About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kreischerds0 contributionsExpert and Efficient OverviewOmar was a great guide for my first night in Marrakesh. He was an expert in the best way to get through to the souks, and although it seemed speedy, he was was able to show me so much that I felt comfortable by myself as a solo, female traveler the next day. His English was great, his personality was warm. He picked me up at my riad so that I didn't have to figure out how to find him in the square after sundown, which was a huge benefit for me.Written 12 February 2025
- blueo9020 contributionsPerfectWe had the best time walking through the sucks, with Ismail - highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get some amazing souvenirs.Written 11 February 2025
- 799joey0 contributionsTour of the SouksHad an amazing day with Ismail exploring the souks, met several craftsman and learned how products were made including slippers, woolen scarfs and brassWritten 11 February 2025
- rohnih20250 contributionsSouks TourIsmail was an amazing guide through the souks. He tailored our tour to make sure we got to see everything we were interested in, and made us feel super comfortable! We got to experience activities as we moved around the different areas that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise (medicinal products, carpets & dying processes). We had a small group of 4 and he made everyone feel very welcome and we all got on very well! Thank you, we had an amazing time!!Written 9 February 2025
- gromit22020 contributionsSouk Shopping Tour with OmarOur shopping tour with Omar was a very enjoyable experience. Omar was friendly, approachable and very patient. He took us to all the places we wanted to go and added a few more as well. He helped us with negotiations and felt we got very good prices. There were no hard sells and we felt no pressure to buy. When the price was over our budget, we could walk away with no problems. Omar then found alternate shops more suited to our price range. Omar is very well liked and without his assistance we really would have struggled on our own. Thanks Omar for a great experience. Would highly recommend a private guide.Written 9 February 2025
- pontoseviagens0 contributionsExploring Marrakech SouksI was in a small group and our guide was Ismail, a lovely young man with perfect English and very knowledgeable. We explored different areas of the Souks that I would imagine tourists are not able to get by themselves. The tour was done on a relaxed and cool way where we could take our time to stop at the stores we wanted. As some of us in the group wanted to buy specific products, we let Ismail know and he took directly to stores. All in all, it was as a nice tour and I recommend it! A perfect way to spend the afternoon exploring the Souks!Written 9 February 2025
- valeriov6050 contributionsFantastic experience in the SouksWe took the tour at 10 AM, and it lasted longer than the advertised three hours. Our guide, Mohammed, led us through every corner of the Souks, introducing us to a variety of artisans—from leatherworkers and woodworkers to dyers. Beyond just showing us around and taking us to carefully selected shops, Mohammed provided a deep understanding of Marrakech’s culture and history, along with valuable tips to help us explore the city even further. I couldn't recommend this tour more highly!Written 7 February 2025

- K7663YOsarahp0 contributions1-on-1 Private Walking TourMy tour guide was Omar. He was phenomenal! more than amazing experience with him. He is very knowledgeable of the history. He was very informative. I did a 1-on-1 private tour with him, he made me feel safe and comfortable. He was so friendly. He took some great photos of me too. He catered to my needs in terms of time and areas we explore. Overall, I would highly recommend Omar! Great job, Omar!Written 2 February 2025
- Kirribilli19970 contributionsExcellent guideAbsolutely brilliant tour of the souks and a lot of behind the scenes which we would never have seen with Omar. I was a little nervous visiting the hustle and bustle of the souks that I have seen on tv but Omar was great and I felt totally safe and at ease. The locals are all so friendly and we felt really welcome. We visited a carpet place and whilst having tea learned all about the different carpets and who made them. We then headed to a herbalist where we had a talk about the different local products. No hard sells at all. After that and more wandering we were taken to a shop that made slippers - we would never have found any of these places without our guide. The tour lasted 3hrs and was worth every penny. Marrakech is a crazy, fascinating place and I wholly recommend a guided tour.Written 1 February 2025

- cmony30 contributionsGreat tour, guide and even a treat in the middleCan't go wrong with this tour. Omar is a top notch guide and gives little tidbits of history throughout the tour, but you probably are wondering about the shopping-- with his extensive knowledge and friendships throughout the souks, Omar will lead you to some of the best shops around. I never felt pressured to buy anything-- of course the shopkeepers will give their pitch, but if you politely decline, all is well and friendly. You won't be rushed, and even if you don't recognize all the streets and alleys by the end (trust me, you definitely won't) you'll still appreciate the introduction to the madness. Lastly, Omar even treated me to a taste of traditional Moroccan pastries from a very well know patisserie. Now that's hospitality!Written 1 February 2025

Abdul was funny and a had good energy (even though it was during Ramadan) and made the experience fun. Yes you can see these places by yourself, but Abdul shared a lot of stories and insights into the culture and made the sights memorable ( especially the Bahia palace the tombs and the Koutoubia mosque) . I highly recommend this tour if you are short in Time and want to get and inside view of the city’s highlights.
You will need 14 USD per person for the 2 entrances 7 and 7.
Highly recommend!

Big thank you to our tour guide Rashid, amazing person and guide. As a solo female traveler he made me feel very safe (I believe Morocco is safe for solo travelers already) but he also tried to squeeze in as much as he could for the time we were given. He gave us a detailed tour around the Bahia palace, saadian tombs, and badia palace as well as a spice shop in Marrakech. He bought us all water and showed us the cheapest place to buy groceries. Each place cost 70 dirham (around $7). He was very protective over us and always watched out for us while we were walking in the road. Truly an amazing person and I’m grateful he was our guide as someone visiting Morocco for the first time. I will definitely be back one day to bring my family with me and I hope we get to experience this again.

I was nervous having never traveled outside of Europe before, but my nerves were completely settled after this tour.
Abdul our tour guide was very friendly and spoke excellent english, and was very knowledgeable about each location he took us to. Anyone with an interest in history or art in particular would enjoy the tour. He made sure to give us time to take pictures at each location while also keeping the flow moving so that we could see everything in good time.
The locations speak for themselves, Bahia Palace in particular is a must see when visiting marrakech in my book, some of the rooms were breathtaking. Overall i would highly recommend this tour and want to personally thank our tour guide Abdul for making the trip so fun and being so welcoming.

Disappointingly average, the Historical and Cultural Tour by Marrakech Guided Experience promised a comprehensive exploration of Marrakech's iconic landmarks but fell short of expectations. Despite its enticing itinerary encompassing must-see sites like Jemaa el-Fnaa, Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs, the tour failed to deliver on its promises. Many of the listed attractions were omitted, leaving participants feeling short-changed and unsatisfied.
Compounding the disappointment, the tour concluded with an unexpected detour to a Herbalism establishment, seemingly orchestrated to coerce guests into purchasing oils and ointments from the tour guide's associates. This blatant commercial agenda detracted from the tour's cultural and historical focus, leaving a sour taste in the mouths of participants who sought genuine exploration and insight into Marrakech's heritage.
In summary, while the concept of the Historical and Cultural Tour held promise, its execution left much to be desired. With key landmarks missed and an unwelcome emphasis on commercial ventures, the experience fell short of providing the enriching cultural immersion that travellers seek in Marrakech. Prospective participants should approach with caution and manage their expectations accordingly.

A must do if you have limited time in the beautiful and cultural city of Marrakech! We were gifted with Abdul as our tour guide, who was, for want of a better word, f***king phenomenal. He was warm and friendly and brilliant at guiding our rag tag group around the city. The amount of information that the man was able to provide about each historical site we visited was seriously impressive. His enthusiasm when it came to educating us about his home town, religion and culture kept us interested and entertained. Though the tour was supposed to last three hours, with our permission he extended it for another hour in order to show us a few more so we really got our moneys worth. A lovely man, a great teacher and a wonderful tour all in all. Money well spent! Thank you Abdul and thank you Marrakech!

So, be aware that museums, palaces etc in Marrakech do not have internal explanatory signs or guide books. On your own it's very difficult to understand anything of what you are seeing, so a guide is definitely essential otherwise you are wasting your time!
This was a very nice and very knowledgeable guide. He was five star and explained what we were seeing, the history, recent events and culture. He made it very interesting and we had a really enjoyable few hours.
There was one negative.... you need local CASH for entry fees. Some members of our party didn't realise this and we had to do a detour to get them to an ATM which was a bit irritating.
Other than that it was great and I would definitely recommend it.

We had the morning tour of the palace and tombs as well as the mosque walking through the Medina. Our guide was Abdul, who was hugely knowledgeable and guided us around seamlessly with a brilliant sense of humour. I would highly recommend this tour to give you a cultural and historic view of this amazing city. Thanks so much Abdul 😀👍🏻

We met our guide Karib? at the Jemaa el-Fnaa, as planned. He was early and waiting for us - we took his punctuality as a great first impression. From the outset, our guide was friendly and welcoming. He had a wealth of knowledge about Marrakech and its long history. He took time to talk at length about famous landmarks history and things you would not usually find out by exploring on your own. He gave us great advice about local restaurants and other local sites worth visiting. As it was a private guided tour, I felt we got the benefit of this, rather than being in a large group. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech for the first time as a great way to discover the city and learn a lot about the interesting history.

Great great experience! Mohammad took a lot of time to explain everything to me. I was the only one from the group - and he was very kind and patient. The entire walking tour covers some of the major highlights of the city - it was worth the $$ as otherwise you are just staring at the monuments without any context. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to cover the highlights of the city within a short amount of time.

Any safety concerns for travelers to Morocco currently?
Written 9 January 2020
Morocco is a safe country. We traveled Essaouira, Marrakesh and Dadès Gorges by public transport and hire a care, drove it by our self. Be carefule while walking in madina (Pickpockets), check your things before hand over money. Stay away from people who will volunteer them self to help you. Some part of Morocco are unspoiled by tourist. I dont know which part you are travelling. It is beautiful country. I would go again.
