    Dramatic Back Drop
Whilst the tour itself was quite good. The guides were great and were quite interactive giving very interesting information and stories about the ranch and Hawaiian history. We did however have a bad experience with the operator before the tour started. We had initially booked for 4 adults. We then had a fifth adult join our holiday so we tried booking an additional ticket. The operator refused to add an extra person to the original booking. They wanted us to book a separate ticket. We tried doing this but the operator said they don't accept single bookings and required a booking for two. Viator tried arguing our case but without success. We found this disappointing. Especially once we arrived for the tour and discovered the ATV vehicles we were allocated could accommodate atleast 5 passengers.

    Diversion from congestion of Waikiki
Provided a different view of Oahu, natural beauty versus urban congestion. The best part was the views from the mountain of the bay. It just wasn’t as adventurous as we expected. The guide did a good job of explaining something of Hawaiian history and culture and the local vegetation.

We had a lot of fun driving the trail on the raptor tour. Loved the scenery! We learned some history of the people and area as well.

    Riding through the Island
I truly can't say enough about this tour! It was amazing to just drive through the jungles of the island. It was cloudy and rainy the day we went but that did not make the experience any different. In fact, the rain made it more fun to ride in the UTV with the mud. Our guides were great. We were at the end of our group so one of the guides was behind us the whole time so we were able to ask any questions about the land or what we saw. The UTV's were easy to handle and fit four of us perfectly. We were out there every bit of the 2 hours that was sold to us!!

    Rainy :(
Unfortunately the weather was bleak and rainy, and cloud covered most of the view. Also, while the tour includes some movie sets, it was rather underwhelming. Perhaps if the weather was nicer, it may have felt different..

Good tour to see the ranch, worth the money
We have driven by here before and thought we would take a tour the next time we came to the island. They have so many different tours to choose from. We chose the UTV raptor tour. They say on the email and the confirmation to show up 45 minutes early to check in. However, when we showed up 45 minutes early at the tour check in area, they gave us a receipt and told us to check in at our designated area 15 minutes before the tour. Therefore we had 30 minutes of free time to roam around the main area there and the gift shop/café. The only reason I can think that they ask you to show up early is due to the parking. We got lucky and found the only spot in the parking lot and the very very back. We saw many other cars circling around for spots. This place is busy! They run the UTV tours every 15 minutes. The order that you check in is the order that you get assigned your place in the UTV caravan. Since we arrived so early we got in line to check in at our designated area (each tour has a different check in spot once you check in at the main tour check in spot). This starts about 15 minutes before your tour time. We handed over our receipt and we signed our waivers/who was driving and got our buffs. They provide complimentary buffs for you. We researched online ahead of time and knew that we had to wear helmets so we brought our own buffs. But this worked out because we used their buff to wear on our head under the helmet, and we used our own buff as a bandana to keep the dust out. Beware this tour is very dusty! They fit you with a helmet, and goggles if you would like (we just wore our sunglasses). You have two tour guides, one at the front and one at the back. We watched a quick safety video. Note the maximum speed is 15 miles per hour… We walked over to our UTV’s, got our picture taken, and were on our way. We started about 15 minutes past the tour start time so you ride for about 1 hour and 45 minutes out of the 2 hour time frame (plus then you have getting there 15-45 minutes early). Therefore this is a pretty big time commitment so just be aware of that. The tour itself was nice. It consisted of driving for a bit, then stopping for a break to talk about history or a movie set and take pictures. You can switch drivers at this time, or you can wait until they let you know when the half way point is since there are multiple stops. Each section of the trails was different scenery. You had the ranch scenery where it was mostly fields with cows, you had the mountain scenery, and then you had the jungle scenery. It was a wide variety of area that you cover on the ranch and it was a great way to see it all. You don’t stop at all of the movie sites though, as that is a different tour. We stopped at mostly Jurassic World movie sites, but you have an opportunity to take pictures as you go by others as a passenger. You are riding in 6 seater Kawasaki mules, but each party gets their own UTV. When you end the tour, there are some outdoor sinks available to wash up a little as again, you get dusty. However they also have the restroom in the gift shop if you need to change clothes or if you need a mirror. Overall we thought the tour was well organized and they are a well oiled machine with how they move people through the tours. If you are looking for a way to see the ranch as a whole, then this tour is for you! The only thing we would change is maybe change the maximum speed to 20 miles per hour and it would have been that much better.

Absolutely beautiful ride with amazing guides and horses!
A huge thank you to our guide Tianna. I am an experienced horse rider and have done many rides all over the world. While this is a walking only tour which can sometimes be tedious for experienced riders - Tianna still made this a fun experience. She has so much energy and passion for her role. She was calm and patient (more than I could’ve been!) with inexperienced riders. I was also incredibly impressed that she had gone to the effort to learn phrases in multiple languages that were helpful on the trail. Definitely the signs of someone who goes above and beyond for their role! She had excellent knowledge of all the horses and a great fondness and understanding of them all. She was also very knowledgeable about the land and area and gave us a lot of great information along the way. The horses are absolutely lovely I had a lovely guy named Sriracha who never put a foot wrong and my partner had Kalanakila (I’m so sorry for butchering that spelling dude!) who was a big guy with even bigger personality - we loved him! The scenery is absolutely stunning and it’s a lovely slow pace for lots of photos. Because the ride does cater to those without riding experience - you don’t get the opportunity to stop at any of the film locations to hop off or even grab mounted photos. This was a pretty clear expectation from the start so I wasn’t disappointed but it’s certainly a potential opportunity for the business. It wouldn’t be feasible with inexperienced riders but perhaps someday there will be different levels of trail rides available!

Amazing tour with an amazing guide!
Our guide Chris made this tour absolutely incredible!!! It is clear how passionate he is and how much Chris genuinely enjoys this tour. Our group had SO much fun. It is a 2.5 hour tour and it absolutely flew by. We ended up with so many amazing photos thanks to Chris and his trainee Julie. It was overall just an incredible afternoon. We were so lucky to have ended up on Chris’ tour - what an absolute delight!! The price can appear a bit daunting at first but it is a lengthy and worthwhile tour. It absolutely has been a highlight of our trip so far. We stopped at multiple memorable Jurassic stops and had plenty of time at each stop to take as many pictures as we wanted. 100% worth it. I am sure Kualoa has many amazing Jurassic Adventure guides but Chris is an absolute star - thank you for an amazing afternoon!

    Best tour
This was one of the best tours taken during our stay. This tour is scenic and fun. Tips: if your the passenger, put on a good playlist while driving through the ranch. You will get dirty, but it's worth it.

    Beautiful and fun
We had an awesome time on the ATV tour. They were easy to drive ourselves (only reach about 15 mph) and the guides and sights were excellent! It was much longer than we expected too, a little over 2 hours, which was fine with us because we were having so much fun!

The tickets are a bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion but it’s the only way to get to see it unfortunately.
The ticket tells you to get there 45 min before which we did, there’s not much to see while you wait around so it’s just waiting it out.
We waited for our slot 3pm and then the guy comes over and says that we can’t go on that tour as the “bus is broken” and we have to wait for the next tour slot at 3:20pm so now we have to wait another 20 mins which ruined our plans for later as the next place we wanted to visit was then shut by time we got there.
So we wait another 20 mins with nothing to do in the hot weather and then we finally board the bus. When we get on the bus the driver says to those that had 3pm
Tickets “thanks for waiting there wasn’t really enough of you (7 of us) to go out at 3pm so we’ve made you wait for this tour” - NO WHERE on their site does it say this could possibly happen and it really annoyed me that the other guy lied we knew he’d lied because we saw the bus pull in and it was clearly fine and no one was checking it over.
On the bus our tour guide was very funny and friendly but spoke way too fast to the point where I had a headache and couldn’t understand a word of what he was saying.
We go around the park but the bus we’re in isn’t great for visibility you have to sort of hang out the window to see. Again he’s talking trying to tell us facts but speaking way too fast we don’t know what’s going on.

I’m not sure if I’d recommend this company or use them again to be honest the only thing they have the advantage with is owning the ranch but I’ve heard you can see similar landscapes at other locations on the island so if you’re on a budget look at alternatives.

The movie sites tour was a bit of a let down for everyone in my party of 7. It's advertised as a 90min tour but our was over in about 60mins so I assume that the rest of the tour includes them advising that you arrive 30mins early.

Got distracted by the tour guide after too many "do you remember the scene in such and such movie? Well that wasn't filmed here" so now it's hard to recall what movie locations we actually saw. Also got to listen to how many times our tour guide has been an extra in a movie. If you've ever been on a movie tour before they all have the same brag story about being an extra, not relevant to tour and unsure if it was true after all the 'jokes' he came out with.

Walked through the WW2 bunker without much of an explanation or time to really look around. Not much WW2 info so it's only valuable if you want to see one scene from lost and some movie posters.

We're just glad we didn't spend the extra money on the premier tour.

Lots of other places on Oahu that look like Jurassic Park so I'd recommend you just do a drive around the island if that's what you're interested in seeing.

I was surprised at the size of the property for one.
The tour was mostly in the Ka'a'awa Valley.
I thought for sure the bus ride would be hot and dusty; due to the high temp and humidity this day, ... pleasantly surprised it wasn't.
Our tour guide / driver Stephanie was very pleasant, eager, entertaining, fun and knowledgeable. She kept the tour going in- between sites with humor and more matter-of-fact information about the property, films / shows, sites, Hawaiian History.
Over all, we had a good and fun time.
We are planning to return for a horse back trail ride in the near future.

I did this tour with my three kids ages 21-28 and it was definitely one of the highlights of our week. The ranch is very easy to find, there was plenty of parking, and check in was a breeze. While you wait for your tour there’s a gift store and small gallery to browse . The tour guide was very informative and there was enough room on the bus to social distance. Unfortunately it did rain slightly the day of our tour and we only got off the bus twice to take pictures but the sights at the bunker were absolutely breathtaking. The ranch is a very popular attraction, we tried booking 30 days in advance and all but this tour was completely booked. I would recommend researching which tour fits you or your groups interests and book early!

I am so glad this place was recommended to us. My husband and I booked the E-Bike tour. Unfortunately the island was getting hit with heavy rain but we made the most of it.
We lucked our and got a private tour! It was just me and the hubby and we are definitely more intermediate (me) and advanced (him) on bikes.
Our guide Darryl was the BEST! He was a great guide and told us all the movie and ranch facts, answered all of our questions and took some great photos for us along the way.
We made the most of the rainy conditions and embraced the fact that there was just no way to avoid the mud and rain, hey it adds to the experience!
At one point on the way back the wind and the rain were pelting us in the face I could hardly see but I was laughing at the same time, it was like being in the shower and having your face under the faucet. LOL.
Darryl even took us on the more "rugged" terrain route since he could see we were more advanced riders and it was a lot of fun.
The e-bikes were legit too. They had great suspensions on them and were really zippy. No matter what your riding level it, this is suitable for all bikers.

I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a unique and more active tour experience!

Had a fantastic time on this Hollywood tour with our guide Lani, she had us singing, laughing and telling jokes along the way. The tour flew by and we had so much fun seeing the film sites and taking some dramatic pictures. Would love to come again and see by horse as well next time as that looks just as fantastic. But thank you to Lani for taking care of us!

This is it. When on Oahu you simply have to visit the place that Hollywood dreams are made of. I booked our tickets months in advance, choose the VIP tour of course and was anxious to finally experience the site myself. Unfortunatelly i wrote down the wrong starting time. When we arrived the VIP tour had already left. A complete desaster. And yet.. the staff at the ranch took pity and tried everything to find us a spot at another tour. They found 5 available seats for a regular tour starting 90 Min. later. Saved!!! Tourguide Stephanie heard our story and enhanced the tour with so many extra infos that we still felt like a VIP. We saw filming locations of LOST, Magnum, Jurassic World, Skull Island and many many more. She explained all filming sites in depth, answered each of our fanboy questions. And made a picture of us at the Jurassic tree that has replaced our classic family portrait for all time. One look at the scene with our daughter Lea will tell you why ;-) Thank you so much for turning desaster into delight. We'll definitively be back. For a VIP-Tour with Stephanie...

My husband and I reserved this excursion weeks in advance. We were excited about seeing Jurassic Park Valley but got so much more. The mountains, valleys, forest etc was so beautiful!! Our guide took time to explain the different movie sites and we got to re-enact a movie scene and was provided the picture. It’s a very bumpy ride but we felt very safe. If you have any physical injuries that can be easily aggravated please tell the guide before you leave. They will do all they can to accommodate you. There are refreshments, picnic tables, a restaurant, horseback riding and zip lining on this 4,000 acre ranch. Book in advance. You will not be disappointed!

I would recommend choosing a different tour experience than the Movie Sites bus tour to experience Kualoa Ranch. The movie sites weren't that interesting and it was hard to picture the movies being filmed here.

Our tour guide did great and was engaging with the material she had, but if I had my chance again I would do the Mountain Bike, ATV tour or the horseback tour to get the most out of the scenery.

Perhaps video screens showing the clips of the movies on the bus would be a suggestion?

Over the course of a 4 night/5 day trip to Oahu we experienced various attractions, tours, and areas of the island and utilized the Go Oahu pass. The Kualoa Movie Sites tour was by far the highlight of the entire trip. Our tour guide, Stephanie, made the experience truly special and personal from start to finish. She had a very well prepared presentation and flow of information and gave great insight for the best photo ops, and things to pay attention to.

We learned more about Hawaii and Oahu on this movie sites tour than we did from every other part of our trip combined.

Frankly, the initial procedures for booking and using the Go Oahu pass were a headache but made worth it by Stephanie's masterful job guiding our tour. We will certainly recommend this experience if ever returning to Oahu. Thank you!!!

P.S. Stephanie, if you see this much love from Colorado! 🤙🏼

Kualoa Ranch - Hollywood Movie Sites Tour provided by Kualoa Ranch
