Poor planning on our part, but great city
Went about 15 years ago. Great city, lousy hotels because we didn’t do our research. Just went on a whim during a trip to Germany. Want to go back, but will research first!

    Terezin Tour
A really enjoyable tour of Terezin including the small fortress and ghetti. Our tour guide/driver was informative throughout the trip including transfers to and from Terezin. We also had time to visit the cemetery and crematorium, which was an added bonus to the trip. We would highly recommend.

Very informative way of learning about the Czech Republic
Very enjoyable way to get an informative history of the Czech Republic in the 20th century. That was the main reason for our visit, and it didn't disappoint. Only minor issue for me would be the lack of signage and the direction pamphlet. Maybe it was just me!!

    Chime chime chime
Set in the old town ornate clock. The chimes were a bit difficult to see as only the heads move on some and the Skelton pulls a rope. Lift to the top worth the money. Great views over the square and city.

Very nice inside of museum, but more for the family with kids.It is big, but you have place to sit if you get tired
The inside of museum is magnificent, but the exhibition is an average for me, this is more for the family with kids-kids would love it!But still nice to see everything..since I like history, that wasn't bad made, and also the exhibition of evolution of animals. I didn't like that there is no written direction where to go, so you are trying to not skip anything, and in the middle of that was one store with museum staff, they could put it at the end, like they did with the smaller one( the smaller is on good place, but too small).

    Brilliant tour
We had a great tour with Michea. Very informative and highly funny, was a shame when our tour of the Castle complex ended. Loved our included tram ride, two birds with one stone.

Awesome Tour Guide, Perfect Bite Sized information of Czech history and culture both modern and gothic
This tour was excellent! It gave a good quick overview of modern and historical Czech culture and customs without staying too long on one thing. Our tour guide Veronica was wonderful not only with historical information but also cared enough to introduce us to the tram system and made sure we used our time effectively! If this is your first trip to Prague I definitely recommend!

You WON'T skip any queues with this one
Avoid. This company has no agreement with the castle and cathedral staff so you won't be able to skip any queues. In fact on the day we went the queue was unusually long and we had to wait with the guide for an hour in the cold. We also had to wait 30 min while the guide was getting us some extra tickets because the company didn't give her enough. The guide was a very nice young woman (likely first job after highschool) and none of it was her fault. When other people started getting angry at her for having to wait so long the only thing she could do was find another guide from the same company who was in the same situation as her. Very obvious that the company that organised this trip set these guides for failure with lack of support and resources.

    Informative and reflective
Our bus dropped us off near the river and we trekked up streets to the Old-New Synagogue, the oldest functioning synagogue in Europe, went inside and down some steps. Our guide gave a brief explanation then we walked out and along some more streets to the Pinkas Synagogue with 80,000 names written on the walls. They all belong to Czech Jews who never returned from the concentration camps after WWII. On exiting, we walked up some steps to the Old Jewish Cemetery, one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Exiting by the gate, we walked to the Jerusalem Synagogue and entered its large interior which has a high circular rosette window with the Star of David. As you exit there is a gift shop. Beside this synagogue is a small park with a bronze statue of novelist Franz Kafka. The monument depicts him sitting on the shoulders of a headless figure, in reference to the author's 1912 story “Depiction of a Struggle” (wherein the narrator leaps onto his acquaintance's back and rides him like a horse). People stop to have their photo taken holding the statue’s dangling feet which are rubbed shiny as opposed to the dark metallic figure. From here our tour group walked back towards the river and took our bus to the hotel through Prague's congested early evening traffic.

A fast march with no interior access
This Prague walking tour was part of a Viking Cruises extension. Our guide met us at the hotel at 8:30 AM and took off at high speed so we could ‘distance’ ourselves from another group. We stopped at Wenceslas Square then looped behind the Old Town Square coming out at the Astronomical Clock beside the Christmas Market. Then thru the cobblestone back streets to the Charles Bridge and across to the other side where we had “free time” for a bathroom break, coffee or shopping. Next came a climb down steps and along back streets coming out at a busy intersection with trams and cars. We managed to cross that in two groups then along a side street to a parking lot where we boarded a bus to Prague Castle. We walked into the Castle yard, but the tour did not include entrance to St. Vitus Cathedral, so we stood outside, and she droned on about the historical eras of the structure. Nor was there time for individuals to buy a ticket to enter the church. We hiked back out past the decorative guards on display and onto the bus back to the hotel by 1:30 PM. In a post-Covid world, I have noticed many of the excellent tour guides have found other employment and their replacements are not as good.

    Great Tour!
The tour was very well organized with meeting place, check in, splitting into groups, etc. Our guide, Veronica, was very knowledgeable and experienced with these tours. She told us all about the castle and surrounding buildings as well as giving us tips on riding the trams and other hints about visiting Prague.

    Plenty to see
I visited with my friend and we bought tickets for the palace, cathedral and some of the other areas. It was good value for money, especially as you could use over 2 days in case you didn't get to see something. We went to the cathedral on the second day as the queue was enormous on our first day. My favourite area was the old street, it was really cute and you could get an idea of how they used to live. There was a lovely little shop, where we bought Christmas decorations that were much cheaper than at the markets. The castle is still used, and we managed to see the changing of the guards. My advice would be to get there early to avoid the queues!

    Prague National Museum
Amazing amazing amazing and the word is not self explanatory. The way describes by the visitors like 2 hrs is enough to cover this huge amazing museum but honestly based on my experience as museum lovers. This museum is totally different. It is 2 buildings connected internally as an adult I purchased ticket with 300 kc and also the same price online. I attended and the guide in the reception explains what is available and then direct me into a locker and coat rooms which you can keep your staff safely which is another good service so you can move and enjoy. I attended the Olympic museum and nothing much to see then moving to the 20th century museum which was wooow amazing to go through the history of the country and how things were moving till day this took most of my time as history lover beside it is huge information to be shared and processed. Moving to the next historical building which was another wooow on the building, feelings and atmosphere. It is another huge place to visit and explains the history of the building and the reason of the way build then you start moving in huge rooms each transfer you to the next and you can’t stop even if you are tired. Then there is a next level which will take you into the prehistory where a lot of animals display and explains what is it starting from the earth moving to the ocean. Then next is the stones and minerals which was another woooow. Then next level is to reach into the copala which is different thing to have an eye on whole Prague from the top walking on the glass. It is really worth visit and take your own time don’t rush because you will regret missing it. I recommend keeping 3-4 hrs for this visit.

We thought this was booked directly with Prague castle but it isn’t. The instructions were not clear and says you have to exchange your ticket and then meet the person with the umbrella, which is not the case. The ticket queue on the day we visited (1pm Monday 14th October) was very long, so finding the blue and white umbrellas did take time off. The intro was fine, but also purchased the audio guide which wasn’t great - it isn’t a separate handheld guide, it’s a download to your phone so if you have low battery and no headphones as we did, it was useless.

Get over the line! Or "a ticket to "next" all sights. We bought in the hope that we could "skip the line" with it you can not - actually not a single queue one can skip. You buy virtually just one ticket that is valid for most entrances at Prague Castle. The visit itself was OK, but none of us could see the benefit - In addition, the introduction started with the fact that you could "buy" an audioguide and which sights were NOT included in the price :/ A little practice experience, but then we know it.

Bit underwhelmed to be honest. Absolutely zero queues for anything so the ticket didn’t save us any time.
The talk was ok but was a good 20-25 mins and everyone was getting cold!
The ticket is valid for two days but you only have one entrance to each of the four places you can be admitted to.
The cathedral had a portion closed for organ renovation - I suspect this will be the case for a good while yet.

Let's get this clear this skip the line part is NOT skip the line to the cathedral, it is a skip the line for buying tickets only you do NOT skip the line at all !!!!. Sat in a cafe writing this review as everywhere is soooooooo packed you are queuing outside in the cold for AGES !!!!! I believe this should not be put down as wheelchair accessible as actually even though there is a wheel hair lift into the Palace, which is basically a rectangular room you could not possibly take a wheelchair anywhere else, people listen up even though it says the Cathederal is free of charge online the cathedral is NOT free of charge, you get to the turnstile and tou are turned away by 2 of the most grumpiest men on planet earth rude moody shouty made a 76 year old woman cry and a 80 year old man very worried indeed. Prague Castle is beautiful on the outside but not very much to read or look at inside to be honest I wouldn't bother... whereas some museums have interactive activities or dress rooms to look like olden days etc no effort made at all and this ticket does not warrant the price very very very dissapointed pushy shovey rude and grumpy people not for me thankyou

Do not! I had doubts about this and ultimately decided against it after other reviews. We walked to the Castle today, August 2023, 11 a.m. It was and is extremely busy, the busiest time of the year and of the day!
Upon entering I saw the museum shop on the left where we bought tickets without a single row for the equivalent of 15 euros (mother and son <16 years)!! The lines to actually enter the cathedral or palace are longer ;)

It was very useful to get skip the line tickets in Florence and Prague. I Florence we also got a tour guide who was excellent. The overview / intro at Prague Castle was also good. It can be difficult to get the rhe redemption point though. Often the person with your tickets comes later than you were asked to come and this is unnerving. Other times the place is easy to find if you know the city but not that easy when you don’t. A small gripe, however

I made the mistake of booking this tour twice! I therefore requested the cancellation and reimbursement of the visit and I was still charged €72!

In addition, we noticed that the skip-the-line ticket was €6 more expensive than buying it on site even though the queue was not long at all!

We had 20 minutes of explanations provided by a person on site which did not justify this extra cost at all!

A word of advice: waiting in line for a little while and reading a summary of the castle while waiting will be much better and much cheaper!

The ticket booth was crowded, so I applied for the 10:30am session on the morning of the day. Find the blue and white umbrella 30 minutes before and talk to them to get your ticket. After that, there was a brief explanation, and then you could disband and walk around Prague Castle as you like. I'm glad it went smoothly!

This is a bit misleading, as the ticket only allows you to skip the line at the information centre to purchase the initial ticket. You then need to join the long queues to gain entry to each area. However, it was still worth getting this ticket, as the queue at the information centre was very long!
It was very very busy when we visited and the queues snake all over the place. Why there is no queue management / barriers to organise each queue, I don’t know?!

When we arrived we had to figure out what to do. There were several guides and many people were present. I spoke to a guide who gave us the tickets and he was able to explain to us that we first received an introduction and that the groups were split into different languages. So we walked with the guide who gave explanations in English. Then we could go our separate ways and that was fine. We went in the morning and this is especially recommended in a busy city like Prague. We were able to visit everything about the castle in one day at our leisure.
