About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- travellingsweeties0 contributionsGreat laughs and some learning tooWe had a great experience with Abby and Lindsay. Lindsay's sense of humor really made the experience and Abby's acrobatics on the zips were inspiring. Also really cool To learn about the great work the company is doing with reforesting and conservation. Made me happy to support this zipline option.Written 31 December 2024
- WorldTraveller19940 contributionsBeautiful Haleakalā sunriseThis was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend to do this tour at least once. Our guide, Marlon, picked us up on time at 3:05 AM and drove us to the lookout point of Haleakalā to wait for the sunrise. It was VERY COLD and windy at the top. A wind-break blanket is highly recommended, along with gloves and a winter jacket. Marlon told us historical stories on the way up and down from the volcano and stopped along the way to show us rare plants and birds. After the sunrise we stopped at the Maui Plantation for breakfast (breakfast was mediocre but the scenery was wonderful). Marlon was an experienced and knowledgeable guide, he was friendly and answered all questions.Written 20 December 2024

- jimmC2991JO0 contributionsWorth every moment. Our tour guide Glenn was put on this earth for many positive things not doubt, but leading this tour is certainly one. What a pleasure. From the scenic drive up and back to the perfect little insights and the ability to answer any questions. And the photos we and he also got. Do this!!!Written 1 May 2024
- 958ashleik0 contributionsA MUST SEE ExperienceThis is definitely an experience you DO NOT want to miss! We rented a car for the week, but so glad we didn't choose to do this on our own because we would've missed out on an epic experience. Our guide, Bill, was the BEST and made sure to get us there early to get the best spot. The wind is really strong at the top, Bill knew the only spot to avoid the wind and made sure our group was there to get it. He also helped us all make a Time Lapse video of the sunrise and that is something we will have forever. He was super informative about all things Haleakala and Hawaii, and made the trip more memorable. The views are breathtaking. Dress warm! Some people brought a blanket - wish we would've thought of that. This is a MUST and we highly recommend!Written 13 June 2023
- erikalX2737JN0 contributionsZiplining with Ray and Shannon at Skyline Hawai’iAmazing views and lots of fun to be had while zip lining! Our tour guides, Ray and Shannon, were super funny and kind. In addition to zip lining, you also learn about the land and history, which our tour guides did a great job explaining.Written 16 March 2023
- cameronj9970 contributionsEverything I expected and then some!I did the haleakala zipline tour. Our guides, Ahnalee and Randell, are quite the characters and made zip lining a memorable experience and hysterical! At no point during our time were we bored because the guides kept us engages and taught us a few things about the plants and wildlife on Maui between zip lines. If they guides didnt’ sell you on booking your trip, the surreal beauty of haleakala should. It was incredible to be able to experience this phenomenal excursion and I highly recommend everyone to book with Skyline Hawaiian!Written 11 September 2022
- H6930XMjoshuag0 contributionsAwesome tour. Must doSunrise tour with breakfast. Keith was the best. Great tour, great breakfast and we were back in our condo by 9:30am to do other activities that day!Written 12 August 2022
- Bamagal890 contributionsFantastic sunrise and ziplineWe did the Haleakalā sunrise and zipline tour. The van picks you up early and they are the first buses up to the summit so you can get a front row view of the sunrise. Lunch was decent (wraps/salad). The zipline course is very well done and the guides are great. The only improvement would be to serve coffee in the morning on the bus/at the summit.Written 29 July 2022
- loriem2900 contributionsSunrise above the cloudsWaking up in the middle of the night was definitely worth it when seeing the sun rise. The jackets that were provided were much appreciated as it is very chilly at the top of the mountain. Our tour guide was Glenn who gave great information, told very interesting stories and was a great driver. We stopped for breakfast on the way home and got to check out a cool gift shop also. We loved having Glenn as our tour guide as we got to the top at a perfect time before it got crowded so we had a spot right at the railing! I recommend doing this trip and if you do Glenn is the tour guide you need!Written 27 May 2022
- dotdoctor20020 contributionsHere comes the Sun!!Booked Sunrise at Haleakala tour for 5/2....1st. the company contacted me 3 days before to ask if we required jackets and they would provide if so...and YES you need them!!! 2nd they texted @ 2am to state when the driver would arrive and texted again right before pickup. Great customer service on their part.Victoria was the jacket call and later met Paige who was working nights w/the texts. Glenn (with 2 NN's as he kept reminding us) was the driver. If you book the trip ask for him. To get up as early as he does and is able to tell stories about how he ended up on the Islands from Connecticut (which are interesting and funny) to the history of what your about to see and experience made the trip. Believe me to do what he does is not easy. As far as the sunrise i wish you a better day then we had.It was cloudy and did not get to experience the wonder of the full sun coming up. That said it still was spectacular!!!! Just watch as little bit of light takes over the morning sky to beautiful!!! You get to stay there for an hour or so before you have to leave, and if you didn't appreciate Glenn (w/2 NN's) before you will when you see the road he drove up in the dark w/little or no guardrails. The company provide breakfast at a local spot so you are not starving at the end of the trip. you get back my 10am which may be a full day already but you do have a full day to swim or sleep on the beach. It's a must do and i will try it again i hope w/o clouds but i will ask for Glenn!!!!Written 16 May 2022
- Allanah12340 contributionsDo It!So much fun. Kevin and Mia our guides were entertaining on the zipline, making the wait between zips not boring or long at all. Worth the 3am wait to see the sunrise. So beautiful.Written 6 January 2022
- Reem K0 contributionsTerrible serviceTraining their staff to be nice and use logic. We booked through the staff at our hotel and woke up at 2:30 to make it to the 3:30 pick up. The dispatcher and bus driver decided not to let us in with our tickets in hand showing the date and time I was standing with a teenager just in awe on how can this happen and her advice to call costumer service which won’t open till 8AM. Then I got a call from the manager of reservations offering me 50% off for next time I book! He didn’t help get me and my kid get the experience that we didn’t get nor to mention compensating for the frustrating experience we had ! I heard so many awful stories from other visitors in the Hyatt about this company! Don’t book with them, you’ll be disappointed and they won’t care for you If there’s a zero star I would have given ryan that. They ruined the end of Christians vacation that was amazing. If you books snorkeling book Terlani the staff is awesome -Written 25 December 2021
- Flyer179089606240 contributionsBucket list itemIt was so convenient to have someone drive to the top of Haleakala in the middle of the night. Our tour guide, Keith, was great! We were thankful for the warm jackets. The stars and sunrise were absolutely stunning. The breakfast has terrific views as well. Highly recommend!Written 10 November 2021
- AlikaTheGreat0 contributionsThank you, Trevor!Amazing experience, start to finish. Trevor was our Guide and he’s awesome! Thank you, Trevor! He made sure we were all comfortable and kept us entertained as he engaged with the group. It’s all about the journey and he made it a great one, talking story with us and enlightening the group with history and culture. Trevor is quite knowledgeable and we appreciate him sharing that with everyone. At the top, he provided us with our correctly sized jackets and a flashlight - it was cold but luckily wasn’t windy. Our time up there was incredible! So many stars, constellations and shooting stars were clearly visible. Such a spiritual experience to watch as the sun rose above the clouds. Breakfast was delicious! And that view… can’t beat it. We loved Kula Lodge! Our overall experience was outstanding and we will be recommending this to everyone!Written 15 October 2021

We did the Haleakala sunrise tour and had Keith as our tour guide. Everything about this experience was incredible, from communication leading up to the tour, our guide, and the experience as a whole.
To start, initially we planning to do the sunrise as DIY but as our trip to Hawaii got closer we realized getting self entry tickets to the park for sunrise was near impossible. All the tours we looked for were sold out but Skyline put me on a “wait list” incase other tour bookers cancelled. Two days before our trip we were lucky and got the call that they had some cancellations and could put us on one of the tours for the day we wanted.
The day before the trip the company called again to confirm our reservation details. They let me know they could pick us up from our condo if we wanted rather than going to one of the park and rides which was a huge relief! The morning of the sunrise tour the company sent me updated ETAs for when the bus would be arriving to pick us up so we didn’t have to wait outside at 130 am with no idea of how long it would take, We instead got the comfort of waiting in our condo and getting a text when our stop was next, so we only had to wait out for about 5 minutes after the text.
During the whole tour Keith got to know everyone who boarded, added a ton of amazing commentary about the tour, but also provided a ton of other recommendations of things to do and see while in Maui, including tips for getting a head of the crowd when we were going snorkeling and also going to do the road to Hana later in the week.
This review could go on for ever with positive feedback so I’ll stop with those highlights. If you have an opportunity to book a tour with this company I highly

The entire tour was such an incredible experience. The summit is extremely cold, so be sure to bring layers of clothes and jackets, gloves, blankets, skullcaps, and anything else that would help you keep warm as you wait for the sunrise.
Our tour guide was Trevor, and he was exceptional! Very knowledgeable and helpful and did a fantastic job of looking out for everyone. He kept us all informed and entertained throughout the journey, with commentary on our surroundings and some interesting stories and jokes along the way. I learned a great deal during this journey. Thank you Trevor!
All in all it was a great experience which I would highly recommend.

I’m writing this review as I’m leaving Hawaii. Due to COVID, all tours were booked & was not able to find a parking spot in the park to drive up there. We inquired about tours to another tourist & he informed us about Sky line. I’m so glad I checked online & was able to find spots available on last day of our trip.
Glenn was our tour guide. He was very pleasant & entertaining. We were picked & dropped off on time. Our hotel was on most north west end of the Maui island but hotel pick & drop off was offered. Sunrise experience was outstanding & Glenn made it comfortable by providing jackets (no extra charge). On our way back, stopped at a beautiful lodge over the mountains for breakfast. At the end Glenn offered his cell phone number if anyone was interested in getting best images of Sunrise if in case they did not click good images while enjoying the view.
I absolutely recommend Ski Line tours. Mahalo!

Of all our activities during our stay in Maui this was my favorite! You have to do it at least once in your life. Keith, our driver and tour guide was very fun and had quite a vast knowledge of Maui and of Haleakala in particular. He made the ride very entertaining and educational! If you’re like me and you’re prone to motion sickness be sure to take Dramamine prior to the drive. As with most mountain rides there are a lot of switchbacks and twists and turns on the journey up towards the Haleakala observation area. Keith got us up there early enough so we could see all the stars in the sky! We even saw a few meteorites....but the beautiful rising sun over the cloud-filled crater stole the show! On the way back we had a nice breakfast at a local restaurant (if you get pancakes make sure to ask for the coconut syrup). It was a really great excursion!

My husband and I took the Haleakala National Park Sunrise Tour with Skyline Hawaii, and it was absolutely incredible. Being able to see the sunrise over a volcano was truly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Our tour guide, Keith, was also great! He was friendly, extremely knowledgable, and a great driver, which is particularly important when you’re driving up a mountain in the middle of the night. The restaurant we stopped at for breakfast after the sunrise had delicious food and offered beautiful views. This tour was worth every penny, and I highly recommend it!

I'm so glad I did this! I was traveling solo so a group tour was very appealing and did not disappoint. Caroline was an excellent guide, providing lots of good information but also being quiet at the right times. I love that they provided loaner jackets to wear at the summit, sine it was about 35F/1C degrees. Tour company even called to confirm jacket size the day before. Pick up from my hotel was on time (yes, at 2am!) and the vehicle was a good size for the group of about 20 people. Breakfast on the way back was very good in a beautiful setting (I had the macadamia nut pancakes). Since I think there is a limit how how many vehicles/people can go up and see the sunrise, I highly recommend taking a group tour - no worries about getting in, good commentary/information, good breakfast, no need to bring your own winter gear. ;-)

This was an awesome way to get to the top of Haleakala for an amazing sunrise. The tour arrives at the top a little early, giving you an opportunity to get a front row spot on the rail overlooking the crater before the masses arrive. Our tour guide Keith was amazing. He’s been a Hawaii resident for many years and shared many interesting, informative and sometimes funny stories regarding Haleakala, Maui and Hawaii in general. The only suggestion I would have is to skip the stop at the Kula Lodge on the return trip. The breakfast was average and my preference would be to have that hour back in your day for other Maui activities.

Glenn is a fantastic tour guide. He was engaging and knew so many fun facts. He also has a great sense of humor. We were unlucky at seeing a clear sunrise due to heavy cloud cover but that is to be expected since it is nature it happens but it was still enjoyable because of Glenn.
I highly recommend you remember to bring winter ready touchscreen gloves. We were provided jackets which were lifesavers (arranged when booking through hotel) and blankets (hotel provided so bring your own if your hotel doesn’t provide that).
I also recommend bringing snacks especially for Vegans/Vegetarians. The veg option for breakfast at the Cafe O’lei at the Plantation was subpar non-local fruit (my first plate before the restaurant promptly swapped it after i asked had mold on the grapes and a rotten watermelon) but that’s not any fault of Skyline.

We did the sunrise tour with breakfast. They picked us up at 240a from our VROB and we picked up a few more people before arriving at their main office. At the office they served coffee with fruit and pastries which honestly were not great but good enough for a little morning pick me up. The staff was awesome with answering questions and getting us heavy coats for the cold weather at the top of mountain. It is really cold so wear warm things like pants, socks and sweatshirts. We hung in van until right before the sunrise and chatted with some of the staff. It’s very busy at top watching the sunrise but awesome to see the sunrise on one side and the moon setting on the other. On the way down mountain the driver told us some good local information. We had breakfast at a restaurant which was good. If we would ever do it again or if you rented a car I would suggest to drive yourself as it would save you a few hours since the van goes to pick up multiple people and slow ride home. But if you don’t have transportation this is how to go, and all the staff was amazing

We woke up at 1:30am for this experience and it was better than I could have ever imagined. Our tour guide, Bill was amazing. If you get him, ask him about iPhones and time lapse photography for the sunrise. He’s super knowledgeable and had great stories. He kept us engaged and entertained. Thank you Bill for the laughs!
If you are from the mainland book this tour for the night of your arrival. It may sound crazy, but with the time change it works. We arrived on a Wednesday and the tour picked us up on Thursday morning. By the time we returned, lounged on the beach, ate dinner, it was time to get much needed rest.

We are interested in booking this attraction, but am unsure what specific "date" to type in with the 3am pick up time. Would we type in the actual correct time/date, (for example, if we wanted to go after Wednesday night 29th, select Thursday, Aug. 30th since it will technically be Thursday at 3am? Basically just wondering correct way to select actual date due to 3am pick up and want to avoid any booking confusion.
Thank you!
Thank you!
