Your guide will take you to visit the highlights of the collection, housed in a massive building that covers the area of 18 football fields. Gaze into the world-famous Hope Diamond, whose brilliant blue sparkle, and immodest size at 46 karats, captured the attention of former owner Marie Antoinette. Wander through the displays of gems and minerals, including the Dom Pedro Aquamarine, the world’s largest gem of its type, which glows brilliantly from within. Travel back in time to learn about death rituals while exploring real mummies from Ancient Egypt. Then step out of the past into the wild, exploring the mighty polar bears, elephants, and giraffes that roam across earth’s surface. From the land, jump into the sea at the Ocean Hall, where you’ll discover a live coral reef exhibit as well as a 45-ton whale, Phoenix, which is a replica of a real living what that the museum tracks. By the end, you’ll understand why so many people come to visit the 126.5 million artefacts housed at the National Museum of Natural History.

      Our Guide was Awesome!
Fantastic experience and our guide was incredible! She was able to tell us nuisances about the displays that are not generally known which made it an even better adventure. A truly great experience for the family.

The tour was great! Kate was an exceptional guide!
Our Guide Kate took us through the capitol hill tour and she was fantastic! She shared information and insights that we would have never known but for her. It was an experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives! Even though I fell on the stairs of the library of congress, it didn't dampen the experience for us. Thank you Kate and Babylon Tours of DC

The best way to see the National Gallery
Amanda was an excellent guide. It was amazing how much of the gallery we were able to cover. She made sure we saw any particular works we wanted to see. It’s obvious that she is passionate about art.

Great Tour Guide Brings Exhibits To Life
We were in DC for a very short amount of time, but my family wanted to see as much as we could while we were there. I found this tour through Viator and I’m so glad I did. Our tour guide, Maureen, was just fabulous and with her we were able to see and (most importantly) understand what we were seeing in an efficient manner. This tour allows you to skip the often VERY long line for entrance to the museum and your tour guide takes you through the major exhibits in two hours. Then when you’re done with the tour, you can stay in the museum for as long as you like (and as long as the museum is still open) to see any exhibits you didn’t see with your guide or examine any exhibits you’ve already seen for longer. A personal highlight for me was getting a real deep dive into the Wright Brothers’ story and my husband loved seeing the Apollo archives. Maureen’s passion for the museum shined through everything she shared and made the time fly by. We were worried about our kids’ ability to stay focused on the tour for two hours, but Maureen included them in every conversation and my eleven-year-old said afterwards that the tour felt way shorter than two hours! The tour is a bit on the pricey side, but it’s worth it if you only have a short window of time or if you prefer having someone walk you through what you’re seeing to place the archive in context.

Excellent visit to American History Museum
Brenda was absolutely excellent! An incredible wrath of knowledge delivered in an engaging and interactive way. She was endlessly flexible when my teenagers wandered off, digging deeply into areas of history that the adults wanted and provided a wonderful 2+ hour experience. The time flew by! I will definitely request her on future visits!

      So worth the money!
Ryan was a very knowledgeable and engaging guide! Also, he was able to maneuver the group around a very crowded museum! We don’t think we would have learned half of what we learned from his tour!

Great tour in 2+ hours of American history
We signed up for a semi-private group tour and ended up getting a private on of our own history tour with Kate (other family didn’t join). It was informative and interesting. Kate kept our kids engaged and covered all the highlights. Well worth the time and $$.

Donna was amazing. Even though lines were horribly long she knew which entrance moved faster to get us inside. She was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much because of her - and also were able to maximize our time at the museum. If I had more time in DC I would request her as a guide here and anywhere else!

Rebecca (our guide) was OUTSTANDING! From beginning to end, she kept two 10-yr old young ladies mesmerized. She let them direct what they wanted to see, provided terrific information, somehow managing to cover much of the entire Natural History Museum in 2 hrs. She’s a natural born Pied Piper and we would recommend her to EVERYONE - but especially families w young kids. Couldn’t be happier. The price of the tour (which was not cheap) was worth every penny.

We have visited this Museum before but never with a private guide. Totally worth the investment - Our guide Richard T Robinson III made the experience beyond memorable. In 2.5 hours he not only showed us highlights of the entire museum, he told us the magical stories behind each wing. The amazing and infamous origins of many of the treasures and the people behind the exhibits. To say he did his homework is an understatement and the kindness, humor and attention he paid to our group will never be forgotten. We enjoyed two national treasures today - The Smithsonian and our tour guide Richard- Thank you Babylon.

Guide Donna did a phenomenal job! She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the museum ... and made the most out our 2-hour tour. She kept us moving quickly but shared lots of great information about the highlights of the Natural History Museum. Donna also navigated expertly to keep us ahead of the crowds. It was nice that she customized the tour for the specific interests of our group.

Guide Donna absolutely enhanced our experience of this museum ... I wish we had booked her for every museum we visited in DC! She offered great suggestions for other museums and logistics.

Babylon Tours was professional and did not cancel our full tour at the last minute, like USA Tours did for our bucket-list tour to Mount Vernon.

We had the pleasure of experiencing Mareen's guided tour at the Natural History Museum, and it was truly exceptional. Mareen's wealth of knowledge and her ability to breathe life into the museum's displays with fascinating historical stories made the visit an absolute delight. She effortlessly led us through the vast museum, making the most of our time with her efficient guidance. Thanks to Mareen, our museum visit was not only informative but also incredibly enjoyable. I highly recommend her tours for anyone looking to make the most of their museum

Richard did the impossible! He guided a group of six, including grandparents, parents and young children, through the museum highlights with interesting and informative commentary that held the attention of all. Any one of us could go back now for an in depth visit to any area of particular interest, having had a perfect introduction and overview.

We had an excellent experience and a wonderful time on this tour. Our tour guide, Richard T. Robinson III, went above and beyond delivering outstanding customer service by answer any questions and by also going into detail and talking about important facts and displays. Made it such a friendly environment and made the whole tour enjoyable. 10/10 experience!
