Thank you Mohamed from Ait ben Haddou for you smile and opening your house. Than i had the Luck to meet Yacine Who made me vegetarian meal and treated me as a Princess and Mohamed from Zagora born originaly from many generations berbers.Mohamed played djembe took care of the dromedaris, played magical music and told me about the stars. To finish this magical two Days my driver even took me on a Pick Nick wth the great est view (still keeping in mind my Money troubles) in the berber culture sharing is mandotory. Nature never ceases to amaze me
What a GORGEOUS trip out of the city. The Atlas mountains are beyond stunning and the desert camp is everything I hoped it would be. Abdou knew ALL the spots for photos in the Amazir villages and the Ounila Valley. Such a magical adventure. Also Mohamed and the whole camp crew kept me company as I went alone. We had such an awesome time!

Ask for Abdo, Lahsen and Mohan!
Oct 2021 • Friends
After extensive amounts of researching different tours we decided to go with this particular package and I could not have asked for a better experience! Abdo was amazing! So polite and friendly - good at social cues (perfect balance of chit chat and silence with music for the long drive). He made regular stops to give us a chance to take photos and appreciate the most scenic views. The car has great AC, is comfortable, clean and spacious. As 2 female travellers we felt very comfortable and safe throughout the whole journey. Throughout the tour we stopped by and met Lahsen (make sure you ask for him!)a local tour guide for a tour of the berber village and the kasbahs - he was very informative and well versed with historic and recent events as part of a background behind the sightseeing including the world unesco heritage sights. For a very small fee (about 5 euros) you will have the most amazing tour and views which you cannot find anywhere else and leave with more knowledge about the berbers. There will be a lot of walking on different terrains so avoid flip flops and take water with you!
To end the day and spend the night in the desert we met Mohan who was the kindest man ever for a camel ride during su set for about an hour. Dinner in the tent set the bar ridiculously high - it was absolutely delicious- followed by some traditional drums, singing and campfire under the mesmerising starry night sky. Wake up early the following morning for a beautiful view of the sunrise whilst sitting on the sand dunes before breakfast.

10/10 would recommend this experience with the named people and would not change anything

Ask for Abdo :)
Oct 2021 • Friends
Abdo was an amazing driver, super friendly, informative and had great stop off locations for a quick look at the scenery (which you don’t want to miss!). The journey is long (as expected) but we had plenty of opportunities to stretch our legs and get out of the car just to look around and the car is super clean.

The kasbah Haddou UNESCO stop is as pretty as it looks in the photos. We had a local guide Lahsen (an artist) who’s family lived there so it felt very authentic. We learnt quite a lot about their culture, as well as their unique building techniques - I’d recommend this stop for sure as he was a font of knowledge.

The desert was the highlight for me. It was magical, from the pick up with our guide Mohan (not sure how to spell his name!) who was the friendliest man, checked on us regularly and took lots of photos for us. To the camels who were sweet and very calm. The music at night was fun and we had our go with the instruments. Nothing compares to the sunset and sunrise which were breathtaking, definitely force yourself to wake up for the sunrise! We were expecting a very bare bones dinner but the tagine was the best thing we’d ever tasted! It set the bar impossibly high in our opinion.

Would recommend this tour for a taste of the desert and a look around the different landscapes Morrocco outside of Marrakech. The nicest, friendliest team of guys!

Thank youuuuu 😊

Youssef is a really nice driver. He answered all our questions and the car was very clean.
We can really recommend the tour even though its a long way to drive. The people at the camp were also really nice.

Worth it!
Had a really great time travelling through to the Sahara and starting the night there. Had a few stops on the way to to really take in the absolutely breath taking breathtaking sites of the mountains. Our driver, Abdou, was very accommodating and made the drive much more enjoyable. Fair warning though, the drive is the 6-7 hours each way so please prepare yourself for that. However, it is worth it!

It was incredible!!
May 2021 • Couples
The journey was simply magical! Thank you to our wonderful driver who stopped at the most beautiful locations on the way to the desert! We also wanted to take a picture in the poppy field, and the driver fulfilled our little dream without any problems! The camp was very comfortable, the dinner was insanely delicious-tagine is my favorite dish now. Sunsets on the dunes deserve special attention, it was very beautiful and unforgettable. And at night we saw the most starry sky in our lives. Thank you to the guides, the driver, the Cheerful Bedouins for their drumming around the campfire. And to the local Moroccans for the fun company. Definitely one of the best travel experiences!🧡

A delightful visit to the desert and back
Our Zagora desert tour was a wonderful experience. Our driver for the two days was Abdou. He was a gentle and kind man. During the drive, he took all the opportunities for us to stop and take photos of the magnificent region. He is passionate about his Berber culture and happy to share stories. Before Zagora, we stopped at Ait Ben Haddou. Our guide there was Hassan, he took us around the heritage listed Berber village and invited us to have lunch with his family home with Abdou aswell. After lunch we were amazed by a local artist Mustafa. He creates art using Berber materials, tea, saffron and orange juice (yes, orange juice) and brings the art to life using fire/heat. Then we continued to Zagora. We were very unfortunate with the weather as the clouds came in, but the rain was much needed for the area. Thereafter we met our camel leader Mohammed, leading us into the Zagora desert camps. The desert was very rocky and began along the road, however the sand dunes began to appear at the base of the mountains closer to camp. This was a spectacular sight! The camp caretakers were all wonderful. They were entertaining and friendly. All our meals were lovely. The camp is well looked after and had all adequate facilities (hot water included). We woke up with the hope of a sunrise, but alas, the clouds stayed behind. On our way back to Marrakech, Abdou took us to Ouarzazate before driving through the amazing snow capped Atlas Mountains and safely back to Marrakech. On top of all of this, we had this whole experience on our own. The first overseas tourists to camp in the Zagora! We're grateful to have the private tour, but would love to come back when the world opens again and we can share it together. Thank you to Ando Travel! YALLAH!

(Prepare yourself for long drives and winding mountain roads, and if you can... make sure mother nature delivers with her blue skies 😊)

Best trip with SAID!!
Feb 2020
Our tour guide's name was Said and he was truly the best guide we could've asked for. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgable, and you could tell he really loved his job. He even went out of his way to get me a water and a soda after I got sick at one of our rest stops. The excursion itself was an incredible experience (the desert camp was much much nicer than expected!!). Would recommend this to anyone, and you're especially bound to have a great time if you're lucky enough to have Said as your guide. (P.S. If you get motion sick easily - I BEG of you, take some dramamine. I took some and still ended up getting sick lol).
