- R6184TXmarianam0 contributions100% beautifulThe tour was amazing! Adam and Sydney made an incredible job conducting the tour. They explained a little of history and some jokes too. The views were beautiful!Written 24 March 2025
- Emma P0 contributionsFun ExperienceWe thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Beautiful scenery, great exercise, knowledge tour guide. Out of all the activities we did in Oahu, our family of 4, with teens, ranked this the best.Written 23 March 2025
- deero230 contributionsNice Entry Level Tour with a Fun RideThis was a nice way to learn a little about the Ranch. We originally went so my son would be able to see some of the Jurassic Park highlights but the entire family enjoyed the tour. I liked the fact that it was a smaller group. We got off of the vehicle twice. Once to see a recreation of a small village setup and again for a short hike up for a beautiful view. On the hike they had some poles at the bottom to help with the climb up and I’m glad I used them. The hike was 3-5 minutes and we did have to catch our breath at the top but the kids flew up 😂. I was hoping we would actually get to go into the Jurassic Park setup but we only stopped in front of it. My son was still happy. The ride is bumpy and I could feel it in my neck. They do ask before you get on if you have any neck, back or knee injuries. So that is probably why. I don’t think we would do this particular tour again but we would visit the ranch again and try some of the other tours.Written 21 March 2025
- alyrnolting0 contributionsJust a nopeWould give 0 stars if I could. Not only are their signs two different heights but the ladies working are some of the most miserable people I've ever met. Saddle sores on the horses, yanking on their faces, horses with clear anxiety faces. Would not recommend AT ALL. Do the UTV tour instead.Written 19 March 2025
- KeukaSue0 contributionsFun adventure in the mountains with beautiful views.Fun tour through the ranch. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and ocean. Only downside was the dust and dirt. Definitely plan to shower or swim afterwards.Written 18 March 2025

- 4cookiesrwe0 contributionsExcellent and dusty tour!Excellent tour! Michael and Kekoa were fun and friendly and had us laughing at every stop. Thank you for sharing the extra history stories regarding Kualoa and the surrounding mountains. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. The trails were fun and invigorating. I didn't want the tour to end.Written 13 March 2025
- Walter W0 contributionsWay overpricedWay overpriced for what you get. They only make 3 stops and you drive by tons of things that look interesting but the guides just say, “oh you have to take a different tour for that” You are on a paved drive way most of the time so driving the UTV isn’t even fun. There is no way this is a $180 experience. And we had 4 people, so $720 that would have been much better spent chartering a boat or something. Do not recommend.Written 13 March 2025
- maryhR7572XS0 contributionsAwesome time on the horseback tour!Loved this tour! The horses were well taken care of and healthy, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the views were SPECTACULAR. highly recommend!!Written 12 March 2025
- desifoto0 contributionsNot what we were expectingThe tour guides were great. We thought it was going to be all on the ocean on a big catamaran, but it wasn’t though. We spent half the time in a massive pond on what I’m assuming they were calling a catamaran and then a very short stint on the ocean on a boat. We were both like, “That was it?” when we got off the ocean part of the tour. I still loved seeing the turtles and views at last.Written 11 March 2025
- allyr3040 contributions5 Stars Aren't Enough! We had the most incredible experience at Kualoa Ranch, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guides, Eva and Chauncey, for the UTV Raptor Experience. This was my first time at Kualoa Ranch, and the views were absolutely breathtaking—truly some of the best I’ve ever seen! Eva and Chauncey were so knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the island's culture, history, and the incredible reserve we were exploring. They were always ready to answer our questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. Not only did they provide tons of valuable information, but they were also so kind and accommodating when it came to helping our group take photos, ensuring we captured all our special moments. It made the whole trip feel personal and memorable. We loved our time so much that we’re already planning to come back and book other experiences at Kualoa Ranch, and we would request Eva and Chauncey as our guides again. They made the whole adventure even more special, and I can't recommend them enough! If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, these two are the guides to have. 10/10!Written 8 March 2025
- martinafO4006GR0 contributionsThe best time with Lea, Snickers and Trooper!!Kualoa offers so many cool tours and it was difficult to pick one. We went with the horseback walking tour since it was a first for both myself and my boyfriend and we couldn't be happier! Our guide Lea was so knowledgeable and friendly, and we really enjoyed listening to the sounds of nature at the ranch. The horses are extremely well trained and need little to no guidance during the tour.Written 7 March 2025

- ShoshanaS350 contributionsFun and unique activity with gorgeous views! This was an incredible and fun activity, so unique and well worth it! I had never been on a-mountain bike, and hadn't been on a bike at all in almost 20 years, but the guide was so patient and helpful, it was no problem. She even adjusted the tour to make it a bit more advanced when she saw that my fiance and I could handle it. The stops were stunning, the stories were interesting, and it was a great way to spend 2 hours.Written 6 March 2025

We are a family of adults ranging from 20’s to 50’s and everyone had a great time! The bus Hollywood tour was friendly for those who have a harder time walking while still allowing them to see the great views and fun movie sites! Our tour guide was very fun, friendly, and knowledgeable! He did a great job making the tour fun and exciting. The best part was the view of the valley where we got to go out and get some great pictures with some movie props! It sounded cheesy to me at first but when you actually go see everything it’s pretty cool. Would highly recommend if you want to see the gorgeous views of the ranch but have a group that’s less physically active or wants a more relaxing and moderately priced activity.

When I signed up, I wondered how this would go; they emphasized that tourists should show up 45 minutes before the scheduled tour. They sent a couple of text reminders in the days leading up to the tour. When I got there, I saw why: Kualoa has many, many tours, and they all funnel through one ticket/check-in booth with three stations... which operated incredibly efficiently. I was through the line in maybe five minutes, and emerged with a physical ride ticket and clear direction on where to go and when I needed to be there.
Since I had time to kill before the tour, I went to Aunty Pat's cafe for lunch. There were loads of options, from Hawaiian, to standard cafe fare (burgers, etc.), to fresh salads. Several people had told me to get Moco Loco while on Oahu, and Aunty Pat's had it, so that's what I ordered. I thought that it was fantastic. Even though the cafe was busy, the food was cooked well (as in "with care;" i.e. none of the ingredients were noticeably over or under done). Two thumbs up to Aunty Pat's!
The tour started on time and ended up being an interesting hour and a half full of spectacular views. Kualoa's a working ranch that started branching out by serendipity. This tour provided a broad overview of both aspects of Kualoa's life.
Our guide, Ni'u (I hope I'm spelling that correctly), was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and didn't sound like she was doing her last tour of the day: energy was high. She was also attentive to each passenger who needed it.
The sites themselves had signs informing the bus which film shot at that location. Ni'u reinforced that verbally, and added tidbits to give the view some life. There were a couple of stops where we could get out and explore; some folks recreated movie scenes for their photo album.
Came away appreciating the diversity at the ranch, and understanding why Hollywood directors of photography have been interested in the place.

The tour was excellent and the ranch is beautiful. If you take Uber or Lyft to get there, you will not get them to come back and pick you up! No one told us this, and we were stuck at the end of the tour. The options were to take the city bus back to Waikiki or hop there would be room on a shuttle bus. We got lucky and fit on a shuttle bus because some other people didn’t show up. There were no guarantees to get on the shuttle and it was $30 per person. The tour was great, but please make travel arrangements before visiting.

I really don't recommend it, it was really boring. I booked the movie tour for $54 per person, which lasts 90 minutes. You drive around in a bus and pass signs saying what was filmed here. But all you see is steppe and trees. 2 footprints 👣 from Gozilla can still be seen.
There are two stops, at an old bunker and at a place where there are styrofoam skeleton parts from Kong: Skull 💀 Island. The bus driver tells a few jokes and something about the cultivation of fruit and the animals that live on the grounds. I was really disappointed...the only thing that is beautiful is the nature.

The tickets are a bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion but it’s the only way to get to see it unfortunately.
The ticket tells you to get there 45 min before which we did, there’s not much to see while you wait around so it’s just waiting it out.
We waited for our slot 3pm and then the guy comes over and says that we can’t go on that tour as the “bus is broken” and we have to wait for the next tour slot at 3:20pm so now we have to wait another 20 mins which ruined our plans for later as the next place we wanted to visit was then shut by time we got there.
So we wait another 20 mins with nothing to do in the hot weather and then we finally board the bus. When we get on the bus the driver says to those that had 3pm
Tickets “thanks for waiting there wasn’t really enough of you (7 of us) to go out at 3pm so we’ve made you wait for this tour” - NO WHERE on their site does it say this could possibly happen and it really annoyed me that the other guy lied we knew he’d lied because we saw the bus pull in and it was clearly fine and no one was checking it over.
On the bus our tour guide was very funny and friendly but spoke way too fast to the point where I had a headache and couldn’t understand a word of what he was saying.
We go around the park but the bus we’re in isn’t great for visibility you have to sort of hang out the window to see. Again he’s talking trying to tell us facts but speaking way too fast we don’t know what’s going on.
I’m not sure if I’d recommend this company or use them again to be honest the only thing they have the advantage with is owning the ranch but I’ve heard you can see similar landscapes at other locations on the island so if you’re on a budget look at alternatives.

One of the most beautiful experiences!
It's worth it and I recommend booking in advance... we booked on site the same day, there were only seats on the bus but it was much better because it was raining that day!
With the rain those places take on a different look... too beautiful!!

Visited the ranch for the Hollywood Movie Tour in May 2022 at 10am. The tour is 1.5 hours long but the ranch runs multiple tours so I’d recommend doing your research and maybe spending the day there.
We hadn’t booked to include travel (I recommend you do this!) so our hotel called and added travel/ hotel pick up which was an additional $35 per person. Pick up was at 7.30am for an arrival of approximately 9am. We were advised you can easily get a taxi there but getting back is a problem as you’re in the countryside (unless renting a car). The drive was approximately 45 minutes to the ranch.
The ranch is absolutely stunning and an absolute must see (definitely wish we have booked multiple tours to spend the day here). The check-in process is very confusing, you still need to check in at the main desk with a pre-booking and then each individual your has its own check in desk too (15 minutes before your tour start time). We were originally told that the tour does not run at 10am (despite having booked a 10am tour) only to be told there is a 10am tour. It’s not very organised so be prepared to be confused.
Despite the check in process, it’s a beautiful place and you learn history of the ranch during WWll, the owners as well as spotting famous scenes from movies/TV such as; Jurassic Park, Jumanji, Triple Frontier, LOST, Godzilla and King Kong. Bonus if your tour is scheduled during any filming productions.

I would recommend choosing a different tour experience than the Movie Sites bus tour to experience Kualoa Ranch. The movie sites weren't that interesting and it was hard to picture the movies being filmed here.
Our tour guide did great and was engaging with the material she had, but if I had my chance again I would do the Mountain Bike, ATV tour or the horseback tour to get the most out of the scenery.
Perhaps video screens showing the clips of the movies on the bus would be a suggestion?

Wanted to see where many of our favorite movies were filmed so this was fun and informative. My complaint is that we booked this a week in advance, followed the rules on HAVING to arrive 1 hr ahead of our scheduled time or the ranch could keep our money and we could forfeit our scheduled tour. Arrived at our designated (1hr ahead) time and told thanks, we can wait in the gift shop or sit in the heat for an hour. While we waited for our designated tour time in the heat, people just walked in, paid for a ticket and got on a tour before us. I understand it is not right to show up for any appt at the last minute, but being told I MUST arrive 1 hr ahead of time or potentially lose $60 a pop feels like I’m being bullied, just so the owners can fill as many seats as possible.

Kualoa Ranch is so beautiful and there's lots to do here if you have the time and the money. Though -- we did the Movie Sites Tour which I'm not sure was my favorite. The tour takes you through pretty pastures, the main valley (breathtaking), and an abandoned WWII bunker. A lot of the film displays, in the bunker and otherwise, are looking a little worse for wear, and I don't think many/any of them are authentic to the productions, instead they seem like cheaper recreations. Either way, there's many photo opportunities which makes this a good tour if you're looking for that. One thing that also felt a bit cheap was that the buses for the movie tour...have no screens.... The tour guide instead described in detail scenes that were filmed at the ranch which did not have the same effect of watching them, especially for many obscure films referenced that no one had seen. Edited film/TV compilations would add so much to this tour, but where it is right now, it's not worth the price. Beautiful valley though, hope to see the improvements made.

I'm coming to the ranch soon - has anyone done both the Jurassic Adventure Tour and Hollywood Movie Tour? I'm deciding between just doing the Hollywood Tour alone or adding the Jurassic tour, but am wondering if it's a repeat of a lot of the same sites on the Movie Tour...?

Jurassic adventure it’s longer and goes to many more sites than movies one so I would recommend the first one.

Will the tour bus stop for us to get out and take pics wherever?
I have an 8 year old autistic nephew, who is obsessed with Dinosaurs, Godzilla and Kong. He won't be coming to Hawaii with me but I'd love to be able to show him photos of me with all the different sets.

I think I took the Hollywood Tour. They definitely have stops, but they are planned stops, not wherever. My tour stopped at a couple of spots that had cool photo ops with dinosaurs or bones. I would suggest reading reviews for the tours to see which one makes most sense for you.

Does the TripAdvisor booking offer transport too? Or is this only through the Kualoa Ranch directly?

Can we book the Jurassic Adventure Tour in addition to the Hollywood Movie Tour on the same day, or is one good enough to see most sites?
Written 12 August 2022
We found the Movie Site tour was great. You see the sites of Jurassic Park, Kong Skull Island, Lost and several others. When we visited, we couldn’t book more than a few days in advance as, coming from the U.K. we had to do a Covid test the day before flying (so we didn’t know for sure that we would get to Hawaii til 24 hours before we left). That meant that the options were very limited when we booked, but we had always wanted to do the Movie Site Tour anyway. We added a tour that took us on a catamaran for an oceans view of the coast and I would also recommend that. Whatever you choose to do, you will see the main sites. Enjoy.
