- marens6370 contributionsTailored trip 12 daysWe landed in Accra, then ventured north through some communities close to Burkina, the Mole national park, then to the coast and back to Accra via Kumasi. We had a great time, learned a lot and the TripAfrica team took excellent care of us, anticipating what we would enjoy and always trying to make the most out of every day.Written 28 February 2025
- itsmefergie0 contributionsFrom Tour Guides to FamilyWe used Tripafrica Tours to tour Ghana and Nuru and his team were amazing! They accommodated us every step of the way from hauling luggage, transporting us city to city to city lol, making sure we got in and out of the van safely and ensuring we were safe everywhere we went! If I had to visit Ghana again I’d want to use Tripafrica and I’d request Nuru, Jr and Joe every single time! I miss them all so much actually! Sharing such amazing experiences in their country makes us family now!Written 11 February 2025
- 222tamekat0 contributionsTrip of a LIFETIME 🇬🇭Visiting Ghana has always been on my bucket list. Nuru-Deen and his team definitely made my trip the best of a lifetime. From picking us up from the airport, different hotels, traveling to each destination the guys made the experience feel like home. They were so patient with us. They explained everything thoroughly. They made Africa feel like home. They were family. I would choose them over and over again. Definitely looking forward to visiting Ghana and booking with them again. This was the experience of a lifetime for me!Written 10 February 2025
- Fearless5478100 contributionsIf you want a top tier experience when you travel to Africa/ Ghana 🇬🇭 book with Tripafrica Tours!!!!This was the best Trip we have ever experienced. It was full of adventure and educational. We stayed at the Labadi Beach Resort in Accra. We traveled to Tamele to Molè National Park where we went on a Safari. Then we visited the loving natives in the village and they taught us about the process of making organic shea butter. We traveled to the city of Elmina to learn the history of the slave castles and “the door of no return”. We stayed in Elmina for two days at the Lemon Beach Resort. It was absolutely gorgeous. Right off the coast. We also went to Kakum National Park and walk the canopy bridges!! That was a highlight. I can go on and on about all of our adventures. If you want a top tier experience when you travel to Africa/ Ghana 🇬🇭 book with Tripafrica Tours!!!! Nurudeen and his team are very professional and knowledgeable. I rate Tripafrica Tours 10 out of 10Written 8 January 2025
- T9988KYjoand0 contributions9 Day Tour TripAfrica ToursMy family and I did a 9 day tour to Ghana with TripAfrica Tours in November 2024. We had the pleasure of being grouped with Nuru-Deen and his team to show us the sights of Ghana and we received a warm welcome, lots of knowledge and insights about our far away land. Nuru-Deen took us to the main sights of Ghana...Mole safari, Elmina slave castle, river of the last bath before our ancestors were sold, WEB Dubois museum, Hiking/swing bridge, Ashanti village, and village where shea butter is made...love it! ...just to mention a few. It was such an informative, emotional, spiritual and fulfilling vacation. We returned home with a warm feeling of belonging and with knowledge of our mother country and of our home. Nuru-Deen was very patient as we asked 100 questions as we took our journey together. His driver Shaybou and his assistant Bright made us feel comfortable on the trip to every sight. You have to be prepared to go on fairly long drives and it's important to be comfortable with your driver. They made us feel very at ease. There is a lot to say but most importantly, if you are planning a trip to Ghana, please don't hesitate to contact Nuru-Deen at AfricanTrip tours. You are in good hands!Written 3 January 2025
- taylorc7280 contributionsBest way to see ghanaATMs are plentiful and you should use ghana currency for everyone's convenience. Just write out a chart and keep it in your wallet with ghana denomination equal to US currency. Tip staff generously. Police check points are plentiful but the police are generally very nice, don't aggravated them and it's all good. The roads can be very bumpy, a good seat cushion works wonders for long flights and the vehicle ride. Ghanaians are very polite and friendly and make a lot of effort to make us comfortable so if we have small inconvenience please be respectful and understanding. Ghana is a very safe place and I never felt any uncomfortable going anywhere. Use Uber but tip in cash, use local ride share like Bolt or yango but set the payment to cash and pay the driver and tip in cash. If you set it on credit card you may not get picked up. Meals are inexpensive compared to the states, generally about 6-9 USD. and portions are huge. Local beers, Star and Club are large 22oz and cost only 1.56 USD. in the bar. The weather in October is 87 hi 76 lo. No need for pants. Shorts only and either tank tops or very light t-shirts. Private massage at coconut grove beach resort are excellent, we had the couple massage in our room. Dorothy, Olivia, and Ameri were excellent. Cost was equivalent to 49.50 USD. so tipping them generously is still a bargain. If you have bottled drinking water and candy for them after it helps as the work they perform is strenuous. Our guide, Basit, made our trip very relaxed and serene. Tripafrica tours are very different from the group tours from Gate 1, Smart tours, or Overseas Adventure travel. We've tried those and it became less appealing each time for so many reasons. With Tripafrica tours it doesnt include airfare there, so you can shop the airfare on your own find what works best for you as far as price and dates you want, then contact Tripafrica and they'll put together a tour based on the period you are there. If there are places or activities you want they'll make those arrangements also. They gave me a few options and I liked what they were and picked one. I wanted to come a day earlier to just relax and leave a day later so they adjusted my program to that also. On the big company group tours much of it is so scripted and feels rehearsed and like we're cattle being led around with a guide that is constantly feeding us information overload and won't shut up. Not so with Tripafrica, they don't talk your ear off and they give you room to breath while you take in the beauty of the country and the people. They stop when you need to pee right away or want to get a snack or stretch. We stopped and got fresh coconut juice at a roadside stand and waved down people selling water and plantation chips a number of times. Those other tours would never do that and the money we spend goes directly to the members of the community. We stayed at only locally owned places as arranged by Tripafrica to keep it all local. There were a few very minor inconveniences but all were addressed immediately. Just remember that internet connection in rural areas is spotty. Toilets in some places are different as some areas are underdeveloped, like at stops along the way so bring wipes if you like. By the end of the trip we felt like family. Our driver, George was absolutely wonderful getting us to each location safely and timely. I recommend tipping driver and tour guide generously as the saving using small tour companies leaves you the ability.Written 24 October 2024
- JuanitaJay0 contributionsThey made us feel at homeNuru Dean and his team were fantastic! They planned everything for us and took great pride in making sure our needs were met. The unique experiences were awesome: Andrika sash making, Ashanti naming ceremony, cocoa farm, and cooking class was so much more than I expected. They stayed with us all 9 days and assured we were taken care of at every hotel, museum and experience. Whatever we wanted, they made it happen. I highly recommend and will be using them again.Written 15 October 2024
- japaulak0 contributionsThe Ultimate History Lesson in Ghana 2024I always knew that I wanted to travel to Africa. I originally had plans of touring South Africa. However I joined a tour to Ghana with friends. I am so glad that I joined this tour. My life will forever be impacted by this experience... and I have TripAfrica Tours to thank for that. The trip was well planned and executed. The tour guides from TripAfrica made sure that were entertained, enlightened, and educated, as well as safe, comfortable and satisfied. I would highly recommend TripAfrica. They are extremely professional and courteous. They also have a vast knowledge of the region and places to tour. What an amazing experience! Thank you TripAfrica!Written 14 October 2024
- 554phill0 contributionsSeptember in GhanaThanks to Nuru, George and Paul for being brilliant hosts. They are always cheerful and positive. During our 12 days in Ghana, we had so many experiences. The visits to the castles at Cape Coast and Elmina were so emotional. These are ‘must visits’ when coming to the country. We loved our time in the north, the fish market at Elmina, the village visits, learning how to drum, the cultural activities around Kumasi….and so much more. The people in Ghana are so warm and welcoming. Lots of travelling but worth it!Written 26 September 2024
- 173lakeshah0 contributionsTrip of a Lifetime to the MotherlandNuradeen and our driver George made our trip magical. The whole experience to Ghana was a trip of a lifetime. Nuradeen was accommodating and allows me to experience Ghana in a way I can’t wait to tell all my friends and family about. We look forward to bringing our friends and family back on 2 years. We were able to visit 4 different regions in Ghana to experience the culture, food, the people and why these areas were part of the diaspora of African Americans. Thanks for a lifetime of memories.Written 29 June 2024
- nicolebH7259DA0 contributionsPaga northern tourNurudeen made the trip quite easy, expertly navigating a difficult trek and taking us to the best destinations. He had taken the time to book tours at each place (Crocodile pond, Pikworo slave camp, and Pio Palace), and was quite attentive to our needs and many questions. Superb tour, 10/10, highly recommend!Written 12 May 2024
- scarped20240 contributionsTripafrica - a wonderful experience from start to finish, thank you!My first trip to Ghana was made even more wonderful by having the support of Tripafrica Tours, it's manager, Nurudeen and his great team. I travelled alone and was keen to see and experience not just the sun and the beach but understand as much as I could about the history, culture and everyday lives of the people of Ghana. Pre arrival Nurudeen's attention in listening to precisely what I wanted and then designing a trip to reflect my needs, was commendable. Once agreed, his support with all administrative processes was most welcomed. The tour itself was outstanding from start to finish. A driver who was the consummate professional - knowledgeable, respectful, thoughtful. Nurudeen was readily available should I ever have needed him. The tour itself was unforgettable - people, places, history, culture, laughter, joy - couldn't have asked for better. Throughout, I felt safe, supported and cared for. Nurudeen and his team were outstanding and I'd be personally happy to recommend their services to anyone. Thank you.Written 24 April 2024
- Z4919HZjessicab0 contributionsWow, what an experience. We had a bespoke itinerary created by TripAfrica Tours. We selected the things we wanted to experience and sent it off to them, Nuru-deen responded very promptly with everything we wanted in the package! Communication throughout was great, and we felt very attended to, Nuru-Deen accompanied us most of the time and during meals and driving he spent the time teaching us about the culture and answering any questions we had. Some places we visited we wanted to speak to local people, learn their culture and try some experiences, Nuru-Deen accommodated this, and we were always very welcomed by people and felt that everyone was friendly and accepting of taking time out of their day to show us/teach us what they were doing and how they lived. It was truly a whole new way of experiencing a trip. We did safari, explored history, visited villages, had a beach day (some relaxation in the middle of a fun packed busy trip!), visited the monkey sanctuary, held a snake!!, did a hike and took a dip in the tallest waterfall in Ghana, saw the night-life, and so much more. I really can't recommend TripAfrica tours enough! Also a shout out to George the driver! Very friendly and made us feel welcome from the first airport pick up, as well as joining in with us on some experiences along with Nuru-Deen, which just made the trip so much fun. Maybe next time you'll both hold the snakes! 🙌Written 17 April 2024
- davidwW1172MD0 contributionsGhana offers so so much!TripAfrica Tours created an amazing bespoke itinerary! Ghana has so much to offer, it really felt like we had multiple holidays all in one in just 9 days. Safari, beach, waterfalls, history and the people are so wonderful and welcoming. So many highlights and it was great to have Nuru-Deen accompanying us, providing so many insights to Ghana and giving us opportunities to speak with locals unprompted, to learn about their life and way of living. A wonderful trip, much more than any other holiday I have been on!Written 22 March 2024
- chriseO6684ZI0 contributionsA wonderful 15-day trip to a country last visited nearly 60 years agoI was last in Ghana as a young boy with my family, between 1965 to 1970. So, nearly 60 years ago. I had been wanting to go back for some time, with my wife, and after researching several tour companies, finally decided to do the journey with TripAfrica. I'm so glad we did because we had the best time, were looked after extremely well, and have made new Ghanaian friends in the process. We opted for a 15-nights comprehensive tour as a couple, so were not part of group. This format worked so well for us that we are looking at doing this on future trips in other parts of the world. The trip brought back lots of good memories from the time my family lived in Ghana. Visits included Mole National Park (we flew from Accra to Tamale; so much better than hours and hours of driving to get there), Larabanga Mosque, Elmina and Cape Coast slave forts, Assin Manso Slave River site, Lake Volta and Akosombo dam, Shai Hills Forest Reserve, Aburi Gardens, Kumasi including the fort and military museum plus Kente weaving and Adinkra printing villages, Kakum National Park, Winneba beach (a personal request), all the key sites in Accra. We even got to meet the current owners of the house we lived in all those years ago; a particuarly emotional experience. Even though we did a lot, we never felt rushed and had plenty of rest time. This was just as well, because Ghana experienced a heatwave of 38 degrees centigrade while we were there! A big plus was that every place we stayed at had a swimming pool, which we made full use of. The best places were the resort hotels at Elmina and Lake Volta; they were fabulous. In conclusion, we were so pleased we finally made the trip to Ghana, and that TripAfrica organised everthing so well. A big thank you to our tour organiser, Nuru-deen, and our worderful drivers Ezekiel and Antony. You will not be disappointed if you allow TripAfrica to arrange your visit to Ghana. From the moment I booked the tour as a birthday surprise to my husband, I knew I was in good hands. Nuru-Deen reached put immediately via email and text. He asked ne what we would like to experience, and he sent me an itinerary within 24 hours. After review of the itinerary, my requests were immediately implemented and he provided a new itinerary. And the customized tour was unexpectedly affordable.Upon arrival in Ghsna, my husband and I were in awe by simply being present in the country. However, the fact that we were greeted at the airport by a native Ghanaian who greeted us immediately who was kind, professional and knowledgeable was very satisfying. Thank you Ezekiel.
The remainder of our time on Ghana was a personalized tour with Nuru-Deen. He accompanied us on every experience. He was knowledgeable, professional, personable, reliable and has now been adopted by NY husband as his honorary brother. We had sooo much fun with Nuru-Deen. He was so accommodating. Every experience was one of a kind and exactly what we requested. I could not be more satisfied with Nuru-Deen and TripTours Africa. Thank you Nuru-Deen! We are planning another trip and plan on bringing our youngest child with us in March 2025. We will be using TripTours Africa for this visit as well.
I highly recommend TripTours Africa if you are visiting Ghana for the first time or you are a repeat visitor looking for a customized experience.
