About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- GrandTour648126843300 contributionsBetter than Postojna! An incredible experience given it's largely unspoilt presentation - you walk the tour rather than sit on a train. HOWEVER, be aware although many of the pathways are laid concrete, there are still a lot of steps to negotiate, so anybody with mobility issues will struggle, which is when Postojna wins. No photos can be taken (stated reason is to prevent algae growth from artificial light, but I believe it is to keep the groups moving and not have selfie-traffic jams!). Amazing to see the original steps and walkways carved out of the cave walls 100 years ago. Just imagining what those early explorer/tourists could see back then was mind-blowing. Advised to arrive early before scheduled tour start, but many still turned up after kick-off and were able to join OK. Groups are split into smaller Slovenian, Italian & English speaking groups (maybe more in high season). At the end of the cave tour, you can witness the chaos picture taking has on the cohesion of the groups! Souvenir shop has some really good guide books with stunning photos for €5 in many languages, so no need to fret on missing those pics. Fantastic day out, tour lasts approx 90 mins and tour guide is happy to take numerous questions at the many narrative points. Total underground distance is about 2km and at no time was it claustrophobic as ceilings and walkways are tall and wide. Smallest is 100m section at start. Even in winter, temp was about 10C; you will get dripped on, but not soaked, so waterproofs not necessary, but good footwear is! Enjoy, best €16 ever spent!Written 6 January 2024
- 007aco0070 contributionsA unique placeUNIQUE :) I visited Skocjan Caves and it is a wonderful experience! wear confotable shoes and explore the longer trail! It is not so croweded as Postojna Caves (which are also worth the visit)Written 17 August 2023
- David F0 contributionsA must see natural treasure!Phenomenal natural wonders and beauty! You shouldn't miss the 75 minute guided tour into the bowels of this amazing cavern. Do not expect to take your own photographs or videos - as a FYI.Written 6 June 2023
- Compass7045160 contributionsHoliday HeavenThe old town in Piran well worth visiting. Very quiet town with a lot of history & great restaurants. Portoroz is far more vibrant & commercialised a town with great beachesWritten 7 September 2022
- Discover7002170 contributionsTerrific Guide to Lovely Coast of SloveniaWonderful driver with great information on the history of Slovenia. Turned out it was just my wife and I due to cancellations which was nice. We opted not to take free time in a tourist area, so he took us up to wine country for a tasting. Great fun.Written 31 May 2022
- Misssuzan0 contributionsThe Falls was a nice surpriseMilo was a wonderful driver/guide/hiker. Milo was so informative and interesting to speak with. We actually spent two tours with him and we were happy to see him again for the second one. He was able to tailor this tour to our interests which was really nice. We stopped by Lake Bohinj which is absolutely beautiful and was able to take all the photos we wanted and did a short stop to Lake Bled (because we had another tour to that later) and then took a nice hike to the waterfall. Milo was patient and in better shape than the rest of us (he did that hike without even getting winded) and waited as we did photos and got a little drink as we all chatted. He gave us so much info on the things we were seeing. It was such a pleasure to take this tour with this guide. Would definitely recommend this tourWritten 19 May 2022
- Spring19630 contributionsLjubljana day tripA day trip from our cruise with Celebrity Cruises. The trip was from Koper a short 90 mins away. The capital was very interesting to go round with our informative guide. The samples of wine and salted chocolate went down a treat. Will have to come back again in the future.Written 9 October 2019
- LesD8900 contributionsVery interesting visit to the Mercury mineWe did a half day trip to visit Idrija which is really the Mercury mine. It is very good with a very informative guide. You spend about 1.5 hours in the underground mine, you get a helmet and overalls to protect you. I would recommend doing this visit although maybe better time management if combined with trip to Postojna caves which aren’t very far from Idrija.Written 27 July 2019
- Drgole0 contributionsFAMOUS DESSERTWe left Portoroz, which is on the west coast, and drove to Lake Bled on the way to Ljubljana. It was raining lightly during the first week in May. Our guide took us to Vila Bled for their famous cream cake and coffee. The portions are very generous so you can share. After the rain subsided we had an opportunity to go outside on the patio to get some pictures of the castle, the island with the church, the boats that take you to the island, and the people with umbrellas waiting for the next boat. It is a picturesque location. We can say we were there. Then it started rising again and we were on our way.Written 2 June 2019

- duokorp0 contributionsExcellent walking Tour with a great host.We met Milan, our host , on the morning of the tour at an easy location. It was out of season, but still were they prepared to take us on the walking tour. Milan, a local guide is very proud of his city and took us on a extensive tour of Ljubljana. He loves his city and give us a lot of information, from the past to the present. He answered all our questions and also helped us with extra sightseeing and restaurants. The tour is only 2 hours and is a must for everybody who wants to know a bit of the background of Ljubljana and experience the city.Written 2 April 2019
- whatsername6250 contributionsNever even had a chanceI booked this trip through Viator, I understood that there are minimums that needed to be met and I was travelling solo. So I had Viator had call several tour providers to ensure that I made the best choice since I was travelling on December 24th, which was not a very popular date. Before I booked, I asked that should no one else book the same tour that there would be an alternative option for that date. I was ensured by viator and the tour provider that if the tour is cancelled due to not meeting the minimum, I would then be charged double for the trip for the same day. I was satisfied with this and very much looking forward to it. On Friday December 21st, as I am about to board a flight I was emailed a cancellation and the only alternative option was a date that I was no longer in Slovenia. The disappointing part is that the tour was quick to guarantee me service when they wanted my business but with very little notice they cancelled on me. If it were transparent from the beginning I would've kept looking for other options. But I trusted them. The tour provider rudely indicated that they had given me plenty of notice (the Friday before a Monday trip!!). All in all, I'm glad it didn't work out because I ended up doing it through public transport which cost me less than 15 Euros roundtrip!! The bus station is right in the center of Ljubljana, the bus leaves you right at the lake, I walked around, rode a plenta to the island, had cream cake, took a cab up to the castle..all for less than the cost of the tour!Written 10 January 2019
- Wj2018030 contributionsDo not book with this company. We booked the tour, paid the money and turned up on time for collection. No one appeared so after 15 mins the hotel receptionist kindly contacted the company. They had cancelled the tour but said that Viator should have let us know. Amazingly one hour after we should have been collected I received an email notifying me that the tour would not go ahead as there were insufficient people. I completely accept that they need a minimum number but advance notification would have been nice, especially as they had my email address, mobile phone number and hotel details. It seems that it's only customers who have to give 24 hours notice. We then booked a similar tour with To do in Slovenia and received excellent service.Written 3 October 2018
- Adrianne K0 contributionsExcellent tourWe booked this tour well in advance knowing it might be cancelled if there were insufficient numbers. No-one else booked but Milan ran a personal tour for us for which we were very grateful. He was extremely knowledgeable about Slovenia and shared that with us on the drive out in his clean, modern air conditioned van. At the lake he drove us around to see the views then left us for 3 hours to do as we chose, which meant not paying for unwanted extras. We chose the pletna boat ride to the island and coffee and cake on return. On the way back to our hotel he gave us good information on what to do for the reainder of our stay in Ljubljana. I would recommend his tourWritten 11 June 2018
- JaanaCyprus0 contributionsNice drive through the countrysideWe travelled a bit out of the tourist season and were the only two passengers on the minibus and our driver Milan gave all his attention to us. Lovely day out and we took the boat to the island and walked back to Bled centre. It was nice to have our guide all to ourselves and been able to ask him loads of questions.Written 4 June 2018
