I had a great experience with our guide, John, and fellow travellers. The views were beautiful and well worth the hike to get there. I would say the boat ride was part of the excursion that wasn't my favorite. While the view was pretty, the hike up and down the steep hill wasn't worth it for such a short ride, though I understand the reasoning as part of the river was closed due to falling tree limbs and such. That said, John was very informative, friendly, and humorous. I appreciated his timely pick up from my hotel and the tidbits of information along the journey to our hiking destinations, as well as along the hiking trails. I would definitely recommend the excursion for those who enjoy a good hike and lots of stairs!

This hike was definitely worth it. Our guide from prague Michae "Misiu" was amazing. From the day before, informing us of what the hike was to be expected, to acutally sending his live location so that we could meet him from our hotels. Hw was kind enough to inform us of what the hike would entails. He gave good information about the place and the history as well. It was slightly cloudy with a fine drizzle but Misiu provided the raincoats if you needed it. There were also water and power bars if you needed it. All in all a lovely landscape and awesome photo pics for a memorable memory. Would definitely recommend it.

We took the hiking tour of Tisa Rocks, Pravcicka Gate, and Bastei Bridge. Everything about this tour was absolutely perfect, from before booking to after our tour. I had several questions that were answered before booking by our Tour Coordinator Petra, and the detailed information we received before the tour started was very helpful for planning purposes. We were picked up at our hotel at the designated time, and received great communications via WhatsApp. Our tour guide, Ondrej, was absolutely amazing. He quickly picked up on our group dynamic (5 people) and really tailored everything to perfection and had detailed knowledge of the history and geography of the region. Everything on the tour went like clockwork, and we lucked out with great weather. Our lunch in Mezna was absolutely delicious, and they had a wide selection of choices and everyone on our tour really enjoyed their meals. Plentiful restroom stops were built in to the tour (important for us coffee and beer drinkers!). And the scenery of each of the three locations was breathtaking. Ondrej listened to our discussions and provided us with several recommendations after the tour was over which we took advantage of the following day.

We signed up to do the basic hike tour to Saxon Switzerland and found ourselves, bang on time, hopping on Raphael's minibus with 6 other people.
Raphael kept us entertained and informed with knowledgeable commentary as we drove through the beautiful Czech countryside. A mix of history and geographical information was offered but Raphael was also very happy to answer questions when we had them.
Stops were well timed for those of us of a certain age and all in all the drive to the first stop flew by.
We parked at the village of Hrensko and then walked up to the magnificent wooden chalet restaurant and geological marvel of a rock arch Called Pravcicka. Raphael shepherded the less enthusiastic hikers gently up the train, stopping frequently for information sharing and rest breaks. The walk back was easier and Raphael hopped ahead to pick us up at the trailhead from where we scored off for lunch (included) at the Mesna Resort.
The food at Mesna was traditional Czech 🇨🇿 fare and was absolutely delicious. I had Goulash eith bread dumplings and my wife enjoyed her first Schnitzel, chicken in this case although Pork was also an option. A cool glass of Czech beer helped it down nicely and we also enjoyed an additional course and coffee while the others tracked down the valley to the river and a boat trip.
On their return we headed toward our final visit to the Bastei Bridge. This was my favourite location, despite a few drops of rain. An awesome geological site combined with history and human ingenuity made for a fascinating visit. Raphael continued to beguile us with tales and information before, tired but happy, we headed back to Prague.
This was a wonderful day, one we won't forget, not least because of Raphael's knowledge and attentiveness. It is a long day with lots of driving but certainly worth it.

Amazing Guide, Spectacular sights, Worth Every Kč.
This was our topper for 10 days in Prague, and a perfect last day.
The longer of the two hikes totaled 4.6 miles. In the scheme of things, very doable, but I was glad to have the extra traction of hiking boots. Trail running shoes would work as well.
As you are at a higher altitude, the weather can be changeable. In late December, the temp was about 45° F. I took a rain jacket to wear over a puffer jacket and was just fine.
The views from the top were stunning! The topography, the rock formations, the mist, clouds, and fog made this feel like we were climbing through the Bourgo Pass on our way to Dracula’s castle. At the top, a pub/restaurant awaits (Falconcrest) that clings to the side of the mountain. Note, the pub is only open April-October.
The area was hit by a wildfire a couple of years ago, so the fist quarter of the hike, is through a burned area. Sad for a beautiful area, but the upside is you can see the absolutely amazing rock formations on either side.
From the top, a view for miles to other peaks, fog filled valleys, and topography that doesn’t feel real.
Lunch (goulash with potato dumplings and a pint of Staropromen on draft) was at a tiny restaurant in the village that sat at the foot of the mountain. Needless to say, we inhaled our food.
Then to the Bastei Bridge, the site of a spectacular stone bridge between rock formations hundreds of feet tall over looking tiny valleys, remains of a Saxon castle, and the valley floor below where the Elbe flows.
We can’t say enough positive things about our tour guide (and very roomy, comfortable VW van driver) Michael. Very familiar with the area, and so very friendly. He wasn’t working from a script, instead telling us about the places we were seeking, answering every question we had, and making the entire tour incredibly memorable.
As we went in this tour on 12/23, we learned a great deal also about Czech family life and Christmas traditions.
Seriously, this tour has thought of everything. Ponchos in case of rain, snacks (including my new favorite candy, Corny Big), bottled water—even gloves for my younger daughter who forgot hers.
As elsewhere in Cz, gratuity is never expected but always appreciated. We did cash direct to our guide, about 500 Cz ($25) for each of 4 of us.
Seriously, you can not go wrong with this tour. We’ll use Bohemia Adventures again! Velmi vám děkuji y Veselé Vánoce Michael!

The day trip to Switzerland Saxony National Park was Fantastic. Our guide Ondrej was knowledgeable, affable & open to questions. We had a total of 6 in our tour.
He estimated that we walked 9 miles/14km for the day. The terrain is manageable but there was quite a bit of climbing up and down steps. We were able to take breaks as needed. The views were impressive and all of the tourists in our van were glad they made the trip.
We were picked up at our hotel at 7:45 am and dropped off at 7:30 pm. It is an all-day adventure. We were served lunch at our 2nd stop of the day. The restaurant served a nice selection of entrees, which is included in the price of the trip. I had trout and my wive chose a chicken dish.
We spent 4 days total in Prague and were glad that we took one of them for this tour. It was well worth it. One piece of advice is to wear clothes appropriate to the weather. We traveled on an 80 degree day and some in our group regretted wearing long pants.

Trip advisor sent us very informative updates leading up to the excursion, including a detailed itinerary, an accurate pickup time estimate, and even a tracking link for our guide that morning. Our guide, Rina, was a delight. She was prompt, friendly and informative (tho her driving could be improved hah).
The excursion started out with a drive to a forested area within the Bohemia Switzerland National Park (on the Czech side) for a 1 hour hike up to the Pravcicka Brana (Archway) situated next to a historic lodge called the Falcon's Nest. The beginning of the hike was mostly thru a patch of forest that had unfortunately burned quite dramatically in 2022, so it was not as picturesque as it normally would have been. However, the arch and the Flacon's Nest and views at the peak were stunning. The hike was about medium difficulty.
Next we were taken to lunch at a quaint hotel/restaurant in Mezna, CZ - there were 3 meal options to choose from of traditional czech food and it was actually pretty good (and included in the tour, including beer if desired). This location was at the trailhead for the next portion of the hike that was down a steep ravine to a river at the bottom called the "Skalní kaple při stezce z Mezné do Růžové" (google it). We boarded a small boat with about 15 other people (2 tour groups), with a boat guide who paddled along the river and pointed out interesting formations. He was supposed to give his tour in English and Czech, but only did the Czech portion - luckily Rina our guide was able to translate for us. The boat trip lasted about 20 minutes each way, and brought us back to where we started. From there we had to hike back up the ravine to the van. This was a difficult hike and we had some in our party who had quite a difficult time with it. It is steep and lots of stairs. My knees were sore on the way down and the way back up was definitely challenging for me. Overall, I didnt think the river and boat trip were worth the hike.
Finally, we got back into the van and drove into Germany on the Saxon Switzerland side of the National Park to visit the final stop at Bastei Bridge along the Elba River. There was no hike here, just a walk to the Bastei Bridge and back. Some stairs at various points of the bridge to see other view look-outs but those were optional. The views were beautiful and there was a great history to this bridge. Vast views of the Elba river, below valley, and even an old Saxon Castle/Fortress.
We had 8 people in our tour, plus the guide. Overall I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it as long as you are comfortable with some moderate to difficult climbs. Also we very much liked our guide Rina.

I loved this excursion and recommend it for anyone who wants breathtaking views with moderate exercise. The gigantic sandstones peaking over the trees in the lush bohemian Switzerland landscape are a sight to behold and well worth the 5-10 minute hike to observe these beauties. The pleasant 1500ft boat ride was worth the slightly more dangerous and arduous trek down and back up the trail as you get to observe the uniques formations of the sandstones and calming water sounds. That was the most challenging part of the excursion with a 15-25 minute walk up a moderately steep and at times slippery path.
Our leader and tour guide, Reena, did a fantastic job looking after the hikers that required more assistance and also sharing interesting details about the landmarks. Learning about the history of the sights and seeing more of the adjacent towns made me want to visit again.
I highly recommend everyone with at least moderately good leg and back health enjoy this fantastic excursion. Note: There is a slightly less arduous version of the tour as well, but you miss out on some of the sights.

We went on June 2 and saw three main attractions, Pravčická Gate, Kamenice River boat ride and Bastei Bridge (in Germany). Although the weather did not cooperate toward the end, Raphael was well prepared with a backpack large enough to carry all raincoats for the entire two vans of tourists, and he carried them on his back until they were needed. Hiking sticks were also provided because a section of the climb was steep, and the back of the vans was stocked with hot tea/coffee/water and protein bars. Lunch was delightful. Trip planning was superb. The tour guides were patient, helpful, knowledgeable and spoke good English. Even though it rained on us in the afternoon, we were in good hands with Bohemia Adventures.

Monika is an amazing guide. She kept the spirits light and high, and I never felt like we were on a tight schedule. The group size was intimate at 8 and the arrangement by Bohemia Adventures leading to the pickup was very organized. It was my first time joining a tour solo and I definitely recommend anyone who is looking to do this itinerary or any activities under their company. You will not have any regrets. Thank you again Monika for such an amazing day!

We are a family of three, including a 5-year-old boy, and we are excited about booking the tour. Prior to confirming our reservation, we simply wish to inquire about the suitability of the trip for our young child. We eagerly await your prompt response.

Hello there, first stop in National Park is a long walk to go all the way up, but if the weather is good, shouldn't be a problem.
It's worthy, have fun!

Can I make this tour private with a luxury car, what will be the additional cost?
Written 2 August 2023
I think the tour is small group of 8 max. If you have enough friends and family can easily take up the whole car. I did two tours and had 4 in one and 7 in the other max. The vans are comfortable, one was VE Multivan and the other Ford Transit.

How challenging is the terrain on this hike? 4 - 5 miles is ok for me, but double knee replacements make uneven terrain a bit challenging. Please share photos or videos of terrain if available. What is altitude of hike?

Whats the temperature like in mid September? Also how many miles/km is the hike? Do you have to be hiker to do this activity?
Written 11 August 2022
I went during mid-September, would definitely suggest bringing a normal jacket (doesn’t have to be the thick winter jacket - anything for autumn weather would do) along because it does get quite chilly if the sun isn’t out (it unfortunately rained during my visit). Not too sure how long the hike was, but is definitely doable regardless of whether you’re a hiker or not. I’m severely anaemic so my stamina is awful but the tour was absolutely amazing for me :)

Bonjour,
J’aimerais savoir si c’est possible de faire cette activité avec une carte d’identité ? Nous n’avons pas de passeport. Belle journée

Would it be possible to bring a one year old with us on this trip if we put her in a hiking back pack?
Written 18 June 2022
I think the hike itself could be done with the hiking backpack (I assume you’re used to it). I think the hard part would be the travel. We were in a van that was full with 9 adults for several hours that day (at least a couple 2-hour stints). Unsure of how that would work with a one year old.
Just something to think about! I’d contact the tour company directly to see if they could do it though. ◡̈
