Serengeti Hot Air Balloon Safari occurs at first light, which infers a pre-day split wake up with steaming coffee and a nippy drive to the dispatch. The sentiment of enthusiasm swells through you as the exceptional balloons steadily load up with traveler, ascending clumsily over their secured cartons. Take-off is a riotous, uneven issue, which adds to the energy and improves the unexpected quietness when you reach cruising stature. The bustle of the warming flame mixes the quiet close by the sensitive whistle of air streams and coincidental ‘ooohs’ from your co-travelers.

      Kilimanjaro and Safari Experience!
This trip was truly the greatest travel experience of my life! I had a life dream of hiking Kilimanjaro so I decided to make it happen. I had initially signed up for a day trip to lake Challa, followed by the 7 day Kilimanjaro hike via the Lemosho Route, followed by a 3 day safari through Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater. Leading up to the trip I was quite nervous as I was travelling solo and flying the farthest I have been from home. I had planned the trip several months in advance, emailing back and forth with Jerry finalizing the details. Throughout my preparation I would message Jerry via WhatsApp constantly, asking questions and making sure I had everything in order. Jerry responded quickly with soooo much helpful information. His detailed responses gave me much peace of mind leading up. In regards to the Kilimanjaro hike, the website and accompanying informational guides helped me pack for everything I needed. Safe to say I felt very much prepared and the communication was a big part of that. Upon arrival to Tanzania, I was picked up by Sief, who would be the driver for most of the adventures on this trip. With each of the rides, we would listen to music popular to Tanzania and East Africa, Sief would point out all of the sights and explain bits and pieces of the culture. From day 1 I felt welcomed into a family which allowed me to be curious and learn so much about this place and the people. On the day trips, which included Lake Challa and the 3 day safaris, I noticed how personalized and flexible the trips can be. If you want to see something, ask. If you are curious about something, ask. I had asked Sief on the trip if there would be an opportunity to try a signature street dish Chipsi Mayai (Highly recommend). Following the trip Sief took me to a restaurant on the street and then to the store which allowed me to purchase things I might have forgotten. The guides and drivers were beyond accommodating, all you have to do is ask. No review in the world could summarize my experience on Kilimanjaro. I want to start by thanking and recommending my team. There is no way that I would have been able to be as successful as I was without these guys: Steven Chengo James Hussein Issa Moja Moja Jamal Junior These guys need to be recognized and thanked by name as they were some of the most amazing human beings I had the privilege to have met and observed. The level of care that this team demonstrated was unbelievable. One story that stands out specifically was my experience with Junior. I had accidently worn white shoes on the first day of the hike (Rookie move). I basically caked them in mud to the point where they were now brown. Without asking, Junior took a bowl of hot water and scrubbed the shoes to look brand new (I am not even kidding). This to me goes above and beyond the role of a team member. They were simply overall good and genuine human beings. I learned so much from them, their personal stories, their families, their life goals. Incredibly personal team. I am happy to call them Kaka's (brothers). Without Steven, there would not be a picture of me on the summit of Kilimanjaro. This man would have done anything to see me reach the top. The summit night hike was the hardest and most exhausting experience. Steven's attitude and motivation did not waiver and he pushed me to the top. I had a reflection on the mountain that shifted over time. I originally was climbing Kilimanjaro for my own personal satisfaction and accomplishment. After meeting this team, and building the bonds that I did, I was no longer hiking just for me, but for Steven and his family, for James to one day become a guide, for Moja Moja to cook delicious meals, for Hussein, Issa, Jamal and Junior and their families. A huge part of what made me successful on the hike was the quality and amount of food. When hiking Kilimanjaro, it is less about your overall endurance, but, can your body adjust to the altitude? Eating well, getting good sleep, and drinking at least 3 liters of water a day helped tremendously. Jerry's program is well thought out with all of this in mind which in turn, leads to a high chance of reaching the summit. After Kilimanjaro I went with my new guide Sharima to Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater. He was extremely knowledgeable and well-educated when it came to the safari experience. There was not a single question I did not know the answer to. When you do the safari, be prepared for loooooong hours driving and being in the car. If I were to have done the trip over, I would have started with the Safari and then completed Kilimanjaro. The main reason being I was absolutely exhausted and it's pretty hard to come down from the high of summitting the highest free standing mountain. While in the parks Sharima was able to provide me with so many photo opportunities. He knew the park so well which meant that he knew where and when to find the animals. The beautiful scenery was a pleasant way to end my trip! I have pictures and memories that I never dreamed. I was literally 10 feet from a pack of lions in Tarangire, never would have imagined. On both the Kilimanjaro hike and the Safari, Jerry met me in person to check in about how the trips went. I enjoyed our conversations about the trips which eventually transitioned into more personal conversations where I learned much about him and the company and was able to share about myself. This trip was a highlight of my life and I am eternally grateful to Jerry tours for making it a reality. Jerry and his team truly go above and beyond to make it an incredible experience. Jerry tours not only gave me what I signed up for, but they provided me with memories, new friends, cultural experiences, new perspectives on life, and the success of reaching the roof of Africa. Thank you Jerry!

Super great experience and would really recommend going with Jerry as it's a locally owned business and using them genuinely helps the local community/economy. The porters/guides were great as well and really helped us on our trek.

Fantastic Kilimanjaro Summit and Safari experience with Jerry Tanzania!
Ultimately, were were looking for few things out of this trip: A successful Kilimanjaro "Kili" summit and seeing as many animals on Safari as we could while creating memorable experiences along the way. We accomplished both and a lot more! The most important thing is that the crew/guides made the trip and the experiences we will always remember. I can't stress that enough. Sure, we could have climbed Kili and done a Safari, but we couldn't have made the memories and had the experiences without the great attitudes of everyone supporting us! We started planning in April, 2024, after a friend of ours summited Kili. We are in our late 50s, live in Colorado, and do a lot of higher elevation hiking and could easily training. My wife was going to already be in Africa, so why not mark off a few items from our bucket list as long as she was on the continent. We had the option of going with an American outfitter, but we really wanted to support the local Tanzanian economy and work with a local guide/outfitter. After some research, I reached out to Jerry Tanzania via email, and very briefly gave him our rough timing and what we wanted to accomplish. I was impressed that within 24 hours he sent us an itinerary that ... seriously ... was almost perfect. Honestly, we never changed that itinerary in the following months, only the overnight stays based on what my wife and I preferred. Every time we had a question or comment, Jerry responded diligently within 24 hours, even if to say he needed another day/two to get us an answer. Based on his responsiveness, I was completely comfortable we picked the right guide/outfitter. We started communicating with WhatsApp later (when in the US) and once I arrived in Tanzania which made things easier/faster. When I arrived in Tanzania, my driver, Seif, was waiting at the airport to take me to my hotel. Jerry met with me to talk one last time about our itinerary. The night before our departure to Kili, our lead guide, Rayson, met us (my wife and I) at our hotel to go through all our gear to make sure we weren't missing anything. If we were, they had gear they could bring along for us. Luckily we had camped and hiked enough that we had everything we need. The crew was the hardest working group I have seen! Between each our of campsites, we would leave and they would take the campsite down, run ahead of us on the trail with the gear and have everything setup when we arrived. They were very flexible and accommodating to our needs, diet and anything we asked them. The meals were too good! I'm used to basic camping food and not the feasts they were serving us. In fact, we asked if they could just be simpler for us a few nights ... so they fixed us pizza. LOL. How? I'll never know. And, how did they get eggs up for us without breaking? We had eggs almost every morning. Being sure to not get a foodborne illness was a worry for us on the mountain, but that was never a problem. Water was always boiled the night before and food was well cooked. We even fresh fruit! As we approached higher elevations, the medical checks started to ensure that we were acclimatizing as expected, checking our pulse and O2 sats. We never had a problem, and it was comforting to know that they were looking at this. I actually brought my own PulseOx (but didn't need to) since I am trained in Wilderness medicine. Maybe a slight headache and loss of appetite. The late night/early morning of our Summit push, the crew was all up helping to ensure we had what we needed and were ready to go. The hike up was fantastic, 8 hours of night, sunrise and daytime. Along with lots of others with us. The Summit and return to our high camp for a quick lunch and a 90 minute nap before our 6 mile hike to low camp ... which I think was the toughest part of the day. The morning we woke to breakfast and the crew lined up to sing, dance and congratulate us on our success! We had a nice lunch, some beer/drinks, and then a closing "ceremony" with our summit certificates. What a great experience! We went back to our 5-star hotel (yea that was nice) in Arusha, the Grand Melia and got a good nights sleep in a real bed. Our Safari Guide, Michael, met us at our hotel to take us our Safari Journey. I include some pictures in this posting, but we took 100s of them and saw 3-4 times the animals than you see here. We visited Tarangire National Park on day 1. Then, we made the long drive to the Serengheti for days 2, 3 and 4. Then we visited Ngorongoro Crater for day, heading back to our hotel (Gran Melia) before heading home. What's important to note is that on the last hour of the last day we finally got to see, from a distance, a Rhino, rounding out the Big 5! We were all pretty happy about that! Michael, our Safari Guide, did such a great job of working the radio and his guide friends along the road to get us to where the animals were. It does take some tenacity and diligent work ... and quick driving skills ... to get to the animals. He was also very knowledgeable on all the animals we came across, providing us interesting facts. Also, he took our lead on whether we wanted to stay long, stop and take photos, or just move along to the next sight to see. Thanks, Jerry, for a great trip and memories for a lifetime! Recommendations: > Watch videos on Tanzania before you go. It helped to get the felling of the environment. > Make sure you train ... elevation may not be necessary, but miles in boots is. > Learn a little Swahili. Especially slang. It helps to break the ice. I downloaded the Google Translate App on my iphone. As you hike passing other porters, you can encourage them (and them you) with "Jambo Jambo". I was saying Huraka Moto (fast fire/hot) to the porters as they passed us, and they'd just laugh because it did but didn't make sense. But, they got it. And, the crew is always happy to teach you the word of the hour/day that you can learn/use. "Mambo Vipi" was my favorite, basically "Whats Up". > Let the guides/crew take care of you. Its why they are there. > Eat like the crew! At least once I wish we would have ate what they ate, and how they ate it, as a full meal. I think its called Ugali (like cornmeal paste) with vegetable stew that you dip a small dollop of hand formed Ugali in. On the last day, I got to try it at lunch when I asked. To be honest, I would have had a few meals of this on the mountain! It was tasty and filling ... and simple.

      Amazing experience and highly recommended!
Not enough I can say about my experience - it far surpassed my expectations! From the moment I was looking to book, Jerry was incredibly helpful, quick to respond and everything was seamless from start to finish! As for the climb, Rayson made it so enjoyable for me and if you’re going to do this climb, I cannot recommend him and his crew enough. They are by far the best at what they do and I’ve never had a better crew in any other adventures I’ve done before. The food was amazing, the crew made sure I was always comfortable and they kept me motivated as we got to and finally reached the summit. If you’re looking for amazing service, an exceptional guide and and overall once in a lifetime experience I highly recommend you use Jerry and if you can manage, get Rayson as your guide!

      Jerry Tanzania Tours without hesitations!
Jerry Tanzania Tours without hesitations! Our second experience with Jeremiah and our guide Shirima… Just as perfect as the first time! After a wonderful 11 days safari experience last year followed by few days of relaxation in Zanzibar, we decided to go back to Tanzania and its magnificent parks, one of our favorite place on earth, to enjoy it again while our ageing bodies still can take it! We came with a little different attitude and of course knowing better what to expect! Jerry and Shirima were just incredible to understand our view and desires. If it is possible count on Jerry to make it happen! If it is not, he will explain in details why and will offer an alternative that you would not have taught of and makes perfect sense. We have dietary allergies and Jerry made sure that all our lodges offered us safe and delicious meals even for the lunch boxes. As for Shirima, he was just as perfect as last year! He knows the enthusiasm of Robbert for wild life photography in the parks but that we also appreciate the littles details nature is offering us and he would stop every time he knew a scene would touch us or every time we would say STOP! A very nice gesture: Knowing that we travel hand luggage only, Shirima had a stabilization bag for the camera made to use in the jeep. Thank you again! After a great (11 days again) safari we went this time to little Chole Island next to Mafia Island. Jerry organized everything for us; Air transportation from the Serengeti to Mafia, to Dar Es Salem, ground transportation between Mafia & Chole and the booking of our treehouse. Flawless! Jerry & Shirima thank you for an unforgettable trip and all we hope for is to go back a third time using your services again. Francine and Robbert Canada

      Small but personal tour operator
Jerry runs a smaller tour company so you receive personalized service. We had flight issues and he resolved the problems, reconfigured our trip and made a problem a great experience. He answers his phone personally and promptly. We toured Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and of course the Serengeti. Accommodations were 5 star. Our tour guide/ driver was very experienced and knowledgeable. He made sure we saw the big five. The best recommendation is we are planning to return next summer.

When Only the best tour company will do - Mount Kilimanjaro Climb - 7 Day Lemosho Route -
Where to begin! The kilimanjaro Trek has been something on my bucket list for 20 years. Only recently after turning 40 i realised i needed to get out and do it. I started my journey pretty well knowing what route and length of time i wanted to do. I just needed a tour company, but wanted a smaller local operator so i know my $$ would go directly into the Tanzanian economy. Jerry Tanzania came recommended by someone who had trekked with them previously and Im very grateful they got recommended for the reasons below. Quick and Informative emails: Straight off the bat, Jeremiah (Owner of Jerry Tanzania Tours) was quick to respond to all enquiries i had. Even after i had made the booking and paid up in full, any questions i had were answered quickly and thouroughly. No question seemed too hard for Jeremiah. Ease of Booking: Easy to navigate webpage. You can book and pay in full or pay a deposit with an easy payment plan. You pay into the tanzanian bank so you can trust using your card. The Actual Tour: I chose the 7 Day Lemosho Route, it has ample time for acclimatisation for the altitude as well as fantastic views. On the 7 day tour, day 1 is pick up from the airport. My Chief guide and Driver collected me promptly and made me feel at home and welcome. On the first and last day of your tour you stay at a hotel, Jerry picked a comfortable and clean hotel in moshi which included free wifi etc. On the mountain from Day 2-7, My chief guide and team worked their backsides off to make sure i didnt have to lift a finger. The Chef cooked unbelievable meals. I even had fried chicken at 15,200ft (4600m) above sea level. My chief guide was incredibly knowledgeable on all things to do with the mountain and altitude. he educated me about the plants, geology and fauna local to the mountain. His knowledge and abilities made sure i was ready in health and the mindset to successfully summit on the 19th of October 2023. It was sad to leave him at the end because we had struck up a friendship. I hope our paths cross again in life. Jeremiah & the team at Jerry Tanzania Tours really went above and beyond to make sure my Kilimanjaro dream come true, they gave me an experience that will never be topped by anything else i ever do in life. I could not recommend their company more. I even got 3 visits by Jeremiah the owner himself ( one on arrival night and two after the tour). I will be back to do a safari next year and Jerry Tanzania Tours will be my choice for it.

Amazing Safari in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro
We had an amazing safari experience organized by Jerry Tanzania Tours and can highly recommend them! We were a group of two families with children between the ages of 8 and 10. Leading up to the safari, we had a LOT of requests, such as accommodating the kids' shorter attention spans and many dietary requirements. Jerry took everything in stride and organized the perfect trip for us. Everything was brilliant from start to finish. Our drivers, Michael and Shirima, were friendly, flexible, and extremely knowledgeable. Every day was perfectly organized, taking into account the weather, our energy levels, the best animal viewing opportunities, etc. We saw all the animals we hoped to see and many more. The lodges recommended by Jerry were all fabulous with great food and service. This was probably a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us and I'm so glad we chose to go with Jerry. Thank you, Jerry and team, for the wonderful memories!

      Kilimanjaro trip
I had been wanting to climb Kilimanjaro for a while and finally got the opportunity to go. I booked Jerry Tanzania tours and it has been the most amazing experience. From the first email I sent to Jerry to enquire about the trip, he has been amazing, very helpful, professional and guided me through what I needed to do. The team when I arrived at Kilimanjaro were excellent, my guide Steven, the cook, the porters and the driver were all an exceptional bunch of guys who made the experience everything I had hoped it would be. I would highly recommend booking with Jerry Tanzania Tours, they are a local company in the Kilimanjaro area and have extensive knowledge of the mountain and local attractions. The hotel for the stay before and after the climb was perfect, the food on the mountain was excellent and the positivity and friendliness of the team was second to none. After the climb I had the opportunity to spend some time in the local town of Moshi, I had an amazing time with the best of people. A visit to Tanzania is a must, the people and culture here is an experience not found anywhere id been before, and I can not recommend enough booking your visit through Jerry.

      Great experience in East Africa
It was our first time in East Africa and we had the most fantastic experience with Jerry Tanzania Tours. Jeremiah was very professional and attentive to all our requests. The accommodations he recommended and the tour he designed for us was perfect. Our driver Shirima, himself a passionate photographer, went out of his way to ensure we get the chance to see all animals and take the perfect shot. If you need expert advice to organize a safari tour, look no further!

Once in a life time opportunity
This expedition would not have been successful without the professional and extremely hardworking guides and porters of Jerry Tanzania. The level of professionalism of all the support crew from Jerry Tanzania, including Chef Ali, waiter James, sanitation specialist Mr Jambo and all the porters, including my personal porter Samson, was second to none. All the best to Jeremiah and his team for the challenging work that they put in to make our dreams come true. I highly recommend Jerry Tanzania Tours.

      Must use tour guide, kilimanjaro!
This was an amazing experience. I can't recommend this tour company enough! Jeremy and his tour guides were fantastic from start to finish, professional and courteous. Nothing was too much hassle and they were always happy to accommodate any requests from our party. Our whole party of 13 made it to the top of kilimanjaro and safely down, this was all thanks to this special team that aided us through out. Thank you all so much.

A once in a lifetime experience with the best support crew ever!
I cannot recommend Jerry Tanzania Tours highly enough. They help you to build the perfect trip for you and are incredibly responsible and flexible in answering all your questions as you build up to your trip. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a pretty big deal and although these guys have been up and down the mountain many times, they never forget that for you, it's a very real and personal challenge but also a special and potentially once in a lifetime experience. They are friendly, supportive, safety conscious and respectful. We were given every opportunity to take as many photos as we wanted and our guides, Eric and Brighton, were usually in most of them as well! We did the 7 day Lemosho route which is beautiful with amazing and varied scenery and gives you plenty of time to acclimatise. It's challenging as well but you wouldn't be doing this if you weren't trying to challenge yourself. The team that supported us thought of everything and our tent was comfortable and we had so much good food to eat thanks to our excellent chef MK. The trip is full of extra little touches such as a cup of tea to wake you up, hot water to wash with and someone to dust your boots or carry your bag that last mile when you are beginning to stoop. If you can afford to, I would recommend going as a smaller group because it will feel all the more personal and special thanks to Jerry and the team. And if you can... add on a couple of days of safari at the end to really complete your Tanzania experience. Jerry Tanzania will help you with that as well and apply the same personal and caring touch to making your trip a once in a lifetime amazing memory!

We were skeptical because it is pricey, but they exceeded our expectations with service, expertise, champagne and breakfast after flight and knowledge of area. Chief Pilot was so knowledgeable and we felt very safe! Love the peace and quiet as we listened to animals and birds below and experienced this amazing time! We will never forget!

This was the highlight of our Serengeti experience! Bring a jacket because it is very cool when you start but warms up as you get airborne and the sun comes out. Frank, our pilot, is very experienced and knowledgeable. He showed us scores of animals including a huge group of hippos! The post flight English breakfast was very well done too and capped off an amazing Africa morning - we were on our way to other adventures by 10:30am.

This was the the best experience I had so far in the Serengeti. Tony our guide and captain Frank were so entertaining and professional. The pilot made us feel comfortable the entire time. Views were amazing and I loved seeing the herd of zebra. Very early morning but 100 worth it.
