friendly! We felt we learned a lot about both Eswatini and Mozambique during the tour. If you have time during your stay in Maputo, would highly recommend! Thanks, Pip and Lauren.
- StefanB88300Very nice tour to beautiful EswatinWe had a great one day cultural tour to Eswatini, which is a very beautiful country so even if we spent many inevitable hours in the car, we could really enjoy the view. During a short stay in Hlane national park we saw wildebeest, hippos and impalas. Then a nice traditional dance show combined with a waterfall and then lunch in an amazing setting. This tour is a must and our great driver, Ofiço, made sure that our time on the road was as safe as possible. We strongly recommend this tour!
- Ellen C00Very long drive but we were comfortableOfiço was our kind driver from Maputo to Timbavati Nature Preserve in South Africa. He promptly picked us up in a newish van. We were very comfortable for the long drive. He gave us bottles of water too. We had a few issues along the way, including 1.5 hour wait at the Mozambique and South Africa immigrations. We were about 1 hour away from our lodge when we discovered a strike and a large truck completely blocking the road. Ofiço had to back track to find another road. This caused a delay of at least another 1.5 hours. He was patient and didn’t complain that the drive was much longer than expected. It took 9 hours instead of the expected 6.5 hours. We felt so bad for him as he had to drive all the way back to Maputo. I would highly recommend Tours Maputo and Ofiço. We felt very safe with him, especially at the border crossings.
- Michelle G00Great Tour!Great experience all-around. From the time of booking, the communication was clear and responses to questions was quick. The driver to and from Maputo was knowledgeable and professional. The tour guide was informative and responsive to our group. We saw a lot of animals and all around this was a well organized experience and worth the price. I would do this tour again and recommend it to others!
- Z4160UDolivial00Kruger is so close to MaputoI still camt believe Kruger us so close to Maputo. I never thought I could have this amazing chance. My only regret was not doing the two day tour. In one day we saw so much but I wanted more. Thankyou Tunelga for the seemless organisation and really fantastic service.
- C R00Great private transfer in MozambiqueVery well organized transport from Durban to Maputi. Driver was extremely professional, vehicle comfortable, and communication good. Would recommend to others.
- 583fitriar001 day safari to Maputo National ParkI did my first safari tour to Maputo NP with Ofiço as my guide. I saw all the highlighted-mammals! It was great and amazing experience for first timer safari doer 🤗.
- kandb1700Great Maputo to Mbabane transfer driveMine is a bit different in that instead of the main Eswatini tour what I needed was transfer from Maputo to Mbabane. Tours Maputo has Ofiço drive me and just wanted to emphasize how good the drive was - very professional, very safe and with his English so good we were able to have conversation the entire way which really helped the time go by - as did the scenery of course, especially in Eswatini where the countryside is more hilly. If you do need such a transfer the pricing was very good and as I mentioned by driver was top notch.
- V8953SMmichaelp00Maputo National Reserve Game DriveThe 1 Day trip at Maputo National Reserve, was very nice. Despite a request done one day before the trip everything was very well organised by Blake. Our Guide Oficío, was very nice and explain us a lot of things on Mozambique culture and of course about all animals we has the chance to see. Unfortunately we don’t see elephants, but that could happen when your are into the wild. If you want to be sure to see them then go in a Zoo, but that is completely different. The lunch in front of the ocean was really nice, with the opportunity to see some whales jumping. So if you have to go to Maputo or Kruger Park, don’t hesitate to come here to book your trip.
- Tomas R00Amazing Safari day at Kruger!Amazing experience! Totally underestimated the beauty of this park. Definitely a place to come back in the future. Keep up the good work!
- Avilio0400Amazing day !I've had a great day. The guides were all very nice, the organization was smooth. We've seen hundreds of animals!
- PapaTom428700Excellent experience. Great views of all the popular animals. Easy pickup/drop-off from Maputo. Both drivers where very experience. Driving from Maputo to Kruger Park and the driver in Kruger Park. Excellent experience.

We went to Kruger for 3 days with Maputo City Tours, from Maputo. It was an excellent service. They picked us up at 5:30 am from the house where we were staying. At the Kruger entrance gate we changed to an open box car where we did the 3 days safari, from 8 am to 3:30 pm, with stops in the morning, for lunch and mid-afternoon. This includes a Light meal with drink and a botle of water on safari. At the end of the day, we were taken to the selected hotel, located in a game reserve with animals, between the Crocodile and Mamelane Kruger Gates, next to the Park network and the Crocodile river, which allowed us to see several animals. The hotel was comfortable, welcoming, and the meals included, breakfast and dinner, were of excellent quality. We saw all of the big five and many of other animals. Our driver was realy nice, thank you so much Nico for the enjoable days. On the last day, at the Kruger's exit Gate, we changed to the car that took us home. It was wonderful. I recommend the excelent services of Maputo City Tours. Thank you Tunelga!

If you are reading this you are probably already convinced that Kruger is a special place and that traveling there from Mozambique is possible. Tours Maputo makes the process very smooth. I was visiting Maputo for business and was able to extend my trip for 2 days in order to go to Kruger. Going for 2 days increased the chance of seeing the Big 5 and we were rewarded by seeing rhinos at the very end of that second day. You probably already know this, but I needed to be reminded that even in Kruger, the animals do what they want to do, they don't show up just because we planned our trip We went through long stretches of seeing hardly anything and then the last hour was packed with elephants, giraffes, antelope of all kinds, and those elusive rhinos. Blake picked us up from our hotel and drove us through the border crossing - which went smoothly and it was helpful to have his guidance. We met our guide/driver at the gate to Kruger and we were off. It wasn't until I went to Kruger that I realized the lodges, the gates, the tours, etc are all optimized around people who make it their primary destination - because it is an amazing place. But for those of us trying to squeeze it in to something else, the help that Tours Maputo offers with the driving, the lodging, setting up the guide and navigating the border really helps. It's worth it.

Many thanks for taking the time to review Dan, and it's interesting that you have touched on something very topical for us right now. The biggest compliment we have received in our work came from a client who was actually extorting us (she demanded money to not give us a bad review - you can see her review below regarding eSwatini, a tour she didn't even go on with us). Her compliment that she actually said disparagingly was that we "don't do anything". The fact that things run smoothly in a challenging cross-border environment is testament to our homework, planning, attention to detail and risk management and mitigation. What struck me about your review is that you recongised this. Kanimambo!

This 2 day safari trip was sensational. We were looking for something that would suit our needs in that time frame and this turned out great. My wife and I, and my 9 year old daughter were well looked after by the friendly and caring staff. We laughed a lot, and were just awe struck by the sites. So worth it. Highly recommended!!! A very big tick in the box.

Our group of 5 did a 2-day, 1-night safari from Maputo to Kruger National Park. We wanted to see Eswatini as well so Tours Maputo was able to work with us so that on the first day we drove to Hlane National Park and did a game drive before driving to Kruger to spend the night. The next day we did a full day in Kruger and drove back to Maputo arriving around dinner time. We had a friendly, safe driver who was on time and made sure we made it through border crossings ok. Our safari guides in Hlane were good and our guide in Kruger was excellent. Nice accommodation as well. The tour was an excellent value and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time on the 2 day safari, the whole process was smooth and stress free and we found it to be really cheap in comparison to other companies which offer the same thing.
We were picked up in Maputo and driven over the border to South Africa and to Kruger park where we were met by our guide, Doctor. Doctor was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and the area and was great at pointing things we otherwise would probably have missed. We spent both days in the park driving round and seeing loads of amazing animals like elephant, hippos, crocodiles, lions, giraffe, zebra, vultures, jackal, warthog... even a rhino and a python too!
We stayed overnight in a lodge i think called Crocodile Kruger Lodge, which was situated in part of the park sectioned off from dangerous animals so were able to walk around with the antelope and zebras, and also walk to a viewing point over crocodile river. The room was lovely, and there was a small pool at the lodge too. The food there was also really nice, however if you do have dietary requirements let Tours Maputo know when booking as there isn't a restaurant on site, they just prepare meals for the number of guests staying.
Overall we loved our time in Kruger and with Tours Maputo and would highly recommend it!

Thanks for the information. I do have a question about the Mozambique Visa. We will have a 30 day Mozambique Visa but wonder if that will allow us to go on a safari with you into Kruger National Park leaving and returning to Maputo?? Will we need a multi entrance Visa???
Thanks
Jane Boyce
