    What to Expect
Meet In front of Dlugosz House in early afternoon to begin your tour. Perched on top of the hill above the Vistula river, south of the Old Town, the Wawel is the crown jewel of the city's architectural treasures. It is by far the most important collection of buildings in Poland. Its historical and artistic value, dating from the 14th century, places it amongst the gems of the UNESCO World Heritage list. A vast complex of great halls, churches, state apartments and courtyards have their own stories to tell, the atmosphere and a world view of the imperial era. Strolling through the royal chambers, your expert guide will bring the castle to life by explaining the turbulent history surrounding the various buildings and their royal and presidential connections.

We booked a tour in advance with this tour company. The guide was dull and mono syllabic. The state rooms, then treasury and armoury were also increasingly dull. And this was by far the most expensive money per minute activity we did in Krakow. Would...More

We paid £29 for 2 people at time of booking then had to pay £10 to the guide for tickets. Tour lasted 45 minutes and while the guide was informative it was definitely not worth £20 each. Go early and buy your own ticket

Covering such a big territory on a very hot day, our guide did a wonderful job showing and explaining! When you visit, check the bag size limits. All larger bags, backpacks etc should be left in a storage room while you are walking around the...More

The tour guide we had seemed to be very interested in the tapestries. When asked about anything else of interest to us or our family she brushed off the question and redirected us to the tapestries. Granted, there are fascinating. But I would have wanted...More

Yes you can - and sometimes you can even get in the cathedral for free. Worth a wander around on its own merits.
