About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 1kierab0 contributionsHighly Recommend - Toubkal 2-Day (A second time with Toubkal Trekking)Highly recommend. This is my second Toubkal climb with Toubkal Trekking after joining them in 2015. They are brilliant. Super friendly, safety focussed & honestly - the most considerate / attentive guides (thanks Mustafa!). Great communication start to finish. The 2-day trip is incredible and the best way to climb Toubkal as you get the alpine start/sunrise climb. Important that you have the fitness / experience to do a 5 hour day 1 & 10 hour day 2 though with 3000m ascent. Very good value for money with Basecamp stay, lunches, dinner and Marrakech RTN transfer & your guide included in price.Written 23 October 2024
- 803pial0 contributionsMust-do experience! My 2-day trekking adventure to Mt. Toubkal with Toubkal Trekking was absolutely extraordinary! From beginning to end, everything flowed seamlessly. Despite being in a large group, the shared enthusiasm made the journey even more enjoyable. The professional guides were outstanding—encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to creating a memorable experience. The night in the mountain hut was surprisingly cozy, setting the ideal tone for our incredible summit. Standing at the top of North Africa's highest peak at sunrise was an awe-inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime moment. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, I can't recommend Toubkal Trekking enough! P.S. And let’s not forget the culinary experience! The meals were delicious, traditional Moroccan dishes that added an authentic touch to the whole journey!Written 22 October 2024
- U5757SDsebastianv0 contributionsGreat ExperienceWe had a wonderful three day ascent to Mount Toubkal. Communication with Mustapha was easy and straightforward during the planning phase. Our tour guide Noureddine was very professional and nice to spend time with. We felt well guided and in good hands all the time and enjoyed great food as well. I would go with this operator again.Written 20 October 2024
- jonaha1290 contributionsSpectacular ExperienceI had a wonderful excursion up to the top of Toubkal. It was reasonably challenging, but I felt well taken care of by my guide Yousef and had an amazing cultural experience. The mountain refuge was warm and accommodating and the views on top of Toubkal were stunning. Thank you!!!Written 15 October 2024

Food and support from the Guide, Cook & Mule Drivers was fantastic throughout. Friendly & polite team. The Mules were well cared for and not overloaded, which was important to us also. Highly recommended.Written 30 September 2024

Our guide Hassan (1) and cook Hassan (2) together with the Mule Jacky lead us thoughtfully and with great attention to the top of the Toubkal. Will definitely be back and can’t thank Mohamed and Moustapha enough for organising the trip and for getting me up there. Simply the best people to get you to the highest point in North Africa!Written 17 June 2024
- O5516NNjoanc0 contributionsGreat experienceEverything went so smooth, from the pickup at the hotel to the actual trek, the guide, etc. Everybody was very helpful and willing to make our trip one to remember. Kudos to all the team ! If you have time make a detour to see the rests of the airplane, if only for the history behind ;-)Written 6 June 2024
- christianlS7595WD0 contributions16 to the Summit of ToubkalAn amazing and brutal experience at the same time. The views were out of this world and we experienced all weathers over the course of 2 days - sun, cloud, rain and snow but thankfully summit day was clear so we could enjoy the feeling of being on top of the world! The Toubkal Trekking guides were superb - Nordine and Brahim were patient, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We took a long time to complete the trek but that’s to be expected from a group of 16 with varying levels of fitness and different levels of acclimatisation to the altitude. Our guides were surprised no one turned back! The food was excellent and plentiful thanks to our dedicated chef and our duffel bags and mattresses were safely transported (although a bit wet after the rain on the way to base camp) by the mules and mule driver team. Thanks to the Toubkal Tekking team for a wonderful experience!Written 16 May 2024
- gkibble890 contributionsToubkal Trekking up Mount ToubkalAn incredible experience, organised by Toubkal Trekking. You have to do this! It is hard, no hiding from that, but it is doable - especially with the expert support of Toubkal Trekking. We had 2 guides, a number of chefs plus mules. We stayed in Dar Imlil the night before (which was absolutely perfect - pool, good local food, lovely staff, fantastic rooms and v reasonably priced). The refuge at base camp is better than we expected - comfy beds. Bring ear plugs as you won't get much sleep due to all the 'comings and goings'. This is a brilliant trip with a real sense of achievement for everyone that completes it. Outstanding views and definately 'one for the bucket list'! I would 100% recommend Toubkal Trekking. - Saha900 contributionsWinter trek to Mt Toubkal15 (age 43- 55 years old) of us decided to go and climb Mt Toubkal. I contacted Mustapha (I found him through a Google search ) around six weeks before the trip. From the UK, we reached Marrakesh on 23rd February. He arranged everything, from pick up from the airport to drop off at the airport, all accommodation and meals at a reasonable price. We stayed the first night in Imlil, where we started the hike. After finishing the hike, he booked us in a nice hotel in Marrakesh ( hotel Del Rosa), where they served a lovely buffet, although we were very late, nearly midnight when we reached the hotel. Mustapha is a lovely, cheerful chap who is happy to accommodate all your reasonable requests. The hike itself was a lot more gruelling than we expected. We did decide to go for a winter trek despite advice that the winter hike is challenging. We wanted to do a winter hike, which was worth the pain. I would recommend Mustapha’s company.Written 28 February 2024
- wera3420 contributionsAmazing trip!We took one day trip from Marrakech to Imlil. Huge thanks to our guide Mohammed Sarkozy who took care of us perfectly. He showed us all the best spots and shared a lot of interesting information about mountains on the way. We felt very safe, we could easily see that he is a very experienced guide. Also a warm and funny person. We recommend the trip and especially the guide if you want to run away from noisy Marrakech!Written 25 June 2023
- eagle540 contributionsFabulous! Their 5* reviews are 100% deserved!Initial contact was with Mustapha who responded quickly, I was a little concerned about our pick up in Marrakech but Mustapha gave me his WhatsApp number and everything went smoothly. We can not thank Ibrahim (our guide) and Hassen (our chef/mule 'driver') enough for doing such a great job. The food was great and there was plenty of it. Ibrahim was patient and knowledgeable, and celebrated with us at the summit even though he has done it 80+ times before. The hike is a challenge. We were there in June so very little snow/ice remained....only had to walk over about 10metres of it so no need for crampons. The weather was perfect and the views were stunning. The base camp was a lot better than I was expecting. Shared dormitories, but the possibility of a hot shower! Big thanks to Toubkal Trekking for doing such a great job, I would not hesitate to recommend them.Written 16 June 2023

This was a wonderful experience from beginning to end, and I would highly recommend it. We are avid hikers and hiking in the Atlas Mountains was very unique and wonderful. Passing through the villages where life remains much as it has for hundreds of years was such a special experience, as was hearing the calls to prayer from the different village minarets all throughout the region. It was truly unlike anything we had ever experienced. Our guide was so kind and knowledgeable and made our day very special. There was a man with a packed donkey that was going our same way and it turns out he was our lunch chef. He made us the most delicious meal which we ate in the shade of a very shallow cave and when we were done our guide invited a goat herder to come eat. I thought that was so great. We were told that this goat herder lives in the same way his ancestors have for hundreds of years and he is totally uncorrupted by technology of any kind. After our wonderful day hiking, we went back to the village of Imlil where we stayed in a Berber home for the night. We had the most spectacular view of the mountains and valley from the balcony and enjoyed a delicious dinner. There are no roads and hence no automobiles in these villages and it was quite amusing in the morning when our two large suitcases were loaded onto a donkey and we walked back to an area where cars can access. This is a trip that I highly recommend, and it is one of our favorite memories of our time in Morocco.

We went in May 2018.
This trip was full of incredible sights. We started off with easy transportation from Marrakech before we set off with our pack donkey, English speaking guide, and extra helper. We set off into the mountains and almost immediately were struck with the beauty of the landscape. Before long, we stopped for lunch, and what a lunch it was! We were so impressed with the food on this trip - we are used to camping food and this was always fresh and delicious.
We were the only hikers the entire 4 days, which really made it extra special. (Except for the occasional goat herder.) The villages were tucked into the mountainsides and it felt like going back in time. We slept in home stays at each village, which was usually rustic but we didn’t mind. When we weren’t hiking, we just walked around the villages or read our books.
We could not have done this trip without our guides. It was an unforgettable experience.

I had the pleasure of a multi day hiking trip in November last year and would highly recommend. The scenery through was epic as we hiked through remote villages and mountain passes. The food at our breakfast, lunch and dinner was always plentiful and delicious. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly and even joined in on our card games in the evening 😃!
The real highlight for me was seeing the Milky Way over the Atlas Mountains. There is almost no light pollution so the stars are clear and amazing.
If you want to get out into nature and experience spectacular landscapes and a different culture then this trip is for you.

My mother and me spend Christmas hiking thought the valleys and mountain of the atlas.
Everything was so perfect. The amazing views, the yummy meals that were waiting at lunch at the peak of the mountain. As well as the guest houses at night, which were comfortable.
The only sad thing was that the time passed so quickly I would advice to take even longer trips than 3 days, because it's simply amazing and breath taking.

We were å group of 17 people, children and adults. Toubkal trekking arranged the whole trip for us. We where in marrakech with sightseeing, 3 nights in the beautiful atlas mountains and in essouira. We stayed at beautiful riads. The guides were great. We did hiking and mountain biking.
Thank you so much for a fantastic trip. No doubt we will be back again, maybe to try out the dessert trip. 😊

The best 3-days of our lives and we can't wait to visit it again once everything is back to normal. My wife and I spent an amazing time in Morocco and everything is just beyond our expectation. The tour guide provided was very friendly and accommodating. We learned the history and appreciated the beauty of the views all at the same time. And talk about the view - the view was amazing! It is not how I imagined it would be and I am so delighted. The guesthouses that we stayed in during our hike are also very nice. Really well spent and worth every penny spent. Highly recommended!
Hope to be back soon with our kids, and will try to check out the waterfalls in their offer tours. Can't wait!

This was very much the trek we were looking for. Mustapha organized a four day trek for our family, and it was just about perfect. We are a family of five, including three kids ages 9-13, and were looking for some good distances and to get a taste of Berber culture. We had a guide, a cook and an additional mule handler. There was enough room with the mules to carry the bags we needed for the trek, and the remainder Mustapha was able to store at his guesthouse in Imlil. Transfer to and from Marrakech was also included, and our guide met us at our accommodations there to facilitate the pickup. From a logistical standpoint, everything about the trip was very easy for us.
We had two guides during the trip. Our guide for the first half spoke great English and was really knowledgeable about a wide range of topics, and even organized us visiting a Berber family for tea in their garden. Our guide for the second half spoke a bit less English, but had a lot of local knowledge and was great with our kids. Both the cook and muleteer also spoke a small bit of English, and were very friendly.
The food was excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fully cooked hot meals and were traditional Moroccan dishes of the same quality you’d find at any restaurant in Marrakech. There was always enough food. You’ll want to organize your own water and other drinks (aside from the near-endless mint tea!), but there are shops in every village where we bought additional bottles each morning, as well as kiosks in a couple of the mountain passes.
Accommodations were totally adequate. The guesthouses had a bit of a range in their simplicity, but we were always comfortable and warm (the guesthouse at Tizi N’Taschendirt, at the highest altitude, was quite cold, but excellent blankets were provided and we slept warmly. Be sure to bring warm clothes for evening time). Not all of the guesthouses had hot water while we were there, and you should plan on bringing your own toilet paper and towels. Though basic, we were never uncomfortable, and every place was at least several steps up from camping.
The hotel in Imlil included at the end of our last day, dar Assarou, was excellent, and I’d recommend staying in it even if you weren’t trekking. A very pleasant way to celebrate the end of the trek.
I should note if you are considering bringing children on this trek that this is some moderately strenuous walking. The first two days were 10+ kilometers, and you are at altitude (2500m). Our kids did mostly fine, but they are experienced at this sort of thing- even our 9-year-old has half a dozen 15km hikes under his belt. If your kids don’t have experience with this level of strenuous activity, this might not be the place to start, though I’m sure Mustapha could also arrange something different (the itinerary he proposed when we were first organizing this included routes and altitudes so we had a clear idea what we were getting into). The muleteer was clear that the boys could always ride on the mules if they needed to get a break, so this might help bridge the gap for your little one.
Mustapha was always in excellent communication with us as we made our plans and as the time for the trip approached- including our dietary accommodations, organizing other activities, etc. He was also able to accommodate some last-minute changes we needed to make to part of our itinerary.
All-in-all, this was an excellent trip, and a great value. The scenery is stunning, absolutely stunning, the people in the villages we passed were welcoming. This trek was part of a larger trip, and it was really nice to be able to pass off planning, logistics and meals to someone else for a few days- everything went smoothly, and we were able to truly mentally relax. I’ll recommend this trip to any of my friends going to Morocco- it’s an essential stop, and Mustapha will take great care of you.
