Most adrenaline pumped epic moment of our trip!
Thank you Ali and Naomi for the time of our lives. Thank you Shawna for capturing it all! Our 2nd time rappelling, our first time in a waterfall! The encouragement that these ladies gave to convince us each was amazing. They showed up with great energy and gave us a trip of a lifetime! Waterfall rappelling! Best way to see a waterfall is to rappel in a waterfall! I would do this again for sure. You ladies have raised the bar! Thank you again!

      Highly recommended
Abbie and Naomi were phenomenal guides. They were entertaining, knowledgeable and easy going. They are super talented. Also, fortunate for us, Shauna joined as a photographer and we got wonderful pictures of this adventure. Rappelling Maui is highly recommended.

Fun, Fun, and more Fun with Tim&Chance!
This place is a must see, if you’re on vacation in Maui! Our guide, Tim was amazing, extremely informative, knowledgeable, great conversationalist, remembered everyone’s name, fun, outgoing, and made our trip that much more fun! Chance, Rick, and Austie were just as amazing! Chance played some great Hawaiian music while ensuring our safety at the bottom of every rappel. He also communicated the weather conditions to Tim to ensure our safety after every trip down the mountain. Rick from Boston is a great driver, a true Bostonian, who made us Massachusetts Minutemen/woman feel at home. Austie (Austrie, sorry if I’m pronouncing it incorrectly) assisted us with all our equipment and helped drive us up the mountain in an ATV. Their are approximately six rappels and a walk across a suspension bridge. This is an experience my wife and I will remember for a life time! Tim, took great pictures for us and had us all laughing the whole trip! “Happy Birthday my brother from Texas, hope you had a blast on your special night”!Thank You a million times to the whole staff, from the friendly woman who assisted us upon our arrival to the friendly young lady who drove us up the mountain in the ATV. We appreciate all our your hard work and professionalism to make a hard job look easy and in the process ensure families an amazing time! Mahalo!🤙🏼

      Excellent Rappel Experience
Ropheka and Clint were excellent rappel instructors. They made our rappel experience, safe, and amazing! We would 100% recommend them and this rappel company. It is a must do. Truly our favorite thing we did in Maui.

      Unique
Rappel Maui was awesome. Both of us are athletes and it was thrilling but also one of the more difficult excursions we did. The guides were great and being able to see and swim in the waterfalls and pools was amazing.

      Highlight of Our Trip
Rappel Maui was easily one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were awesome and made the entire trip easier. We rappelled down and swam in private waterfalls. You won’t regret this tour.

      Amazing Experience!
We booked this excursion while in Maui with our 2 teenagers and it won’t disappoint. The scenery is gorgeous and the guides were very safe but they let you experience the adventure. It was probably one of my favorite things we’ve done on a trip in a long time. Being able to rappel down and jump into a pool from a raging waterfall was amazing. Chris who handled the booking was great and Mike and Anne our guides were top notch. I highly recommend this experience but for teenagers on up.

Never Done Anything Like This Before So Glad I Did
What an exhilarating 3 hours. Alba and Elena were our guides. They were super. They explained everything clearly of what to do and what not to do. They are all about safety and I felt super safe with them. And even in the moments panic or when I felt unsure they guided and cheered me on the whole way down, Always reassuring us. The waterfalls were amazing. The only time I ever was afraid of injuring myself was walking thru the water. The rocks can be slippery. Not sure if you have to be super physically fit but you do need to be able to hike back up thru some narrow paths to the starting area. This is an experience worth trying. Just step out of that comfort zone like I did and go for it.

      Not Enough Info on Website
While we were able to get a refund, our limited time in Maui was planned around this event. It is very disappointing that no mention of any issues/warnings about what conditions would not allow us to go. My husband has a pace maker and although his Dr told him he has absolutely no restrictions in his life, he was denied going on the rappelling part of the tour so we of course didn't go. Very sad not only that we couldn’t go, but we could have planned something else instead.

      Awesome!!!!
I’ve had the pleasure of doing a waterfall rappel before but I have to say, this one was by far the best! Emily and Isaac were excellent guides and the rush of going rappelling down a waterfall is difficult to explain. DO IT!!

      Do Go Chasing Waterfalls
This was such a fun and unique experience, our group loved it. I'll start by saying that I have a fear of heights so to say I was a bit nervous is an understatement. Our guides, Kevin and Elena, did a great job of explaining everything and keeping the mood fun and light. We did a total of 3 rappels. The first rappel was a practice rappel on a dry cliff. This is where we learned "the ropes" and gained a bit of confidence working our way down the cliff. The first step was scary but once I got going, I started to feel comfortable. The second and third rappels were down the waterfalls, each one landing you in a pool of water. Since it was January, the water was super cold but actually felt refreshing (must've been the nerves). After the final rappel, we headed back up to the starting point for a really tasty lunch. Even if you have a fear of heights, do not let it deter you from this experience. I loved it despite my fear of heights and would do this again in a heartbeat. Mahalo for such a fun experience!

BEST part of our Hawaiian vacation
This was WAY outside my comfort zone and I never would have had the courage to take the first step if Anne and Logan were not there to assure me all would be okay. This is a great adventure and something everyone should try. Most of my friends and family cannot believe we did this but it was the best part of our Hawaiian vacation and I'm proud of all of us for taking the leap of faith.

      Best Activity on Maui
We knew Rappel Maui sounded fun, and looked awesome, but really weren’t sure what we were in for and if I can sum it up briefly, IT IS THE BEST ACTIVITY YOU CAN FIND ON MAUI!!. We are reasonably active middle-agers with kids 20 and 18. None of us has ever rappelled. Our guides Elena and Logan were incredibly knowledgeable and made us comfortable and confident to really enjoy the experience. The experience being: rappelling several times down sheer-face bluffs literally next to a waterfall, into a pool while surrounded by lush vegetation in a private area near the Garden of Eden on the Road to Hana. Nice little way to spend a Thursday. Even if you are the most inexperienced rappelers (we were), it’s quick to pick up, and the guides are awesome. Enjoy!

Rappel Maui was a lot of fun and our two guides were great (unfortunately forgetting their names, two awesome women). My boyfriend was extremely nervous to rappel but by the end of the 2nd waterfall, he loved it! The guides make you feel very comfortable and safe. I would give 5 stars, but we both wished there was at least one more rappel (we did 3 total), but that also would make it over 3 hours, so it depends what kind of time you want to spend doing it. We wanted more but also wanted to get started on the rest of the road to Hana since we planned for that the rest of the afternoon. (Side note, if you are planning on road to Hana in the same day, we did not make it to the 7 sacred pools because we decided that we didn’t have enough time to get there and enjoy it by 5pm when they closed…I might recommend doing road to Hana a different day so you can start earlier and have more time).

This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it. Let me start off by thanking Debbie and Taylor for being the amazing guides that made this top notch. They were so full of interesting history and information regarding the sights we saw on the way and of Maui in general it made for an enjoyable trip. They also offered everyone ginger candy to help with motion sickness on the twisty road. They explained everything very well and one of them always went down first and the other was last. It is such an adrenaline rush to go backwards over the side of a cliff! Debbie and Taylor made everyone (there were a total of 8 people, us another couple and a family; 2 adults 2 kids 14 & 10 yo) feel safe (my boyfriend is terrified of heights but agreed to go with me and he was so glad he did) The first one is dry and the other 2 are actual waterfalls. I have to mention the area, it is so beautiful and there were no other people around. After the second rappel it was so nice to sit on the boulders and look at the scenery. After the final rappel we hiked back up to where we started and there was lunch waiting for us. Turkey or roast beef wraps, bottled water, cookies and Maui Gold pineapple, the BEST pineapple I have ever had! After we ate they gave us time to check out Garden of Eden Botanical Park which is lovely and has a great view of the last waterfall you rappel down and a distant but pretty view of the ocean. We had so much fun and plan on doing this again next time maybe with the zip line added.

Aloha! What a treat to hear from you. Mahalo for your thoughts. We look forward to guiding you again, and are pleased to hear that you're ready to take on the Extended Tour experience. It truly is a unique Maui activity, and it's so satisfying to know you appreciated it. A hui hou!

From the moment I booked the experience, the communication was great. The team made sure we had the directions before we would lose reception and reached out via text to answer any questions we may have had.

We found the site with no problem and with a bit of time to spare. Note that when you arrive at the Garden of Eden location, the guard gate has a little bit of a wait as the guard has to give a lot of information to the people there for the gardens. If there are a few cars in front of you, it’s going to take a few minutes, so leave a bit of extra time before your 15 minute prior to the tour call time.

We were greeted by two of the 3 guides and were made to feel super comfortable. Elena and Naomi led us to get geared up and introduced us to Shauna. This team could not have been better! We all felt completely safe the whole time and the amount of patient coaching Elena gave everyone at the top was extraordinary. She then passed each client off into the safety and encouragement of Naomi. Shauna entertained us with her jokes and shared lots of information about the local vegetation and waterfalls, and she took amazing photographs of everyone on the tour.

I would recommend this tour to everyone who visits Maui. It was well worth the drive from where we stayed on the other side of the island. Our teenagers didn’t complain once and they both had a great time—no small feat for any tour!

Wow!!! We had the best time ever!! Rappel Maui hosts this activity inside the “Garden of Eden” off of the Road To Hana.
Naomi and Sam, our guides, met up with us at the entrance and directed us to Rappel Maui’s parking lot. A short walk from the lot was an outpost where we were fitted for the rappeling gear and we were able to use the restroom there. Our gear consisted of helmets, life jackets, harnesses, and water booties that have the best grip ever!! Just wear clothing that can easily dry. From the equipment area, we did a short hike down the hill. We had a group of 4 (2 couples) and we went through the rappels pretty quickly so we were able to do a 4th bonus rappel. The rappelling was such a fun adrenaline rush! Sam and Naomi were very friendly, positive, helpful, and supportive. We felt very safe with them. We had the waterfalls to ourselves and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Also loved how we were able to eat some fresh lilikoi off of the trees! I appreciated that we were given bottled water and some snacks at the end of the activity.
Shauna was our photographer and a full photo package can be purchased for $35 per person. The photo package can be paid for by cash or Venmo. Tips can be given by cash or Venmo as well. The internet reception is spotty, so bringing cash would probably be best or you can Venmo them once you get reception near Paia. I would definitely recommend Rappel Maui to my family and friends!!

This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it for someone seeking a unique and thrilling adventure. Our guides Anne, Abbie, and Luke were friendly and funny, very knowlegable and patient. They were our cheerleaders and went the extra mile to make sure everyone felt incredibly safe while having a great time. It was challenging but so worth the feeling of accomplishment and excitement! The waterfalls and the hike were some of the most beautiful sites we saw the whole day and it was great to swim in the pools.
Leave yourself extra time to get there and to get through the entrance gate. Also, if you are doing the rest of the Road to Hana that day, this activity does eat up a lot of time and we rushed through some of the other stops.

The staff was great, very informative, and made this a fun experience. The tour itself is very short, we finished in about... 1hr which is a bit sad. Other canyoneering/rappelling tours were 4+ hour experiences, so we didn’t feel like we got a good bang for our buck.

We had an amazing time with Naomi, Ropheka and the rest of the Rappel Maui crew. We had a group of 8 rappel during the 1pm slot. They took us down 3 lines — a practice line, the signature waterfall (100 ft plus) and then a smaller waterfall (maybe 30 ft). They gave us all the instruction we needed. My teenage kids had never rappelled before and they picked it up right away. Ropheka and Naomi also expertly handled our youngest who was scared out of her mind, getting her down the largest waterfall with ease. It’s definitely scary if you’ve never done it before, but I always felt safe in their capable hands.

I would highly recommend this adventure. It’s one of the few on the road to Hana where you aren’t surrounded by 100s of other tourists. It’s as if you’ve got your own private waterfalls and swim areas during the 3 hours. It’s located in the Garden of Eden which is beautiful in and of itself. Definitely leave some time at the end to explore the grounds.

Getting there isn’t too tricky. You have to drive yourself about 10 miles on the road to Hana. Those 10 miles include lots of one lane bridges and hairpin turns. We had a massive minivan and we’re fine. Just take it slow.

Definitely bring a towel — the water is ice cold! They give you waterproof packs for phone, which you want to bring for pictures. They also lock up everything else for you. Make sure you bring an extra set of clothes too.

There is a food truck there that served hot dogs and sausages. They also provide water bottles and small snacks.

We had another exceptional experience at Rappel Maui! This is our second time booking this experience and it was awe-inspiring and amazing again! Our guides Shauna and Naomi were awesome! We had a group of 7 family members ranging from age 12 to 50 years old. Three members of the group were new to the experience. Shauna and Naomi did a great job teaching everyone how to use the gear, proper rappelling technique and they were both very safety-minded. Even though 4 of us had rappelled before, it was still scary for us during the initial transition coming over the top of the falls and our guides were wonderful at talking each of us through it, helping us to feel calm and capable. Shauna was also wonderful to the grandparents that were there with us but not rappelling. She showed them a spot they could view us from and they were able to see us all rappel down the last waterfall! It is just such an incredible experience to rappel down a cliff in a waterfall! Highly recommend this experience!

This was One of the best things I did in Maui. It was so much fun. The guides Deacon and Abbie were fantastic. There was one in the party who was a bit hesitant but they were very patient coaching them and they made through the entire course. We were cheering each other on and it was great fun.

This was a great trip filled with beautiful sights and fun adventures. The family loved it and everyone was entertained. The only downside was that we would have loved more waterfalls. We were just getting the hang of it when it was over. The only warning for others is to allow enough time to get there, and also anticipate a slow, long line to get into the park - we were very late because we didn't anticipate the traffic on the way out and also getting past the gate.
