  • Learn the history of one of the world’s oldest salt mines
  • Explore mining shafts, tunnels, underground lakes, and salt carvings
  • Round-trip transport from city center included, so no need to rent a car
What to Expect
After a pickup from Kraków's city center, travel for about an hour to reach Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world. With your included entrance fee, enter the mine and descend more than 200 steps into an expensive underground network. A guide will show you the way through a maze of tunnels, chambers, and stairways built over eight centuries. Learn about the fascinating history of the mine and browse a collection of antique mining equipment that dates back to the Middle Ages. Breathe deep in the mine’s mineral-rich microclimate, which is thought to have health benefits, and admire detailed shrines and sculptures carved entirely from salt rock. You’ll be dropped off at a convenient point in central Kraków after the tour. As a bonus, receive a free Kraków sightseeing audio guide when you book.

This was a real disappointment. It's lengthy - pushing 3 hours. Bulk of the tour is wandering down passageways with nothing to see. Audio equipment they give you is crap so you're listening to crackling and broken bits of sentences the whole time. Much of...More

Went with Discover Krakow tours, small minivan to site. Comfortable, quick etc. Then joined a larger group to look around salt mine. Quite a few steps involved in getting down to the depths but down stairs, comfortable pace, easy to keep up. Come up by...More

I have to say I wasn’t massively excited about doing this visit, but it seems everyone recommends going so myself and my dad decided to go. The mines themselves were fascinating, well presented and clean. We paid to have an English speaking guide to tell...More

I would definitely use this company again! The staff were friendly, helpful and the buses were a really good standard! The tour was an eye opener, really good and unusual. A must visit!

I would advise that the person not go. You have to walk down 400 steps to get to the first level and the walls are narrow and uneven. They do have lifts and disabled accessed, but you wouldn’t see the whole mines.
