      The Best Tour ever!
Imad was a brilliant tour guide. We would never have been able to navigate the Souk without his expert local knowledge. He took us to see hidden gems and captivated us with stories and facts about the different sections of the sprawling market.

      Very worthwhile!
My guide, Mohamed, was excellent! He was born and raised in the Marrakech Medina, so he clearly knew all of its ins and outs. He was very friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and helpful in supporting my particular interests (it’s useful to tell your guide up front what you are and are not looking for). In addition to visiting souks, Mohamed showed me where the best street food is and we shared a delicious barbecue lunch. Highly recommended!

Best way to see the souks
Our guide Mohamed was so friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to great shops for everything we wanted to see and there was no pressure to buy. He also took lots of pictures for us and brought us to an excellent street food spot for lunch! Highly recommend!

Welcome to the World Cup of Shopping!
Mohammed is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the souks. He is quickly responsive to any questions you may have and is a very friendly fellow on tour! If you wish just to tour, he will take you to cobblers, leather workshops, metal smiths, and any other artisan craft you can think of. If you want to shop for a specific product he knows the most reputable dealers deep in the souks. There are thousands of merchants here and it would take many days to search wisely. I think it is money well spent to tour with Mohammed as he will take you to areas and merchants that are not on a path that a tourist would typically travel. Highly recommended!

      Great private tour
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring the souks but might be intimidated by the crowds and attention. We opted for the private tour so that we could tailor our trip, our guide was super amenable and was able to quickly forge a plan. Being with a tour you are not approached as much, are able to take more photos (without charge) ensure purchases are fairly priced and more importantly you get to see craftsmanship that is tucked away only local knowledge can bring. Even if you have no intention of buying anything worth the time to immerse yourself comfortably.

      Souk wandering
Abdul was an excellent guide but he got slowed down by our group staying to haggle at multiple stops. Plan to come back at leisure if you have project buys. Easy to get lost in souks, note the little signs at corners and try to use restaurants as place markers (many stalls look similar). Learned how to spot a quality baboush, also got a good lunch tip. Saw a community bakery and hammam fire.

Couldn’t ask for a better tour guide!!
Mohamed was amazing, couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. Took so many photos and saw so many amazing things, we wouldn’t have even seen half of it if it wasn’t for Mohamed! He is a must for the souks!

      Souks tour
Mohammed was incredible! Such a knowledgeable friendly guide, who made our day at the souks feel authentic and fun! He was so happy to tell us all about the cultures and traditions and I really don’t think our day would have been nearly as successful had he not been there to guide us through and get the most out of our experience. Thanks so much Mohammed! Highly recommend

      Friendly and informative
Nice to have a friendly and informative tour around the back alleys of the souks! I would recommend visiting the more popular indoor area after the tour as it was nice having a wonder around there also!

Fantastic private tour that celebrates the best of Moroccan culture
Mohamed was absolutely great. We spent three and a half hours with him. He gave us the full souk experience and really wanted to showcase and help celebrate the best of Moroccan culture. Mohamed is extremely thoughtful tour guide, asking upfront whether there was anything in particular we wanted to see and crafting the tour around that. He took us away from the tourist traps and to the quieter bits of the souks where artisans spoke to us in detail about their craft. Seeing the artisans hand make leather slippers and having some authentic Moroccan cuisine in the heart of the souks were a real highlight. Would throughly recommend taking a private tour with Mohamed. We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon and couldn’t have asked for any more.

      Private tour of the Souks
Mohamed was a great guide, showing us parts of the Souks we would bever have found by ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to several craftsmen who were happy to talk to us. We were left at a restaurant for lunch- it was delicious. We would never have found it by ourselves. A couple of days later we were trying to re-trace our steps o buy from a pottery shop we saw. Mohammed was great and messaged me with directions! We are very glad we booked a private tour. We were a group of 4 and feel that with many more people we would not have the same experience.

      Souks Tour
We had a private tour of the souks with Mohamed Reda Benabad. Mohamed was great. He took us off the beaten track and away from the crowds. At the same time, he told us about local history. He was good company - a great tour. Thank you.

      Tour Guide not needed
Booked this to have a private tour guide take us around the souk as it was just myself and daughter travelling and we wanted to have someone to accompany us. Tour guide Ali was lovely but he ran us off our feet with a very clear preorganized agenda to take us to 5 "special" shops to see how they hand made wool, metal, carpets, clothes and herbal products. It was VERY obvious that he had pre-made deals with the shop owners to bring tourists in and trap us in uncomfortable talks and presentations. Wasted a lot of precious time doing this. Literally all we wanted was a local to walk us around the Medina at our own pace, where we felt comfortable having someone with 2 females, not be rushed around on an agenda to places we didn't want to see. To anyone traveling solo or with children - after experiencing it ourselves, we would have no problems going back alone as felt very safe and don't think there is a need for a guide, unless you have an interest in the history and want to learn more. On a positive note, the tour guide were excellent in working with me when I needed to change the date and time, very responsive with quick replies.

Mohammed was very knowledgeable about the city but we would have liked more about about the history, people and culture.
There were 10 people on the trip which was too many especially going into some of the small shops in the souks.
We were weary of shopping by the end of the trip and there was no water supplied as had been advertised.

Hello, Thank you very much for sharing your experience. This is an experience that offers a great insight about a local culture, people and History including Medina and Souks. At least TWO STOPS in the Souks are included to have a break and have a Moroccan tea drink, and a group of 10 people some are interested to explore the Souks. You could have asked for water because we offer drinks and tastings. Anyway, thank you ! maybe next time. Kind regards, Marrakech guide tours

Mohammed was an excellent guide. We opted for a private tour in order to get a more personal experience, and it was just that. We visited many different sections of the Medina and souks, and we were able to let Mohammed know exactly what we wanted to see and any particular shops we wanted to see (lanterns, spices, etc.). He does a great job of showing you hidden sights (like bread making) that you wouldn't see on your own.

Mohammed our guide was friendly from the first moment we met. His English is amazing & he was clearly an expert on his city. We visited the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Kasbah, Koutoubia Mosque & much more besides. It was a really enjoyable few hours and I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone.

The tour is promoted as a private tour but it isn’t; apparently that means “small group tour “ .It was 2.5 hours and not 3 .The tour is primarily around the souks which was overwhelming and I thought there would be more regarding the culture. If the guide had been amazing the above would not have been an issue but he was so indifferent and was on the phone for at least half of the time .The other two tours we went on had fantastic tour guides so overall sooo disappointing

Hello, I am very sorry that you felt this tour was not to your liking. It is a private tour as there is only a small group which is noted when you book you're option before paying. If you would like a private one to one tour, we do offer this in other packages available. We pride ourselves in showing everyone parts of Marrakech that would otherwise go unseen and experience the culture surrounding us. In addition to this, the guide explained why he was talking on the phone due to a family urgency which one can understand, however, you claimed the opposite. Anyway, Thank you for your review. Kind regards, Marrakech guide tours

after reading the reviews we had big hopes of an independent, friendly and commited tour guide but unfortunately it turned out to be a very big disappointment on all of those fields.
The first hour was actually quite ok, Reda was friendly and told us about the city. After the first stop at a shop for scarfs there was no change in his behaviour even though we didn't buy anything. After the next stop (a big shop for rugs) it started to change, we didn't buy anything here either and from that moment Reda didn't really like us anymore, when we bought something at the next stop (a sort of herborist/pharmacy) to try and cheer him up, it was apparantly not enough so the rest of the way he didnt say anything anymore, only looked at his phone and occasionally turned around to see if we were still following him. After one more stop he brought us to restaurant Le Jardin where he told us that the tour was over (after 2.5 hours only). Even though it was alot shorter than we expected (2.5 instead of 4 hours) we were actually happy the trip was over because the mood was terrible. Maybe we didn't have a connection with Reda but we are very sure that not buying from the shops of his friends is not contributing to the atmosphere of the shopping trip.
If you are not looking for rugs, scarfs, sandals or overpriced soaps and herbs, then don't go on this trip. Actually, just don't go on this trip.

If you want to really understand and discover the secrets of Marrakech, this is the tour. Reda, our guide, was super friendly from the get go. He adjusted the tour to what we wanted to see and experience. We started off by going into the Souks where he showed us how some men were working on making Schwa, one of the local delicacies. Then, he took us to the Secret Garden and explained the history of it. Afterwards, to the Museum of Confluences - where we learned about the 3 monotheist religions coming together in Morocco.

I wanted to buy oils and spices and he took us to a place where Abdu, the guy in charge, explained us the whole thing... I loved the time and dedication he showed to show us his products.

One of the real gems was going to see where the tangias were being made... such a one of a kind experience!! You will never see this as a tourist on your own.

We went into more shops and we end our tour in the Jemma Fna square around 2pm.

TOTALLY worth your time and your money!

Mohammed was excellent. He explained everything and answered all our questions. He was friendly and smiled a lot. He spoke perfect English and showed us people and places we would never have seen on our own. There were 4 of us in the group - 2 older ladies and 2 in their 30s. We all enjoyed it and would definitely recommend Mohammed as a guide. We learned a lot about Marrakech and the culture. We did buy some shoes at a shoe shop he took us to but that's because they were real leather and well made. We also visited an apothecary where we were served tea and shown different oils and spices. I had a bad cough and they gave me eucalyptus and a special tea which helped. Mohammed had a good sense of humour and told jokes but also gave us sensible advice and suggestions for places to eat and visit. We could have wandered around the Medina but we would have got lost and not got so much out of it. Thank you Mohammed.

We arrived in Morroco yesterday with little idea of what to do, and booked this tour last night. We arrived outside the meeting point and were promptly met by Ahmed who took us around the extremely large market in the centre of the old city, He showed us local foods to local garments and culture. Taught us about how the local culture used to live and now live in modern day. He introduced us to Koran school, Mammas, how people in the past collected water, where and how they buy their local food and overall gave us a very good introduction to our first day of our first visit to Morocco.
He also took us past many artisans and we got to see how many artisans work. Carpet weaving, scarf and blanket making, metal and leather work.

Fabulous tour incorporating local food delicacies, carpet weaving, local bakery, Hammam heating, shopping and gorgeous roof top terraces for stunning photos. A great way to get a really interesting alternative view of Marrakech; and importantly as two girls we weren’t hassled as we went around the Medina.
